Martin loaded the shelf at the door with all of the books he could find. It took about half an hour but the shelf wasn't moving anywhere once it was done.

He looked at his meager supplies and groaned. He was going to have to make a food run.

He found a notepad in the library's offices and, with a pen, began trying to map out the surrounding region roughly, wracking his brain to remember where convenience stores and such were.

Jack sat deep within the library, reading a medical book and trying to make the time pass.
His clothes were dirty and he had a good amount of pepper-colored stubble on his chin and cheeks.

He set the book aside and rubbed his eyes, moaning quietly.

There was ruckus in the library. "Oh, s**t!" he whispered to himself, thinking that a zombie somehow got into the library.
He had no real fighting skill, he was supposed to heal people, not hurt them.

Nonetheless, he stood as quietly as he could from the chair and grabbed a rather large book and sought out the source of the noise.

He, much to his relief, found what appeared to be a man, not a zombie. However, he kept his book raised, "Hello?" he said cautiously.

((If basic first aid is now included in advanced medicine, I need someone to take the skillpoint that I had on that and put it in unarmed combat.))

(("Dr. Effinsweet?" Are you ******** serious?))

Martin jumped back, hopping onto backward onto the table at the sound of Jack's voice.

"... When did you get in here?" he asked after an awkward silent moment. He stepped carefully down to the floor.

((There's usually a map of the city in a library archives...or does your guy not have common sense?))

Drusilla hated going about in the daytime, because it was easier to get caught. But she hated running about in the night, because the dark had been freaky before the outbreak!

Sighing in annoyance she swung her legs off the alter she was laying on. Hey, wasn't her fault the safest building around the school had been an old cathedral. And she certainly didn't believe god was going to mind if she used it as a temporary stronghold. The nuns hadn't minded, and they'd been rather kind and sweet to her, pushing their eldest off of the upper floors or jumping as time went on. 'To save her soul' they'd killed themselves...sweet, in a morbid sort of way.

((He doesn't need a map of the city. He needs a quick, small reference he can take with him regarding things near him that actually matter to him.))

((Yes, yes I am. It's an inside joke and he is to be referred to as "Jack" rather than Effinsweet so says Joe.))

Jack flinched as Martin jumped, ready to defend himself. He was glad he didn't have to.
"I've been here since the infection first showed up, it was the closest and safest place I could think of." he explained.

He warily held out a hand, "I'm Dr. Jack Effinsweet, sorry for the scare." he said with a smile, just glad to have found another living person.

"Martin Davidson." Martin, silent of his skepticism about the man's last name, shook the doctor's hand.

((I do believe any sane man would be skeptical about his last name stare ))

"What was all that noise about?" Jack asked, wanting to get to the point, "Did something get in?"

Martin shook his head. "I unstacked a shelf and slid it up against the main door, then restacked it. Nothing's gonna get in through there for a while. Unfortunately.... there's not much in the way of food here, so I'm trying to figure out nearby places to raid for supplies."

Alaric walked among the shelves of the small mom and pop sell all store. The place didn't have any guns but that didn't matter, Alaric didn't really like shooting people, even undead people. The place did however have an underground propane tank that he did not know how to cheek the level of, sold a collection of hunting and fishing supplies, knives of all kinds, plastic fish clubs, rods and reels (He considered these nearly useless.) big spools of rope, and tarps. There were also camping supplies, Alaric had a portable propane burner screwed to the top of a large tank the he used to cook the few food things that were here, ranging from frozen burritos to pop tarts to canned soup. There was plenty of fluids, mostly sugary juices, pops and energy drinks, but there was also bottled water. Alaric had been able to pick the lock of the service entrance to get in here, and he had hauled a shelve to cover the glass double door that was the front door and rigged a 2X4 stop for the back door. He spent his time checking his small amount of fortification, trying to remember the little Karate he had learned, and sorting through his slowly dwindling supply of food getting rid of anything that was rotting.
((Sorry for the super long post, I guess I got carried away.))

