Joliette Rigiel
Joliette wandered into his duplex looking about her, for a male she had to give him credit for his immaculate living space. She moved to his armchair and sat down. She looked in his direction "I'm impressed" she said with a soft chuckle

Vasile DiRossi
Vasile chucked himself. "Yeah, well... I'm spoiled. But I have to be honest with you... sheer boredom drove me to do most of it." He sat down on the bed and watched her.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette chuckled "My darkroom back home is this tidy, my flat, well that was a bird of another color" she smiled watching him with interest, he certainly didn't seem like the person she would have imagined he was if she'd never met him

Vasile DiRossi
"I'm having to come to terms with, well how dependant I was on other people," Vasile admitted, shifting to a lounging position on the bed. "I've never really, well, had to do stuff like... clean, before. I know that sounds absolutely horrible I bet." He took off his shades and tossed them on the bedside table. "I'm hoping someone might teach me to do laundry next. I'm running out of clothes."

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette laughed "If you'd like I'll teach you, but I won't do it for you" she pulls her legs up under her leaning on the arm of the chair "Can't learn if someone does it for you, you must have brought a lot of clothing if you are only just running out now"

Vasile DiRossi
Vasile smiled, wondering if he could, somehow, end up having her do them for him. "Oh, I was real picky anout what I would wear out to work out, and what to wear to go each and- wow, I probably sound really a**l. But yeah, I've been careful. And taking lots of showers."

Vasile had brought only a few bags with him. Which was more clothing than most people probably had, but to him it was only a small portion of his wardrobe.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette laughed "Well I'm not quite so picky, a pair of khaki shorts and a cotton top and I'm happy" she shook her head in amusement "I suppose this whole thing is a learning experience for all of us, you for independancy, me to drag me away from my work now and then"

Vasile DiRossi
"Ah," Vasile saw a jugular exposed and decided to go for it. "You know all work and no play makes Joliette a boring girl," he purred out. "So you're trying to learn to let loose and have some fun?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette blushed and laughed "I suppose so, getting stuff done too, but really, there isn't much one can do here, it's not like I have a deadline to meet for print" she said, she'd yet to hear someone purr and that in itself was intriguing her

Vasile DiRossi
"When's the last time you went on a date," he queried, learning forward, watching her.

Joliette Rigiel
"A date..." she blushed not meeting his gaze "Ah.. well... never actually" she admitted to him "Was always to busy with work or studies if I was asked....."

Vasile DiRossi
Vasile gawked. "Oh, you're kidding!"

Wow. He sure could pick them, could he. "That's a shame.. and a waste. I mean.. you've never had a boyfriend?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette shook her head "Nope, no boyfriends, no dates, just work and studies" she said looking back towards him "I guess looking at it I've had a pretty dull life if you dont include chasing down hot leads and getting stuck on islands"

Vasile DiRossi
And Vasile's plans crumbled before his eyes.

He definately wasn't going to bed her now. No way, no how. He was hoping to just have some fun - relieve some pressure... you know. Mess around. But no way was he going to do that to a virgin. Someone who never had even had a boyfriend wasn't going to be interested in a just a fun, no-strings-attatched night.

Vasile shifted. "Yeah, then you definately need to learn to relax and have some fun," he said with a smile.

He stood up and stretched. "You know, I really need to swing by and talk to Ambrose. I feel bad kind of ditching him at the cafeteria. Can I knock on your door tomorrow for the run?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette blinked "Oh, ok then, I wont keep you" she swung her legs to the floor and stood up "So a run in the morning then?" she asked moving towards his door

Vasile DiRossi
"Yup! Well, I mean, whenever I get up. That's usually morning." He smiled and walked her to the door. "See you soon, Joliette, it was nice talking with you."

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled and nodded "All right, yes nice visiting with you, I'm in 27, but I'll probably meet you on the beach" she said with a smile before stepping out of his duplex

Vasile DiRossi
Vasile watched her go then closed the door behind him, shaking his head. It was probably for the better anyway. He could already feel the guilt stirring up inside him. He had a sudden urge to go and talk to Cass.

But first - he needed a really cold shower.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette stood barefoot in the cool sand it was cool out, but it was waking her up, dressed in her black Gi and her hair pulled back in a ponytail, she had her eyes closed and was doing some moves to loosen up, she hadn't done a ton in a long time, being stuck on the isle seemed like as good a time as any to do so. She liked the solitude the quiet beach was providing while she waited, and worked out.

"When the gale blows, the stiff oak resists and breaks, the flexible willow bends and survives" She says quietly to herself as she moves, her mind clear and alert. She stood at rest for a moment, her fist resting near the hip, with the palm facing upwards. Then she opened her eyes and struck out, her arm extending forward in a straight line, wrist twisting as her elbow passed her body, till she completed the punch so that her palm faced to the ground, she was punching thin air but didn't care "Ichi.. Ni... San... Shi... Go... Roku... Shichi... Hachi... Ku... Ju" she counted each number in turn quickly each time she repeated the move

Vasile DiRossi
Vasile made his way to the beach, wearing his "famous" short-shorts and a towel slung around his neck. He admited the view of Joliette's slim figure for a few minutes before showing himself. "Good morning, Sunshine!" he called, obviously in bright spirits.

Joliette Rigiel
"Ni..." she turned her head looking at him "Goodmorning" she greeted his bringing her hands together before relaxing her posture "You seem in a good mood today" she said wandering towards him

Vasile DiRossi
Vasile gave a knowing smile, thinking back on his conversation with Cass the day before. "I am," he grinned. "You ready?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled "Read and warmed up" she said with a nod "I haven't gone running in a while so this should be good excersize"

Vasile DiRossi
"Maybe we'll race later," Vasile said, having stretched in his Duplex to help wake him up. Giving her a smile and a wink, he started his steady pace down the peach. He was an exceptionally graceful runner. Even though he was barefoot, he jumped over driftwood and rocks with an instinctual ease. Unbeknownst to Vasile, it was his fox influence that made darting out of harms way so easy for him.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette chuckled "Well I dont know how fair that'd be you have longer legs then I do" she said moving alongside him.

Joliette Rigiel
Still wearin her Gi having not bothered to change out of them she wandered into the cafeteria in search of food, she peered around and saw 3 familair faces, only 2 of which she had properly met "Hello" she said softly in her thick accent

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked down at the chair, damn, it wasn't often people wanted him to sit with the, he was almost speachles. He sat down quietly, praying and hoping the damn thing wouldn't break.

" Oh .. umm.. brought me a bag to train on.. but um... feel bit stupid now... but hey.. it's an okay way to like.. get ya frustrations out on"

He smiled sadly, trying his best to keep up good spirits

" I need to hang it up,.. um somewhere... need a hook and a drill"

He twiddled his thumbs nervously, looking between them both.

" I can always use it for a scratching post if I'm a cat huh?"

Chubbs blinked and then went red.

" Oh s**t!"

Then he slapped a hand over his mouth. It hadn't occured to him that they might not have known. Oh he was in deep crap. Then he heard a familiar voice and turned to see Joliette. He almsot saw her as a guardian angel rescuing him from the grave he was digging himself. He waved to he and hoped the attention would fall on her.

Awen Zyn
She turned to Joliette and gave her a polite smile, but really she was mid train of thought at Chubbs' reaction. She would deal with that...

Awen sighed with relief. "So you do know." She was glad she wasn't going to have to tell somebody else. "Don't worry though.... I've been here over a month and Jamal's reaching the month mark..um..soon right?" She tilted her head at Jamal thinking yeah it's been about a month.. "So yeah we know. You'd make a cute cat I'm sure, though I honestly peg you as a teddy bear." She giggled a little bit.

She now turned her attention to Joli. "Hi Joli." She held a gestured hand out to Joliette. "Jamal, this is Joliette." She paused and gestured to Jamal. "Joliette this is the imfamous Jamal." She giggled a little bit.

Jamal_Reedy
"..Don't worry none, Chubbs. We both knowin' what's gonna happen," he said with a slightly dejected sigh. "At least, the changin' part. I ain't got no idea what ********' animal they turnin' me into." And jesus christ, ANYTHING but a cat. He loathed the fuzzy bastards...too small to be any good and too needy.

As Joliette was introduced, he grimaced. "Oh...yeah...yous came into the cafeteria that day, didn't ya? I know I seen ya before."

Jamal passed Awen a suspicious look. "Oh, and I be imfamous now? This be news ta me."

Joliette Rigiel
She walked up to the group "Hi Chubbs, glad to hear you figured it out." she said with a weak smile "Hey Awen.. it is, well theres a face for a name at least" she chuckled and held a hand out towards the black man "Nice to meet you Jamal, under what seem like better circumstances then last I saw you" she said looking at the man

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs took a massive sigh of relief hearing that he didn't let the cat out of the bag so to speak. He nodded to Joliette, answering her question, then hearing Awen he went completely red. He never took compliments well and he lowered his face to hide it under his black cap.

" Awww.."

When she gigled he couldn't help but smile, he loved to here giggles, just always made him smile. Probably why he used alot of humour. He heard Jamal speak and he thought about how today was the day he was going to talk to someone.

" Umm.. Anj... oh... Angie? i think?.. um she said if ya ah, talk to .. like .. the guys on the .. intercom.. you can find out like what you are. I'm gonna talk to one of em... um hopefully... I need a few things.. couple answers... I'f ya'd like rather.. find out from me.. I.. er I can ask.. what's in you?"

Chubbs peered up a bit, enough to see their faces under his brim.

Awen Zyn
Awen couldn't help but giggle a bit more at Chubb's new reaction. This guy could be so big and scarey if he wanted to, even moreso than Jamal perhaps, but he just hid under his cap like a turtle. Hmm... maybe the Doc was gonna turn him into...?

She glanced at Jamal. "Oh I helped Joli move some stuff in duplex twenty eight, her new dark room. We couldn't move a few things so I mentioned you might help...and..maybe gushed a little bit about..um...me and you.. um being a couple." She blushed a little bit, she had just been so exstatic about it...

Ambrose Maurlias
With a flurry of movement Ambrose realized that he had made up his mind. He felt the distinct need to be around people. ANyone.... except Angelina or Emelyn. He needed company and support. And food, his stomach prodded. Comfort food if nothing else.

The cafeteria seemed the most logical solution. HE hoped to find Amaya... maybe even Greer or the Dude... but as he jogged into the large room, he stopped still. He was faced with, unlikely enough, a large group of people - none of which had begun to change. Jamal included - who the last time he had seen him he had succeeded in making him feel worse. The blue-haired girl.... he couldn't remember her name. And Joliette... who at least - last he had seen - knew and was dealing with it... and just his luck - someone he didn't know at ALL. A tower of a man with thick red sideburns.

"Ohboy..." Ambrose murmured, starting to regret his decision on the cafeteria.

Hesitating, shifting from foot to foot indecisively, he finally sucked in his pride - knowing that at LEAST three out of the four people at least KNEW, and got a tray, loaded it up with steak.... and chocolate cake.... and then took a breath before heading over to the group.

"H....hi there.." His tail gave a half-hearted wag. His cheeks were wet, and his eyes were bloodshot, if anyone was paying attention to anything other than his other, more notable, appearance.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal gave Joliette a look of faint amusement. "Yeah...I'm hopin' I ain't gonna lose it like dat again...really." That whole thing was embarassing now that he looked back on it, but still his stomach churned unpleasantly as he remembered having to see Ambrose up close and...

He lifted his gaze and was promptly greeted with the appearance of the wolfman. He stiffened almost instantly, but then his mind started to scream at him to cool it. This was not new to him...he KNEW what was going on. Settle down...settle down ya dumbass... He managed to squish the urge to flinch for the most part.

"Hello...Ambrose," he offered, swallowing hard afterwards.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette pulled up a chair after grabbing some salad, she saw Ambrose come in as well "Hello Ambrose" she greeted. she smiled and looked back to Jamal "When reality hits it hits hard, don't worry, it can happen to any one of us. And I'd love help movin hte boxspring out of there, especially after the top matress landed on awen" she looked a lil sheepish saying that Hearing Chubbs words "I don't think I have the bravery to call up there and ask that..."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs lowered his hat again when he got giggled at, he didn't mind, it kinda brought some merriment to the situation. Looking back up finally, hearing more company coming, Chubbs blinked as he saw Ambrose, looked down quickly and tried to focus. In his mind he spoke

. o O ( Okay, don't over react, you just saw a dog guy. He's still a guy, like yaself. Just treat him like you always wanted to be okay?)

Chubbs watched Ambrose fetch himself some food, he looked like he was feeling awkward, He had a remedy for that.

With a shy smile Chubbs offered a hand to Ambrose, a sinciere one.

" Names Chubbs, forgive me I'm a Noob"

He looked at Joliette while he still held his hand out and try to keep a smile.

" I need to know, I've.. ah.. this suspicion they'd likely.. well make me a pig... and uh, ... I can find out, if you guys want.. I mean.. I wanna be useful to ya... not just the guy that umm. makes sure ya miss out on donuts"

He smiled lightly at his joke

Awen Zyn
Feeling Jamal's muscles tense Awen gave his shoulder a little nuzzle. She was reminding him she was there for him... she looked up though at the man. He had...changed a lot more than when she last saw him. Wolf, just like Sabin had said. But still something wasn't quite right...

"Ambrose?" She tested under her breath. "I thought his name was Andy..." She shrunk down on her chair a little bit blushing, glad she hadn't said hi first or she would have made a major goof.

"Um...Hi." She said more strongly and smiled to him.

Giggling at Chubb's new joke...she was giggling a lot.... She shook her head. "I'm really too scared to know.. to be honest... I have some..suspicions..."

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose took a shaking breath as he seated himself, nodding hesitantly to Jamal. At least.... all of them knew, he reassured himself, stisll cursing his bad luck at the assortment of people in the cafeteria. At least Emelyn wasn't there...

And, beyond that.... they at least seemed to be trying to pretend things were normal.. and for now... that was good enough.

"I... hope you're doing better today, Jamal..." Ambrose forced a smile, after wiping at his eyes.

"And Hi, Joli..." He nodded to her.

He turned fully to the large man who he hadn' seen before, and looked surprised at the hand before taking it with an air of respect of the courage that he could image that it must have taken. "It's... nice to meet you, er.... Chubbs.." he smiled... although the smile didn't quite seem that enthusiastic. His voice seemed strained.

He nodded to Awen, "Yes... it's Ambrose." He confirmed.... "Though... you'll have to forgive me... your name was...?"

He sliced roughly at a piece of steak, chewing it roughly before swallowing. His movements were jerky, and after a few bites he ran his han akwardly through his hair.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal broke the odd trance he found himself in and then glanced at Joliette. "Boxpring? Ooh...OH. Sorry, yeah, brotha can help ya out wit' dat wheneva." A light smirk graced his lips at the mention of Awen getting smooshed by the matress...poor thing.

Chubbs offer was then given a faint headshake. "Might be betta if I found out fo' maself...I ain't handling second hand info all that well as of late."

Then his eyes flitted cautiously to Ambrose, whom had taken a seat next to him. Today though, the intense fear that the wolf might have encountered that day was muted..it was more of an uneasiness than anything. He noted the younger man's fidgetting. "You a'ight?"

Joliette Rigiel
"I won't stop you chubbs, but they may not tell you other people's info. I certainly don't want to press 0 again after my last experience" she made a disgusted face "Thanks Jamal" she said and looked towards ambrose when Jamal spoke to him pausing with her food, his question seemed accurate, Ambrose soomed , well she wasn't sure, but not his usual optomistic self

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs felt a lil deflated, back home he had a reason, he was somebody to someone... the kids. Even if that's all he had, it still made him a better person knowing that. Here, he was really nothing, nothing useful he could do, and the only thing he thought to do, no one really wanted. Awens giggles helped though, she was good to be around.

Chubbs shook the hand of Ambrose, it felt so furry, and he smiled at least, was a good thing. He looked bout as nervous to meet him as Chubbs was of Ambrose. He sorta felt out of place here, seems people were already friends, and he was just meeting them. Ambrose's steak looked good, Chubbs needed something to occupy himself before he lost it in front of them

" I'll just, umm .. find out bout me.. see how I go. Hmm, think I'll go get something"

Chubbs got up and headed over to the food with shuffled feet and hands in pockets.

Awen Zyn
Awen shifted a little bit n her chair. Something seemed to be wrong with Ambrose... now that Jamal had mentioned it. "I'm um..Awen..." She said meakly to his question looking concerned for the furry guy. But...she didn;t really know what to say and something shifted inside of her.

All of a sudden she just had to clear out. Something about being around people right then made her stomach turn around. She looked between the four others and gave a little smile.

"Hey uh... you know I think I need some air..." She stood up slowly. "I'm gonna head out and...catch you guys later okay?" She gave Jamal a small kiss on hte cheek and everyone else a wave.

She waited for their responces if any then turned and headed towards the door.

Before she left she paused. "Feel better Ambrose..." She said softly before turning and heading out.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose looked back to Jamal, pleasantly surprised at the question. He HAD come here to talk.... he had just hoped to encounter some of hte people he knew better.... who he had already begun to tell of his situation here... that miht be able to understand better... or offer advice. Now, if he wanted to talk, there was.... a lot to talk about to say the least.

