He let out a tiny sigh of relief when she eased he thoughts of children, even though the thought still scared him. He straightened up and faced him. He nodded and listened to her like a good student. "Sounds interesting and useful. Yes, I'll learn that for today." He swam up close to her. "Will you show me?"

Bathory has gone back to that common tank where she and Minkishi first met, looking to find her love. "Minkishi? Please don't be gone.." She moves through the kelp towards the lava rock wall, every few moments calling out his name again.

"Mother!" Minkishi's voice called, trying to keep his voice low. He chased after the glowing figure in the kelp. "We shouldn't have returned here. Let's leave before they find out that we've returned."
Ouija didn't listen to her son. She bobbed through the kelp, following a voice that was calling for him. VooDoo had returned part of her sight and freed her from her nannying contract. Minkishi is a moment of opportunity, took his mother and fled from the dark waters. However, the spell was fading away and her sight was fleeing her again. She was determined to see the beta she called master once again before his gift left her and perhaps beg for forgiveness. However, in her hurry to return, she had heard a far away voice calling for Minkishi and changed course to investigate.
With her fading eye sight, she nearly tumbled into Bathory after escaping the kelp.
Minkishi a few yards behind her, finally caught up but froze at the sight. "Bathory..." He said softly, looking away in shame.
Ouija smiled kindly, hearing her son say the beta's name. "Ah, so you are the one." She placed her hands on the Bathory's face and looked closely at her. Details were blurry, but she was able to make out her main features. "She's quite beautiful, son."
"Mother... please..." He glanced around and then back at the female betas with a worried look. He did not want the VooDoo family discovering them, though that was exactly what his mother wanted.

Bathory hears the faint sounds of Minkishi's voice calling for his mother, trying desperately to part the thick strands of kelp to reach him... and instead runs into Ouija. Those solid blue orbs widen in the moment, flittering from her to her son, then finally glancing down. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... I have, I have good news."
She glances between the pair, finally settling on Ouija and smiling softly, reaching out and embracing her gently, "I know why you wish to return, Ouija. I understand your haste in why.." she reaches up one hand to touch ever so lightly at the corner of one of Ouija's eyes, releasing her to approach Minkishi slowly.
"You were leaving? Without me? I... I brought news that I thought.. you don't have to hide or fear anymore, Minkishi." Her eyes shift back to Ouija, "I am helping research a way to lengthen the spell... it may never be permanent, but it will last longer and if we are lucky the residuals may help to strengthen your eyes over all..."

Minkishi flinched as Bathory approached him. He looked at her with pain. "VooDoo released her from her contract. He said she could do as she pleased." He reached a hand out to her but hesitated and pulled away. "I panicked. I didn't want him to change his mind."
Ouija stared at them. "Minkishi...VooDoo is a kind. He has done so much for our family."
Minkishi bit his lip and looked away. "You deserve better than to be his slave."
Ouija placed a hand on Bathory's arm. "It's very kind of you to do this research on my behalf. But you have inherited my son's worry. I am sure Sir VooDoo will let me return to his service and renew the spell."

Bathory glances away, trying to hide her own hurt, drawing in a deep breath before looking back, "I.. understand. But, you do not have to worry. Your family no longer serves his, unless by choice. You cannot be forced into it again. Not your mother, not you, none of you."
She reaches out, taking his hand, twining their fingers together, then looking to Ouija, "I believe you. I confronted my uncle. He has accepted me as I am, has let me help in his research." The words are for them both, her eyes drifting back towards Minkishi, "He knows about us. And accepts it. He... -I-, wish that you would bring your family back. Not as servants, but as equals and allies. Join us for the solstice, please. No tricks, no servitude, no lies. The rest of the family will have to accept us when they see that Uncle Voodoo accepts us. Regardless of anything else, he is head of the family, none in it will oppose his will."
She tries to draw Minkishi forward to rest at her side, smiling towards Ouija, "I am not worried, I have every confidence that your sight will be returned, the spell can be renewed. You will see again."

Ouija looked eagerly at the two and nodded her head. "That's a wonderful thing to hear." She reached her arms out and hugged both of them. "I believe you two have many things to discuss. I will let you be. Minkishi, I am going to return to VooDoo's home."
"Mother, please." Minkishi beg, but Ouija had already vanished in the kelp. He sighed heavily and looked at Bathory with a frown. He stiffened but wrapped his arms around her and laid his head on her shoulder. "Please forgive me." He whispered. "Perhaps VooDoo is accepting, but I cannot forget the pain his children had put her through when she was their nanny... I just want the best for her."

Bathory opens her mouth to protest Ouija's leaving, holding out a hand only to let it fall back to curl around Minkishi. She hugs him tightly and gives a small nod, one hand lifting to stroke through his long hair, "I understand, Minkishi, I do. I know why you would want to flee with her. I don't want to see your mother hurt either, I swear. But this is what we both wanted, being given freely. Your family is no longer indentured to mine, your mother is free to do as she wishes. Voodoo will see to it that she is well-treated, and if he is not there, I will be. I am a direct descendent of Succubus and Incubus, there are few that will match me in power. And you will be there too. Its over, love. We can be together openly, free of ridicule or threat of torture or worse. Your mother is safe from abuse."

"It just seems too good to be true." Minkishi held her close and finally looked up into her eyes. "But if you believe this is the best way to go, I'll follow you." He placed a hand on her cheek before looking away. "My mother is too loyal to that man to stray away. She knows nothing but serving him, and that's all she wants to do. It just makes me sad."

Bathory tilts her face into his hand, savoring the simple touch before reaching up to cover his hand with hers, "Thank you. I promise, you will not regret it." She glances off in the direction Ouija went and nods, "It will take time. She needs to acclimate to no longer being a servant, but it will come. She will realize that she can do things for herself, not simply to please him. It will happen. And we can help." She looks back to him with a soft smile, "We can take her with us on strolls around the tanks.. and in time, we can give her grandchildren to dote upon. This is just the beginning, Minkishi. And in the meantime, I will do everything I can to help you train and elevate your powers, so you will never feel powerless again."

Minkishi looked down at her and nodded, blushing slightly. "I truly feel lucky to have you in my life, Bathory. Thank you so much." He leaned in close, touching their noses together before kissing her. "And I have been practicing in my absence. I've been improving those protection spells you had taught me."

Bathory returns the kiss, gently, sweetly, doing a bit of blushing herself when it ends. "I love you, Minkishi, with all my heart. There is nothing I wouldn't do for you." She smiles up at him, "You were the brightest student I'd ever had, your potential is amazing, I have no doubt you will outshine me soon."

Minkishi placed his hands on her shoulders and shook his head. "I have no intentions of surpassing you. I just want to be able to protect that things I love... " He offered her a small smile. "You mentioned a solstice earlier... what is it?"

Bathory reaches up to cup his cheek in her hand with a smile, "You should be everything you can be, Minkishi. I'm not one to go in for ego trips, if you end up more powerful its not going to hurt my feelings, its just who you are. That said.. you will be able to. Very easily." She gives a nod and glances off, "The summer solstice is June 21, its a time of great and powerful magic, of power itself. And its when we're trying to get the family to gather. You, Ouija, you're part of the family."

Minkishi shivered at the thought of the whole Voodoo linage brought together in one place. "I see... And what kind of activities go on at these gatherings?" His mind ran wild with the idea of magical beta causing chaos and tormenting his poor mother.
