"Richard," Damian said as he directed him to the fitting area. "Anything you need, I will give. I am sure in the future you can find some way to repay me."
Though, Damian thought, Richard didn't know that they would be living on the same planet. Perhaps far from each other, perhaps not, but that was still their secret.
An attendant came over, to whom Damian requested a Louis Vertone cut for Richard, since he knew the label to be good for taller men.

Once in the bridal area, Lorey looked for Richard's mother. She wasn't sure where she would be, but immediately started searching through the dresses anyhow.
"I know exactly what I want," Lorey said, more to herself as she searched through dress upon dress. "Something elegant and refined, but still beautiful enough to be eye-catching..."

"Oh- N-no...I um..." He glanced at a few near by suits as a gentleman started sizing him up. "I know I can find something in my price range easily, I'm just worried about forgetting soemthing important last minute, and not being able to pay for it for Lorey.." He furrowed his brow, looking through the various selection. "Like...Wedding bands! We still need to pick those out and the cake! Oh dear gosh the cake, and-" He stopped himself. He felt as if he were the worrisome bride instead of Lorey. "God... I just want to make this perfect for her..."

"Oh- Lorey! Lorelee Dear!" A older woman's voice called out. Raquel cocked an eyebrowm turning to see an older woman, dressed sharply in a two piece suit, with pencil skirt, ray hair pinned up tightly and elegantly. "Lorelee darling, I've spoken to the young ladies here and had them set apart lovely dresses in your size hm?" She gesturedd grandly to a large rack or two of goregeous dresses. "To make your search easier! I used to be in dress retail as a young girl, so i could guess your size almsiot imediately!" She chirped and went on and on as she came upto hug her. "My my you look so beautiful! And you've got a little sun on those cheeks! A little prewedding glow hm??" She smiled and buzzed about as if she were 40 years younger.

Raquel just looked confused and rather awkward, smiling to Lorey and just shrugging.

"Richard, we can do all of that today. Lorey is not picky, she is not overly particular. I see the way she simply gazes at her engagement ring as if it the most precious possession, which, it is."
Damian nodded and gave out some more suit names in complete disregard of what Richard had thought was in his price range. He was going to look striking, dammit, and Damian would have it no other way. Events, when he was involved, were done right.
"The cake, you can figure out in Druis when you can find a baker. You have all the time in the world, remember. No one says you have to get married tomorrow."

"Ah, thank you so much..." She, too, felt awkward with the attention. Lorey gestured to Raquel while she still had his mother's attention. "This is one of my bridesmaids. The only one, actually, if I don't get another. Once I get my dress picked out, we'll have to find one for her, too."

Lorey buzzed over to the racks and sorted through what they had in her size. Since she was average height, and rather thin, there were a few things to choose from. But one immediately stuck out to her. It was a dazzling white with royal blue accents, just like Damian said she should get. The dress, she found, was perfect.

"I have to try this on..." she whispered as her fingers went over the smooth fabric.

Richard rubbed the bridge of his nose, nodding. "You're right... I just need...to relax...thats all..." He furrowed his brow, as a few people brought up a variety of suits, the ones Damian had requested. "I think I'm going to need a drink before this is all over..." He laughed, holding up various hangers in the mirror, quickly going through the selection of Damian's, picking out the top five he liked.
Richard had picked out a tux once or twice in his life. He wasn't an expert but he knew what his father taught him.

Raquel looked over her shoulder, her eyes widening. "Oh Lorey...It's...beautiful!" She exclaimed. "You MUST go try it on right this instant!" She urged with a light push towards the dressing room.

"You and I both. But I must ask, what after you two get married? Will you still be leaving for days on end or will you find a job there?" Damian was still rather worried that Lorey would be left alone. He saw how she was just during the weeks he was away. She would become a recluse in the library and spend her days looking rather sad. She was a creature who needed those she loved around her, after having spent so much time alone.

Lorey, though, was surrounded by people then who thought she should try on the dress, and so she did. She went into the fitting room and slipped everything of, and slipped into the dress easily enough. Once she came out and stood on the small dais, surrounded by mirrors that sent her reflection everywhere and infinitely, it all hit her.

She was getting married. And this was her dress.

Lorey spun around, stopped, stared. It was perfect. And, it was all her own should she choose.
The smooth, rich fabric against her skin felt like heaven. The colors were so deep, or so clean. It was something she never imagined she could own, and yet there she was,in the finest department store on the planet, buying her gown.

"This is it," she said to whoever was listening. The realization pricked her eyes with tears as Lorey said it louder. "This is the one I want."

