Kit nodded her head once and winked understanding completely. She placed the check on her table and moved towards a back room, only to stop in the door way and glance at him over her shoulder. “I’ll be there as soon as possible Captain.” She chuckled at the title and kept walking. This room held her tools, there where a lot of them and now was when she had to choose what was really necessary.

The young woman’s hands fluttered about as she placed wrenches and drivers into a carpet bag. It took her a good half hour to pack But once she was ready she made her way out of her home and locked the door behind her. The hangers where located three blocks away, she liked living close.

Kit found the air ship with no trouble at all, but the Man who had hired her was no where to be found. She boarded quietly and made her way to the engine room, she knew the layout of this ship like the back of her hand, and it was a popular model. Her father had mended one a few years back and she had loved medaling with it’s components.

The woman dropped her bag and set to work right away, striping of her over shirt and skirts so she wore only her breaches and slip. She didn’t want to get grease on her good clothes after all. She ran her hands over the pistons and wiped a few completely clean so that she could get a better look. The seals would need to be reengineered if the ship was to fly for any long distances.

Inside a quaint shop front backed upon a large warehouse there was a young man flicking through his calendar, pictures on the calendar were mostly schematics for various famous steam machines, he flicked through it casually until he realised he had alot of spare time he could go on holiday!

The thought of it excited him but where should he go? He hadn't been to albion in a long time and wished to visit there and see if they had any wonderous new parts to tinker with, albion never ceased to suprise him in that subject, he began to pack and then realised how would he get there? The commercial airships did not come back for a week or so... BUT he wanted to go NOW! He looked out of his window and saw Gustav's one at a docking bay. It was decided, he would hitch a ride off him. He finished packing his things into his sack, placed his goggles on his eyes and opened his door.

"Look after the shop while I'm gone" he called back at the steam and got a loud wheeeeesh in response.

He walked down the steam filled streets for a while amusing the thoughts of a holiday away from the shop he found himself eventually outside of the entrance of Gustav's vehicle.

"Ahoy! Anyone in!?"

Poking his head out from the little storeroom on the pad, Gustav saw Tomkuron and waved. "Won't be one moment!" he shouted.

Popping back in to finish filling in a charter form for the Royal Steam Travel Board, he put it in an envelope and stamped a wax seal on it. Declaring where you were going and what you were carrying every charter was a frightfully boring business, but it had to be done, lest the men from the board visit. And that was not something you wanted happening frequently. Why, only the other day, an acquaintance of his had some people from the Board visit flanked by policemen, on the grounds that he was under suspicion for smuggling. When he protested, they simply asked why he hadn't filled in the forms. It turns out he had, but his vacuum pipe was blocked by a rotting apple wedged in.

'Whoever could have done that', he wondered, a sly look on his face.

Chuckling to himself. he tucked the envelope into a capsule with rubber ridges, screwed the cap on and went outside, heading towards the Spire, where a mass of tubes snaked up, down and across the outside of the building. Used to send messages and letters by the power of vacuum, they travelled down to the post office situated in the lobby of the AirSpire. It was a wonderfully simple method, and it could be used in reverse, if they ever needed to send something to a particular airpad.

After sending the capsule down, Gustav turned around and made his way to the steamplane. He was quite proud of being one of the first people to fly one commercially, and it had done wonders for business. Nodding his head to Tomkuron, he grinned.

"What can I-", he cut off suddenly, hearing a clanking noise. Intrigued, he went into the aircraft, and saw Kit hard at work already, tools scattered about her. He was glad to she that she found the box of seals. Grinning, he went outside the plane again.

"Hi Tomkuron. What can I do for you today, I wonder?"

((Hmm, the text is a little hard to read on that krahken. if you want to keep the smoky effect, try doing the same with a darker colour behind the white, and slightly bigger than the white. Should give a subtle 'border' of sorts, and should make it a lot easier to read.))

"YOU are going to fly me to albion my friend in exchange for any parts you need and that beer you owe me, remember!"
Showing his sack as a sign to his expected answer Tomkuron looked about the place constantly hoping this would work because it might depress him slightly for today.
He walked over to the storeroom being careful of things strewn across the pad and placed his sack down and shook Gustav's hand.
"I really hope you won't decline my offer I've felt need of a holiday and albion sounds like a great place to be for me... So I was hoping i could hitch a ride off you?" He said, looking sheepishly away he rubbed the back of his neck in embaressment and looked up with his eyes before he started to hear something.
"Whats with the loud clanking noise?" he said turning his head like a nalerted meerkat.

Kit had been working for about a half hour but already her was a mess, her light hair had streaks of dark grease in it, her skin was spotted with filth as well, and her hands where blackened. She took apart the pistons and replaced each and every seal. This ship seemed to have never been cared for properly and things where rusted and dirtier than they should have been.

The young woman blocked out everything except her work, she didn’t notice when the Captain came to check on her or when conversation started to drift into the room from far away. She only heard the squeaks and scraps of the malfunctioning engine.

"The noise? Oh, I've hired a mechanic to do all the jobs that are too complicated for me. She's just in there replacing the seals I think."

Gustav fixed a beady eye on Tomkuron. "Albion you say? Let me think. I have two charters to fly already, one to Llano del Rio in Tristeza, thats tomorrow if this work is done by then, and then two days after that, I'll be taking cargo to Riechburg in Karstaat. And no doubt bringing home all the welcoming gifts and cuisine that my family will shower on me. But after that.. hang on."

