Aidan Cheverell

PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 10:07 pm

Aidan had somehow led Blossom (and presumably Lance, as he didn't notice if he was following or not) to the crowd that had soon formed around the bard. He'd always been fascinated by legend and lore of old--he'd found his part in assisting Lord Eliwood to be a once in a lifetime experience--and this was no exception. He'd only heard the name of Kyros in an old history book as a footnote, so he listened intently to the tale.

"Kyros, Evelyn, Misura, Ledreak, Teifi, Shento, Jyoti, Castello, and Domanova..." He made a mental note to remember these names, if he wanted to look them up later on.

His focus drifted for a moment when Ganon fell silent and let his guitar speak for him. The tactician found his eyes drifting into the crowd as he scanned the faces--some that he knew, others he didn't. Learania was getting bigger. A faint smile crossed his lips and he continued to gaze at the sea of people.

A blue-haired man holding a child with hair the same color. A spiky-haired girl. A young woman with golden hair and exquisite armor--

Wait, WHAT?!

"Daiyu?!" he blurted.

It had been quite some time since he had seen been to a festival. It had also been quite some time since he had seen the others. When was the last time he actually was with the majority of them? Halloween? He had briefly showed up during Christmas, only to go away again. Where had the young Roy been? That was a secret he would keep to himself.

But where ever he had gone definitely had its benefits. He looked more formidable, more reliable. He wasn't the weak little lordling he used to be. But just because he was stronger didn't mean his personality had changed. Nor did it mean he no longer cared about the others.

He walked over to where a small crowd was near a bard, who was telling tales of heroes from a distant past. He glanced around, seeing familiar faces here and there, including his Uncle Nils. But there were also some unfamiliar faces. He would no doubt get to meet them eventually.

When the telling from the bard ended, Roy left. There were still many things he wanted to do, including enjoying himself at the festival, as well as finding his mother, Ninian, to say hello.

Manakete Kris

PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 10:52 pm

The manakete’s ears perked at the mention of the girl’s name he had transformed into. It was just Kris’s luck that the instant he transformed someone recognized the person he had become. So much for laying low, not that doing such was easy with Daiyu’s body. Daiyu wasn’t exactly a camouflage ready person, per say, with her bright hair and attire. Heck, Daiyu was the type of person that drew attention to her, rather than away.

Hehe, oh boy, oh boy. Gosh and it’s been so long since I’ve seen Daiyu myself, best play the part of the girl though, else… Oh but there was still a problem. Just because Daiyu knew someone didn’t mean Kris did, and thus the fun began, finding the best way to get around not revealing his true identity, while maintaining Daiyu’s persona. It was a challenge within itself, but one Kris was now forced to face… even if it had been years since Kris had seen the girl, let alone talked with her. Maintaining the ruse wouldn’t be an easy task. If only Kris hadn’t been so lazy and studied up on the people that lived in FEF.

Quick! Thinkofsomethingwitty!

“Oh, hey there,” Kris said in Daiyu’s sing-song voice while making his way over to the brunette. Maintain, Daiyu-ness, maintain Daiyu-ne— “What’s shaking?” Kris did his best to intimidate Daiyu’s upbeat nature as he spoke, carefully avoiding calling the boy by his name as to not arouse suspicion. “And who have we here?” Kris said, directing his attention at the shorter girl, curiosity wanting to be answered.

"There are many stories of the heroes," said the reptile at last. "Many, many stories of their feats and accomplishments. Ledreak led them into the Mountains of Eldir to face the Spider Priest, and slew him with his own spear. I could sing for hours of their great charge through the desert, when they freed Sentria from Mordache rule." He grinned, picking up the tempo again on his guitar.

"But today I shall tell you of how they defeated the Dark God!" He stood up, grinning, and walked toward the edge of the stage.

"For you see," he said, sitting with his taloned legs hanging off the wooden stage, "Their travels took them all over the continent, doing good deeds, collecting information, righting wrongs and every step bringing them closer and closer to their goal. The story as I have heard it tells that at last they found the Dark God's land. Even he, who goes unnamed, was impressed by their might. He warned them that he would not let them live to reach him, for there was no way that they could defeat an entire army of his closest followers, the source of his power."

