"I know it's going to be hard, But I bet I can work my way in. I want to travel, and I love the idea of getting paid to make friends and settle affaires." He chuckled. "I might end up working for the CIA if I'm lucky, and that could be quite exiting." He laid back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. "Have you read the whole bible?" he asked. It was not unheard of for someone to have read it, but The idea of reading that much scripture was just boring to James, He had always liked learning things by lecture, or from MP3 files.

"Um..." Israel made a sweatdrop expression as he stood by James' kitchen, throwing his can away. "Well, not in its entirety... I mostly am learning how to um, how you say, decipher the stories into meanings."

James nodded, "What's your favorite story?" he asked, he had only heard a few, Noah and the arch, and, Adam and Eve, mostly. "Will you tell it to me?" He flipped around and rolled over, so that he laid on his stomach facing the boy. He leaned his chin in his hands and stared wide eyed at him. “We have time, Please?” He liked to hear other people talk mostly, and he liked to learn so much about others.

"Um... well..." His green eyes began to shift back and forth, but when he saw James' interest in him grow he gave in, mostly to his charming smile.

"Well, my favorate story is Daniel y la Cuevo de los Leons, Daniel and the Lion's Den. Daniel was an honest man who served his king very loyally. The king was so pleased with him that he said Daniel would soon rule a large part of the kingdom. The other servants became jealous and made a plan so that Daniel would look unloyal to the king. They went to the king and told him to make a law where no one could pray to any god accept for the king. The king agreed, but Daniel was faithful to god and so he prayed anyway. The servants quickly told on him, and so the king was forced to through Daniel into the lion's den. Daniel trusted god so much that he had no fear and he prayed for his safety. While Daniel slept, the angry and hungry lion's snarled around him, but god saw that he was a faithful man and so he sent an angel to protect him from the lions. In the morning the king went to see if Daniel was alive and he was. The king was so astounded that he made a law that everyone in the kingdom was to pray to Daniel's god and through the servants into the lions den where they were eaten."

James listened carefully, and cringed when he heard the ending. "What is that story suppose to teach me?" He asked, the only think he could think of is how bad he felt for the servants. "They only wanted to have a better life, and then they get punished by being eaten alive. The rich man had a god to protect him, and they did not have anyone, except the king who they thought they could rely on to keep his word." He bit his thumb unthinkingly. "I want my own god, that would be pretty cool." He blinked completely unaware of what 'one true god' meant.

Israel laughed softly and shook his head.

"No, no, you must have misunderstood. The story is about being faithful and loyal, like David. The law that the king passed was a symbol of those in life who want to force you to thier ways, because they say so. David is a symbol of faith and loyalty to who you are and what you believe. In the end, David survived because he followed his own path."

James nodded, that explanation made since too. "Than why did they have to kill the servants, and why did the king order everyone to be more like David? Wouldn’t they just be conforming like they did when they stopped worshiping David's god to start?" This whole idea was very confusing, and his mother would never have approved of him learning it at home. "Is David's god more protective of him because she is a woman?" He asked. it was the next thought that popped into his head. "if she is a god of fertility than that explains the whole 'i'm not dead' thing."

Israel gave a sigh and looked down at his feet. He was still wearing his sleek Italian shoes.

"Maybe it is best if we change the subject... is there not a lecture soon?"

"Really?... This is interesting." He was a little disappointed, but did not want to make the boy feel uncomfortable so he dropped it. "The lecture is in...fifteen minutes, and mine's right down the hall, I have European history." he let his hands drop to graze against the floor as he stretched out on the bed, his feet hanging off the other end, he was taller than many, but not tall enough to be scary or out of place. Mostly just tall enough to seem strong and almost protective.

Israel raised an eyebrow, watching his movements carefully.

"European history? What country to you plan to be ambassador of?"

"I want to be an ambassador for Canada, in one of the western European countries, France, Germany, The UK, Poland, Finland, Denmark, and now that I'm learning Spanish I can add Spain to the list." He spoke many languages, but Spanish was just something he never got around to, it was to common for his tastes. He rolled over so that his head hung off the bed and he was looking at everything upside down. “Switzerland could be fun” He added and smirked.

Israel made a face as he leaned against a wall.

"Why? It is so cold there." He had always perferred to be warm and never did enjoy cold areas.

“…I’m from Canada, I’m ok with cold, it’s hot that gets me.” He grinned. “The cold is just an excuse to snuggle with your sweetheart. No one wants to snuggle when it’s hot out.” He laughed and sat up on the bed, folding his legs in front of him. “Not that I would know.” James had never had a girl friend, he had never been in one place long enough to find one he liked.

Israel raised an eyebrown at James' last statement, curious for some reason he was not sure of.

"Oh really? And why is that?" He spoke softly, his accent making his words run together, but he thought he was clear enough so that James could hear him. He didn't like to repeat himself much.

James blushed slightly and grinned. "I've never had a girl friend, so I am not a very reliable source on when a girl would want to snuggle, all I am sure of is that when it's hot outside, I don't want to be any were near anyone." He laughed and put his arms on the bed behind him to lean back slightly. "Have you had a girl?" He asked, not sure what the protocol for traditional teenage relation ships in Spain were.
