Kiriwar leaned forward a little as he tried to peer at the next egg, surprised to find that it was actually rather... shy. He blinked slowly, before smiling crookedly as the little green was finally revealed with the help of her mother. She was quite darling... He hoped she would not be too upset. He shuffled his feet a little, watching to see what would happen next.

---

As this was happening, Bevan was bored, sighing quietly and looking aside. Another green... he was sure that he would not get this little green. He just waited for the next to come, now...

My my my, poor child...Govind smiled affectionately at the tiny dragonets' shy behavior as her mother gave her a not-so-gentle shove into the new world of heat and sand. The little green looked conflicted, like most of the hatchlings had been when they spilled out from their former safe-house, and seemed to be staring at the crowd...

The miner gave the dragon a small, mental smile of encouragement as he stared out above the heads of some smaller boys. Despite that shy personality, the green was indeed quite darling. A fine partner to whomever she chose today, no doubt.

A green... His attention perked immediately as he realized the little creature was timid, perhaps not wanting to poke itself out right away. "You can do it." He'd mutter under his breath, blinking as the Queen dragon had to help the tiny thing out into the world. He hadn't even noticed the egg had cracked--weren't dragonets usually scrambling out to find their partners?

The poor thing looked flustered, and he also sensed Kiriwar's mutual concern for her. He'd lean against the man briefly, clucking under his tongue in an unconscious attempt to soothe the dragonet--worked with herdbeasts, after all. "Go find your bonded, lassie, we're going nowhere fast." The brunette would murmur under his breath.

A green was on the sands now, Okassis noted. For one of the girls, doubtlessly - but the little creature was just sort of sitting there, shell-shocked by the confusion and chaos of her own Hatching. He couldn't fully help a bit of a uncomfortable smile, seeing the poor green's discomfit - that way, he tried to gesture the little dragon toward the females with a faint jut of his chin. It was beginning to occur to him how strange and disorganized even the process of Hatching was, and how distressing it must be to the newborn dragons; he'd have to think on this later....

Jessmet watched as another brown shoved through the group of boys. She entertained brief hopes as a newly-hatched blue dragonet seemed interested in the girls, but clearly he was not for her.

In all the clamor, she hadn't noticed the little green egg trying in vain to hatch until the Queen stepped in to help. Jessmet smiled in sympathy-- she'd felt hardened shells before.

Having been watching attentively and hopefully as each egg cracked and then hatched, Aydin was starting to get just a bit tired of the surges of hope that welled up every time a dragonet emerged, only to die down again once they had chosen their bondmate.

He was starting to get disappointed before the Hatching was even over...would he or Kadri even be... considered? Then he shook himself with a little frown. This was no way to think! It was just like with the last Hatching. If no dragon chose them now, it just meant that the dragons meant for them were not in this clutch!

Clenching fists just a bit, he tried to control his up and down emotions with a little shiver.

As often as she had stood for Hatchings, Nessa couldn't help but pick up on the other Candidates' excitement after a while. She had noticed this newest green ducking in and out of her egg and smiled slightly at that. Shy, hmm?

Sonya, had found herself a little later than most when it came to the hatching. She never expected it to be the case, but then she never seemed to notice exactly how many candidates would be rushing for their robes and maybe for the best spot on the sands. The young candidate found herself at the back of the crowd of girls, a little excited as well as being a little dissapointed at the same time. It was obvious a few of the dragonets had already hatched. At least though, the silver lining happened to be that there were more to come, more to hatch.

Bringing herself up onto tip toe Sonya managed to steal a look at the young green as it fell out of its egg onto the sands. She couldn't help but smile seeing the poor thing so worried and shy. Dragons were just as deep as humans, maybe even more so. The smile though was not one out of meaness, just simply relief.

Riyinn watched as the queen lowered her head for a moment she figured maybe someone pissed her off, with a push she knocked over one of her eggs to out spill a green form. She smiled someone else was to be impressed but the green just sat.. how strange.

Talar watched with curiosity as the Queen helped out the next Dragonet began to hatch, and she idly wondered who would Impress such a scared and worried little thing, conveniently forgetting her own worry and nerves. The redhead scanned the crowd of Candidates, and finally spotted Kiriwar, one of the only faces familiar to herself. Next to him stood a young boy that she had not met yet. They shared similar features... Perhaps this was Bevan, the brother Kiriwar had told her of once. Soon enough though, her attention was back on the Green, wondering if she would even be brave enough to cross the Sands to get to to the one she was to Impress upon.