Richard chose one of the selections and went to try it, on letting Damian's words sink in. "I've thought about that... For awhile I have to keep my current job, because I owe a small debt now, and took too much time off to get the house ready. Bu one that's paid, I'm going to find somehting local, if not start my own business..." HE explained, slipping on the various layers before reappearing.
"What do you think?" He asked, straightening out the vest as he spun around. It was a simple black tuxedo that looked rather sharp on his figure, with an elegant, deep blue, silk tie. "I could maybe get a blue flower...or one that matches her bouquet, and wear it on the lapel..." He came up to the mirror, turning to inspect himself.

Raquel and Abegail were dumbfounded at the beauty of the dress. Abegail started tearing up as Raquel just bit her lip. "I-it's.... It's simply perfect Lorey.... Its....Y-you..." She stuttered, looking her up and down with a faint smile.

Damian looked him over and nodded.
"Yes, it fits you very well. Very good. How much is it?" The attendant picked up the tag and read off the dangerously high three digit number.

"Seven hundred credits, sir."
Damian merely raised his brow and nodded.
"Richard, for a good suit, you are Lorey's cheap date. I'll pick up what you may not have. Then we can find the women and get wedding bands."

Lorey let one tear slip by after everything was done bombarding her. The wedding, her vows, what she was doing at all with this man. It was all, for a moment, too much.
"Gosh, I'm getting married... I have a dress and a house and I'm getting married there. And I have Richard. Wonderful man..."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 04, 2009 8:25 am

Richard pulled out his wallet. He had only cash on him, as well as a card with a bit of credits saved back for their wedding bands. "I...I think I have just enough if not only a few credits short." He nodded, counting. "If We become farmers, I'll pay you back everything you've done for us through vegetable." He laughed jokingly, admiring the suit in the mirror when something hit him.
"..I'm getting married..." He whispered more to himself. "You'd think...It wouldn't hit me so hard... since I"ve been married before but-..." He furrowed his brow. "I'm getting married..." His voice cracked only a little as he just stared into the mirror, this tension growing in his heart and throat.

"I know that its strange to you of all people, Damian Centurion- Veratia's most eligible bachelor... But-" He just shook his head. "Its... just this surreal feeling... knowing you've found the person you want to spend forever with..." He added, not aware of Damian and Raquel's little secret.

Raquel looked at Lorey, teary eyed, and almost couldn't take it. She stood up on the little platform where she was, and hugged her. "And you deserve it all...Every last bit hm?" She sniffed, just admiring her friend's beauty in the mirror.

Abigael stood back, nodding silently to herself. "Good job Richard...Good job..." She said softly to herself.

"We do need to start eating better. I'll accept your cucumbers and whatever offerings you manage to grow."
Damian slapped him on the back in a friendly manner before giving the final nod on the suit. Richard's appearance was taken care of. Now it was everything else.

Lorey nodded, and went back to change after a few more minutes of moving and being in the dress. It was about the same price as Richard's suit, but only because Damian had pulled so many strings behind the scenes. He wanted Lorey to have anything she wanted, but also wanted her to feel like she had bought it herself with her hard work at the floral shop. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her, though, and she'd never know.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 04, 2009 9:24 am

Richard nodded, taking the suit back off, redressing himself, and coming out to meet Damian. "We should probably meet up with the girls. They're probably done unless my mother got her to try on half the store by now..." He sighed with a laugh as he headed up to pay for his tux.

Raquel found herself going through the various dresses, though mostly with her eyes only, silently wondering how on earth she'd be able to choose a dress that would work for her. Lorey had Richard's dear mother here. Raquel had Damian yes, but she didn't want him to see the dress before they were wed. She sighed and figured she'd just figure it out on her own eventually.

Though Abigael noticed her longing eye at the dresses and smiled. "Don't worry dear... Soon enough you'll be wearing one of these gowns. A pretty girl like you, I bet you've got a million men courting you." She tried to offer the little compliment as Raquel blushed and merely shrugged.

"I was just about to look at the bridesmaid gowns and-" she was cut off when Abigael shoved a hanger towards her.
"I'm guessing htis is close to your size, it's the correct shade, and an appropriate cut. It should be perfect..." She said matter of factly, holding up the blue dress for Raquel.
Raquel smiled and held the dress out. It was indeed perfect, and complimented Lorey's dress very well. "It's lovely! THank you." She smiled, glad someone was able to help her find a classy look. Raquel was ok putting together casual outfits or even...more 'intimate attire', but that was it. Which reminded her...

"Lorey? ....Have you picked out any lingerie?" She asked casually, admiring the dress Richard's mother had picked out, now not noticing the red in her face.