Stepping up into the plane and into the cockpit, Gustav took several seconds to find what he was looking for. "Aha!", he called, voice slightly muffled from being inside the plane. Opening a cockpit window and leaning out, half waving a clipboard with a schedule attached, he read back his schedule to Tomkuron. "Yes.. There's a 4 day gap between when I get back from Karstaat, and a return journey to Tristeza, so I guess I can make a trip to Albion then? It'll need to be made worth my while however, as I wont be getting paid for any cargo or anything. Not unless I can get in touch with some contacts over there."

((Rust? Really? I'm shocked. For a ship that's brand-new out of the factory, and the first one of it's kind, are you sure about that dragonhealer? razz ))

{Yup! It's filthy!}

After the pistons where back together Kit let her attention wander and she turned when she heard voices, she climbed out of the engine room and out towards the loading dock where she saw two men on the hanger. A smirk over came her face and she put her hands on her hips.

“Captain?” She said, making her presence known. “I’ve just about finished changing the seals, Is there anything more that you believe needs doing?” She looked over the new man and bowed slightly to him, she was a tad embarrassed to be seen by a strange man in this state, but mostly she didn’t care.

Not having found what she was searching for, Erin pulled her thoughts back into her own head. No matter, she thought, I'll just have to go for a more direct route. Her ST&T contacts had told her that a new and slightly experimental airship that would be leaveing soon and would be heading to Karstaat. They knew this because they liked to keep tabs on all such experimental designs. Whether to improve them or buy them was up to the buisness office, but Erin didn't really care either way. It was the inventor side of her that was intrigued. She desided to head straight to the landing pad since her efforts to find a room had been unsuccessful.

Erin had expected The airpad to be deserted, since she was a day early. So she was surprised when two people were standing on the air pad, one of them exceptionally dirty, and someone else, presumably the captain, hanging out of a cockpit window. The Plane did not fail to disappoint at all however. It was magnificent. The stale schematics and her imagination had failed to convey the true beauty of the craft. Gleaming in the setting sun, it was easy to imagine it as a shining angel, resting on earth, looking forward to the next time it took flight.

Peeling her eyes off the aircraft she looked at the people standing around and approached the man in the cockpit. "Hi, my name is Erin Fen. I'm looking for passge to Riechburg in Karstaat, and I was informed that you could get me there." Despite her efforts to stay focused on the man her gaze moved back along the craft, admiring the workmanship and beauty.

Gustav glanced to his right as Kit jumped out of the plane and onto the pad, calling up to him. 'God, she's filthy!', he thought. 'I had no idea that it was that dirty back there.' He also couldn't help but take in the way she was dressed. Why, it was almost enough to make a man nervous, and upon thinking that, he felt a little colour come to his cheeks.

"Y-Yo-You've done the seals? Excellent. I don't think there's anything else, unless you see something out of place. You seem to know the way around the plane awfully well, that I have to say." Gustav pondered, looking at Kit and the plane. "I wonder... Did you have any relatives working at the HimmelHersteller workshops, and they were involved in the design of the Falke? I'd be surprised, seeing as the company is based out in Karstaat, but still."

Turning back into the cockpit, he stopped, his eye caught by a woman walking towards the plane. Looking back out of the window again, he noticed she seeming to be admiring the plane. Karstaat. She wanted to go to Karstaat?

"Erm, yeah, I have a charter to Tristeza first thing tomorrow. Come back in two days time, Ms. Fen, and you can get onto the cargo charter that I'll be taking to Riechburg." Flashing the woman a grin, he waved a finger between Kit and Erin. "I do hope you're not going to be both on the plane at the same time. That'll be twice the bad luck!" Taking in the suddenly cold stares of the two women, he looked sheepish. "Old sailors superstition.", he explained, before hastily adding, "Not that I believe it, of course!"

Kit rolled her eyes at his bringing up of old false tales. She ran a hand though her hair, making it stick up at odd angles. “No, But My father fixed a prototype when it flew though town last year.” She commented. “They are pretty much the same, well engine wise at least, but this one’s a lot prettier.” She chuckled and approached the man.

“I’ve a deal for you.” The young woman glanced around. Then back at him. “I like your ship, it’s an easy fix. It runs clean, and It’s flashy. And so. For only twenty pounds…. A great deal, I will stay on board as your in house mechanic.” The girl grinned and glanced back at the ship. She was attached already.

"Ah, I had heard about that through the workshop, when I visited early this year. They said it was quite impressive, the speed of which the man, your father, worked." Gustav grinned. "I believe there was even talk about expanding the company out of Karstaat and offering him a contract for opening up a franchise workshop here in Sanctis for their ships. Whether anything happened regarding that, I do not know."

Upon hearing Kit's offer, a frown appeared on Gustav's face. "I thought we'd already agreed on £10 per month, when I first offered you the job? Surely that's better than just £20", Gustav said, confused as to why Kit would want only one payment.

An irritated expression passed over Erins face as the captain made such a comment, but she let it slide. "So you're coming back here before heading to Riechburg?" Her mind ran over possibilities of going to Tristeza as well, and she decided it was worth it. "Very well, how much would it cost to charter passage for both trips?" She wanted to spend as much time as she could around this wonderful ship, even if the trip did go a little out of her way, she was in no hurry.

A look of surprise passed over Gustav's face.

"Both trips?", he said a little incredulously. "Well, if you're wanting to sightsee in Tristeza, time will be short, as I'd be flying back here the next day. If you're wanting to stay longer, say a week, I'll be back in Tristeza, and you can return then, if you so wish", he explained. "But if you want to go with what you originally suggested, to go to Tristeza, come back the next day, then head out to Karstaat the day after will probably cost twenty pounds in all."

"Is the trip to Riechburg important?", he asked, motioning to the metal case that Erin held.