A little green scared to come out and face the world. The green rider almost made a motherly noise. Her normally hazel eyes were bright green with emotion. Trying not to sniffle, Kallista watched and waited to see if the green would even make an attempt to Impress.

Shameful! She is a green and should be proud of it! Astarteth bugled in her weyr. This green knew exactly who she was and what she was about.

-----
Zhaylan was simply thrilled with the brown's markings. Hopefully, that one's rider wouldn't object to drawings. Lots and lots of drawings. So many stripes. Pretty spots on the blue too! Zhay was more interested in the pairs now rather than the actual Hatching.

What had that blue ever seen in him, anyways?

"Pretty stripe brown. Spotty blue. Stripes and spots, nice contrast. Maybe together picture." He mumbled to himself. He paid no mind to the little green who hatched out. She did not stand out in his mind, therefore didn't merit too much attention.

Not once did Zhaylan think that his other half may be in the Sands. Up with the rest of the crowd, Tersa could see that Zhaylan would not be Impressing this time around. There had to be some way to break him from his art.

Nope, the little green was still not liking all this attention. It was just getting her more and more flustered, so that she found herself huddling behind her mother, fear overriding biological imperative. The Queen gently prodded her daughter out, pushing her back onto the center of the hot sands, so that the little green blinked once or twice, taking a hesitant step, first towards the boys, and then changing so that she was examining the girls. She took one more step towards them, still trembling and mewling.

She spotted hers amidst the crowd of girls, but she was too shy and too scared to go that long distance. Not with everyone watching her like that! She clearly wasn't one for attention, this little girl.

Quinnel, come save Winath! There are people watching me and there are so many and I don't like it and please come now and take me to food. It came out in one breathless rush, an exhalation of words that was both frenzied and tinged with the happiness of Impression. Well... Maybe not all the dragons in the clutch would be so bold and forward, as it was. Poor, shy little Winath certainly wasn't.

Veyes actually could understand the new green's desire to remain hidden. The rush and excitement had overtaken his usual desire to slip away from the crowds and he only had recently started to feel that slight disturbance to the stillness within. It usually took events like this to make him overcome his own inner anxiety of being in a large crowd; something on the spur of the moment that didn't allow him to think to hard. Like, recently his "nakedness" at the public at the lake. Was that an effect of the Weyr itself? Well it was practically impossible to live as secluded as he had been at the Farm and all the contact with people would help bring upon that change. But now that he did think of it more and more...there were a lot of people watching.

Just a bit of encouragement...was probably all this dragon needed...someone to help it along. He felt deeply for the green's dilemma and would have wrapped his arms around her if he could have to hide her from the crowds; he'd rather been in a much smaller group of close friends and less people looking at him. He put his arms around his own stomach and tried to not let the sympathetic feelings get in the way of his standing on the sands...soon this would be over.

Kytara's breath caught in her throat. The Queen had spilled the most beautiful little green out onto the Sands, with very little dignity. She looked scared and confused. A lot like how the girl herself felt. She exhaled as she realized she was beginning to get light-headed. She worried for the small dragonet. What happened if it didn't Impress? Her uncle had once told her that they would go between to die in that case. She squeezed her eyes shut and muttered a soft prayer to any god that may be. Please don't let that be!

Davril watched the dragonets hatch, her nerves fading somewhat and replaced by doubt. Several dragons had hatched now and she still hadn't Impressed. While she knew that not every Candidate on the sands would Impress today she had been hopeful, having recently Impressed upon a flit had just strengthened her resolve to one day become a dragon rider.

The sixteen year old kept her eyes on the green dragonet that just hatched. it looked so scared! She wanted to reach out and comfort the poor thing but she didn't. Instead she waited, near the front of the group of girls, hoping that maybe she was the little green intended partner.

Everything was happening so fast now. Entertained as she was by the little blue, Merya almost missed the brown with his bold patterns - and then the dear little green, trying to hide. "Awww, the poor little mite," she said softly, more for L'thor than for Saren (who would probably just make some inane remark rather than saying anything useful). Thankfully the tailor was too busy watching the brown to notice. "It's probably frightening, having so many people staring at you."

"Squeep?"

Merya rolled her eyes. "Yes, I know you don't understand the concept of not liking attention." She scratched the firelizard fondly, earning several little "squee!"s of happiness.