Lorey's hands faltered on her purse. She hadn't even thought about that.
"I... I-- no, I haven't." With his mother right there, she began blushing furiously. And, she couldn't help but think that Richard wouldn't mind since they'd almost done the deed spur of the moment before Enty walked in.
"I wouldn't know anything about it..."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 04, 2009 9:35 am

Raquel smiled widely. "That's why you've got me!" She chirped happily, hooking her arm into Lorey's. "After you pay for your dress, we'll head over to intimates hm? Mrs. Mentaro? Would you care to join us or-" Abigael spoke quickly.
"I'll um- I'll check in with the men. I'll make sure they're picking out something appropriate and keep them company while you two...erm...finish shopping..." She blushed as she headed back towards the men's suits. "Have fun..." Though the look on her face was enough to make Raquel laugh.

Abegael left the two in a hurry, finding Richardan d DAmian rather quickly, paying for his suit. "Mother... Did you find the girl's alright?" Richard asked, cocking an eyebrow. She seemed flustered but amused, nodding with a smile, Though cocked a head to Damian. "Oh, excuse me...This is who's giving Lorey away at the wedding, Dam-"

"Damian Centurion. A pleasure." She nodded her head in a regal manner, extending her hand daintily. "I may be old Richard, and We may have started out in middle class, but I've worked my way up, and I know who this young man is." She nodded. "My condolences to you Mr. Centurion. I was grieved to hear about your father...Are you well?" She asked with a slight c**k of her head. "I've heard the strangest reports of you."

Lorey was dragged along into the intimates, where she suddenly felt a mix of being very grown up and being incredibly naive. There were things that were practically just strings and little bits of fabric. Lorey wanted something at least elegant like her dress, but was so flustered that she didn't dare touch anything.

"What would you say..." she said quietly as they went over to a rack that held wedding apparel. "If I told you that, in the end, Richard was the one who wanted to wait?" She started laughing awkwardly to herself and avoiding Raquel's eyes. Little Lorey wasn't as innocent as people thought her to be in some ways.

Back with the men, Damian Centurion gave Richard's mother a deep bow, and a kiss upon her hand. This was the man who had emerged from the Ball Room.
"Thank you. It was very sudden and I am still recovering from the shock. As for the reports, well... I have actually, save for my father, never been happier. The young woman with Lorey is Raquel, and she is my... girlfriend, though it is an odd phrase for me to say, as we seem meant for each other."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 04, 2009 9:56 am

Raquel was going through racks, keeping in mind Lorey wasn't the kinky type, though stopped immediately when she spoke. "Really?" She turned to look at the blushing bride-to be. A small devilish smile crossed her lips but she tried to hide it for Lorey's sake. "Well, that's very gentlemanly of him. I sometimes wish There were more men like that in the world...you know?" She smiled back at her. She wasn't dissing Damian, she was just making Lorey feel better about it. "You are very lucky dear, there aren't many like that left." She frowned a little. If there were, maybe she wouldn't have had the past she did. She pulled out some tasteful yet sexy sets of lingerie that ranged from a pure white lace, to darker, deep blue ones. She stuck with Lace for lorey since she was still very innocent and 'wholesome' in her own way.

"AH yes her...she is a ...colorful character isn't she." She smiled with a slight shake of her head. "Very sweet girl...though I couldn't help but notice a bit...brash? No insult intended dear sir. As we speak though, she has Lorey looking at various undergarments..." At that Richard's face lit up like a Christmas tree and he turned to make himself busy with a random clothing rack.
"Though I will give her the benefit of the doubt. All those reports of her being...being a streetwalker!" She chuckled light heartedly. "What tabloids will come up with to foil an innocent romance for a man of high society. It's disgusting really... I do wish you two the best of luck." She smiled pleasantly. "Though, I can't help but ask, will this affect your finances and appearances at the ballroom. I must admit I haven't been there since your father's passing, but I hear its gone to pot, excuse my language, since they turned it over to new management."

Lorey took the blue ones, since she knew richard liked the color.
"It's more... because he didn't do that for Rose." She sounded a tad hurt when she said it, but better she get the truth out than keep it inside. "He's trying to make up for so many things with his second chance. And I don't blame him. I'm thankful, really, I just... I just have to wonder how much he's changed, for me. And if I'm getting the new Richard."
As they went on, Lorey wasn't so embarrassed anymore about what they were buying. She was actually looking forward to it.

Damian had to bite his tongue. If Raquel wanted this woman to know about it, then she could say it herself.
"Well, I do like them brash, Miss."
His eyes caught Richard turning away. His own thoughts were somewhere along the lines of, lucky b*****d.
"Anyhow, my finances are still set. Lessened since I have been oddly cheated out of what was once mine, but a simpler life is better in my case. No doubt you heard of an incident at the Ball Room regarding a young woman? I will not be seen their anymore, and not by any fault of my own, mind you. It may, as you said, go to pot."
