She couldn't even imagine still being able to see her parents but knowing that they wanted nothing to do with her. Hers had loved her quite well while they were alive and she still missed them even if she had accepted Kieran and Fianna as her surrogates. Her mother and father wouldn't want her to go through love upset over not having them and never find anybody else. "You've never really been the type to dwell, Nyc. But still." Nuzzling his neck lightly in some expression of comfort. "I'm sorry."

"Which is why I didn't see a need to tell her. She might be a little miffed you two are married and didn't let her know that, though." But he chuckled at her statement and then shook his head. "I thought you'd made it years ago and were merely saving it. Sure, you can have Caprice for as long as you need her. She'd be delighted to help you."

"As long as I'm invited." She was quite pleased to see him in such a state of euphoria and gave a nod. "I still miss your father terribly but I've begun to realize that mourning him forever won't bring him back and he wouldn't want that anyway. It would break his heart to see me as I've been the last few weeks and I simply can't do that to him." Reaching up to pat her son's cheek. "He doesn't want to see me yet either."

Nuzzling her hair back in same gesture he gave a smile. "Don't be. Like you said, she's the one missing out. Besides, she's well off now and lives life as easy as she wants. I don't really hold anything against her...fate worked out in my favor. And I'm lucky it did too or I may not even have met you and where would we be then?"

"Yes yes, everyone is upset. We'll do something to make it up to everyone as they find out. But you keep your mouth shut Lateef...we don't want it being majority knowledge but with those we're closest to. We'd like to enjoy our little secret without the whole of the plane bothering us." Shaking her head lightly, "No, you silly man. Such things can not be made and set aside...they must be made fresh and not be the collectors of dust and unrequited love and dreams."

"Of coure you're invited. Someone has to quell the boyish jitters that will arise no matter how long I've known the woman. Such things get intense when public is involved. Nodding lightly as she had found herself a positive outlook...and tried to give him a peace of mind as well. "He never did like to see you cry. He'd do anything in his power to prevent it." Nodding lightly, "When the time is right then, yes?"

He seemed okay about it and she was willing to accept that even if she didn't understand it. It was hard to reconcile your own upbringing with another's whose was vastly different. "If my parents hadn't died and Daddy Kieran hadn't been wandering around, I never would have become the princess." Giving a chuckle and wrapping her arms around his neck with a longer, much more intimate kiss. "Definitely not having sex very often."

"Yes my Queen." Which she technically was now that she was married to the Moon Elf King. They all knew that things were already getting tense because of Lharika and Glynnic's relationship. Certain elves were wondering just what that union was going to bring forth. He was of the mind of Kieran on that point. Females. "It's hardly unrequited. You were the one who refused to marry him for years on end." Had to point that out.

"And loved her." She was quite pleased with the way events had fleshed themselves out. Quite pleased, indeed. "Yes, although...he never took your fights as seriously as you did, either, Kieran. He was very proud of you. He used to recount the whole entire argument and talk about how you'd gone toe to toe with him and nearly won so many times." Shaking her head. "I don't blame you and neither would he."

He couldn't help but chuckle at her final observation. "That is true I suppose. Well, I guess if we had things to go back and do all over again...I for one wouldn't change a thing. Life has a way of working itself out even when it looks like there's no solution."

She shook her head to that one, hitting him lightly in the arm. "Now don't you start with me." Shrugging delicately, "Yes yes. I made him wait...but good things comes to those who wait. I think I"m at least worth enough to be called a good thing."

He gave a surprised blink at the knowledge that she gave in her own ways of wisdom. It was true...Kieran toon those fights they had very seriously and just assumed his father went off to brood until they found something else to argue about another day. "He could have told me that...made me feel like he was never happy with anything I did, no matter how right I felt about my point."

"Now you sound like my father and sounding like him is not going to get you anything while we're in this particular room, Glynnic." Giving him a slight grin as part of her personality came shining through. "And it's such a nice room to waste for such a silly reason, don't you think?"

"That's not for me to deny, my Lady. I always see you as worthy but if I were to compliment you beyond that my own Caprice would cut all the bells off her clothing right in front of me. Such is torture I could not possibly bear. Have pity on a man and go distract her, please."

"Words weren't his strong suit, Kierry. At least praising ones. He knew how to yell and argue as well as anyone. But he showed his love in a different way and that's the same way he told you he was proud of you. He always touched you...slapped you on the back, lightly tapped your nose when you were little, something. I only heard I love you about three times in my whole marriage. But he showed me in a different way every day."

Galesen blinked once as he heard the retaliation from Nillrik and Isle. Well he understood that the boy was trying his hardest to concentrate but there will be times when he would have to use his magic with distractions around him. Still Galesen gave a small nod to Isle as he walked over and then looked at Nillrik. "Sorry about that Nillrik, I never learned how to control the wind like you are but I still know how hard it is to actually control magic. Next time I'll be quiet if you are practicing." Though he looked to Isle and gave another smile before turning to the boy. "Take your time, no one is rushing you here." And that's all he had to say about that.

"You're still talking Galesen! Don't talk to me!" Nillrik was fussy about his learning and frankly he never liked it being interuppted and in this case he thought there was no excuse to be interrupting the basics. Magic was hard enough on it's own.

It was rather amusing that Nillrik was so focused, yet trying to ward off Galesen and getting distracted all at the same time from all of that. "He's still practicing Gale." Raising a hand to her lips in a motion of silence so the boy could indeed concentrate for a few moments.

"No, but it's still a nice thing to say that does make sense and makes me sound all important and wise and stuff." Chukling before nuzzling her and kissing her back, smoothing his hands down her arms once more. It was nice to see her acting a bit more like herself. "I guess that would be silly."

