Attimasc laughed humorlessly, "Don't try to delude yourself that you're anything like human. You can't care about anything, you're only here because you are bored, and we are entertainment this blip of eternity." He took another drink and stared out over the dark city, morose now, instead of angry, "Couldn't blame me if you knew, for hating vampires, I mean," he said, voice now sad.

Kaminari took in a fast breath, making it sound like she was hissing. "Ooh, that hurt," she said, taking another sip of her drink. "I care, I don't care about human things, of course, but I care." She said, taking another sip, "I care about Hell, and how I can support it. I care about myself, and my children, the ones who you so painfully insulted!" She hissed, suddenly a forked tonuge slipping from between her lips, but she flicked back in, like it was habit. But it was a simple time illusion, she wasn't like those patheic snake demons. And it wasn't meant for fear, she didn't care about that, it was just for effect. "And vampires, my dear naive Puddle, are better then you take granted for. I just didn't like his name, nor his accent, what fake one or little one he had." She said, smiling now. "Vampires are actually better then most would assume, yet they convice themselves to be such...monsters. Satan was smart, creating such creatures." She said, leaning against the pool table. "Any more comments?"

Caroline frowned but said nothing. Vladimir stared at the floor. 'Why did my parents have to give me what turned out to be the most stereotypical Russian name on the planet? And why did I ever leave Europe???'
Shadow gritted her teeth, smacked a ball into a pocket, then whipped the stick around to slam down on the bar. The loud bang silenced everyone. Shadow could hear the pause in conversation downstairs. "Will you people please shut up? This is starting to get on my last nerve, and I don't even have nerves!" Shadow's eyes were glowing red and her teeth and fingernails had grown. "If you're going to bicker then do so outside the bar! Caroline doesn't need this! Jesabell doesn't need this! I DON'T NEED THIS!!!" Shadow was silent for a moment, then calmed herself. She ignored the mean whispers coming from the shadows. "Look, I understand that things aren't great. Trust me, so many different kinds of beings aren't meant to be together in one tiny place. But this is a haven. It's all some of us have. I'd leave but I actually like it here."
Caroline inhaled deeply. "This is the first town that I came to where I found a single person that accepted me. That believed in me."
"Every place I went shunned me and wanted to kill me," Vladimir said. "I fled my own country for the same reason. It is not my fault that I am what I am. I must deal with this, though. I have been alive for much too long. But I have never thought about suicide. I have thought myself a monster, but only at first, right after I was bitten. Once I got used to what I now was, I decided to accept it. If I could go back and change my past I would. But I can't. And you know what?" Vladimir paused and glanced around the room, trying to not make it obvious that he was just looking at Shadow. "I don't even think that anymore. I've met people...well, not all of them are people, but I've met beings who have come to care for me and I have come to care for them. If that man hadn't turned me those centuries ago, I would have never met them. Sometimes...sometimes the trade is worth it. You've just gotta wait a while." That said, Vladimir paid Caroline for his drinks, stood, and walked out the door.
Shadow frowned and hit another ball. It missed. She sat back and decided to listen to them for a bit...
So many voices to listen to...I wonder if I'll be able to keep up with both arguments?

She glared at Tanis. "That's a question, not a comment." She snapped, turning and looking at the pool table, listening to everyone's story and such. She smiled at each one, trying to figure out the lies, if there were any. She doubted that there would be; but would knew? She postioned the que, and knocked the white ball ever so slightly into the next, causing it to drop into the hole. She repostioned the que and took another swing, harder, and got in two. Then she placed her que down again, but this time she paying attention to Vlad's story that she hit it, but just too soft, causing the striped ball to come up short. She stood, and grabbed her drink, and taking sip, grunting slightly.
"But I'll answer your question with another," she murmured, her gaze flickering to the dragon, "ever get a sense in your body? I do. Right in the back of my neck; then there's a stench I can barely withstand. Dragon scales give off a very slightly odor, you know that? The older the dragon gets, the stronger it gets; also if said dragon is part dragon, or not." She hissed, turning to face him. "Do you have an idea why?"

"No," tanis replied, "but i get the same thing from demons. Your skin gives off a very pungent odor."