Ganon leaned forward, smirking. "He was not," said the snake, "the first to underestimate the Nine Heroes. With their combined power and the strategy of Domanova, they easily routed the Dark God's army, formidable though it was! The stories tell that in this land, Shento the Dragon's Bane killed many of the Dark God's mighty dragons with his bow." Ganon lifted his hands, switching into open key as he played the melody with his tail and mimed drawing an arrow from an invisible quiver, drawing it back in his bow, and let the invisible arrow fly. "Whoosh! Thunk! And the dragon would fall! Kyros split the earth with the power of Dullahan and called it to rise up and swallow his enemies! With Antaram, Jyoti smote their legions of undead!"

Ganon grabbed the neck of his guitar again and struck a powerful chord, then picked up a quicker tempo. "With his army and the source of his power vanquished, the Nine Heroes charged upon the Dark God himself. Each of them fought fiercely, but in the end, all stories find a different victor. In many, the Dark God was torn asunder by Dullahan. In others, the beak of Castello pierced his black heart. Others say that Domanova dealt the killing blow."

The reptilian bard grinned, sitting back. "All we know is that after the Dark God was destroyed, they disappeared. They went their separate ways, and a few were seen on their own, in some stories... but the Heroes soon passed into the annals of history, leaving only their weapons, hidden and scattered across the continent."

He smirked. "Some say that Espinne is hidden here, somewhere in Eyris. So be mindful when you visit the library." He grinned and played one last chord, then stood up and bowed. "That," he said, "Is the story of the Nine Heroes of Learania. What story would you like to hear next?"

Lance wasn't about to let up with his outburst. "Cut it out? Why do you care if I make a scene or not!? I'm just like air to you guys aren't I?!"

Lance would've shaken himself out of Blossom's grab, hadn't Aidan pulled the both of them away towards another of Lance's aquaintances, Ganon the Scaly Bard. Lance was actually surprised how the guy managed to pull the two of them along with him, especially since Blossom's arms were still wrapped around Lance's elbow, making them make small hops as to not lose balance when pulled, making it a pretty comical train of hopping people.

Still, Ganon's story rang a bell for Lance. With the state of his mind, he had gone over countless of old books and tomes looking for answers. The names sounded like something that he had come across in one of the books. Then again, a legend with Nines in them weren't rare, and might've just mixed them up.

Aidan's outburst perked Lance's ears, who quickly homed in on the source of his outburst.

D-Daiyu!

Lance was about to say something, when Daiyu spoke up. However, it seemed like she ignored him completely and instead focused on Blossom. I really must be invisible... It didn't feel nice to be ignored after he had saved this person's life a few times already.

Still, something felt off. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something felt...different. He quickly closed the distance on Daiyu, inspecting her from various sides and heights, close and further away. It looks like Daiyu, smells like Daiyu, talks like Daiyu...but something doesn't feel...right...as if I get boosebumps by talking to her.

Lance didn't let his inner thoughts betray his demeanour right now though.

"Daiyu! It's me! Quentin! Remember?"

With a hand he had behind his back, he tried to signal to Aidan and Blossom to not 'blow his cover', but he wasn't certain they got the signal.

"It really is..." Nils murmured to his companion, nodding slightly. It was interesting! No, fascinating!
... Although he did wince slightly with Shento was mentioned. Dragon's Bane? His heart sank a bit. It was very... upsetting, to say the least, to hear about the dragons. He was one himself, and he was always sensitive about it. But for now he pushed that aside, just to listen to the rest of the tale.

When the story was finished, he gave a slight nod of approval to Ganon, knowing that he probably wouldn't see it anyways. Nils shortly dwelled on the idea of doing something like this himself, performing in front of others while telling some tale of heroism... but then he remember that he lacked the stories and, at the moment, the instruments. Sometime after Easter, Nils had recovered his missing golden flute and hid it away along with the cursed flute and his dragon stone. He was determined not to use or even hold any of those items until the time was right. Without his flute, he really didn't feel like a dragon bard. He truly felt like a normal person.

And that... was absolutely great. He gave a soft smile to FD, keeping still in case Ganon decided to start up another story.

Aidan Cheverell

The tactician furrowed his brow, puzzled. Did Daiyu ever say 'what's shaking'...? But he simply pinned it on the excitement and happiness of the festival. Besides, he hadn't seen Daiyu in a long time, so how could he remember exactly what she was like?

"What are you doing here?" Aidan said with a smile. "I would never have guess that you'd landed in Learania, too!"

When she gestured to Blossom, he brightened. "This is Blossom!" he chirped, "We're kind of ambiguously married/dating/engaged--I'm not really sure anymore, 'cause I don't know exactly what continuity I'm in. But I THINK we're actually married. Right, Blossom?"

