Arch the Angel The Empire's fleet warped in, scores of ships, large and small moving in to attack. Smaller ships flew at breakneck speeds towards the Kore fleet, dropping smaller bubble drones before turning away from the battle, the bubble drones activating, opening fire on the enemy. The remaining Kore fleets returned fire onto the Empire's ships, though the focus was still on Jishara and bringing any escaping vessels. The recruits on the planet given strict orders to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Eric held a postion outside and slightly above the fleet, the scenes of the battle shown in the egg-shaped cockpit of the Star's Light, illuminated on the floor and walls.

Gate paged Lee. "The Kore is launching an assault on the civilians on the surface. I am in position to fight back?

((********, I forgot the timing.))
"Do it now." Lee nodded, though the nod was wasted on an audio-link.
The bubble drones gave the larger flagships time to ready themselves. Large cannons opened fire, balls of energy launching at the enemy ships. Smaller fighters left the docking bays, swarming out and engaging the fleet.
"We need to save as many of the people escaping the planet as possible. Ground forces will begin moving as soon as they get a hole." Lee barked out orders to the men around him at the head of the front-ship. Shielded ships took off, blazing towards the ground in clusters, drop ships designed for quickly breaching the atmosphere unscarred and rapid deployment of ground troops, some carrying whole platoons, others various vehicles.

Eric continued to watch the engagement with interest, although, the feeling of restlessness began to settle in, watching all the action, but not able to be a part of it.
Gate closed the channel, and on the surface, the massive Hunter walkers turned, and began to open fire on Kore units, others cutting off the Kore advance on population and evacuation centers, while others still took the skies, catching any and all Kore resistance from their backs, tearing a gap in the forces above, allowing the Empire a hole to get through, waiting patiently to guide them in. The approaching human ships were transmitted locations that were extraction points, and designating landing zones for the rescue ships.

Gautrine watched as well, the battle moving unusually swift. She held a grim look on her face, crossing her legs and resting her free hand on her knee. "There's no organization to the Kore forces, none." She said with surprise.
Some of the ships responded by making drastic suicide attacks on the eascaping Jisharans and the invading earth fleet. Others started a process of surrender. It was clear that the Kore organization was finished...and had been finished for a long time, but had kept something of an illusion holding it together. With the majority of their leader system destroyed from the virus, and Haldis holding a purely self-preserving motivation without care to the organization at all, the Kore was being torn to small shreds.
Pen felt a small stirring of sadness, and was confused at her own feelings. She was watching the end goal she'd been striving for over a year to achieve unfold before her eyes. But she didn't feel the building joy she'd expected to feel. She'd devoted her whole life to the Kore, before she'd turned against them, and a part of her still remembered that loyalty even though it wasn't there, like a scar to a deep and painful wound.

With little combat resistance from the Kore, the Empire's ships tore through them. Jarred punctuated the show with a few choice curses as he saw a small group of fighters, bearing a striking resemblance to the Grushdeva rip into a larger ship.

Gautrine gave Jarred's hand a gentle squeeze at the sight of the grushdeva-like fighters. "Your company will invent new things, and change others." She gave him a smile, but then glanced away, the smile slipping away as she continued to watch the war.

Pen gave Eric a sharp glare, putting her finger to her lips to hush him. "He doesn't need to know that," She mouthed.

Eric returned the look, also throwing in a small glance of "What? It's true" "Y'know... They have fancy ships, and all kinds of military training. Maybe I'm spoiled on how good we are, but they can't fly for s**t. Want to join up and show them up, Jarred?"

"We can handle just about anything the Kore can throw at us, and if we can't fight it back, we can always run from it," Eric tapped a few displays on his touch pad, an overlay placed over the image of what was outside, identifying every ship within range of the Star's Light, designating earth, Private, Hunter, or Kore. The Kore ships flaged red, Hunters as yellow, Earth as green, "Magellan, power up weapons. Hey, Jarred, you want to take the guns?"

"Sounds fun enough." Jarred shrugged, setting his PDA down next to him, which remote jacked into the Star's Light, giving Jarred control of the guns.

"I don't mind you jacking in, but just keep Sara clear the hell out of my ship. Last thing I need is a second crazy woman telling me what to do with my ship."

"just be careful, both of you." Pen said. She folded her legs, resting a hand on her knee. "I'd rather we not draw too much attention to ourselves and risk the damage."