An ear flicked back at Jamals question. "Not... not so much, really..." Ambrose winced. "It.... it's a long story." He sighed.

Looking back to Chubbs he ran a hand through his blonde hair again. "I'm sorry... Chubbs" It sounded as if he was having difficulty calling the big man that, like it should be an insult instead of a name. But he had gotten used to Dude at least. "I... it's been a rough morning for me.... it's not that I am not pleased to meet you... and more so that at least my presence alone isn't calling for a barrage of questions." He wasn't sure if he could handle that this morning. He nodded to him as he went to go fetch himself some food, taking the opportunity to take several more hungry bites of his own.

He mused over the topic of coversation. Despite his own change, it suddently became very relevant all over again. Ambrose considered himself having been exceedingly lucky... but now it was time to play roulette all over again. "I... assume from the conversation... you guys sound worried about your serums..." He winced. "I.... know how you feel."

Ambrose lookd up suddenly as Awen shot up. HE was about to repeat the formalized greeting when she shot up. In his state of mind, he was about to worry that it was something he said when she gave a sincere well-wishing.

However, the peck to Jamal's cheek, while it gave a small smile, only seemed to aggravate the issues in his mind.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal managed true sympathy for Ambrose but was interrupted as Awen flittered up from her seat with a declaration for a need of air and kissed him on the cheek.
"I'll be out in a bit, a'ight?" he said before she managed to disappear, then turned back to the group.

The mention of uncertainty over the serums made him nod and grimace, a hand passing uneasily through the parts of his cornrows. "I ain't got no idea what they got in store fo' me....dat's what be worryin' me."

Joliette Rigiel
"Bye Awen" Joliette called to her as she left and looked towards the others once more "You know Ambrose, if you need ears, theres none better then your fellow islanders" she said softly "And yes, concern over hte serums is high, I worry Sabin may have chosen one that is not vegetarian or vegan" she paled slightly at the thought

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked, midway through putting a couple of hamburgers on a plate. Ambrose was sorry. Chubbs turned about a bit, listening to him. Ambrose was having problems, of course he was, but Chubbs hadn't thought about that, he was worried bout himself. Chubbs felt a twinge of guilt, he wanted to make Ambrose feel better some how.

" It's okay, it's the name right?"

Chubbs made his way back to the table, settling down in his chair.

" It's ..ummm really fine, I..I gave myself the name... I'd rather had been called that than hefher, or, ya know?"

Chubbs looked between the three, leaning on the table.

" I'm gonna find..umm.. find out... I hope... but I know I'm new... and ah all.. and you don't know me... I'm not going anywhere... and I'm a great listener....ask my mum"

He gave a bit of a smile

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose decided that, for the moment, perhaps it would be easier to talk with them about their anxieties. Perhaps that way, at least, he could try to not worry so much about his own and... in a way.... maybe even figure out a way to help Angelna with some of her own fears.

"I... know another person.... who just arrived." He fidgeted for a moment, took a bite of steak. "She's really worried about that as well.... as am I. I was spared... really.. this waiting period. I was the fist one here to change to my knoweldge. But that brought with it a whole different set of issues."

Ambrose smiled to Chubbs. He couldn't help it, he seemed like a nice guy, and another person who didn't deserve to be here. "Yeah... I'm sorry - I mean, I see what you're saying, but me, I'd just call you whatever you'd like to be called.... or your real name.... And good luck - that takes a lot of courage. I hope that it's something that you can live with." He replied hoenstly.

Ambrose looked at Joliette consideringly. "I don't know this... Sabin fellow.... but I've seen the technicians make decisions that seem.... cruel... in a word. A woman, Cassidy... terrified of snakes... and I'll give you two guesses what serum they gave her. I know that this probably isn't sounding comforting" Ambrose backtracked, miserably. "I'm probably just making things sound worse."

He sighed deeply, looked to his three companions, then took a risk. "Have.... have any of you... ever known somone you really care about.... and something happend between you and you thought that things were irreparable.... or that you'd never... you know... see eachother again..... then... surprise!" He held his hands out, his voice mimicking the scared smile on his face. "And it's wonderful to see her.... but there are.... complications... beyond that.... LOTS .... of complications..."

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal silently cursed, his worries confirmed as Ambrose explained the Doctor's evil nature...purposefully picking out things that their captive wouldn't like.

However, Ambrose started to speak again of a situation that he'd sort of been in before...but somehow there was enough of a difference to it to where he didn't agree nor disagree. he just listened.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette put her salad fork down and leaned on the table "No, but perhaps getting it off your chest will help Ambrose" she said softly trying to be as supportive as she could given the circumstanses

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled a bit at Ambrose, he was a nice guy, kinda like a drinking buddy.

" Chubbs is fine, I uh kinda got use to it now"

He took a big bite out of his burger, it may have been huge for others, but that was normal for Chubbs, he had a big mouth. Chubbs listened to Ambrose, who seemed to have trouble explaining. Afterwards, He offered a situation, and hoped maybe it would sounds similair.

" I ... ah well, my dad... he um.. walked out on mum... and I found him , like down the pub, I umm got a bit mad and broke his nose"

Chubbs blushed a bit, and looked down at his food and not the others.

" Been like 4 years since I had... umm... senn him.. and I well... he came for my grandfather's funeral... I thought I'd like never see him again"

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose shrugged, feeling rather on-the spot. There was so much background. "It.... it's really a long story..." He said with a shake of his head.

He raised his eyebrows at Chubb's story. "Ouch..." He shifted a bit awkwardly. By the sounds of things: a father who walked out on his mother and a deceased grandfather, Chubbs had had his experience of hardships. Ambrose's relationship problem now seemed... well... definately differet.

Finally, he took a breath. "Back home... I had been in a wonderful relationship.... we had been seeing eachother for about three years... Angelina.... well... she was wonderful. I had thought maybe someday we'd.... you know.... get married.

Then.... THIS happened. I get whisked away to this Island. Supposedly for 'two weeks'. My heart is broken when I hear the truth. I never... you know.... even really got to say good bye. From what I Hear, I assume they tell her I died somehow. For the longest time, I hold out hope that maybe, someday, somehow, I 'll see her again.."

He swallowed.

"Then I got my third injection. And things ... reality, I guess... crashes down around my now furry ears. They're never going to let me go. Even if I escape, they say I' get cancer and probably die a horrible, painful death. So I start to try to face the hard facts that I will probably never see her again.... I'm lonely.... I need someone to confide in... to.... you know... share things with.... and I start to move on...

Emelyn.... Emelyn is a wonderful person. She really has been helping me through this - see the better sides of things, make me smile, and listen to my concerns - no matter how selfish or stupid they might be. The other night... we got closer..."

He blushed.

"Then... y..yesterday...." He took a breath. "Angelina.... she.... she showed up. HERE. She... she was looking for me... she never gave up hope.... she dug too deep and they lured her here to 'see me'. Now she's trapped here too. And... and God I missed her so much. But... now she's trapped here. I mean, I woudln't wish this on my enemies let alone her.. But I feel guilty for enjoying seeing her. But.... but I admit... Emelyn... and she's upset - rightfully so! But.... what can I do to help her understand I stilll love her.... and.. and... Emelyn! I really do care for her.... and she needs someone here as well... and and..." He dropped his face to his chin. "I don't know what to do...." He whimpered.

Ambrose really, REALLY wished that there were still alcohol on the island.

Jamal_Reedy
Ouch...this was QUITE the situation Ambrose had caught himself in. Sadly, he was so poor at really offering serious advice and felt he was more or less taking up important space here in a council that he had little to offer.

"s**t man, I wish I could offa some help, but...damn," he said lamely, shifting in his seat until he finally stood up. "This sorta stuff I ain't so good at...so I'mma excuse maself. Gotta go find Awen anyway and make sure she a'ight."

He did offer Ambrose a pat on the shoulder as he slipped around; he really was trying very hard to deal with all these changes.

"Ya'll have a good one, a'ight?" he said in his most friendly manner, though still it sounded a little curt, before disappearing in the same direction as the blue haired woman.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette frowned slightly "That is a sticky situation Ambrose, I can certainly see your point of thoughts, I can't blame you for it, it's likely to be a rough road ahead, If love is true though Angelina will see you didn't mean to hurt her, as for Emelyn, that weels like a trickier situation, I'm not certain I could give advice there"

Chubbs MacKraken
Every Insult fly into Chubbs' mind to through at the people that did this. Not only did this poor guy lose everything, had to suffer like he had, then they throw in the person he most cared about and made him watch her suffer too. Chubb's frowned and tried to hide the fact he was just about to shed tears.

" ... I...... woa... you ah, told her at .. um least.... you did the right thing...But I've... I ah... never like kissed a girl yet... so... I'd try to ... help but umm, ya may think me silly"

Chubbs didn't even blush that time, his fingers were white from his clenched hand, he wanted to yell at the idiots who did this. He could handle what happened, but no one deserved what Ambrose got

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose nodded to Jamal as he got up to go. "Thanks for listening... at least. And... uhm... good luck with Awen. She seemed like something startled or upset her." He nodded his thanks at the shoulder pat.

He looked in turn to Joliette. "I... I certainly hope she will come around.... admittedly... she's had quite the shock with .... well... everything hitting her at once. I wish I Didn't haven't to be the bearer of bad news to her of all people... But I really really don't know what to say to Emelyn.... especially since she already felt kind of left behind in favor of another with another person here already... that will remain nameles...."

Ambrose blinked at Chubbs, then at Joliette and put a hand to his forehead. Ambrose hardly considered himself an expert at the whole dating thing, but to have met two people in as many days who had NEVER had a relationship before? And add that to Greer... and these were older people... "Well.... thanks..." He said awkwardly. "I think it's best I told her too.... I think it would have been worse to not tell her... have this secret that ate at me. Even though it was an inopportune time.... I couldn't keep that from her."

Ambrose frowned as well, and took several big bites out of the steak with a sigh. With Jamal gone... and as little as he admittedly would trust dating suggestions from a gansta.... that left two people with NO experience, and his heart sunk deeper.

"I... should probably.. I don't know.... get back or something." He looked at the uneaten piece of chocolate cake. "I wonder if I can even eat that now.... isn't chocolate poisenous to.... canines..?" Ambrose winced, looking as if he just got a moutful of something distasteful.

Joliette Rigiel
"I truly wish you the best with that Ambrose, honest I do." she sighed softly, suddenly her problems didn't seem quite so bad "I don't think poisoness" she said quietly "And please remind me not to press 0 any time in the near future"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked at the cake, as the oppurtunity hit, he thought he could lighten the mood, even if he was pissed.

" Ya can .. ah..always rely on me for.. like, food disposal, ... if not.. to listen"

He smiled on one corner of his mouth, he tried but the feeling wasn't there. He felt completely useless, and it was aweful. But he tried his best.

" The well.. see.. it's.. not like I don't want a girlfriend... I just.. couldn't find one... and ah...well... those that.. well sit on the side and watch.. kinda learn alot"

Chubbs stroked his fuzzy cheek.

" I .. I can't know what it'd be like in .. well your shoes... but Em..Em ah, I forgot her name..I think you should let her know... like umm soon.. and from you...... If ya like... I can be there for ya?"

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose took a breath and summoned a weak smile for the two of them.

"Thanks... I... I know it's not going to be easy... in any aspect. But honestly, thanks for listening, both of you." He gave a more sincere smile to Chubbs as he patted his cheek. He really did seem like a nice guy.

"Help yourself." He said, sliding the plate in the big man's direction. "And good luck to you here. If you need someone else to listen to anything of yours. Well, I'm in Duplex 1." He offered, standing.

A nap sounded exceedingly nice. With the stress and the full belly, he could shut out the world for a while. Then.... deal with relationship issues.

Joliette Rigiel
"Sleep well Ambrose, and best of luck" Joliette said with a soft smile truly hoping he did have good luck.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs waved to Ambrose, sighed and looked to Joliette, then stood up.

" I have to get to my ah..room, take care of some things ...ya know?...Anything ya need ....umm request wise I can put in?

He headed over to the door, shuffling, just to the left he found his boxing bag and with a grunt, hoisted it onto his shoulders and turned back to Joliette.

Joliette Rigiel
"No I should be fine thanks Chubbs, I dont need more Naff clothing Appreciate the offer though, see you soon" She sighed and looked down at her plate and just picked at it for a while

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs nodded, waved a little and headed out. Even though there were neighbours she'd probably pass him anyway.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette eventually gave up eatting and left as well returning to her own duplex

Joliette had been heading back to her own duplex when she heard a loud *crash* from nearby, after a moment of staring at the door of her neighbour's duplex she decides to see if he's ok. She walks up to the door and knocks on it

Chubbs was scrunching up his face, pulling out the plastic as he ran his hand under the tap in the sink. He got them out when he heard a tapping on his door. Someone was there, if it was any of he island staff, they picked the wrong time.

" It's open"

Joliette turned the knob and slowly opened the door "Chubbs? Are you ok?" she asked softly as she took a step into his unit and looked around her eyes coming to light on the smashed intercom and widened

The accent hinted to him right away that it was Joliette, he sighed and realized she was his neighbour. All that yelling probably just scared the crap outta her. Chubbs made his way out of the bathroom, peeling off his glove on his right hand. Looking over at Joliette, he feel a little embarrassed for her to see him like this.

" I'm fine... I uh.. just hurt my hand a little"

Joliette looked back towards him "You smashed the intercom? what happened?" she had heard some raucous but couldn't quite make it out. "And are you ok?" she walked closer to help if he needed it

Chubbs looked down at his hand, it was bleeding still, he stretched and curled his fingers. He had to cover it up, and with his left hand he unzipped his bag and started searching through it.

" I...I got so mad... it's enough they.. they gotta do this to people.... but look.. at what they ah.. did to Ambrose....and.. the girl that hates snakes... I mean.. they deliberately trying to make us snap?"

Chubbs sniffed back the tears forming in his eyes, He wanted to make everything better for everyone around him. If others were happy, he'd be happy for them, but if they were upset, he would be for them also.

" I told them.... I umm said.. they can't d**k with us any more... I won't sit here and.. and let them do that"

Chubbs lowered his head, still searching through his bag, his cheeks all red

" I told Sabin off, I told him.. he uh... well he better get his act together....or I'm not gonna... umm.. let him rest"

"Good luck, that gormless arse isn't likely to change, I request clothes and he sends me stuff I would never wear, most of it for a slag." she sighed "Would you like a hand wrapping that up? you only really seem to have one free hand right now" she asked him moving slower to where he was riffling through his bag

Chubbs nodded, and pointed to his bag

"There's ah, well a few bandages at the, umm bottom I think, I umm I use em for hand wraps"

Chubbs sat on his bed on the edge and picked up a towel he had on the floor, sticking his hand in that for now.

" I know it's a bad offer, but umm... ya well, welcome to like, use some of mine... I mean you could make something out of the umm material.. or I think my ah shirt might, like do for a nightshirt"

Chubbs couldn't help but blush a bit

Joliette started digging in the bag pulling a few things out and putting them aside so she could get further into the bag. She heard offer and looked up at him with a smile "Thankyou Chubbs I appreciate the offer, If I can just convince them to send me a couple pairs of khakis and plain cotton shirts I will be good" she smiled returning to digging till she found what she was looking for. She stood up and pulled a portion loose to give her a starting point, wrapping hands wasn't anything new, she'd a couple times wrapped the hands of newer martial arts students who hurt them on the boards

Chubbs was feeling alot calmer. It happens, specially with a female presence. It was like beauty and the beast, Yeah, beast alright... He was going to be a freakish freak among freaks. Typical, just when he was starting to belong. He held his hand up, letting her do her wrapping. She was really good at it, Chubbs started growing goosebumps.

" I ah, well.. found out what I was.. well, I guess I am to be"

Joliette looked curious though she didn't look away from what she was doing jsut yet "What fif the git say they gave you to become?" she asked quietly making sure the wrap was snug but not tight and soon tying off the ends in a typical belt knot similar to the belt around her Gi right then

Chubbs turned his hand around and smiled shyly at her. She knew her stuff. He twisted around to face her some more, bending one leg up on the bed, he took a breath

" Apparently... well... bear.. and Tasmanian devil.... and umm wolverine"

He was still trying to understand it himself

"Three animals?" Joliette blinked "Is that even possible?... wait don't answer that, everything I've seen happening here I would never imagined ever possible and I'm sure I haven't seen it all yet" she sighed and moved his belongings back to the bag before sitting on the edge of the bed beside him to talk

He scooted back enough to give her room, but he also wanted to rest his back against the wall. Stroking his bandage softly, he looked over to her and looked so clueless.

" I.. I'm surprised I'm , well, not a hippo or, a pig, you know? They well, they've hurt everyone else"

"They don't seem to be predicable, in some cases a little predictable it seems but not all, and if the gormless arse is involved I would put nothing past him. Whether it be good or bad... What do you think of what they are going to attempt to change you to?" she asked sitting and facing him her hands in her lap

Chubbs twisted his cap around backwards and rested his head against the wall,

" I .. I dunno. They are like all nasty meat eaters aren't they? I know to the kids... well... I'll be a monster... and to the islanders?... well, I figure.. I'll umm be like .. I was to humans, out there in the world"

"You know the impressions I've gotten so far here so far is everyone is very supportive of each other, we're all trapped and we are all having things done to us against our will, noone here will thing you are a monster." she said watching him "You have too kind a nature for that to ever happen anyways"

Chubbs blushed and chuckled a tiny bit as he pulled his hat back around the right way and pulled it down over his face.