He was interrupted, however, by Lance. Still not entirely sure of what was going on, he didn't say a word about 'Quentin', instead opting to quietly listen to the rest of Ganon's tale.

Domanova, the tactician-sage, left his tome in Eyris...wonder if I'd be able to find it?

Blossom looked first to Lance, who introduced himself as Quentin to this strange blonde-haired girl with the elaborate armor (which sort of made Blossom want some of her own, or at least some armor, might help prevent a repeat of that fight against Abel...) and then to Aidan, who didn't even seem to know what sort of relationship they were in. What the heck?

Blossom held up one hand and removed her glove after pushing back the gold ring around her wrist that held it in place, showing the simple wedding band; considering the nature of the wedding itself, there kind of was no engagement ring. "We're married, Aidan," she laughed, tugging on his ponytail reproachfully before looking back to Lanc-- er, Quentin.

Well, if they were both going to act weird, might as well play along.

"Uhm, Quentin, do you know this girl? Because I sure don't," Blossom told him, blinking twice. She looked back to the girl. She realized nothing wrong in seeing Kris in this form, seeing as she didn't know the real Daiyu to begin with. "Your name's Daiyu, right? Like Aidan said, I'm Blossom." She leaned over and grabbed Lance's arm again, keeping both men close by.

Nino had listened quietly to Ganon's story. She wondered briefly how he knew all of this. She made her way closer to the stage and sat in front. Nino had always been fascinated by Ganon, but rarely ever heard very much about where he came from.

"Ganon..." She said quietly. Realizing he hadn't heard, she spoke again. "Ganon I have a story I want you to tell. Yours. Tell us your story."

Blossom, with her short attention span (just like always), found her eyes wandering, and she found herself noticing a head of bright green hair. Only one other person had hair like that (that she knew), and this was most certainly a girl.

"Nino!" Blossom smiled, releasing both Aidan and "Quentin"'s arms. She didn't know this Daiyu person, anyway, so she wouldn't know anything they were talking about. Right? She found herself going towards the crowd, going past a brown-haired raven that gave her a rather pointed look before looking back to Ganon.

Blossom halted once she had gotten near Nino, sinking to her knees a short distance to the side. She was close to the stage now, and before she could mull (again) over how much larger he was than her, she turned her attention back to Nino. His story... Blossom looked back to the stage.

Manakete Kris

Kris blinked, and didn’t respond for a moment. He could feel it; that time was running out and he would soon revert back to his original form. Not that his original form was any less girly, heck he hadn’t met anyone for a long time that hadn’t confused him for a girl, and there were still people to this day that thought he was one.

"Heh, I wouldn't have either," Kris said in response to Aidan. Lucky, lucky, that they'd say their names for me.

Now, either Kris was faced with transforming before their eyes, or running away before it happened. No matter the choice, a choice had to be made fast. “Well, you see… no, I don’t remember you,” Kris stated bluntly, yet truthfully. Since he wasn’t really Daiyu, it was obvious he wouldn’t know these people, and since Daiyu wasn’t in Learania she would never learn of this little incident.

“Well, uh… I have to meet someone so, if you’ll excuse me—"

Aran had continued to watch the fight between Leon and Arashe. Soon though, he noticed most of the people leaving to go listen to one of Ganon's tales. Must be something pretty big to attract that kinda crowd.. He thought to himself.

"Well, I may as well check this out." He said throwing the stick away, it landed miraculously in the garbage. He became interested when he heard of the Halberdier and just realized he was about to reach his promotion. Aran was going to use a Master Seal, but decided he should just wait until he was fully ready.

He was very intrigued by the end of the story, Nine Heroes joining together to Defeat the Dark God.. Huh.. Almost a bit similar to the tale that was told back in Tellius. Although, there were 3 heroes instead of 9 He listened to Nino ask Ganon to tell his story. Aran just realized he didn't even know where Ganon came from.

Nino gave Blossom a little smile, and sat down next to her. She then looked attentively at Ganon, waiting to hear his answer. Would he tell?

"I wouldn't be surprised if she got it from both of you." He laughed, commenting at her remark on Amara's speed. Its a little hard to imagine how she'd be when she was actually old enough to understand the term of 'fast as lightening' if her speed decided to stay with her. When the girl stopped, Ephraim stopped a little behind her. "Well, there's plenty of games. Which one you wanna play first?"

((Short retarded post >_> ))
