Oh crap... he'd gotten so caught up in the whole sitting-with-Annabel thing, that he'd forgotten his other friends might be here too. Ears flattening bashfully, Simon gave Ratchet an apologetic look before rushing off to get his vote in. He wanted to enjoy his time with Annabel, yes... but not if it made other people uncomfortable to be around them!
He returned after a couple of minutes of having to deliberate over his vote - this sort of thing always made him feel like a terrible person - with more guilt etched into a face, but he managed to break into a smile and nod in agreement at Annabel's words.
"Heh... yeah, but I can't imagine it'll get much better from here on out, huh?"

The second Simon sat back down, Annabel was on him like a Hobo on a Ham Sandwich- nuzzling back into her crook once more. Even if she wasn't looking up at the LARPer- instead, her gaze was fixed on her mechanic friend, Annabel gave her a look of disbelief. Metallic mouth guard?
"You're shitting me," she said plainly, trying to contemplate how an alligator could even be equipped to one of those. But then again, this was Chris McLean they were talking about- nothing extraordinarily sadistic was impossible in that man's book. Pouting, slightly, she shook her head.
"Second thought? I totally don't think you are, man. I swear the man yelled something at me the second I went in- not that I heard it, though. Fighting for my life against an alligator and what-not." She waved a dismissive hand at this, as if trying to blow off how big of a deal being nearly-eaten was. Honestly? Cliff-diving, alligator-wrestling... this whole place could check off a sick individual's bucket list, if they were into extreme s**t like that. And this was only the fourth challenge! Something god-awful in the back of her mind was telling her it was just going to be even worse.
As if on cue, Simon seemed to be expressing her thoughts perfectly. Glancing up to her- ...what the hell was he, now? s**t, they'd have to work that out. ANYWAY, her friend/boyfriend/'It's Complicated' on Facebook, Annabel sneered a bit.
"Duh. Next thing you know, we'll be leaping hoops of fire on half-functioning Go Karts. ...If that one actually happens, y'all aren't allowed to blame me."

Ravyn sighed, he was getting tired of voting people off. He scribbled a name down on the paper and handed it to Chef, walking back to his seat and waiting for the results.

Helen sighed, she had really hoped there would be some miraculous victory on the part of the sharks, sadly no luck there. The good thing was that it wasn't as embarrasing because everyone was here this time. Chris's disappearance worried her, but at the same time, she really had no desire to see his smug face. She did think he raped, or did something else awful and unforgivable, to Annabel.
Casting her gaze about the crowd she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw her smiling and acting happy again, Helen had worried Annabel might do something drastic and fretted over it the past two days, having missing her performance at the challenge. She cast a small smile in her direction before settling down.

"Nope. Metal in the mouth. I tried to get it loose, but it was wedged up in there tight. And I'm willing to bet that Lucifer's gator was fireproof somehow. Chris knows us... he knows all of us too dang well. He knows exactly what to throw at us and how. He's like Jigsaw or something. Only I don't think we'll actually die on network television." Ratchet shuddered. She wasn't overly fond of horror movies, but sometimes this camp seemed like an extended version of one. "But... surely he's gonna run out of the physical stuff eventually. Y'know, I wouldn't be surprised if we get tossed into a survival-type situation next... like, hunting for our own food and getting locked out of the cabins and made to stay in the woods for some period of time." Ratchet grinned at the thought. "And in that case, I think the Beavers is the best team to be on. Serena can cook for us and I can keep us sheltered and you can take care of the bears."

For ******** sake. Axl cursed under his breath as he made his way to the firepit, plopping down on any stump. Next time there was a challenge like that, he was ******** waiting to go instead of being one of the first. He'd only gotten 5 stones, when some had gotten 20 or more. Grumbling, he looked around. At least everyone was there, no team had won the challenge. That made him feel a little bit better.
A little.
Sighing, he waited until Chef--Chef? That was weird--told them they could vote and after a few moments of deliberation, he wrote down a name and then brought it up to the large Audio. Instead of thrusting it at him like he usually did Chris, he set it gingerly down on the podium, and went back to his seat to wait for the results.