" Hehe quit that"

Joliette laughed "Am I spoiling your reputation?" she said teasingly with a smile

Chubbs smiled a bit and then tucked his legs up and rested his arms on his knees, peering over at her.

" Nah, well just, I'm never good with umm... compliments"

"I don't see why you shouldn't be, perhaps some day you'll get used to compliments" she smiled fidgetting with the ends of her belt, she ffelt at ease talking with him

Chubbs smiled shyly over his knees, rubbing the back of his hand.

" Just never got , ah too many.. of em... so maybe.. one day"

Chubbs looked down at his he hand and blinked then pointed to it with a blush

" Oh and ah, oh thanks.. for.. my hand... was a bit silly, I know"

"You are welcome, and to be honest, I don't believe it was, you were angry and it was an outlet to release that anger, I vented anger a few days ago, I tore apart the fake movie script Sabin gave me when I got here in his 'this is a movie set' ruse he pulled over on me" she admitted

Chubbs, always the light hearted, made a joke in the situation, motioning to the intercom.

" Well ah... I .. at least.. won't be needin anything.. soon hey?"

He smiled a bit and scratched his chin

" Fake movie hmm?.. I was just well thinkin like, umm last night... we could like put on a play.. for fun"

"A play? any particular theme in mind Chubbs?" she asked ever the journalist seeking tidbits of information on anything she thought may be of interest to the general public

Chubbs didn't believe she was interested. He thought his ideas were silly at times, but she seemed to want to know, he was kinda embarrassed about it

" I like um heroes, ya know.. and I uh.. thought.. we could like write something up. for like a medi evil fantasy thing"

He looked down at his shoes a bit

" Like ya know, we could have like umm... sword fights... and some kinda big monster... and princesses, kings... we can make parts up for like people of the island... I recon Ambrose makes for a nice knight"

Joliette smiled "Should bring this up as a group, and Ambrose is a fencer so I would imagine yes he would make a good knight" this could have possibilities, something to possibly bring spirits up within the islanders who seemed very on edge from what she'd observed

Chubbs chuckled, what were the odds?

" I didn't know that... that's pretty cool"

Chubbs looked over at Joliette and smiled

" I could see ya .. like umm.. like a Joan of Arc kinda kick a**.. well knight chick"

His cheeks reddened, why did everything coming from his mouth sound horrible?

Joliette chuckled "Short little me a knight? Perhaps if they can do martial arts, but I don't know how to fence or anything" she smiled

Chubbs scooted closer to her, enough to reach her. He believed in alot of things, and one was you can do anything if you put you're heart to it. In fact it was one of the first lessons he taught the children. So he wanted to show her the same

" When I taught the kids, ..I told the this...I may be big.. or umm look strong.. but it's not the size that matters"

Chubbs touched her on the forehead and then on her heart and rested his bandaged hand back on the bed

" It's what in here, and in here that counts"

Joliette smiled "You're right Chubbs, it is those things that count, not everyone believes that even if it's true. I know that one from experience from my career. " she watched him for a moment "I was right though... you do have a kind heart"

Chubbs smiled, getting a little bit smiffly and red in the cheeks

" Everyone needs a big brother right?"

She blinked, she hadn't really thought about that. "I guess, I never really thought about siblings, mom and dad never had any other children besides me"

Chubbs continued to keep smiling shyly, it was good to talk

" Me either.. but um.. I like to help... so I'm there for any, anyone that needs me"

Joilette smiled "Always a good thing" she put a hand to her mouth covering a yawn "I should get to my duplex, I think Delia in the town hall has painkillers if that hand starts to bother you" she said softly and stood up "We'll have to get together to talk more often, you are a good conversationalist."

Chubbs blushed again, he wastrying, but he couldn't help it. He slid and stood up to see her out

" Thanks. .. it's um okay.. I've been hit worse than this"

He held up his hand, as if it were minor

" I like talking too, i'll umm.. have to invite ya over for.. um a cuppa"

"Sounds like a plan, after I finish setting up my darkroom " she smiled "The equipment should be in tomorrow or so" she said "Take it easy, and dont break any more intercoms" she giggled and winked before turning and heading next door to her duplex

Chubbs nodded and blused brightly this time, chuckling a bit

" Will. erm try not to"

He then waved to her till she got inside and he closed his own door

Frustrations!
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The door to #28 was propped wide open and the resounding bangs of a hammer could be heard inside. Joliette was determined to get the room ready, she'd been told that day the supplies would arrive, and save for moving the box-spring for which she had to wait for Jamal on she wanted to be ready. She'd moved the desk back in deciding it would add nicely to the worksurface area. She'd removed any un-neccessary stuff and was in the process of finishing the boards that would finish blocking the sun out. Between the glass and the boards, black building paper, to get the tops of the windows with the boards she was using a chair to stand on.

She paused now and then to wander outside and look over the balcony "Where is it, he better not mess it up too" She'd mumble to herself if she didn't see it, she'd been doing it most of the day, and was beginning to get rather frustrated
She eventually got annoyed with waiting and left the darkroom heading for the town hall to return the hammer and leftover building supplies to the room

Joliette wandered intot he town hall and looked around remembering where the builing supplies were. After a moment she headed off in that direction and dropped them off and wandered into the cafeteria.. Alone, well that didn't bother her, she was frustraded anyways, perhaps a nice fruit salad and a glass of juice would calm her. She gathered these and sat down

Joliette finished her food then wandered back out and decided to go exploring and hope the darkroom stuff would be there when she returned

DAMN THAT WHITE HAIRED GIT!
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette was done her exploring for the day, heck she'd even manged to find her way back to the village without getting lost!, "Now what number might he be in..." she mused to herself hoping to locate Jamal and ask for that help with the boxspring. She wandered along the duplexes musing to hserself just how few numbers she knew the owners of. That is till she came to #7... she blinked and walked closer "Well that damned bloody gormless arse" she muttered using what she had deemed as sabin's name She put her hand to her face and sighed "I'm going to make that git replace anything that got wrecked here" she grumbled and wadded through the packing peanuts to the door unsure who exactly lived there and knocked

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal had just sat down on his bed, bubblewrap still in hand, when the soft rapping came from outside. He cocked a brow, wondering what they wanted...Awen would probably have just walked in and he didn't do anything to warrant Em to come and see what was going on....

"Comin," he grunted, cautiously coming to the door and cracking it open ever so slightly; if it was a damn doc, he was going to slam it shut and lock it.

A blink of surprise flashed across his features. "Joli?"

Joliette Rigiel
"Good day Jamal" she said with a smile glad to have found who she was looking for, "I hope this day is finding you well" she said, she made it plainly obvious she didn't blame HIM for the equipment "I guess I've killed two birds with one stone..." she looked up at the man with an amused look to see him holding bubblewrap which was partially popped

Jamal_Reedy
"What up," he managed, while at the same time hiding the clutched plastic behind the door, feeling rather conspicuous. Better to play it off...even though clearly Joliette had a reason for being there and he had a dull feeling it was because he might have just trashed something that might have been hers.

Joliette Rigiel
"I was searching for you to help maybe with that boxspring.. and by the looks of it maybe help me take the darkroom equipment the gormless arse left at your place to the darkroom duplex" she said pleasently with a smile fully intending to write a nasty note to sabin later and holding her frustrations back for that particular event

Jamal_Reedy
"Oh...oh yeah. I kin do dat," he said with some mild relief at the mention of the boxspring, though he did blance some then at her also mentioning darkroom equipment. Uh... "...is dat what all dat s**t be?" He rubbed the back of his neck anxiously, gaze flitting to the jug he'd dropped, which was now languidly dripping chemicals into the grass, which was in turn being sucked up by the cardboard box beside it.

Smooth, Jamal. Real smooth.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette looked over her shoulder and then back "Yes, stuff which I will make him replace if anything needs replacing" she smiled at him , he didn't know, how was he to know, he wasn't a photographer by trade. She had seen the bottle of chemicals and was glad to have requested more then enough to get started

Jamal_Reedy
The only thing the man knew about photography was you pushed a button on the top of a disposable and it would flash and take a picture (as long as his thumb wasn't over the lens, anyway). He managed a very sheepish and guilty smile. "Uh, sorry 'bout dat...I jus' looked 'round some, is all." He decided to omit the fact that he'd probably broken one of those weird lights in the process.

Jamal coughed, and moved the door open a little wider. "So...'bout that boxspring.." he queried, hopeful that the subject could be changed.

Joliette Rigiel
"No harm no foul" she said with a nod No no harm no foul on HIS part damn that white-haired git he can't get ANYTHING right she thought to herself "Yes, it's in duplex number 28, all ready to be hauled out of there" she told him her smile not leaving her face, she was a journalist, she could accomplish that

Jamal_Reedy
"Well, I ain't doin' nuthin' righ' now, so if ya want, I kin come move it now," he offered, letting the withered plastic wrap drop to the carpet behind the door in a ploy to maybe save some pride. Plus...there was still some life left in it.

Joliette Rigiel
"That sounds like a plan, shall we take some of this at the same time? saves a trip at least" Perhaps I can get Chubb to help haul some of it back she grumbled to herself she heard plastic land and ignored it her main thoughts was jsut how much she would need replaced

Jamal_Reedy
"A'ight, works fo' me..." he said agreeably, finally leaving the safety of his duplex, knowing Joli wasn't going to go apeshit on him for ruining her stuff. A casual glance went towards the box of lights; he'd try to carry that one and try to smuggle the broken light out.

He headed for it in the most nonchalant manner possible.

Joliette Rigiel
Joli smiled and turned looking at hte boxes and deciding just which one she'd manage to be able to carry, her decision landed on all the tray and other smaller equipment which proved to be a correct guess, but she tipped the spilling chemical up and capped it first pushing the other box away from the spill "It's this way" she said carrying the box and heading in the direction of her duplex Stupid gormless white-haired arse, damn him, all he did was cost more bloody money, oooooh I'm gonna send him a nasty note... Or maybe I can get hte courage up to press 0

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal hoisted the semi-heavy box up to his shoulder, finding that easier than trying to use his arm strength, and picked up step behind her. Faint clinking of broken glass chimed with each step, the pieces rattling against the metal casings inside. He pretended to ignore it though. It wasn't that loud, he could just hear it because his ear was pressed more or less to the box.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette led him up the steps to #28 and unlocked the door walking in, it was dark in there.. VERY dark, least until Joliette put down the box and flipped on a light "Come in Jamal" she said with a smile, the main room was basically empty, boxspring leaning against a wall, the dresser and desk pushed up against the same wall and the armchair stuffed as far into the corner as possible, and every single window was boarded up with wood and the curtain rods were empty

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal unceremoniously dropped the light box on top of the desk, or rather, daintly placed so nothing else would break, then glanced around. Where -was- everything? And what the hell was she planning to do?

"s**t girl, where you be sleepin?" he asked with a slightly befuddled expression on his face. "Ain't no way I could live in herr."

In a way, it reminded him vaguely of the ghetto...boarded windows, haphazard furniture arranged in an abandoned looking building....

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette laughed "This isn't my duplex Jamal I don't sleep here, mine is downstairs, this will be the darkroom, where I will develop photographs" she smiled "It has to be completely dark in here except for special lighting so the exposures don't get ruined" she explained

Jamal_Reedy
"....Oh." Duh Jamal.

He rubbed his forehead briefly, again in an attempt to cover his stupidity, before looking at the boxspring. Didn't look TOO heavy...he ought to be able to manage it. The black man wandered over to it and tested out it's weight.

"So where's dis goin' then? Outside and then they gonna pick it up?"

Joliette Rigiel
"Yes please just against the building, the other matress seems to be gone already so I presume they took it" She said with a nod pulling open the box she had put down, thankfully it had not been opened yet and she smiled seeing hte trays

Jamal_Reedy
"A'ight," he said simply, then moved the boxspring away from the wall so he could guess where the best gripping place might be. The underside of it was already sort of patchy, the soft cottony film that usually covered access to the wooden braces was torn in various spots. Using those, he got his hands on solid wood and hefted the thing up off the ground, then semi-staggered to the door.

Oh...damn. Stairs.

He paused at the top, trying to figure the best way to go about this without killing himself. Jamal did try, however, to not appear as though he needed help. He could do this! He was a big strong man...who was probably going to hurt himself in the process.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette started pulling the stuff out of the box and depositing it in drawers, luckily this particular box was unharmed. She didn't realize he was having dificulty and just kept emptying the box

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal stared down the staircase as the Jeopard theme song played in his head, searching for a good idea as how to go about this. Maybe he could just...run down the stairs really fast and get it over with? Or hell...maybe he should just throw it. That'd be nice and easy...

He dragged the boxspring closer to the first step as he contemplated this.

Joliette Rigiel
She left the other box for the time being and headed for hte door intrigued to still see him standing there, she leaned against the wall and watched him. She was curious just how the blackman would get the boxspring down, she wondered if he'd do the same thing she had with the top matress, and if he'd check for persons first before doing so

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal hmmmed....and hmmmmed some more. Finally, he just decided to go with the "throw it over" method. Not like anyone was going to be sleeping on it...at least, not right now. He was unaware that he'd become some mundane source of entertainment for the moment; he was too busy pushing the bed piece further out to where he could prop it against the railing.

Joliette Rigiel
"Do make sure noone is below, it's a might heavier then the top matresss" she said when it became obvious he was indeed going to throw it over the edge. She smiled, she wondered just how the people who had buillt the place had gotten it up, she presumed using at least 2 people

Jamal_Reedy
Oh...that was probably a good idea.

He gave the ground a furative glance, looking for signs of life before beginning to tug it forward so it would eventually teeter over the railing. It was pretty heavy, being made of wood and all, but not too bad.

It took a bit of force to get the thing get up over the rail, but once it was teetering haphazardly on it, Jamal gave it a shove, sending the furniture tumbling to the ground blow. It hit with a loud thwack rightside up.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled "Thankyou Jamal, that gets rid of that" she walked out onto the balcony with him "Now it's just a matter of getting the rest of those boxes and crates up here, willing to help?"

Jamal_Reedy
"A'ight...I can carry a few of 'em. Though, I think them sinks are prolly too heavy ta be carried by jus' one person. Prolly need sum otha muscle in fo' dat." His first thought was Chubbs. That guy looked hellastrong. Plus, he was apparently a boxer and those guys had to be pretty buff.

Joliette Rigiel
She nodded "Yes that will require more hten one, the rest should be doable though I would imagine, long as the people who packaged them weren't too stupide when they packed it all up" she looked back at the door and smiled, she could leave it open for now at least

Jamal_Reedy
He nodded. "A'ight then. Lets go get da rest 'n get it ova with." Jamal more or less galloped down the stairs, pausing beside the boxspring long enough to heave it onto it's side again and place it against the sturdy building's wall.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette followed him down a smile on her face dispite that anger at the doctor that flowed within. "Aye lets get it over with" least she had help she thought as they began to make hte trips required to bring most of it back.

Jamal_Reedy
He followed after her then, humming a bit under his breath as they tromped off to retrieve the rest of the goods. At least he was doing something other than sitting around boredly in his room.

...but at least he'd have bubblewrap.

Joliette Rigiel
"Jamal, thankyou for your help, I do appreciate it" she said with a smile a thought in her mind for later.

Jamal_Reedy
"Ain't nuthin' really," he said nonchantly as they walked. "Gives me sumthin' ta do, ya know? Either this o' sittin' in my room. At leas' I be gettin some workout doin' this." He sorely missed his normal workout sessions back at his friend's place in Detriot; the guy had his own set of weights that both he and Jamal worked with on a daily basis. Here there were no such things, as far as he was aware.

Jamal_Reedy
"Maybe...though I figger weights prolly gonna be harder to get since they be so big and bulky." He didn't admit that he'd never used the intercom system and didn't plan on it unless he absolutely had to. Otherwise he'd probably start swearing and cussing at whomever answered and that would only cause more problems.

He browsed through the stacks of the remaining boxes, finding another with chemicals, and lugged it up into the air.

Joliette Rigiel
"Perhaps request it in the way of a note, it's how I put in the specifics for this request, and just think, if they can bring over a photography sink, I'm sure they can get some weights" she smiled taking what she could and heading back

Jamal_Reedy
He mused over the idea briefly as he strained to carry the heavy jugs the distance to Joliette's place. "I guess yous right...got a big list o' stuff I want anyway. Might as well add dat to da list...though I just ain't sure if I wanna have no communication wit' them assholes. I'da been better off not bein' stuck wit' a needle and not having weights than da otha way 'round."