Dimitri sat huddled in the corner of the garage he worked at. a large crowbar sat beside him. Okay let's recap, 1) Theirs zombies and 2) as far as I know I'm the only one not infected and 3)...I'm royaly screwed Dimitri sighed as quiet as he could. He scratched his neck which was stubbling heavily. He was basically out of food, either he'd be eaten or he'd starve to death, it was only a matter of time. He wasn't afraid of zombies getting in. He'd mamaged to blockade the doors with peices of car parts before zombies had shown up, as well they wouldn't be able to get throught the garage's steel doors so he was pretty much safe.

"Smile.", Orpheus said silently, while taking a quick picture of a nearby zombie. Making sure he wasn't being followed by one of the undead, he quickly and quietly made his way to a secluded area, in his urban surroundings, stopping for a brief rest.
"Just great... I finally get a job doing what I love then this happens."
Unbenounced to Orpheus a zombie crawling without legs slowly made his way towards him. Just before it attempted to gnaw at his leg Orpheus had started to walk again. It took him a good five seconds to realize that he had something persuing him.
He had been in a state of shock before looking for a suitable weapon for his current situation. After taking a quick look around him Orpheus found a rather large piece of concrete, capable of being used as a throwing weapon. He quickly slammed the object nto the zombies head before taking off to hide in a distance building, hoping it wouldn't be filled with the infected.
After searching through the building throughly Orpheus had decided to make a barricade, that would hold up until he was able to come up with a plan to cross the streets safely. Making a quick recape of what had happened since he had learned of the outbreak, Orpheus decided to wait until it was a bit brighter outside to make a run for the nearest place he could think of as a safehouse.

Dimitri got up. His arms were starting to fall asleep on him, he needed to get the blood flowing. He walked around looking at all the tools that could be used as weapons should the need arise. He picked up a large wrench and felt the weight in his hands. it would hurt...but it probally wouldn't help him much. He needed a gun, if he could get home he could grab his small caliber rifle which would help alot but his house was quiet far from the garage on foot. It only seemed longer with all the zombies looking for a meal. Maybe he could make it to the range and grab some of the stuff they had there. No, don't get your hopes up, it's a million to one odds He thought. The million being the amount of zombies between him and his home or the range. He walked over and opened one of the lunch bags one of his friends had brought to work...or should he say what used to be his friends. One moment he was saying hi, the next the guy was trying to eat him. He grabbed a small bag of chips and started eating, it wasn't much but it was better then nothing.

After coming up with his plan Orpheus was trying to rest a bit. Unfortunately his plan was ruined by his baricade being hit with excessive force, multiple times. Knowing very well that he would be killed if he sat around for too much longer, Orpheus made a frantic dash for the nearest window. Upon getting to it his foot had hit an iron pipe.
He had made sure to grab it, right before jumping through the window and making a rapid dash down the bloody streets. A gun, I need a gun... he had said in his head over and over again. Then a realization struck him. Gas station clecks keep guns behind the counter. It was a risk, but he was willing to take it. There was a gas station a block or two away. Upon reaching it, Orpheus saw that outside of it was empty, and he was hoping that the inside would be the same. Walking through the empty store he climbed over the counter, making sure that he wouldn't slash his hands on the many shards of broken glass. As soon as his foot touched the ground he noticed something... off. There had been something making a snapping sound behind him. Turning around he swung the pipe he had clutched in his hand. He saw that the hit was effective, but not enough to make the zombie fall to the ground. After repeating the process, the zombie had fallen to the ground and had remained motionless. Thank God it was only one of them. he had said breathing heavily. He had looked around for a couple of minutes and found what he had been looking for, a small handgun. After a few more minutes of looking he found a box of bullets, nearly empty and switchblade that was at least "6 inches. Loading up the pistol and gripping the pipe tightly Orpheus walked outside. Still enough it was still empty, giving him a sense of ease as he continued down the streets.