Lirina was a mix of impotent rage and disappointment, at herself and the entire situation. There was an odd lack her her usual passionate demeanor. She had waited too long, waited to gather too much intel before moving on and it had surely cost her image dearly. The dragon-printed audio could only hope that others who had ignored the rules would be closer to the chopping block in her team's mind.

Annabel clinging to Simon so quickly made him flush, but he decided not to say or do anything in protest- not that he wanted to, anyway. For the moment he just sat and listened to the conversation she was having with Ratchet, interjecting once on the mechanic's predictions to jokingly moan, "Come on, don't give them ideas..."
As she went on, though, he couldn't help but feel a teeny bit insecure... Ratchet could fix things, Serena would cook, Annabel was brave...
...so what the hell could he do?
Sigh...

Zoë sighed and drooped her head as she walked up and submitted her vote. She hated the fact that she'd failed so horribly in the Challenge, but at least was comforted with the fact that...well, nobody had succeeded, in the end.

Since Simon seemed to be content with silence, Annabel intently listened to Ratchet's ramblings, thankful her Gator hadn't come... specially equipped. Not that it'd need much, really, but still- it just would've sucked. The fact that he knew Ratchet well enough, as the girl had said, was a bit frightening. But still- there were cameras everywhere on the island- nothing they said or did, unless it was whispered or at the Wave Machine, went unnoticed.
And oh holy hell, Chris as Jigsaw. Annabel couldn't help a snort of laughter at that, quickly covering her mouth in an attempt not to seem too terribly obnoxious. Taking a minute to settle down and stop laughing, Annabel seemed to sober up quickly, looking to Ratchet with a dead serious face. Then, in the worst attempt at a parodying voice ever, she GRINNED.
"Would you like to play a Game, duuuuuuude?"
...And she was gone to laughter again. Thank god she had Simon and Ratchet on the island, otherwise she would've fallen apart ages ago. That, and nobody would've been around for her terrible, inaccurate impressions. But hey- at least she was trying!

Ratchet had to laugh. Despite how obvious Annabel's lampooning of Chris was, the sad truth was she nearly had him dead on. They must look so strange to the other campers, what with them not being all that sad at all. Sure, it would be sad later on, but really, Ratchet wasn't afraid for any of her friends. As long as there were non-participants in the challenge, the ones who went should be safe. "Alright, I'm game. What kind of game are we playing... duuuuuuuude?"

...and that sad thought was extinguished the moment the conversation turned to something more humorous - namely, humor at the absent host's expense. Straightening his posture a bit, he took a second to clear his throat and broke into a surprisingly accurate rendition of McLean's squeaky surfer voice:
"How about you guys try and navigate this field of bear traps on a pair of stilts? Better not trip dudes, ha ha!"

Em set to casting her vote, taking a little longer than usual. She handed her vote to Chef, which truthfully confused her a little, and turned scanning the crowd for a friendly face.
She smiled a little when she spotted Axl and walked over, taking a seat next to him.
"Voting a team-mate of is no fun, huh," she sighed a little.

When Em sat by him, Axl gave her a small smile, hoping she wouldn't see Lucifer and Noel. "No, its really not," he agreed as he gave a wave to Lirina.

Annabel was still cracking up when Ratchet took her round at an impression, and fell apart even more at the over-extended dude. Alright, so maybe they were ******** terrible at this, but it didn't make it any less hilarious- especially considering the fact that they seemed to have the host's little idiosyncrasies down pat. God, she loved her friends on this island. The second Simon cleared his throat, Annabel looked up to him, still snickering at Ratchet's attempt at being a boss LIKE A MCLEAN.
When he started speaking, and sounded frighteningly like Chris, she fell out of his lap- half in shock, half in laughter. Hand still attempting to muffle her laughter, Annabel was honestly crying of it at this point, ribs aching from the activity- she didn't laugh a lot, you know! Hell, even in this hellhole, she was laughing more than she typically did! Using Ratchet as a support to pull herself up, she was still in the throes of laughter, wiping her tears as she grinned at Simon.
"That's ******** scary and evil, Tiger. Did I tell you I love you yet? I think that warrants it," she snickered, once more settling herself in his lap. Leaning up against him, she spared a glance upward.
"Though you forgot the fact that the stilts are unevenly sized, and Chris is following us with a megaphone the entire time. DUH, DUDE," she added, dissolving into a fit of giggles once more.
