Mrs.BonJovi I was twelve (i'm 17 now) & I had just come back from camp & was on my way to Red Deer. Two days later I was supposed to be going to Saskatchwean for a week. Right in between leaving cmap & going to Saskatchewan I got it. My aunt was the first one to help me the she told my mom when we met up in Sask. I love tampons but I hate pads. I only wear them at night cause I don't want Toxic Shock Syndrom. I hate pads cause their's a risk of leaking off the sode & they fee like i'm wearing a diaper. & it's just plain messy. Tampons I just insert it & away I go!! Lucky, i can't weat tampons they hurt like all hell for me (and its not because im a virgin, because im not). So i wear pads, i got used to them but i know what you mean about the diaper thing. I got mine last of all my friends, i was in 8th grade in August on...either the 28th or the 30th so im not sure how old i was off the top of my head since im not going to try doing the math. I'm 16 now, 17 in november.

Drunk Driving I got my period in the 5th grade. I was really little and it happened outta no where. Girls would laugh at me cause sometimes I would have accidents with the pad. I was to little for tampons. Girls are mean. gonk I know, everyone says girls are all nice but they're not(not always at least)! crying

i got mine at age 9 sweatdrop . i came home from school and used the bathroom then i see blood on my underwear. i was like what the hell is this? my mom said it got all over uniform and stuff sweatdrop she didnt seem so shocked about it though. i was though sweatdrop im 15 now i havent missed a month smile

i got mine the day before my brothers birthday april 3 this year when i was 11, im 12 now turned 12 on april 19.. anyways i was in bathroom and noticed a blood spot on my pants and i screamed and my mom came in and said omg another woman in the house and my brother was there and heard everything SOO embarrasing!!

I was 13, and in my tech class in school talking to a boy who at the time I fancied.
I felt the flood gates open and the red sea flowing so I ran to the loo and made a make shift pad out of toilet paper and just didn't sit down the rest of the day because my black trousers didn't show the blood but the blue chairs would.

The day after I turned 13 I got my period. I had had a sleepover too and it started right after everyone left. I got really scared 'cause in the toiled water, it looked like a LOT of blood and my mom had said there'd only be a little bit so I ran to her and was crying. But she made me feel all better lol. Now I'm 19 and wish I had only that much blood coming out instead of this heavy stuff haha.

LeRaven I thought this might be a little humourous for us girls to share our 'becoming a woman' stories. If your too embarassed or don't want to share, that's fine, but as much as I hate my period, it can be something to laugh over too. Well, I'm in grade 9, and I'm 14, and I got my period in grade 6, when I was 12 I believe. So I was sitting on the toliet reading, (I always read on the toliet!) and I sat up and noticed a drop of blood, and imidiately ran and got my mom and showed her. When I pointed, she sighed and said "Here we go...". Of course the first time was very light, and unfournately it was the day before Track and Field! And I wasn't used to wearing a pad, so it felt awkard running whee So, when did you get your period, where did it occur? It doesn't have to be a funny story, just tell! (I would think this thread would be allowed!) Edit: I realized there's a similar thread to this one of the front page, but it was SEX/PUBERTY not just periods so maybe this thread will be allowed. And not just went you got your period, other embarssingly/funny period moments as well, i dont no when i started mine, but i noticed when i was wiping, well actully when i was going to go wash my hands 'cause some of the blood got on my hands, so i thought that i had cut myself, but figured out that i was going through my peirod, the not so cool part was that this was in a store, so i culdn't go screaming out of the bathroom yelling"NOOOOOOOOOOO I STARTED MY PEIRIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" but i get used 2 pads after 'bout 5-10 min.

It was the beginning of January 2005 I was 13 years old. My Bro had a bladder infection (and I was in the beginning of one) I went to the bathroom and saw blood. I was just like "Ok is this my period, or is my bladder infection getting worse??!!" I went to Mom and asked her, she smiled and hugged me and said "Yup, it's your period!!" I just said "Damn" xd I'm 16 years old now, and I hate it just as much as I did back then. Though it's still irregular, so when I miss a month or two I am happy as hell lol (And I don't panic because I missed it because I'm not sexual active or anything.)

I got mine back in December. Yeah. This December. Awesome time to get your first period. It was freaking cold. ;-;
Anyway, I got to skip school that day to go on a trip to New York with my mom and my step-father's family. We took a public bus ups and back down. I was extremly lucky, because I think It actually started to flow on the way back and the bus was dark. I was laying down on the seats and all of a sudden I felt a heavy flow of. . . something. . come out of me. . from . . . Yeah. . . >.> . . . and I just though it was discharge. So, My step-father's parents ended up taking me home and nothing seemed out of place to me.
When I got inside, I used the toilet, and there it was. :S
A gigantic dark red stain in my panties. Still wet.
I am so happy I got pads a week earlier. I started having cramps around that time and told my mom. She took me out to buy pads just incase.
I haven't had it since.

I didn't expect this many people to have their periods this early.
I'm also jealous of all of you who had their mother's by their side when they had their first period..
I was 14? and vacation in China (I went there by myself) and it was really random. I knew it was my period and for the week that I've had it... I probably had little to no sleep at all. It was summer (and in China it's scorching hot) and I was so uncomfortable I sat up when I slept cause I was scared the blood would go through my butt. Good times... good times.

I got it when I was 12 at a friend's house. >.> Made a makeshift pad out of toilet paper. It didn't help when I told my mom, because she was less than happy, thinking I was "young" when I got it. (She was actually a late bloomer, getting hers at 14-15ish. -.-)
Tampons look more convenient, but I've never tried them. >.< Scary things...