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette sighed, "It doesn't matter, even if you turn it once you are here, they'll still give it, I found that out the hard way. It's how I wound up getting it, I turned it down, and they did something to make me black out, and gave it to me then"

Jamal_Reedy
"Bastards," he said gruffly, eyes narrowing as she explained what'd happened to her. "I wonda why I ain't changed yet. Been herr fo' awhile now...I half 'spect to wake up wit' a tail o' sumthin' herr shortly."

He didn't know that a second injection was needed to start any sort of visible change...and once he did, he'd probably be paranoid as all hell.

Joliette Rigiel
She looked back at him before going into the darkroom "I think this whole place makes us wonder, why they are doing this, why us, why haven't we all started changing right away..." she put the box down "And how are we ever going to get out of it all"

Jamal_Reedy
He hauled his load into the room and plunked it down on the desk beside the lights, a hand then going up to wipe his brow. "I almost think they ain't got no real reason otha than to play God," he said, not bothering to keep the bitterness out of his voice. "Them people is sick, I swear. I think they also ain't really completely righ' in the head. Maybe they ain't realizin' what they be doin'."

The black man leaned on the chemical box to catch his breath, a dark expression on his face that mirrored his bitter tone.

Joliette Rigiel
"Jamal that is one fact you couldn't have my more complete agreement on. This Moreau guy is wacked in the head, but I think Sabin is coming pretty close to equalling that loose screw" She sighed

Jamal_Reedy
"I only met that Sabin guy once...but yeah, I 'gree wit'choo there." He shuddered at the thought of the guy; he was pretty damn creepy. Aubrey didn't seem to be that bad, but...she was the one who stuck him with the serum, so he couldn't help but at least resent her for having a part in it.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette sighed "Should we get hte last couple boxes? I'll ask Chubbs later if he can help move the sink... it'll be a task for another time" Then I have a nasty letter to write she added to herself

Jamal_Reedy
He nodded in agreement. "Didn't seem to be much mo' we can carry ourselves anyway," he muttered, tromping back down the stairs for what felt to be the dozenth time. "Makes me wonda how they got it all in front o' my door so easy. I ain't seein' that Sabin guy doin' this himself."

Joliette Rigiel
"I don't know, probably with a vehicle when noone was watching" she followed after him to get hte last of hte stuff the two of them could manage together

Jamal_Reedy
"I guess," he said lamely with a shrug. "I ain't seein' no otha vehicles 'round herr otha than the jeep I was brought out in. But I guess they gotta have 'em 'round some place. Too bad dis be an island...I'd just steal a damn jeep and drive out of herr."

He'd done more than his share of car theft back home. He was damn near a pro at it, in all actuality.

As they reached the pile, he sorted through the boxes and found a lighter one for Joliette to carry, then took the second lightest for himself.

Joliette Rigiel
"Wouldn't that be nice, or my boat, though I know thats in a million pieces now" she took the box and headed back

Jamal_Reedy
"Bastards."

Jamal sighed in frustration at the fact that the Docs were one step ahead of everyone, but somewhere he was holding out hope that one day they would fall behind and the islanders would finally find a way out of this hellhole.

He mutely continued the jaunt back to Joliette's duplex, climbing the stairs slowly as his muscles finally started to complain at him. He was so out of shape and he knew it.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette deposited the box and smiled "Thanks Jamal, I appreciate it" she said after turning to him, I have to go through all this and check it against my list and figure out what hte git needs to replace" she nodded

Jamal_Reedy
He actually flushed a bit at the mention of things needing to be replaced.
"Uh yeah...dat's prolly a good idea," he agreed, giving the light box a very quick look. "And dis time if it shows up at my place, I ain't gonna get nosy and start diggin' 'round."

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette chuckled "You didn't know, I don't hold that against you..." she smiled "I'll see if Chubbs will help with that sink, I think thats just about it really"

Jamal_Reedy
"Lemme know when ya get 'im and I'll come out n' help," he offered in a weak sort of apology for the damage he caused.

Joliette Rigiel
"Will do, thanks again" she smiled then looked around her and pondered where to start

Jamal_Reedy
Since Joliette looked about ready to tear into her new trinkets, he started to slide towards the door. "A'ight, well, I'mma head back to my place then. Gotta pick up some of the mess in there b'fo I can't get inside da door anymo'"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled "Alright have a good evening Jamal" she smiled and waved then sat down amongst her boxes

Jamal_Reedy
He gave her a stiff nod and a brief wave before heading back outside, walking down the steps for the last time for awhile (at least he hoped) and headed back to his duplex.

Colche
It had been a day and a night between her transformation and her reemergence in to the world. Her back ached still, a soft dull throbbing that just wouldn't subside no matter how much she rested. She theought it a better idea perhaps, to go out and see what was going on outside. She tried to smile, at least a little but her dark blue eyes were shrouded in sadness, perhaps some wheer deep inside she felt a little abused she trusted everyone so much, especially Aubrey, Aubrey was like her mother and she clung to the woman like glue when ever she saw her. Her fuzzy ears moved slightly as she licked ehr lips making her way to the cafeteria, she was hungry, food could take president right now over any other thoughts.

Entering she smiled at the cafeteria lady, she sat at the tabe nearest the food bar and was offerd a varied brekfast along with a spork. A soft sigh escaped her as she tried to cast away the dissapointment she felt, she cared not about the transformation, she simply felt a little upset that it had hurt so much, Aubrey had never hurt her before and she loved this island, she just wished she could understand what was happening a little better, she felt she was always in the dark.

Licking her lips, the scent of food far over powering her sence of gentle depression she dug in to the meal happily, big breakfasts, she liked them alot always ending ti by nibbling a peice of toast. Shehad decided that it was time to try out her new cloathes so she had put on a pair of silky panties and one of her new t shirts (the one with the kitty in the pocket), she had also draggedalong her new gizmo, the leap pad was quickly becoming her friend.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette walked into he cafeteria stylus in one hand palm pilot in the other going over her list of equipment and deciding what needed to be replaced as well as beginning her draft of her rather pissed of letter, she didn't look up till after she picked up a bowl of salad . It was that girl, now that was intersting, she'd changed "Hello" she said softly nearing Colche's table

Colche
Colche lifted her head, her bright blue eyes surprised to see somone, she was usually alone at this time of day. She smiles softly, the smile not touching those cool blue eyes "Hulo" she whispers, she felt rather rough still so her voice was even more tame than it usually was, though she would usually be hyper at this time of day. Lukily for her the lady whom served the food had slipped a couple of painkillers in to her food so she wouldprobably start feeling better soon, but right now she just felt tired and sore.

Joliette Rigiel
"How are you Colche" she said quietly putting down her bowl and pocketing the palmpilot and stylus before sitting down. It was obvious she didn't seem as happy as the first time she had met the girl

Colche
Colche rubbed her eyesa little, they were sore, everything was sore "owie" she whispers standing up and turning around to show Joliette her newly grown tail "owie" she pouts a little, she was trying hard to stay happy but she ached so much right now it wasn't the best of times for anyone to try and get much more than that out of the slender girl.

Joliette Rigiel
"I'm sorry" she said softly seeing what the girl showed her and growled inwardly at the changes they had done to the girl she didn't know what else to say

Colche
Colche smiles greatfully sitting back down with a slight grimace "sokies." she sighs a little, nothing had changed really, she was still happy just a little sore today, she guessed it would go away eventually, or at least she hoped it would.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled weakly and started eatting wondering to herself what the girl was turning into, and at the same time what the git had chosen for her. Colche seemed quiet to her that day, she figured it had to do with her change

Colche
Colche gave a low puurr at this point settling back in to her seat she smiles lightly, the painkillers slowly started to work their magic and her tail bone started to ache ledd "Chocolate cake?" she asked Joliette, standing and popping over to the counter getting two very large slices of double chocolate sponge cake. She places them both down and licks her lips "nice" she states still flinching a bit as she resat, she guessed she would be a little sore for a few more days, but she didn't care about the change, just that it hurt right now.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette looked up somewhat startled and then looked at the cake "Oh dear" she said looking at the cake Colche had brought her back, "Thankyou Colche, yes cake is nice, but I can't eat it" she said softly then quickly went to get herself a piece of fruit pie and sat down again "This is nice too" she smiled and took a bite

Colche
Colche tilted ehr head softly looking at the peice of pie, she didn't quite understand the word, couldn't eat. She shrugs a bit and eats a slice of the cake happily covering ehr lips and nse in cream and chocolate. She ciccles slicghtly licking her lips, she didn't really have any tabl;e manners she just ate as fast as she could, it would probably always be that way.

Joliette Rigiel
Joli smiled and chuckled softly to herself. If nothing else Colche was enthusiastic about her food. She herself ate at her own pace which wasn't really all that fast

Colche
"Chocolate cake nice" she stated simply clearing off her face which by now was a perfectly mucky mess. Her deep blue eyes smiled a little now, how could anyone eat so slow? She liked ehr food alot she ate so swiftly for fear of it being taken away again though she always liked to nibble a peice of toast. She looks at the other peice of cake contemplating if she should attempt that slice too.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled seeing Colche eye the slice she had brought for her. She reached and pushed hte plate a little closer to the girl "If you would like that one too, you can have it" she said returning to her salad once the pie was gone

Colche
Colche grinned, well Joliette definately didn't want it and she certainly didn't want to see it go to waste. She picks up the second slice making quick work of the sponge and further covering her maw in chocolate a rather large blob sitting on her black nose. Her nose wriggles a bit she could smell it there. Her eyes cross and she giggles ehr tounge snaking out to try and remove the chocolate cream from the tip of her nose.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette giggles watching Colche attempt to reach her nose with her tongue "Colche, use your finger hun" she said demonstrating wiping from ones nose and putting it in one's mouth, even changed she didn't think Colche's tongue would reach her nose

Colche
Colche watches, well it was worth a cry any way but her tongue didn't reach her nose, one day it probably would when her face elongated and flattend to that soft catty muzzle. She reaches her finger up instead licking the chocolate from that instead giggling a little "yum" she puurrs, completely satisfied now her belly taught like a drum. She reaches for her leap pad then, she wanted to show everyone ehr new gadjet. "Leappad" she stated proudly showing off her talking book.

Joliette Rigiel
"Very fancy Colche, do you like using it?" She asked pushing the empty plates aside and leaned on the table

Colche
Colche giggles and nods, Aubrey had given her the leap pad, her much wanted words. "words" she stated opening the book to the first pace. It was an alphabet and number book. She places the pen on a picture of an apple and it says the word,s eh giggles and mimics "Apple" she grins broadly, she liked the talking book greatly theer were so many words she didn't know and now even better she knew that the lines above ehr door were called numbers and she could almost count to her own number which was seventeen, without much provocation from the book.

Joliette Rigiel
"Thats right, an apple is a fruit, and fruit is good" Joliette elaborated a little for Colche with a smile. She'd seen the product on television in the past, this was the first time she'd actually seen it

Colche
Colche giggles "fruit good" she puurrs ehr eyes finall smiling the painkillers had at last taken effect and she was feeling better now shecould play with her book and have somone help her, she was a very good mimic and the book had helpe her come along even int he two painful days she had had it. She smiles and sighs happily "book good" she states she was determined to learn everything from these books and then maybe, maybe she would learn what she was now, she contemplated this quite alot she knew ambrose was a puppy, of some sort, she wonderd what she was.

Joliette Rigiel
"Yes, the book is good, good for learning" she said with a smile watching the happiness fill the girl's eyes as she sat with her book

Colche
Colche smiles softly her ears wiggle a little as she sits there. She gives a little yawn and sighs "bunny food" she smiles standing and closing her book going to the serving woman she takes a bowl full of cabbage leaves from her "Byebye Joliette" she smiles wrinkling her nose happily she potters out of the cafeteria off to feed her rabbit.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled and waved "Have a good day Colche" she said and headed to drop her own dishes off then headed out of hte cafeteria

Anger on Paper?... or Not
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Joliette returned to her duplex later shaking her head "I wish I never was so curious" she said quietly as she let herself in. She pulled up her laptop and copied her draft to it then started to edit it. "Stupide git, I can't believe he got things so wrong, I swear he does it intentionally" she growled and typed angrily

Letter Written
I certainly hope someone OTHER then Duvert gets this.

All the boxes with supplies were delivered clear across the village to another duplex, to someone who knows nothing about photography and in their endevour to look through it to see what it was the following items got ruined

~ 1 Safety Light.
~ 1 box of 8x10 photo paper
~ 1 jug of stopbath chemicals
~ about 1/2 the film given

these items require replacement, and delivered to the darkroom not someone else. Please get someone who can get things right to deal with this.

Joliette

She read it over... then read it over again, she was angry but she didn't think she was going to get across anger in her note, why couldn't she couldn't she get the anger across on paper" she picked up a now empty bottle of stopbath and threw it across the room so that it bounced off the intercom. She sighed and printed the note out.. then wrote a second shorter note, this one not to anyone in the labs she read it and smiled then headed out, first she headed out grabbing the box she had left near her door and affixing the short note

Asking for Help
(AIM RP Log)
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Chubbs sits under a tree in the shade, puffing away on a winfielf blue cigarette and tucking his knees up to rest the book he's reading on. The book looks to be the bear book he pilfered from the library the previous night. He looks intently at it, taking in all the knowledge he can, to understand himself later.

Joliette talked quietly to herself as she walked checking things off on her palm pilot with her stylus as she went. The scent of cigarettes is what made her look up, she smiled... "Just the person I needed to go find" she said glad at that little bit of luck "Hi Chubbs" she said quietly walking up to one side of him from behind

Chubbs blinked and peered over his shoulder behind him and smiled up at Joliette shyly, pulling the smoke from his lips so he at least looked a little presentable.

" Hi Joliette... er.. ya stalkin me now?"

He grinned, saying that in a jokingly way

Joliette chuckled "No, actually I was going to look for you later, right now I was just double checking my todo list see?" she turned the palm pilot towards him, he was about 3 away from where she had checked off on her list it read 'Locate Chubbs'

Chubbs blinked in surprise and leaned over, lifting his cap to look closely. Sure enough his name was there, he blushed instantly, finding it complimentary that he'd be on a list

" I'm er.. flattered.. heh, not every day ya umm, find yaself being umm needed"

Joliette smiled "Not many strong men here that I'm aware of" she saod turning hte pilot back to herself and sliding the stylus into the spot on it's corner before stowing it into a pocket "And the git dropped all my darkroom stuff across the village"

Chubbs blushed even more brightly, he couldnt help it, compliments still made him blush and he lowered his head hiding it under his cap

" Aww, I'm not so strong,.. but umm... I'll help ya.. surely"

"Most of it is moved, It was dropped off at Jamal's place, I told him I'd ask if you would help him move the last item... the darkroom sink, it's kinda , well... big" Joliette explained dropping down to sit on the grass facing him

Chubbs put a leaf in his book as a marker and closed it, then took a puff of his cigarett and blew the smoke away from joliette. He lifted his head up and smiled some.

" Umm, yeah.. I can ah.. get it there... umm...need like a trolley"

"I'm not certain where to find such item really" she frowned slightly when he mentioned a trolley, she leaned an elbow on her knee and put her chin in her palm thinking

" Yeah, I'm ah.. still after a hook and ah, well a power drill to get my bag up"

Chubbs thought along with her, almost mimicking Joliette's pose with out realising it. He didn't know where anything handy like that would be, and contimplated on a substitute.

" Wasn't there umm some gardening.. like umm stuff?,.. we could hmm use a wheel barrow?"

Joliette chuckled seeing him sit. "Perhaps all that can be found in with all those building supplies, including your drill and hook." She mused not moving from her 'pose'

Chubbs looked over at Joliette and down at himself, wondering why she was chuckling at him. He soon realised and sat himself in a slightly different position with a blush.

" I didn't see that one.. umm where is that?.. I - I'm still getting use to.. ah the place"

Joliette grinned "It's in the town hall, takes a lil exploring but there is all sorts of building supplies in there, I used some of hte boards to block up the windows in number 28" she said with a nod

Chubbs looked up and blinked

" Ah so that's umm where it's ah going... okays... hmm.. wanna go check it out then?"

Chubbs had planned to relax a bit, but he did like helping people, specially Joliette who's been really sweet to him.

She nodded "Yes, thats the duplex I'm converting into a darkroom, You dont have to move it alone if you dont want to, Jamal can help too, he said he would" she smiled "Which also means you dont have to do it right now either"

Chubbs stood up, taking a large stretch and cracking some joints. He blinked and chuckled at the sound, but the stretch was nice after some time out in the sun.

" I can umm, go see how it looks... umm see how many people , umm we need"

Joliette chuckled and got up "All right, it's outside duplex number 7, a great big crate" she said with a smile

Chubbs nodded then smiled a bit and turned his back to her, looking over his shoulder

" Would ya.. umm like a lift?"

Joliette laughed "If you'd like to give one" she said with a nod

Chubbs blushed and chuckled lightly

" All aboard the Chubbs express!"

Chubbs dropped to one knee so she didn't have to leap up so much

Joliette laughed and walked over to him accepting his piggyback ride "you are funny Chubbs"

Chubbs grew redder in the cheeks and held onto her legs as he stood up with her.

" I just thought ,, umm well ya'd like to see, the world .. ah.. from up here"

Joliette smiled "Yeah I'm not exactly very tall am I" she mused holding him and glancing down at the ground

Chubbs smiled back at her and started walking towards the units.