"And what a loss all those bells would be. I'll spare you, just this once." Pressing a kiss to his cheek before making her way from him with a light laugh as she disappeared around the corner of the hallway.

He nodded lightly as his mother expanded on the idea. It was true, his father was a man of few words, but Kieran still didn't like the fighting and could have done without him. It just made him feel better to know that when they indeed had been arguing that last time, his father hadn't started it just to irritate him for some reason. "Look back and count the blessings then, I think that is the answer to things here. I still feel horrible...but that's for me to deal with."

Galesen was going to say something but stopped when Isle asked him to do so in that manner of hers. So he gave a small nod to Isle and smiled a little before turning back to the boy and crossing his arms a little so he could watch. Still, Galesen wanted to bug Nillrik a little more, the kid needed to know that there would be times like this later on in life where he would have to use his magic. But he understood that the boy was just starting to learn so he just watched, Rainsongs had a different way of using magic anyway.

"Hmm, wise move, Nyc. Imply that my father is wise and important, too." Now she was just messing with him because it was fun to do so. She shifted so she was straddling his lap, gazing down at him with her hands on his shoulders and gave him a grin. "Kings aren't supposed to be silly. How shall we remedy that?"

"Count your blessings but also remember that not a single elf is perfect, Kierry. Your father made many mistakes, both with you and with the kingdom, but he was just an elf. Likewise, you've made your own mistakes, with Fianna, Piper, and even Lharika. But you learn and you begin to change and adapt. Mostly I want to know that you don't feel like it was your fault."

It took him another fifteen minutes before he had the wind rattle the latch open, and then push the window open. To which he gave his own victory call and latched to his mother in a hug.

She wrapped her arms around him as he clung to her happily, ruffling his hair some. "You see, and it will come easier every time you practice. No worries, you're a Rainsong and it'll come naturally." Turning her eyes up to Galesen, "Now, was there something you wanted?"

"I've learned to speak in double terms to get things across, it's a handy skill." Grinning at her and watching her as she indeed was coming around more. In fact...rather fast. Maybe something positive had happened? Blinking up at her lightly he gave a grin, "Silly...I suppose so. I guess I'll just have to put on my serious look now." Thus doning that indeed serious look, messing with her back.

She was asking a lot of him...after all, when death happened so suddenly everyone wanted to be able to point blame because it never seemed that such deaths should occur as they do. He was still stuck in that thinking and it was hard to think outside of it. Frankly, he apparently never knew how well off his father was to begin with because Ahkallyn hid things well. "If we weren't arguing....how long do you think he had left?"

Galesen pat the boy on the head before he ruffled the dyed hair and gave a smile. "Good job there Nillrik." A look to Isle though and he gave a small shrug. "Oh, no reason really. I just came on by and I was told that you guys were here in the sunroom so I decided to see what was going on and such." Though he pulled out a letter he found at his house when he stopped there earlier and smiled a little. "But I am in trouble with Malik for not telling what happened, he seems upset." A small shake of his head to that before he turned to Nillrik. "So, I heard you're playing the drums. How's that coming along?"

She was feeling much better though she didn't hold out hope that it was going to last all that long. Truthfully, this had happened a few times before. She'd randomly get the feeling that all was well and then shortly thereafter be on her knees sobbing once more. It was all very confusing, even to her. But that serious look just made her begin to giggle even as he was being inappropriate with his hands. "I don't think that quite cut it, Glynnic."

It was a hard question to answer, mostly because she knew the truth and none of the others actually did. Ahkallyn had forbidden her to say a single word about his worsening condition and so she'd kept the secret to herself. "I would have said less than a month. He was shortly going to pull all of you aside one by one and explain that his time was short. It only preempted that talk, Kieran."

Nillrik kept tight hold to his mother as he watched Galesen. Sometimes he thougth that elf had even less direction going through life than he did. Disrepectful as that sounded, but he never said it out loud anyway. "It's just fine." Shprt worded, before nuzzling his face into his mother and receiving pets for it.

Apparently he was affectionate today and that was just fine with Isle personally. But yes petting at her son she watched Galesen. Oh Galesen, ever predictible. "Well I would think he would indeed be."

"Not convinced hm? But that's all I got in the ways of looking serious unless I dress up all fancy and go sit in my big important throne." Shrugging as if he was helpless otherwise to meet her demands of him. "What is a man to do if he can't even look serious without help from fancy objects?"

He supposed that made him feel a bit better...well, not about the fact that his father was dead but more along the lines of he hadn't singularly killed his father with an argument. "I suppose I can lay some blame away from myself." Not a lot, but if it made his mother feel better, he would say it.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 19, 2009 7:01 pm

She laughed, reaching up to trace a finger along the tattoo on his cheek. "You don't need your big, fancy throne at all. You just need to not have a twinkle in your eye when you look at me. But I don't think you can do that either so I'll humor you." Slipping off the bed, she executed a curtsy despite the fact she was in her pajamas. "How might I serve his majesty?"

Elaria sighed. "No, you won't but I'll continue working on you until you do." Quieting for a moment, she went back to the watering of the flowers. "Just promise me you will enjoy this time with your bride, Kieran, and not be so worried about everything else going on. This is a happy day."

Galesen blinked as he looked at Nillrik, was that all he had to say? really? Well that was new, the boy usually would tell him plenty of things for quite awhile just from a question. Though he turned to Isle and grinned a bit. "Well yeah, but he should of thought of the fact that Kieran didn't want to be bothered? Bah, I'll write a letter later on tonight to explain to him why." A small sigh as he placed the letter in a pocket before looking back at Isle. "Do you know if Kieran is back yet? I wanted to talk to him about something that has been bugging me lately."
