Voltaire paused and nodded then, there was a chilled feeling filling his heart with dread. For more than one reason now. He reached out a free arm to take Vanna. The man felt he could manage child juggling for the moment, "We'd love to have her," He replied sincerely.

Annjette squeaked and giggled with Vanna as after all giggles are contagious! Vanna was staying over and this made her forget the whole incident prior with her papa, or so it seemed.

Lorelei smiled and waved to Annjette. "I'll be going now, then, before I fall asleep on your steps!" She clambered down to the grass and rocks below. "Good night, you three - I'll stop by tomorrow, I promise!" And with that, Lor disappeared towards her wagon, moving through the darkness.

Vanna looked at Voltaire quizzicly - he seemed so much SMALLER now that she was bigger! Laughing, she hugged Voltaire 'round the neck, then tugged on one of his ears. They were so large, so pointy, and so TUGGABLE!

Everything was different now that she was bigger, and more like Lorelei. She could grab things and hug things and laugh just like Annjette...

Annjette!

The little girl's thoughts were racing at a mile a minute, and she turned her attention back to Annjette, reaching out for the girl again.

He squinted an eye closed as Vanna decided that his ears were tug worth. Voltaire took it good naturedly enough laughing a bit, "Careful, Vanna-dear. They are attached." He reminded the girl.

He held the girls for a moment before moving over toward the back of the wagon where he sat both of the girls where they could have a bit of room to play and tire themselves out again as both girls now seemed to be quite awake.

"I'll get you girls some toys." And with that he turned to busy himself with a compartment in another part of the wagon.

Now on the floor it was easier to interact with Vanna. Annjette crawled closer to the girl and playfully tackle-hugged her with a happy sounding squeal.

Vanna fell back, still not used to her lack of wings and new-found limbs. She yelped, giggling, and hugged Annjette back. Being bowled over was actually sort of fun! Deciding to retaliate, Vanna pushed Annjette back a little with her hug, initiating a sort of roll-and-hug, if she were lucky.

The fact that Annjette has flippers for feet and had been known to be slightly unbalanced because of it it was easy to turn it into a roll-hug. Which caused Annjette to squeal and giggle more so. This was fun!

Be it by luck or otherwise they didn't really have enough momentum to bum into something too hard to cause pain, but it did stop them. Voltaire turned toward the girls chuckling a bit dropping a couple of dolls and such in front of them, "Careful you two, here, play with these instead of tearing my wagon apart, hmn?" His tone was relaxed and playful now and he wasn't as pale anymore. Yet that dread remained making his chest feel as if it was filled with a heavy metal of some sort.

Dolls! They weren't quite as adorable as the one Lorelei had waiting back at home, she decided, but they were still cute and cuddly-looking, and she was sure that she and Annjette could come up with all sorts of fun little games.

That being decided, she attempted to get over to the dolls. It certainly wasn't as easy as flying! She crawled along agonizingly slow, unused to these big cumbersome limbs of hers. It would take some getting used to that, was for sure.

Annjette watched Vanna for a moment before shaking her head, "Nono, not like that. Here I help!" She plopped down to her hands and knees, "Watch Vanna!" Annjette proceeded to then demonstrate the proper mechanics of crawling and also offering various helpful, but wordless tips as well.

Giggling, Vanna watched and imitated the swan girl. Her crawling was still awkward, but it was getting better... albeit with a gait that seemed almost flipper-footed. That would be Annjette's fault - Vanna was mimicking her with the utmost accuracy.

Slowly, hand over hand and knee over knee, the girl got to the first of the dolls. Satisfied, she flopped onto her stomach, grabbing the doll and making it dance, clumsily. She laughed, humming and holding it out for Annjette to see.

Oh the woe of being flipperfooted, but it was all the girl knew. Annjette then caught up a doll of her own and smiled big at Vanna, "It nice to really play wi' yoo Vanna! We have fun!" Even if 'Jette could string sentences together they were almost always broken in someway and missing a word or two.

Voltaire was settled on a bench and tinkering with a small wooden object. He was able to keep a sharp eye on both of the girls.

((FORBIDDEN TREE. ... ahem.))

Vanna giggled, wishing she could say something back. When she tried, though, all that came out was a half-formed word mixed with a gurgle. So instead, she squirmed closer to Annjette, dancing her doll onto the other girls' arm.

((NOT IN FRONT OF THE GIRLS..You'll corrupt them. One of them even further than she already is. gonk ))

She didn't seem to mind that Vanna couldn't say anything back. Annjette was quite content with that. The swan-girl giggled as the dolly was danced onto her arm.

She was thinking hard of a game to play with Vanna, but neither of them really had the agility for a game of tag or anything of the sort. They could play a game, but what?

They could play a song involving music or even invent one for just the two of them.

"Wan' make up a game, usin' music?"

At the mention of music, Vanna smiled brightly and nodded, hugging her doll in preemptive joy. Music! She knew music, loved music, could perform music!

But how did one make a game out of music? Music was just... music!

Well, she was getting to that part. Maybe...

Annjette thought for a moment before continuing, "We make up song! Take turns, but since you can't talk yet I am not allowed to sing words either so it fair. If one of us can't make up a part of the song the person that last sang is the winner!" She thought for a moment or two, "Annd the parts of the song we make up has t'fit t'gether so we can sing it whenever we want!"

Vanna missed some of the things Annjette said, but she got most of it. Laughing and rocking back and forth a little in happiness, Vanna decided that she'd take the lead.

She'd show that flippered girl who the real Queen of Music around here was!

The first sung part of the song (no lyrics, of course) that came out of her mouth were proof enough that her gift was sound. When she was older, no doubt she'd train her voice to be even purer... but for now, it retained an innocent quality that gave it life.

Annjette listened with a head tilt smiling lightly. She couldn't help but feel somewhat envious toward her friend for having such a pure and lovely tone. Though she swallowed the envy and let it become a pit in her stomach.

When it came her turn the swan-girl cleared her throat as if it made all the difference in the world -- and perhaps it did.

Annjette then took a deep breath and sang (also without lyrics) the next part. Her voice in strict contrast to Vanna's was held a subtle sadness to it and an underlying darkness. Though somehow it managed to fit Vanna's part of the tune. Compliment it in a very strange way. Though it did hold purity it was only because of her age.