" Ya like a zip file, ya know?.. umm compressed, Inside ya still ah.. the same amount of greatness"

Joliette smiled "Thanks Chubb, I appreciate that" she said watching over his shoulder as he headed towards the duplexes, she was rather excited to get her darkroom up and running, she had so many filled rolls of filme to develop

Chubbs made a couple of toot sounds and made a train whistle noise as he began to jog towards the duplexes, the buildings coming into view.

Joliette couldn't help it, that just cracked her up, it was funny, she held his shirt firmly so she wouldn't slip "Next stop #7!"

Chubbs chuckled too a bit, he was puffing a bit as well, but certainly not out of breath. Finally he made his way to Jamals duplex and made a screaching sound

" Here we are, umm ma'am"

Joliette laughs "Merci Monsieur Conductor" she said with a giggle after he had stopped

Chubbs chuckled again

" Mercy? oh, ya get no mercy"

With that he tickled her sides a bit, making sure she wouldn't fall, and only briefly before he helped her down

Joliette shrieked with laughter squirming under his tickles "Oh Chubbs you are so evil" she said with a laugh her tone saying she was teasing as she put her feet on the ground once more

Chubbs blushed a bit and smiled as he turned around

" Yeah, that's me"

He winked then looked around to find the crate she mentioned

The crate was rather obvious if only for it's size, Joliette caught her breath and wandered towards it "This is it" she said

Chubbs checked over the crate, and peered through the gaps of it looking inside. He guessed the tub would be fine, took a stp back and stomped his foot through one of the boards. With at least that starting point, Chubbs began disasembling the boards of the crate.

Joliette stood back not wanting to get in the way as he pulled apart the crate the process was amusing her, she hadn't expected him to take the crate off previous to moving it

Chubbs pulled apart the crate, half breaking parts with his big boots, till the tub sat clear of wood.

" Crate probably made it heavier"

Chubbs leaned down, and grabbed the longer edges of the tub and grunted like a weightlifter as he heaved it up, flipped it over and rested the tub upside down over his head like a large hat

Joliette went a lil wideeyed "Chubbs, are you sure you can handle that thing all by yourself?" she asked concerned for his safety

Chubbs wobbled a bit, trying to balance the large heavy tub on his head.

" I .. ah I can move, just umm, you'll have to ah.. oo direct, I can't see"

Joliette watched him nervously "O-okay" she agreed "Turn a bit to the right so you don't run into any of hte duplex then head straight"

Chubbs tried to follow her directions, turning slowly to the right to where he guessed was the right way, and looking at the ground he walked forwards, stopped, took on step back to fix his balance then continued forward.

Joliette walked slowly near him telling him when to turn and when to walk straight as they made their way across the village to her duplex and the darkroom

Chubbs almost felt like he was dancing, but he trusted Joliette's directions and continued forth, puffing a bit now under the weight.

"Stoppp" Joliette said when he got within feet of the stairs "Chubbs, number 28 is upstairs... are you going to be able to get it up there safely?" she bit her lip worried for his safety

Chubbs wasn't too sure himself, he thought he could, but in case, he wanted Joliette out of the way.

" Umm... okay, you head.... up first..... and ah... open the door... and make sure to... back up"

He puffed at the bottom of the stairs, a little sore now

Joliette nodded and quickly headed up the stairs pulling out hte keys as she went, at hte top she unlocked the door and opened it wide before moving onto the balcony out of hte way "Ok Chubbs, you have a clear path" she called down to him

Chubbs made his way up the stairs, wanting to do it quickly to put it down but fearing so would make a mistake. Makiing sure every step he took he hand a firm grip on the tum and a sure foot hold he got to the top then " bong!" Chubbs bumped the tub into the top of the door frame. the tub rang like a bell for a lil moment and Chubbs slowly lifted it up to reveal a wincing face.

" Ow!"

He placed the tub down slowly onto the door way, he gave himself a bit to bend he back, back into place and rub his neck.

"So where will it got.. and ... ah which way?"

Joliette went wideeyed and put her hand on her mouth "Chubbs are you all right?" she asked walking closer once he put the sink down, where it went could wait for a moment, she wanted to be sure Chubbs hadn't gotten hurt

Chubbs nodded to Joliette question

" I'm okay.. neck and backs.. umm a bit sore.. but ah the ringing hurt my ears was all"

He gave her a reasurring smile

" I've not been in.. umm so many boxing matches.. to well.. be beaten by a tub"

Joliette chuckled at ihs final statement "All right, it goes inside, in the bathroom, mounted over the bathtub in there" she said with a nod

Joliette had removed the bathroom door as well as the shower curtains and anything else that would impede her work in preperation for the darkroom

Chubbs tooks a quick cautionary look at where it was to end up, then went back to the sink. tipping it on it's side, he lifted it enough off the ground and shimmied with it sideways through the unit like a crab. It started to hurt his arms as he got to the bathroom. He rested the sink on his steel caps and rested it against his legs. With his breath back some, he heaved the sink up once more taking several goes before he sloted it into place over the tub.

Joliette was delighted, not only because the sink was in place, but also that he had managed to do it without getting hurt "Thankyou Chubbs" she said happily "You are wonderful, I appreciate your help and I'm glad you did not get hurt" she told him

Chubbs blinked down at Joliette, still blushing from her compliment, he returned the hug with a shy smile.

Joliette let go after a moment "Well welcome to my darkroom" she said with a soft chuckle, and it was dark, there was only 1 true light, the rest were safelights and every window was boarded up

Chubbs looked about with a smile, checking out the work she had done.

"Looking good, umm..might make for a good.. ah hibernation cave"

Joliette giggled "Perhaps, but it's also ideal for developing photographs" she smiled "I thought he might let me have a room int he town center, I certainly hadn't expected an entire duplex for this purpose, but hey I'm not complaining, just gives me more room"

Chubbs grinned at her when she giggled, he loved that sound

" Deffinately...umm plenty of space... might have to umm start taking ... well, pictures"

Joliettte walked to a small mini-fridge and opened it, it only had one thing in it... film, any she had brought and whatver she could salvage from the delivered supplies "About 3 dozen of those are full already" she told him smiling a bit of a meak smile, if he really got to know her he'd soon know her obsession with photography

Chubbs bent down to look in the fridge a whistle, he held his back, his back and neck were still tender from the sink.

" Wow, that's... well heaps!... sheesh, heh what ya take pictures of?"

"Everything, I took about 6 to 9 rolls just from my yacht when I got here before I came close, some are from the trip and some , well you saw me taking some the first time you met me" She admitted

Chubbs nodded then went and sat on the floor up against a wall.

" Yeah.. well.. umm you'll have to ah show me.. when ya get em done"

"I will Chubbs, most certainly, I wouldn't mind photographing you if you have no objections" she added and sat on the edge of hte only remaining chair in the room, the armchair

Chubbs blinked, looked up and blushed

" Me? umm.. but umm... why me?"

"I wouldn't mind photographing all my friends actually" she told him with a smile "If they will allow me to that is"

Chubbs nodded and thought about it, he probably wouldn't mind in the end.

" Alright, but ah, no n***s to umm further my modelling career"

He grinned lightly

Joliette giggled "No, no n***s, just fun casual pictures" she said with a nod

Chubbs nodded then

" Umm okay then, i'll ah.. be in a picture"

Joliette smiled "Thanks Chubbs, it won't be today, just sometime soon is all" she said with a nod and a smile

Chubbs nodded once again and grunted as he slowly lifted up from the floor

"Oh, how is your hand doing Chubbs?" she asked as he stood remembering helping him

Chubbs looked down at his hand and flexed it a little

" Oh. it's um.. well all good... just letting it ah heal up.... oh and ah thanks for the help"

"My pleasure to help" she said with a smile getting up from where she sat and walking towards him

Chubbs smiled and rubbed the bandage on his hand and adjusted his hat as he watched her walk over

"I shouldn't keep you, you seemed like you were working on somehting when I found you" she said quietly stopping near him

Chubbs shook his head a little, not really finding anyhing of imporance for him to be doing on the island

" Nah.. I was fine.. just reading up on bears"

"All right, just so long as you are sure" she said with a nod... "Have you ever seen the process to print a photograph?" she asked curiously knowing she had a few negatives from teh mainland with her

Chubbs remembered back to highschool when he was in art class. The artroom had a spin off developing room for photography classes, and he'd had to use some of the equipment to do an art project.

" Ummm you ah... I think ya like flash the image from the film to umm like paper stuff... and .. ah.. use chemicals to ah make it show up?

Chubbs couldn't remember, scratching the back of his head

"That is a very simple terms of it yes" she chuckled "It goes from there" she pointed to the 'sink' in the bathroom "to there" she pointed to the enlarger "and then to the different chemicals required to make the image appear" she smiled "Then it has to dry"

Chubbs nodded at each one she mentioned, smiling when Joliette had finished

" I'll have ah..to come see ya .. umm..do it some time"

Joliette nodded "You are more then welcome to Chubbs" she said

Chubbs smiled and blushed a bit then looked around

" I ah should get out of,.. um ya hair and let ya finish up"

"Ok Chubbs, Thanks again for helping, and you are always welcome here and at my place to visit" she told him

Chubbs grinned lightly and nodded

" Will do.. and umm.. same to you.... I still owe ya a tea"

She smiled "just drop me a note or knock on my door, besides this theres nothing else here to tie me up"

Chubbs made his way to the door, and chuckled a little

" Kinky!"

Joliette giggled "Chubbs you are funny, I'll talk to you soon" she said happily

Chubbs smiled and blushed, waving to her as he went down the stairs

" Will do.. see ya round"

Joliette watched him leave then closed the door getting to work

Dude in the Shadows

Joliette wandered up to the beach after having seen Chubbs and stopping at her duplex, she thought perhaps some excersize would be a good distraction from everything. She was wearing her black Gi and no shoes as she stepped out onto the sand and taking a deep breath of hte sea air

A blonde head popped up from behind a few palm trees. It was the Dude: "Yo, photo girl. How's been?"

Joliette turned she hadn't expected any voice "Oh! Hello Dude" she said with a smile "Overall? all right I suppose, everything considered" she replied and wandered towards him "And for you?"

The sealion smiled.

"I"m hanging in there. Kinda. You got any cigarettes on you?" - he made big pitiful puppy eyes that usually worked magic on melting girl hearts. Got him out of traffic tickets ...

Joliette chuckled seeing his expression, it was adorable, that much she truely had to admit "I wish I could tell you yes, that expression is priceless.. but unfortunately, I do not smoke so I have no reason to have any... Perhaps you could ask Chubbs, he's the only one I've seen here so far who does"

"Chubbs? And who might that be" - he perked up and climbed out from behind the palms. Apparently he was writing something in the shade there

"He's one of hte new islanders, arrived a couple days after I did, he's in duplex 25, he's the big guy with red hair and very often wears a cap, very nice guy really" She explained and then looked at him curiously "What were you doing hidden in teh shade?"

"Thanks. And me ... well." - he gave her an impish grin.: "Do you reeeeeeeeeally wanna know?"

Joliette chuckled "Sure, I guess it's the journalist in me to be curious" she told him giving him a look that showed her curiousity quite plainly

"Ah ..." - he bent over to take something from behind the tree trunks. It was his research notebook: "I'm cataloging the sea slugs in this lagoon. I just came from a dive. Speaking of diving - no boat. And I really really looked, trust me ... so ... sorrya bout that" - he sighed.

Joliette shook her head "Don't worry about it, I know what happened to it, we wont find it, even if we want to..." she looked out towards the water then back "So are you finding a lot of sea slugs?"

"What happened to it?" - he asked curiously, not answering the second questions.

"Ambrose says he saw the Moreau fellow having it... dismantled" she sighed "Apparently they took it apart into pieces"

"An entire YACHT???? - he flailed in surprise. "Moreau is nothing if not dedicated ..."

She nodded "Yes I can agree with that, that was a very large boat, and a very nice one at that, I guess I can just be glad I won't have to worry about my credit rating anymore"

"Yeah ... you can say that again ..." - he chuckled, but it was a sad kind of chuckle. "Did Ambrose see where they dragged the pieces to?""

She shook her head, "he said something about this Moreau guy making Vasile sleep and having to take him home" she sighed and looked towards the general direction of hte labs "I would not be surprised if they are in some massive store-room in the labs though"

"Yeah ... you are probbaly right ... so ... how are you adjusting over here and all? And what's this gettup for?" - he pointed at the gi

"I'm doing all right all things considering, would be better if the git would have sent me clothing I could actually wear. And if he would have sent the darkroom equipment to the right place rather then all the way across the village" she looked at her attire "And this, well I was going to work out is all" she explained

"You look like a ninja in that. Are you an undercover ninja?" - he poked her in the shoulder

Joliette laughed "No, I learned martial arts when I was young, I find it good for exercise and calming when I am flustered or angry"

"Makes sense, makes sense ... well, I wont hold you up then, Joliette. Peace out!" - he waved at her and went back to his notes

Joliette smiled "Talk to you later Dude" she said and wandered down onto the beach getting to exercising

Welcome to forever Chana
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette stood in the center of the area outside her duplex, on a chair beside of her... her laptop, in front of her... her tripod and camera. She had a darkroom now, and she intended to make use of it. Her camera was pointed in the direction of hte mountain as she took photos

Chana Cohen
Chana was wandering around aimlessly when she saw a woman with one very nice camera. Clearly, she must've been another staff member, because no camper would have such an expensive camera.

"Hello!" she called out, altering her path.

Joliette Rigiel
*clickclickclickclick* The camera took a rapid series when she pressed the button once and then she looked up. "Hello" she said in her thick british accent with a smile "Wonderful day for photos" she said motioning her camera before standing up and looking up at hte female she'd yet to meet

Chana Cohen
Chana nodded and smiled, forgetting her buck teeth for a moment. Then she recovered and hastily shut her mouth. Stupid teeth. Too big and ugly to do anything for her image...

...ahem. "Yes, it certainly is beautiful out," she agreed. "How long have you been here?"

Joliette Rigiel
"Well let's see, uhmm I think about 9 days give or take I believe" she said with a nod, "You are new I presume?" she asked curiously

Chana Cohen
Chana nodded, bemused. Was it like identifying freshmen in college? Ah well, she'd learn her way around soon enough.
"I just arrived this morning."

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded with a weak smile "I guessed that since I haven't seen you before. I'm Joliette" she introduced herself her name sounded rather french considering her british accent "I guess I best say welcome then" she held her hand out Not that I would want to welcome anyone to this place, but politeness is important, considering she likely doesn't know... she thought to herself

Chana Cohen
Chana smiled and shook Joliette's hand firmly. "I'm glad to be here," she said. A British accent...she felt undercivilized. Though no one had said this was an American camp...

"I'm Chana," she added, realizing she'd been so absorbed in where Joliette was from she'd forgotten to introduce herself.

((name is more like "Hana," but almost like you're going to spit the "h". ^^; ))

Joliette Rigiel
"A pleasure Chana" she said with a smile "How much of the village have you seen?" she asked, she wasn't sure just how much she'd seen as yet

Chana Cohen
"The village?" she repeated. So that was the lingo... "Not much, really. Just from my duplex, twenty-six up there, to here," she admitted with another smile.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette looked in the direction of 26 "Ah so Chubbs has a neighbour now He'll like that he's a nice guy" she looked back to her "Want a bit of a tour? I know I got lost when I first tried to find my way around here"

Chana Cohen
"Chubbs?" Ack! What a horrible habit she had, of repeating anything she didn't really understand! Chana flushed. It had to be a nickname of some sort.

"A tour would be wonderful, thank you," she told Joliette distractedly. She'd said she'd been here nine days...but wouldn't they want all the staff to come at once? It was much more efficient...ah, but hadn't she seen how odd the doctor was? If it was some strange philanthropist in charge directly, without someone experienced to give him advice...yeah. Then he'd just do whatever. He was rich, right?

Joliette Rigiel
"Yes, thats his name" she said "Give me a moment to put this away and I'll show you around" she said and turned off her camera capping it then hauling it and the tripod up to number 28, and putting it inside before coming down and taking her laptop and chair back into 27

Chana Cohen
Chana shrugged inwardly and simply stood patiently. Was she borrowing the camera from someone else? Or was 28 just storage?

Did it matter? Half of this island didn't make sense anyway.

Joliette Rigiel
"Sorry for taking so long, I've turned to storing much of my camera stuff in my darkroom" she said rejoining Chana tucking the keys into her pocket she looked abouts "I think the town hall would be about as good as any to start"

Chana Cohen
"You have a real darkroom?" Chana exclaimed. Oh, how intriguing! At least that meant they could take pictures here and not wait to develop them. She followed the other woman along.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yes, I finished building it last night, least it gives me something to do here" she said as they walked "Sooo... What reason did you come to the isle?"

Chana Cohen
Chana stopped walking at that question. "What reason did I have for coming here?" she repeated, anger creeping into her voice. "Well, I decided to come help the mentally disabled at this camp because I was taught it was the right thing to do!" she said vehemently. "Are you implying that I might have an ulterior motive?" Chana demanded of Joliette.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette stopped and turned to her her hands up as if in surrender "Woah... I'm sorry, not you you wouldn't have an ulterior motive, but the doctors here do..." she defended herself "Please forget I asked" she said with a sigh not having expected that reaction

Chana Cohen
"It's forgotten," Chana told Joliette, after giving her a suspicious glance. The doctors had an ulterior motive? Not surprising. Most people did, after all.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette turned and headed for the town hall again ... She didn't know if she should tell her the truth or not "Town hall has the cafeteria, laundry room, building supplies storage, entertainment room and some other stuff in it" she said

Chana Cohen
"Sounds really nice," Chana commented. She was too interested in her new surroundings to notice how...down...Joliette seemed.

Joliette Rigiel
"Theres a couple beaches here too" she said nearing the building "The place can take some getting used to, I believe there is 27 occupied duplexes or so"

Chana Cohen
"Really? I'd like to see one of the beaches too, if you don't mind," Chana replied.

To the Cafeteria

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette walked into the door and stopped, "That direction goes to the laundry room, that direction to the entertainment room.. and this direction to the cafeteria" she said before heading into the cafeteria

Chana Cohen
"Okay," Chana nodded and continued following Joliette into the cafeteria. It was...a very nice cafeteria, if a little unbroken-in.

Joliette Rigiel
"They make some decent food here, and good salads" she said "Are you hungry?" she was still contemplating what to do, she hoped Chana didn't run into a changed subject before she found the truth out

Chana Cohen
"Flying mostly kills my appetite," she confessed. "But if you want to eat, I'll find something to munch on and keep you company...if you like." Why did Joliette sound...what was it, worried? Nervous? Why?

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette shook her head "No thats ok I'll grab an apple to eat as we walk, I ate a little while ago, wasn't sure if you had" she said looking up at Chana before wandering towards the fruit on the counter

Chana Cohen
Chana spied something else that appealed to her and picked up a piece of wheat bread to snack on. "Are there set meal times?" she asked.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette looked towards her and shook her head "No, theres no set times for anything in the village, we do as we please" she said before taking a bite from the apple

Chana Cohen
"I...see," Chana mused. That was...very odd. The mentally disabled, especially autistic people, didn't react well to an unscheduled set of events. Was the camp director mad?

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette noted her hesitant reply and leaned against the edge of a table "I guess it's kinda nice to get away from deadlines and such" she mused sticking one hand into one of hte plethera of pockets that riddled her vest

Chana Cohen
"Oh? What was your last job?" Chana asked, innocently.

Joliette Rigiel
"I'm a photographic journalist" she told Chana "Thats how I wound up here actually, got too nosey for a good scoop for my own good." she was honest when she said that, though she wasn't sure how to expect it to be taken

Chana Cohen
"Ah huh," Chana replied. That explained a lot. Minor islands like this were almost always private property...and so she could imagine that the media (or rather, the tabloids) would love to know just what was going on onshore. That thought process was, Chana knew, what came of growing up in America. Land of the freedoms to be fought for and home of the nosy.

Joliette Rigiel
"I found the person I was looking for though, so I guess even if I can't share that info it was worth it to know my hunch was correct" she stood up once more "Shall we?" she motioned the door

Chana Cohen
"Yes, we shall," she replied, thinking a bit about what Joliette had said. So she'd come here looking for someone? It was probably some celebrity's brain-damaged child, due to drugs during pregnancy, or something like that.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette dropped the core in a trash can "So what do you do for a living Chana, on the mainland that is" she asked looking up at her

Chana Cohen
Chana blinked at the change of subject. "Well...I had a temporary job packing boxes of food for the Ark while I was waiting to hear back about this job," she replied, a bit nervously. There was something...out of kilter here. And Chana wasn't sure what.

Joliette Rigiel
"The Ark? I'm sorry I'm not sure I'm familiar with that" she said scratching her chin looking curious

Chana Cohen
"The Ark is a Jewish food pantry," Chana explained. She didn't really want to get into more detail at the moment.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled "Sounds like a nice place... is there anything in particular you'd like to see from here?" she asked stopping in the doors of the town hall

Chana Cohen
Chana swallowed the last of her bread. "Um...the beach, please?" she reminded Joliette.

Joliette Rigiel
She nodded and turned in the direction of hte nearest beach heading throught eh village to get there "Theres two here, I believe one is larger then the other, very nice though, no broken glass or anything to worry about stepping on so bare feet are perfectly safe"

Chana Cohen
"It sounds lovely," Chana replied, squinting against the bright sunlight.

To the Beach

Joliette Rigiel
After a few minutes she padded out into the sand "This is the one closest to the town hall, it has a nice view I think" She says with a nod looking out into the water

Chana Cohen
Chana stood as if stricken. "It's...it's beautiful," she whispered, afraid to break the beauty of the moment.

It was things like this that made up for all hardships and confusion.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "You should see it at sunrise, I sometimes come to work out and wake up , a lil martial arts and a cool breeze does the body good" she said "I've seen Dude and Amaya on teh beach a lot, oh and I think Colche really likes it too, Not to mention Vasile, he was on teh beach when I first got here, morning run I think"

Chana Cohen
"I see..." Chana replied absently. Then she forcefully pulled her attention away. "I think I'd like to go unpack a bit...take a nap. I think I can find the way back...you coming with?" She asked out of force of habit, she didn't really want any company for once.

Joliette Rigiel
She looked towards the girl, she looked like she had a lot on her mind "No thats ok, thanks though for asking, have a good nap, and I'm sure I'll see you around again, if you need anything I'm in 27"

Chana Cohen
Chana smiled and waved to Joliette, then turned and walked confidently back to her duplex. She had a lot to think over as she unpacked.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette sighed once Chana was gone and kicked off her shoes and she shrugged her vest off her shoulders dropping it with her shoes, then walked further onto hte sand "When the gale blows, the stiff oak resists and breaks, the flexible willow bends and survives" She says quietly to herself putting her hands together looking out into the water, she fell into stance "Ichi.. Ni... San... Shi... Go... Roku... Shichi... Hachi... Ku... Ju" she counted each number in turn as she started punching hte air imagining in her mind, that it was not thin air.

Chubbs MacKraken
" Sometimes that stiff old oak can umm, brave that ah storm.. if well.. if it's got ah.. good ground to ah hold to"

Chubbs couldn't help over hear Joliette as he shifted onto the beach sand, his bare feet wiggling into the sand. He had come down to the beach to get a bit of sun and maybe even a swim. He had on a long pair of short and a black T-shirt that said " +20 Shirt of Smiting" on the front. With his hands in his pockets he smiled shyly, watching her do some kind of kata.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette started, she hadn't seen or heard Chubb's approach, she dropped her hands and smiled when she saw who it was "Hi Chubbs, yeah, my sensei made us say it at hte beginning of class when I was a kid, guess it's just, well force of habit" she said with a nod
'
Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled and nodded, looking out to the ocean.

" I can understand.. I was taught my self some umm, things to think on ... ya know, before a fight. I hand em down .. to the.. ah kids"

Chubbs looked over at Joliette and blinked.

" Oh I - I didn't mean to ah interupt"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette chuckled "Nah, just getting out frustrations is all. You aren't an interupter, Sometimes I think I wouldn't mind using my skills on more then just thin air" she smiled "Did you see a curly haired female on your way here?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs breathed a little easier, glad he wasn't bothering her, he didn't like to get in the way. He rubbed the back of his head a and looked behind him a little and then back.

"Er umm yeah, I saw her.."

Chubbs wondered what Joliette had to get her frustrations out on. He remembered Sabin had annoyed her though and she was on this cursed island, what wasn't there to be angry at?

" Ah, ya.. know .. I could umm, well get.. my bag up.. and you could pound.. on ah that?"

Joliette Rigiel
"She's your new neighbour, upstairs actually, she thinks she's at a camp for persons with mental disabilities... I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth, kinda like I didn't have the heart to tell you when you first got here..." she sighed and looked towards the water for a moment then back "Plaster a photo of the git on it and we both could pound the stuffing out of it" she smiled

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled lightly and nodded

"Certainly could do ah that.. yeah.. not a bad idea"

He looked back behind him, thinking about the poor girl the was moving in to the room above his. Chubbs hung his head long, he had a plan that involved the person moving in above, now it looks like he couldn't do it.

" Maybe we can.. ah.. try to tell her"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yeah, she's gone to nap now, or least thats whta she said she was going to do, I asked her what she was here for to do and she got very defensive about it" she wandered closer then sat down in the sand

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked down on the ground and the sand and decided to sit himself. Keeping his knees bent he rested his arms on them and looked out into the ocean.

" Maybe I can.. umm go say hi... see what I can do"

Chubbs knew he wouldn't be that good of a help, he was horrible with meeting new people, but she was living above him, she would know him soon enough.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled "Her name is Chana" she told him running her fingertips throught he soft sand "Did you find hte building stuff ok?" she was curious about that, she was interested in his offer of putting up his bag

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked down at her hands in the sand as he tried to keep Chan's name in his head to remember it.

" Ah I found a drill and .. well there was a hook at looks like.. it'll umm do okay.. Just haven't ah.. put it up yet"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded still moving her fingers softly through the sand "Glad you found the supplies you need, and I'm glad you dont have to ask ... them for a bag either" she mused

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs nodded and smiled shyly at her.

" I really should have.. well.. listened to ah myself when.. well wehn.. they ah told me they umm didn't have a punching bag"

Chubbs smirked a bit, realising he was a dolt for coming here after hearing that. He decided to worry bout that some other time, and felt a bit peckish, he hadn't eaten today at all.

" I feel like umm, bit of .. something to ah munch on... care to join me?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette smiled and dusted her hands off "Sure, Sounds like a plan" she got up and headed for her vest and shoes putting them on when she reached them

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs sat up and put a hand on his back, he really did strain that and his neck yesterday carrying too many things. He dusted himself down and waited for Joliette to get her things before he headed to the Cafeteria.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs swung the door open to the cafeteria wide, looking towards the food trays, he was really hungry and couldn't wai. He slipped inside first though and held the door open for Joliette, force of habit for him to do.

Joliette Rigiel
"Thanks... So the darkroom is complete now at least should make it so I dont have to just leave film undeveloped" she said walking into the cafeteria with Chubbs once they arrived from the beach she didn't notice the pair in the corner right away when she got there

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, you might wanna take tomorrow off just to sleep and stuff. That's what I did." Amaya fiddled around with her salad. "And I know of Joliette. It seems Moreau has brought a few new people here, actually." She scowled and stabbed at her salad. "I've been alright... considering. Unlike a lot of people I couldn't handle the change as gracefully." Her smile was awkward and forced, though she didn't dive into the fact she had thrown up and passed out.

Upon hearing the door slam open her tail gave a quick lash towards the sound as her head snapped around to look at who entered. Chubbs and... Joliette. Aw crap.

Ian Campbell
Ian halted mid chew as two people entered the cafeteria. Joliette and...someone he didn't know, but that guy was huge. Ian tried to remain inconspicuous and finished chewing the bit of apple before swallowing. He sniffed the air - the big guy didn't have an oder that Ian's brain deemed threatening, but maybe his nose wasn't strong enough yet. He frowned. "Is that man Joliette is with new as well?" he asked. There weren't noticeable changes so probably, but he had to make sure. "And gracefully? What dost thou mean by that?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs made his way in, rubbing his hands gleefully at the thought of a nce big meal. He smeeled the food from across the room.

" That'll be umm good.. ya have to.. umm come show me ya ah pics"

Chubbs grabbed a plate and eyed the food along it, selecting some baked vegetables and a big helping of roasted beef and gravy, he nabbed a couple of dinner rolls, a knife and fork and headed for a table to sit. Hearing someone talking, Chubbs looked over and saw Amaya and another person talking and eating in the corner. Chubbs blinked when he saw him, no matter how many times he would see the changes he feared he'd never get use to it. Blushing slightly he waved to Amya to at least stop his initial shock and went about eating.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette wandered after him taking a tray she filled her own with a garden salad a couple samosas and veggie rolls and a glass of juice and headed after Chubbs to the table he chose, she glanced in the directions of hte voice and double took trying to keep a plesent expression on her face as she waved to the pair, Amaya had beent he one to tell her hte truth, regardless of this though, the new look startled her slightly and her mind dwelled on it for a moment as she sat to eat

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded, speaking after she had swallowed. "His name is Chubbs... he's a nice guy though, so don't worry." She smiled, unphased and unbothered to see him. Joliette though... she haden't seen her changes yet. "And uh... well... I didn't exactly stay conscious after I changed and I got kinda sick."

Not wanting to dwell on the subject, she turned and waved one of her large hand at Chubbs. She kind of wanted him to join them... but on the other hand she was glad he was keeping Joliette occupied.

Ambrose Maurlias
The next day, Ambrose was feeling... at least partially better. Amaya had been right - after having some time to cool down, Angelina had come around, and seemed at least understanding of his actions. She was still overwhelmed - to say the least - but he saw hope.

She still wasn't ready to leave the duplex and meet the 'others', however, and Ambrose had volunteered to go to the cafeteria to get some food for her (and probably eat there himself as he wasn't quite sure how she would take his massive apetite for meat.)

Seeing that there were people (and familiar looking at least) there already, he first went though the lunch line for himself, getting piles of freshly made steaks before heading back to sit down at the table with a greeting to Amaya, Chubbs, Joliette, and Ian.... where he promptly did a doubletake at Ian.

He had changed again... drastically - just as much if not more so than himself. While he may not have been covered completely by fur like he had been, his face was stertched out into a short muzzle, and his antlers had grown to an impressive length.

Ambrose... cocked his head as he looked him over, and his stomach gave another kick, reminding him that he hadn't yet eaten today. At first, Ambrose didn't think much of this - it was normal for his early morning state to be hungry, and he picked up his utensils to slice his meat. The smell of the cooked steaks did indeed send his stomach clamboring for him to hurry... but that wasn't the only smell in the proximity - adn the vegetables on the plates of three of the people around him wasn't it.

It was then that a cold shudder passed down his back, setting his fur on end for a moment. It... couldn't be... no... he was jsut ungry was all and there was food in front of him. But... the thought of the conversation he had had earlier... abotu predators and prey.

Ambrose shoved a bite of meat into his mouth to quell the thought and appetite, hoping desperately that the thoughts didn't show in his eyes.

Finally, he spoke up, trying to avoid eye contact with Ian. "Hey, Amaya - I wanted to thank you again for the talk yesterday.." He smiled. "It really did help... and you were right about Angelina at least." He still hadn't seen Emelyn... and he knew he needed to....

Ian Campbell
Ian listend to Amaya nodding when appropriate when he heard the cafeteria door opened. Glancing over he spotted someone and stared, his mouth dropping open. A scent reached his nostrils and he became paralyzed with fear, his eyes becoming very wide. It took a few moments, but Ian finally recognized the person as Ambrose. He took deep breaths trying to calm his insticts down, surely Ambrose would not hurt him..he hoped...and prayed.

His mind had identified the smell as wolf....someone that could eat Ian. He needed to do something...Stop gaping,he told himself. That is horribly rude. "Morning Ambrose, Joliette." he greeted. "Hast the morning brought good tidings upon the both of thee?" Why the hell couldn't he stop speaking like that....he would have to try to speak normally....but perhaps after he persuaded himself that Ambrose would not eat him.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs started to eat into his delicious meal heavily, he always took big bites. Some people use to say he was being a pig and he was eating too fast, Chubbs just felt like his mouth was empty with the tiny bites people took.

Chubbs watch Ambrose walk into the room, he was something to look at, covered in fur as he was. He remembered the first time he met Ambrose and remembered to be delicate about staring so much. Chubbs didn't want to do what so others had done to him.

He gave Ambrose a wave and watched him sit with Amaya and the deer looking guy. Chubbs smirked a bit and looked to Joliette.

" This reminds me so much like high school"

Joliette Rigiel
"It finds me as well as can be expected Ian thankyou" she said with a smile she replied between bites across the distance between them... She watched him a moment... So different then the first time I saw him she mused remembering her first day there.

She looked at Chubbs when he spoke and chuckled "Aye, though those usually had more people... lets just hope they dont bring that many people here" she agreed then added

Amaya Vaughan
"Hi Ambrose." Amaya smiled, having caught that strange hesitance in his eyes when he looked at Ian. Oh no, predator and prey? Would it... would it really get that bad? Would they be driven to cannibalism? The very thought made her shudder. Green eyes looked over to Ian, having seen the feral fear on his face. She frowned sadly and wondered if anyone on the island was going to turn into something that ate iguanas.

"So uh... Angelina isn't as mad anymore? That's good." She tried to smile while taking another bite of her salad. "Talk to Emelyn yet?" Amaya glanced over at Chubbs and Joliette, feeling bad for the two groups to be so segregated.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose looked over to where the Chubbs and Joliette were sitting, giving them a friendly wave and a smile. It only struck him after he had sat down whether the 'segragation' was due to familiarity.... or how developed they were.

Ambrose then swallowed as he caught a different whiff from Ian, Fear. His ears folded to the back of his head - was he having ... instinctual reactions..? No... no - it couldn't be. Ian must just be reaction... to his change! He hadn't seen him like this yet. That was all.

"I'm sorry... my appearance is probably rather startling to you" he winced. "I... changed not too long ago myself. I... hadn't seen you since the beach party - I wasn't aware you had changed as well." Ambrose had no idea that this was a recent development for him as well.

"I... I'm doing alright. Could be better.... but could always be worse." He gave a small smile. And why was Ian talking like that? He had always been rather... strange... what with that whole 'druid' thing he spoke of... but not THIS odd. Had he?

Ambrose shook his head to clear his thoughts and turned to Amaya with an apologetic look. "No... she' not. She's still scared, understandable. And not ready to come out and deal with things outside of the duplex quite yet. But better. I'm going to be bringing her some food when I'm done here. I just... felt awkward pigging out like I do in front of her." He scratche the back of his head.

As the subject turned to Emelyn, his tail tucked. "N...no. I havne't seen her yet...." To say nothing of the fact he hadn't made so much of an effort to even go see her yet at her duplex.

He followed her line of sight. "Do you think we should invite them over...? Or do you think it would be awkard...?" He gestured to the three of them, all after their second transformation.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs, couldn't help hearing the the conversation over the other table, he looked up from his meal from time to time, blushed and decided to talk to Joliette to avoid prying ears. He didn't know what Ambrose was worried about, Chubbs ate worse than him.

" Let me guess Joliette, you, umm were in the... hmm.. smart kids section yeah?"

He was trying to figure out where Joliette might fit in a school cafeteria.

Ian Campbell
Ian finally got his instincts under control and managed to look as normal as he could. Ambrose's ears told volumes and Ian knew he had to control his instincts or it could cause many problems. His own ear twitched a littleand he felt he needed to aplogize to Ambrose. "Yes, it has been awhile." his voice was soft...he needed to try to talk normally... "I changed earlier. Amaya found me right after and together we came here." Ian knew Ambrose thought he was strange, what with talking the way he was, Ian thought it strange as well. "It would be rude not to extend an invitation to dine with us. If they refuse, then what injury would be done to our own meal?" That sentence had managed to avoid using words like thee and thou, though the hrasing was still not what one would term as "normal".

Ian looked towards Joliette "I fear that that condition shall almost permanently become thee..er, you, trapped on the island as we all are." Damn, and he had been so close too.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette laughed turning her attention to Chubbs since he was speaking to her and the others seemed to be having their own conversation, besides that it kept her from staring at the changes the others had taken as well. "Actually no, I was in the eat outside under a tree with a camera on my lap section, though yes I was a good student" she told him

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I can't blame her there and... despite everything, I'd love to meet her when she's ready to face everything." Afterall, if Ambrose loved this Angelina woman she had to be pretty nice... maybe she wouldn't even react that bad since she had seen Ambrose like he was before her.

Though upon hearing that he haden't visited Emelyn yet she gave a tsk before swallowing her salad. "I know you've been comforting Angelina and you don't want to but... your going to have to see her soon, Ambrose." Amaya looked up at him, her expression more worried for the love triangle then anything. "The longer you postpone it, the harder it's going to be to tell her and harder it's going to be for her to cope with it." She reached over and partially put her large hand on his, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Okay?"

Green gaze then shifted over to the other two and she laughed nervously with a nod. "Heh, yeah... Chubbs has seen me but Joliette hasen't... but I guess we all have to face it sooner or later, right?" She put on a smile and waved to the both of them, gesturing for them to join before looking back to Ian and Ambrose. "I wonder... what it's going to be like when we end up confronting new people when it's... all over..." Amaya frowned, knowing that it would be harder on both sides when someone new bumped into someone... 'complete'.

Ambrose Maurlias
One of Ambrose's ears turned to the side, a further sign of his finding Ian's speech patterns strange, but he said nothing, not even aware how much his ears were acting as signal flags to his thoughts.

"Earlier... by that you mean today? Oh, lord, I'm sorry, Ian. You must be quite sensitive to all of this then.." Maybe that's what the fear he smelled was.... that... must be it. The realistic side of him doubted it, thought.

Ambrose nodded to Amaya, between hasty bites of food. "And I'd love to introduce her to you. I promise I will soon, as soon as things settle down a bit with her. And... maybe after I speak with Emelyn... we'll see." his tail flicked back and forth a bit.

He swallowed and nodded at the chiding from his 'little sister.' "You know, maybe you should be the big sister sometime." He said with a wink. "But seriously, I know. It's not easy... but I know. I Know I need to be the one to tell her, too, so... I need to do so before word spreads.

Ambrose gave an agonized shrug. "I'm not sure.... maybe we could get it out of the way quickly, just jump out at them and say 'hi, welcome to the freakshow." He commented bitterly, his ears pointing back. "But seriously... I don't know how much more or less difficult it will be for new people to cope with seeing us like this... versus .. whatever we look like then. I know that given our progress, we will likely be some of the firsts to... finish."

Ian Campbell
Now it was time for Ian's ears to go back. "Yes, today."z He needed to apologize to Ambrose as well. "and my apologies for the way I reacted to th..you. It was most rude." He had to make more effort to be "normal". Ian had no clue about who Angelina was but he knew Emelyn and was able to guess a tiny bit about what was going on. And Ian definately did not want to hear about "finishing". With his hands the way they were he didn't want to change any further. The apples that were seeming to lye heavily in his stomach suddenly decided to bother him. He stood up unable to resist the heave that overcame him. He stood p and both his hands were on hte table supporting him. He wasn't vomitting, that his instincts told him...no this was different. He began to chew the partiallydigested apples letting his deer intincts take over entirely, that was disgusting. When he finally swallowed he looked sick. "Dammit...why me?..."

"That is a possibility. Very blunt, to the point. It could work."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs kept peering over at the other table, he wasn't trying to stare, it's just the were together, and he felt a bit oucasted being where her was. Chubbs smiled to Joliette, he knew she was smart, but she sounded like she had a good time at her high school.

" Sounds like ya umm.. got the best spot in ah school"

Chubbs heard the talk over the other table, he was deffinately she about approaching them but it sounded like they wished to have two more there. Chubbs slowly stood up and grabbed his plate.

" Think we should .. umm.. well go.. say hello"

With that he walked toward the three, only to see the deer guy look like he was about to barf all over the table. Chubbs winced, seeing that would probably make his dash to the bathroom and he went a little pale. Then the guy didn't throw up and instead chewed. Oh boy... close call but. still... yuck.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette picked up her tray "Yes, lets, more fun as a group anyways." she smiled and got up following after him. she too saw Ian Poor guy I cannot say I envy him she thought to herself as she sat down "Hi Ambrosse and Amaya" she said looking more closely at Amaya, there was definetaly more green now then the first time she had seen her, but she didn't think she looked... bad, just ... different

Amaya Vaughan
"Big sister?" Amaya snorted with a laugh, gradually looking like the same cheerful girl before she had changed for the second time. "Even though I'd like to help you through it and even be there to make things a little smoother... I really feel you need to tell her alone. It'll give you freedom to vent without any interferance. Afterwards though, feel free to come to me if you need anything, alright?" She gave her 'big brother' a smile.

At the realization that she probably would be one of the first to finish she shuddered, but smiled a little at his joke. "Well, at least then it'll be over with, right? No more painful changes or fear of what might happen the next day besides awkward meetings and such." She tried to look at it in a postive light, no matter how little it was.

Amaya jumped a little when Ian started to heave. She was about to make sure he was alright but then something occured to her... the fact that deer and cows and things like that would regurgatate their food and re-chew it. Oh god. She had to look away, her face paling. "God... I'm sorry, Ian." She pushed the veggies around in her bowl with her fork, having suddenly lost her appitite.

"Hey Chubbs, Joliette." She smiled a little and waved her large hand a little to both of them.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambose shook his head. "It... it's alright. Really. I've had worse reactions, and I've at least had some time to get... somewhat used to it myself now. It was harder when I still was newly chagned. But... I have to admit... I still somewhat feel like a stranger in my own skin now." He took several quick bites of food. "The fur covering me.... a different face in the mirror... I feel so ... out of place still. I know I'll get used to it... but in the meantime I still feel so strange... so...." He swallowed, the word was there, but he was almost scared to vocalize it. "so... inhuman. animal."

Ambrose cocked his head at he noise that Ian made, and then, with widening eyes, guessed at what had happened. The poor b*****d. At least He didn't have to deal with anything quite like that. Just... a penchant for meat.

"I... wasn't exactly being serious" Ambrose winced. "though... it is ONE way. I... ah.. .was speaking about that with Emelyn the other day - what IS the best way to tell - or not to tell others. We finally said that everyone's going to react differently. Everyone's here for different reasons, and thus there really IS no single good way that we could think of at least to tell people."

Ambrose smild to the pair as they came over. "Hi guys. YOu don't need to be strangers. Scales and fur aside - we don't bite." He winked.

Ambrose nodded to Amaya.. "You're right - I do need to do it alone. And I will. I promise you. You can kick my a** if you see me next time and I havent' spoken with her. Speaking of - we need to get back to your fencing lessons. Hope you've been practicing." He winked and clapped her on the shouler.

Ambroe glanced down at his wristwatch as he finished the last bite of food. "Yeep... Angelina's probably waiting for me. I need to go bring her breakfast, she's probably waiting." He stood up and smiled to the group.

"I'm sorry, I hate to eat and run, but I'm sure I'll see you all about!"

With a wave, he bussed his tray, piled an assortment of food onto another, and carried it out.

Ian Campbell
Ian still felt really sick from what had just occured. He looked at his plate of apples and the realization hit him that he would regurgitate and chew all his food for the rest of his life. That really hit a nerve and he started to shake. "I....I must go...sorry for any inconvenience....." He grabbed his apples and took care of his plate before dashing out the door hoping he would be able to get back in his duplex.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked as Ambrose left just as he arrived, sure he was busy with things but Chubbs wouldn't have minded the company. Then no sooner had he sat down then the deer guy dashed off out the door. Chubbs watched them go and sighed a bit, looking at his half eaten meal.

He looked up at Amaya, half expecting her to go now, maybe for the deer's sake. Chubbs hated being new, there was so much he didn't under stand or know and people he had to keep meeting. He just lowered his hat brim and leaned on the table with one arm, stabbed a potato with a fork and nibbled it.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette blinked watching the pair go "Good luck Ambrose" she said remembering the previous time she'd seen him "Bye Ian" she said as he departed, my that was the second time Ian had left before Joliette had had a chance, but, she figured he must have needed it. She looked at Chubbs curiously for a moment then to Amaya "How are you" she said not neccessarily focusing it was a lil unnerving unlike her first meeting with hargun who she thought was in costume

Amaya Vaughan
"Not as of late, sadly. But I'll get back to it soon, I promise... and I'll remember that whole 'permition to kick your butt' thing." Amaya gave a cheesy grin to Ambrose and waved as he left. "See ya Ambrose!"

Though upon watching Ian scramble out as well, her smile quickly faded. "Take care, Ian!" She frowned as she watched him go. Poor guy. With a sigh, she returned her attention to the two... now feeling very... naked? No, that wasn't the word... inhuman as Ambrose had called it. Like she didn't fit in with the two others sitting before her. An alien surrounded by humans.

Noting from Chubbs' reaction, she assumed what he was feeling. She flicked her tongue out to taste his emotions, now her senses even more pronounced. Amaya picked up a large range of feelings, her eyes widdening. Wow.

"Sorry about that, but Ambrose has a girl back at his duplex to care for and Ian just... went through the change a few hours ago. He's probably still a little tired and stuff." She smiled at the two, pushing around her salad.

"Oh y'know... good, considering. How about you two?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked up and finished off his potato, in one big bite, he chewd it before answering. He was glad at least Amaya stayed, he liked her, he couldn't have imagined taking the news about the island from anyone else.

" I'm.. ah.. umm okay.. bit sore from yesterday though... and ah a little tired from lack of sleep... been having unexpected visitors to my room.

Chubbs rubbed the back of his neck and then blushed, always finding his comments could be taken the wrong way.

" Oh.. ah.. what I ah.. mean is that umm Colche came in about.. umm four thirty and dragged me off to the beach.. I'd only got to bed about umm three hours earlier"

Joliette Rigiel
"Good, Theres another new person on teh island... I didn't have hte heart to tell her, least not alone.. She got defensive when I asked what brought her here... she thinks this is a camp for persons with mental disabilities" she sighed pushing away her plate after a couple more bites, she was full

She looked at Chubbs "I hope you are ok, you didn't have to carry the sink alone..." she said softly

Amaya Vaughan
"Awwww, that's so cute!" Amaya squealed with a grin. "She's getting much better. Normally she's scared of guys and not brave enough to visit others by herself... Though I am sorry about the lack of sleep." She laughed nervously.

"Oh no, another person?" She sighed, her shoulders slumping. "Well, if she got defensive over you just asking her... I really dunno how well she's gonna handle the truth. And as horrible as this may sound, I really don't know if I could handle telling her..." She started to finish off her salad. "What's her name and what's this about a sink?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blushed like crazy when Amaya said how cute it was that she came to drag him off. It was cute, Colche was just all cute, just it would have been cuter if she'd came later. Chubbs hid his face for now, but continued to talk.

" Ummm well ah.. her names Chana.. from what Joliette ah told me... she lives above me... I was gonna try to umm... maybe tell her"

Chubbs rubbed the side of his cheek, he wasn't that confident he could.

" Oh the sink.. ah I umm lifted a sink.. probably the ah wrong way..I'm feeling better, it's ok"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yes, she found me taking photos of hte mountain today and I gave her a little tour, she arrived this morning... She had strange writing on her shirt, hebrew maybe?" she shrugged "Chubbs helped me take my darkroom sink from in front of Jamal's duplex where the gormless white-haired arse delivered all my equipment up to number 28" she seemed a lil iritable when she spoke her nickname for Sabin

Amaya Vaughan
"I doubt she'd believe you if you told her, Chubbs... normally someone who's changed at least once has to be the one to break the news. Otherwise they won't believe it if you don't have any poof. If I bump into her before someone else tells her I'll have to break it to her..." Amaya tried to smile, but it came out awkward... though she couldn't help but giggle a little at how easily Chubbs got embarassed.

"Darkroom sink? So... your making a dark room? That's pretty cool. Something to keep yourself occupied. I'd love to help if I can." An eyebrow then raised at the whole 'gormless white-haired arse' comment. She had a feeling she was talking about Sabin... wonder what had happened.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs woofed down a slab of roast in between conversations, he was particularily hungry. Chubbs agreed with Amaya, not that he didn't want to do it, he thought he would be really unbelievable.

" If you do tell her, ya, umm.. come see me after.. umm okay hun?"

Chubbs wanted to be there incase Amaya couldn't handle it like last time she told him.

" I've been, umm trying to ah find things to umm do.. round here. Kinda feeling useless... I helped out Joliette though"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette found she could't exactly watch Chubbs eat hte meat, it bothered her stomach so she simply just kept talking "I have yes, it's int eh duplex above mine, I've had no luck with anything else though, first hte git sends me a pile of clothing a could not and would not ever wear, and then he delivers my equipment clear across the village. You are welcome to come up some time Amaya" she smiled "I think we are all feeling a lil... out of place if nothing else Chubbs, dont worry about it" she smiled

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya gave a tiny smile and nodded to Chubbs, knowing that he was getting at the fact that she couldn't even tell him without bursting into tears. "Yeah, that feeling happens to a lot of people... theirs so much time now that you don't know what to do with. Most of my time has been spent sleeping, basking, or making dolls with what little material I have left over." She had finished a few ever since she arrived, one of an alligator and another of a regular ragdoll with shoelaces for hair.

"Jeeze, the staff is doing crap like that?" She looked at Joliette, surprised. "... Pardon my language but, danm. That's just childish." How old were they? Five? They put them on this ******** island, gradually turned them into animals, and pulled s**t like that? Something boiled up inside Amaya, causing her brow to furrow for both the fact she was angry and that the odd feeling was foreign to her.

Colche
"Hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock" The gentle voice of the dark haired girl rang in to the cafeteria as she pushed the door open. A book was open in ehr hands, the magical leap pad she had been given, it was the most amazing thing she had ever been given and it belonged to her completely "The mouse ran up the clock" she giggles turning the pages and pressing the buttons so she could mimic the song "The clock struck one, Ping!" she giggles again flickering the page over "The mouse ran down, diddily diddily, hickory dickory dock, tic toc tic toc." Her nose wrinkles in a sweet little grin as she looked up those big baby blue eyes bright and cheerful, of course upon spotting three people she knew she potterd over "Chuubs, Amaya, Joliette!" she giggles, she had rememberd all their names, she had a good memory for things after a fashion. Her tail twitched, she had changed in to a baggy tshiurt and a pair of panties, it was comfortable for ehr it let her tail, which was still a bit sore, hang over without getting caught or pressing against the base which was the sorest part.

She realised that only Chubbs had seen her recent change so she supposed she had better point them out to the others "tail" she stated turning around and showing off her wriggling fluffy stubb before sitting down. She had come in for some lunch but it could wait. She sat in a chair next to chubbs peeping up at the big guy with admireing eyes before turning to the others "very fuzzy now" she gigles, stating the obvious. She still clung to her happy ways, though she had gone through pain in her change she was still pleased as punch to be on the island, she had never felt safer.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs nodded with a bit of a frown, looking between the pair, he decided he could always come back later to eat, put his utensils down and pushed the dish aside. He leaned on the table and shook his head.

" Yeah.. I mean.. well, they already are well, ruining the lives of us yeah?... I umm wouldn't put it ah, pass em to be assholes"

Chubbs couldn't believe some of the suff they had down, and how he got so mad at them. He wanted to get back onto a cheerier side of things.

" You umm, make dolls?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yes, he did, that arse" she sighed and shook her head and then with a look towards Chubb and a smile ahd wondered too "Dolls? " she glanced towards the door and saw Colche and waved at the girl

Amaya Vaughan
As Colche entered, Amaya smiled and was about to say hello before the girl turned around and showed them her tail. She gaped. Colche had changed too?! Otherwise though, the girl was happy. She tried to force a smile for her sake. "Yes, Colche very fuzzy. Amaya has a tail too now. See?" She turned slightly so that the tail hanging over her tan pajama capris could be seen. Then spying the new book she raised a brow and tapped it with a long claw. "You got a new book? Who gave it to you?" Did the staff give it to her? Wow, talk about extremes. One second their sending people horrible clothing and the next their supplying them with learning material.

"Oh, yes." Amaya smiled at Chubbs and Joliette with a nod, finishing her salad as well and pushing the dish over a little so she could rest her arms on the table, her large hands drapping over the side. "Just a little hobby of mine. They don't look very good and are made with just leftover patches of fabric and thread, but it keeps me busy." Come to think of it, she should make one for Colche...

Colche
Colche gave a teeny giggle and grinned "Aubrey gave" she puurred, she was Aubreys special project though she didn;'t know it, Aubrey looked after her like the mother she never had, bringing her noce things when she could. Her huge blue eyes grinned and she held oout the book to show amaya "Words for me" she smiles, closing the book which was entitled 'Nusery rhymes' She had lots of different books for the leap pad and she was coming on in leaps and bounds learning from them, she had even learnt to count to thirty, which in itself was a big acheivment "Colche ask Aubrey words, Aubrey give Colche words, Aubrey nice" She wrinkles her nose and gigges watching people push away their plates her stomach giving a little growl, she had the munchies, maybe she should get something? Soon, she wanted to sit with everyone for a little bit first, she was so proud of he change it hadn't phased her after the innitial pain of it all, the island was her home and she liked being fuzzy.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked and heard his name, Colche had come in and was giddy as always. When she turned and showed her tail, Chubbs blushed and looked away, not wanting to be witnessing someone in their underpants. Chubbs listened to Colche explain what she had been doing with her books and where she got them from. He understood now how she'd been talking alot better. He was still blushing when she sat beside him, she looked up and smiled and he smiled shyly back and gave her a pat on her head.

" Least someone well.. ah seems to be alright ah outa this staff... Maybe we should umm try to get her in future"

Joliette Rigiel
"If we can" Joliette agreed looking at colche's book remembering seeing the girl with it a few mornings previous. "Sabin cannot get ANYTHING right... the git" she said his name with utter distaste in her voice "You are doing well Colche" she added giving the girl some praise

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya took the book and looked at the title, then opened it up to skim the inside. "Wow, Aubrey is nice..." She smiled before closing the book and handing it back to Colche. "Your learning a lot of words, Colche. Good job!" She clapped her large hands together in praise to the girl. Every little step was huge for her and she deserved the encouragement.

"I actually met Aubrey breifly before. She helped us carry Mister Dude back to his duplex after he had been put to sleep by Moreau at the Halloween party. I've heard a lot of nice things about her, actually... seems to be the only sane one on the staff."

Colche
Colche giggled happily she was glad everyone liked her book and how well she was doing. At the pat on the head she puurred softly her eyes closing a big kitty getting petted by a very large man, it felt nice. She opens ehr eyes again holding tightly to her book now "Aubrey good, brings nice things" she smiles she was wearing one of the new tops that Aubrey had braught for her as well she was so proud of ehr new wardrobe and her new words, she couldn't possibly be sad "Amaya pretty tail" she stated suddenly with a little giggle ehr blue eyes sparkling. She bit her tongue for a moment though and looked at Amaya "what be Amaya?" her brow creased, the words sometimes got lost in her tongues translation hopefully she would understand though, she didn't exactly know what she was herself though 'kitty' had been whisperd in to her ear by some unknown force.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled and clapped with Amaya with the praising of Colche. He chuckled when Colche bit her tongue, it was very cute. Chubbs decided she should get something , maybe like a reward. He excused himself and headed for the food. He came back moments later with a piece of chocolate cake for Colche, he'd seen her eat it once and figured she liked it,

" Good job Colche"

He smiled a little than looked to Amaya hearing Colche's question, he wanted to know as well.

" Least I'd get something better, umm for ya, ah Amaya, Rather than that ah, hamster crap .. well what umm Sabin said"

Amaya Vaughan
"Uhh..." Slightly taken aback by the question she forced a smile to Colche and the others, knowing they probably wanted to know too. To Colche changing wasn't as bad thing, it was good and made things fuzzy. "Lizard. Green iguana. You know what they are, Colche?" She didn't know if her knowledge spread outside the basic animals... though the girl probably knew what a lizard was.

"The pattern on my tail and the spikes are pretty much a dead givaway, I think. Though I haven't really sat down to look them up and such quiet yet... saving that for when I'm a little more open to my new apperance."

Colche
Colche giggles "lizard, green Ig..wana" she grins and points to herself "kitty" she states forgetting all about talking at being offerd chocolate cake "Chocolate cake!" she squees and hugs Chubbs before digging in to the big peice of cake without a moments hesitation, covering her maw and nose in chocolate cream as usual. She finishes the cake in moments flat, it was her favourite treat and stopped her belly rumbling no problem. Her ears fluttered and her tongue snakes out trying to reach the peice of cream that sat doggedly on the tip of her nose. One day she would be able to lick pretty much her own muzzle with her tongue, but at the moment she was a good few centimeters short so after a bit of struggling she reached a finger up and licked that instead. "cake good" she grins her little stump of a tail twitching.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs squinted he eyes and looked at Amaya.

"Y-yeah I can see it a bit .. ah I guess"

He suddenly blinked at Colche's squeal of delight and her quick hug. He blushed and chuckled looking at her. She ate worse than he did. He couldn't help chuckle again at her trying to get the cream off her nose. He should teach her to use a fork.

" Yep... cake ah.. is good"

Chubbs rubbed the back of his neck and rested back in his chair, happy with the company

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette stretched "Well guys, I am tired, I think I'm going to get some sleep" she told them and stood up picking up her plate too, she smiled "Thanks and talk to you all soon" she said and headed to take care of dropping it off, she realized out of the 4 of them she was the only one who did not know what she was going to be become. She gave the group a smile and wave before disappearing out the door

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya laughed as she watched Colche devour the chocolate cake she had been given. She was such a cutie.

"See ya later, Joliette." She waved as the woman left.

Colche
Colche Lifted a hand and waved to Joliete "byebye" she smiles licking her fingers of any cake remnants. She smiles at Amaya "Amaya kay?" she tilted ehr head in a cat like manner her big blue eyes curious. Strangely she had a sixth sence about these things, she didn't understand why people were so upset , nothing on the island struck her as being an upsetting situation but everyone seemed so sad, she just wished she could understand why "Amaya sad" she asks pouting a little ber brow furrowing, she wanted everyone to be happy, seeing, feeling and even smelling that people were upset made her feel rather down she was so happy to be out of the dark enjoying life, having friends and family, she loved life on the island.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled softly and waved to Joliette, out of habit wishing in her head a safe trip home, but there were no muggers or thieves here, they were all victims. Chubbs blinked and looked to Colche and her questioning, always questions to seek with Colche. He looked to Amaya and patted Colche absentmindedly, giving Amaya a smile.

" Curious ah Colche, think we should um call her"

"Ichi.. Ni... San... Shi... Go... Roku... Shichi... Hachi... Ku... Ju..." Joliette's voice broke through the clear crisp morning air, she was once again barefoot on the beach in her black Gi and once again working out to wake up. Each alternating number either a 'punch' or a kick depending on odd or even, she was facing towards the water as she moved

Rayanya wasn't really paying a lot of attention to anything. Years in the city had thought her to instinctually block out noises caused by nearly anything human, and aside from that, the young woman was concentrating almost chiefly on either the water or the sand before her. She was a touch homesick, as she was slowly discovering, and was reliving the time she had spent in the city. She wondered if she would ever get used to being out here, the beautiful beaches and seemingly desolate landscape, and the... THUD. Random girl in front of her?

This took Joliette by surprise being on one foot at the time. , she tumbled at the collision but caught herself from harm by instinctively tucking into a roll and coming out in a crouched position on her feet. The short French brit looked up at the person who had run into her

"Oof!" Rayanya was not so fortunate. Not very fortunate at all. She hadn't adequate reflexes and she toppled over, landing face-first in the sand, getting it in her mouth and even up her nose. With a groan she got to her feet, trying to brush the sand from her beloved clothes and spit it out of her mouth. Perhaps beaches weren't as nice as she thought they were.

After sufficiently brushing the sand from her form, Rayanya lifted her top hat back into its proper position on her head. Turning around, she faced the other girl and gave a quick apology. "Are you all right?"

"I'm ok" Joliette said in a thick British accent before standing up "Are you?" she asked after watching her clean herself off and dealing with the sand in her mouth

"Pft!" Rayanya resorted to a primitive method of getting the sand out of her mouth by doing a form of spit, something that she normally would not do around other people but she considered this a special case. She was thankful to see there was no blood in it.

"I'm perfectly fine," she replied. "A bit sandy but that will happen." Her accent was odd, not as placeable as the other girl's. It was New York City with a hint of German added in for flavor.

Joliette nodded "I am glad to hear that you are, I'm Joliette" she said, her name sounding very French considering her British accent. She stuck her hand towards the woman she had never met before

Rayanya regarded the hand for a moment before she realized that it was to be shaken in greeting, not to seal a deal. She laughed a few cold peals at herself and extended her hand to meet Joliette's, shaking it gently. "I love the pronunciation. My name is Rayanya VonStrantz, but you can just call me Ray if you prefer."

Joliette gave her a firm handshake before letting go "Thankyou, it's French, my family is french" she said with a smile "Ray, sounds good to me, are you new here?" she asked having never seen the female before, but there she'd not seen a number of the people if her guess was correct that there were as many people there as there were occupied units

"Ah, mine's German," responded Rayanya as a side note. Her blue eyes flashed towards the sea for a moment before concentrating, once again, on Joliette. "Yeah, I just came in last night. This is my first day exploring the island. I pretty much came in and got my shot, then went to bed. Don't know if it was the medicine or the jet lag, but I passed out for quite some time."

Joliette sighed and looked towards the ocean, another one... why couldn't they be happy with the number they already had?!? "Well welcome I guess" she said with a weak smile and a nod

Rayanya sighed. "Yeah... I don't quite feel like I'm welcome, though. I suppose its just homesickness. But you're the first nice person I came across. The helicopter pilot seemed cranky, and the doctor -- I'm assuming he's a doctor, he never introduced myself but he knew my name and gave me a shot -- seemed less than a warm-hearted fellow. But I suppose it'll happen. Its kind of like the city, but on a smaller scale." Rayanya returned Joliette's smile, though she rolled her eyes right along with it.

"Which one did you get? Doctor that is" she asked hooking her thumbs on her black belt that encircled her waist. She knew of two doctors that were male, the third she had heard was female... was there more? she did not know

"Some jerk with red hair, kind of a sadistic look on his face. Not all that bad looking... old, of course. And he could have really ditched the geeky glasses." Rayanya chuckled, picking a sea shell up from the beach and rubbing her fingers along it, investigating the texture.

"Moreau" she said "I've not met him, only heard about him" she said with a nod "I don't know if I would have preferred him, Sabin is a git, but I have heard Moreau to be ... mad" she said unsure just how much Ray knew or what she had been told

"I didn't really pick up much on him, just that he looked like a sadistic jerk." Rayanya smiled one of her eerie smiles, looking at Joliette out of the corner of her eyes. "He didn't really say much to me aside from the basics of what I needed to know before I was injected with the experimental injection, and I didn't really ask a lot. But when you're getting five grand to help pay off your debt and you have no other way out... well, you just don't ask a lot of questions."

"So you know then that we are all experiments then" Joliette asked looking rather surprised at that possibility, so far all she'd heard was that noone she knew of had been told the true purpose of their being there previous to arrival

Rayanya chuckled. "Well of course! That's what medical research is all about. The company tests it on the lab rats til they get it right, then they keep trying on others. Eventually they have to work with humans to see if it works. I just wish I knew exactly what the shot was for: you know, what its meant to cure or whatnot." She tossed the shell she had been playing with into the ocean. "But as I said, I'm getting five thousand dollars for this, and I really need the money. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right?"

Joliette sighed, not exactly the truth "Oh... it works..." she said pictures of the others who had changed flashing through her mind "And I doubt money will be an issue, it's not for any of us" she thought to herself

Rayanya tilted her head. "What do you mean, that money's not an issue? Do they end up giving you more? Because when I get home I'm going to have about five different bill collectors leaping down my throat." Ray rolled her eyes, then picked up another shell.

"Have no need for money here, and back on the mainland I have my credit going to shits with a missing rental yacht to my name" She she sat down on the sand crossing her legs and leaning on them looking out over the water

"Missing yacht?" Rayanya quirked a brow at the other woman. "What did you do? Steal it? Accidentally run it into some cliffs?" Rayanya remained standing as Joliette sat, preferring not to get any sand on her beloved skirt.

"Nope, Moreau took it apart" she said plainly, she wanted to just blurt it all out, but she was not sure how to...

Rayanya tilted her head. "The doctor? The one who gave me my shot took it apart? Why in the world would he do that?"

"To keep me or anyone else from using it" she said looking up at Ray "trust me I was surprised when I learned it had happened"

"Why in the world would he do that?" Rayanya looked confused now, and a bit angry. "I mean, we're just here to be researched. If someone wants to go for a bit of a ride in a boat, what does it matter? I don't know about the other people on the island, but come back. After all, we're getting paid to be a temporary test subject! What's he so paranoid about?"

"Ray... do you want to know the truth?" she asked quietly her eyes searching the woman's expression

Rayanya chuckled. "Damn, Joliette, the way you just said that last statement sounds like something fresh out of a cheesy horror story." Rayanya smiled at Joliette, but it soon faded as she realized the expression on the other woman's face. "Oh gods. You're serious, aren't you?"

Joliette nodded "I am Ray, trust me I learned it by one of the people here too, I've avoided being the one to tell anyone up till this point." she said her expression never faltering

Rayanya's smile had completely died by now, and she folded her arms over her chest. "What is it? What didn't they tell me?"

"Well, lets see, you never have to worry about your debts, cause you won't be going home... You are an experiment but not for any cures, we're being turned into animals here. Most of us against our wills. When I came here I was under the impression this was a movie set, I came to the triangle in search of Vasile DiRossi not believing his disappearance and stumbled across here and was tricked to come ashore" she sighed

Rayanya's already pale flesh paled even more considerably. "Won't be going home? Wait, being turned into animals?" She paused, realizing that her heart had sped up and her breath, quickened. After taking a few moments to slow both her breathing and her heart, she gave a laugh, though there was nothing behind it. "Good one, Joliette. Really funny."

"Not a joke" she said looking back out to the sea "If you don't wish to believe me I can't say I blame you since I don't personally have proof, but... well you'll see" she said "Not sure if you know of Vasile the actor... but he is here" she said quietly

Rayanya shook her head. "No, it can't possibly be true. You've got to be kidding me. Humans don't turn into animals. Well, maybe in stupid TV shows for little kids but... Humans turning into animals is a ridiculous and impossible concept!" Ray didn't care about the actor right now, she was more concerned with this new information. Gods, what if it was true? But it couldn't be... it just couldn't

"I would have thought so too, but one look at Hargun, Ambrose, the Dude, Amaya, Colche, Vasile..." she listed the ones she could think of off the top of her head that she had seen "Well lets just say I'm thoroughly convinced"

"Impossible." Rayanya put a pout on her face, throwing down the second sea shell. "I'm sorry, Joliette, you seem like a nice girl but I just can't believe that. I... I need to get going, find some stuff in my room. I'll see you around." With that, Rayanya started walking down the beach, back towards her duplex.

"I will see you around Ray, if you need anything.. you can find me in 27" she said before picking up some sand and throwing it towards the water "Stupide Joliette, shoulda kept quiet" she berated herself and stood up again "Ichi.. Ni... San... Shi... Go... Roku... Shichi... Hachi... Ku... Ju..." she started again sounding forceful as she got rid of her frustrations trying to forget what had just happened as Ray walked away

Rayanya walked brisquely, merely waving a hand at Joliette as she disappeared along the coastline. All she wanted now was to get back to her room, perhaps later find someone who wouldn't try to play with her head to talk to. Honestly, who ever heard of humans turning into animals?