Kaminari smirked, taking a glance at Shadow and the others before looking back. "You do not know the history of your kind? How interesting. I will not speak of it until you know." She said, finishing off her drink, and leaning against the wall as she placed the empty cup on a table. She looked at Tanis and smiled fakely, thinking, 'This could be very helpful.' she thought. She now knew Tanis was not the reaper. That left the Water Boy, Attimasc, and the Shifter, Dylan.

Shadow flicked a finger against the wall, and the little shadow shrieked and scurried away, along with its siblings. 'Little pests...they worship me and at first it was cute but now it's just annoying.' "Worship you? Really, Shadow, I think it is me that they worship." Shadow froze when she heard his voice. No one else could hear it...only her. Everyone else melted away. His words filled her mind for an eternity that happened in only a second. "Shadow darling I'm the one that's always here with them. You're always running around with the people of that solid world of yours. Always dreaming about living there forever. But my dear you just can't. You belong here with us. Why don't you come home? Oh, it breaks my heart when I see you about to fade back into the shadows then you take another one of those dreadful pills. And you are torn away from my arms. All I want to feel is your tender soul. All I want to see is the hate in your eyes as you look at me. Oh, Shadow, why can't you see? We belong together...and you can't keep running forever." "Watch me, Shade. Just watch me," Shadow whispered, snapping back into reality as the voice faded away. Shadow knocked a ball into a pocket, then another, then missed on the third. She went back to lean against the wall, but this time there were no shadows on the wall. It was lit extremely well, as if all darkness had been chased away. Except for Shadow, that is. Now was the only time you could really see the contrast of the light against her skin. She, though pale, was a dark figure that the light rejected completely.

Shadow glanced at herself and frowned. She thought for a moment then changed her appearance. ((heh heh when I came up with the picture I used for Shadow in the begining I wasn't spending any time on it at all and I don't think that it does her justice. This picture is a bit better. I edited it so it's the right colors and everything. Plus her outfit has changed a bit. I think she's grown tired of that black gown. And you can't see the rest of the outfit but I'm going to say it is a short dress; she's wearing sheer tights like the sleeves of the shirt; on her feet are dark black shoes with no form in particular since they melt into the ground, though she can make them look like shoes when she needs to, like when walking around and trying to appear human. Anywho I just wanted to post this picture since I've decided that this is the picture I'll be using from now on to represent her. right-o!))

Kaminari glared at Tanis, her smile fading to a dead scowl. She turned towards the pool table, shooting in one, but missing the other on purpose. Might as well let the Shadow Girl win--it'll be good to finally get some friends here, friends she wouldn't be able to trust. She smirked, walking over to the bar just as Shadow changed form. She got another Rum with Dragon bone and sipped it quietly, waiting for her turn to come agian. She narrowed her eyes onto the Vampire, but didn't say anything.

Attimasc smiled "If I said you looked good like that, Shadow, it would be an understatement," he sat at an empty table and put his head on his arms, wondering if Tanis and Shadow had forgtten about earlier.

Shadow took a deep breath and pushed her emotions back. "Thank you very much for the compliments they are much appreciated," she said in a monotone. Turning to the table, she easily knocked her last three balls into the same pocket. "There," she said, pointing with her que. She easily knocked the eight ball into the pocket. The pool que became one with her body. "Caroline, I'll take a quick vodka with the usual. Then I'm going to go find Vlad. He shouldn't be out this late when he's upset." "Yes, that would be for the best," Caroline said, mixing the drink for Shadow. "I've been trying to get him to sleep at the bar, but he simply refuses." "I bet if I invited him to live with me he wouldn't hesitate." Caroline laughed. "I agree. That boy's head over heels for you. I only wish I could see his face when he saw your new body. Which I like, by the way." "Thank you Caroline your opinion is important. I'll re-enact his face for you some other time," Shadow said, grinning. She took her drink, paid Caroline, downed it, and wiped her mouth. "Tell Vlady I said hi," Caroline said as Shadow walked to the door. "Will do." Shadow turned to her new 'friends'. "If you need a place to stay then Jesabell and Caroline have extra rooms. If you've got a place to stay then good for you and I suggest you get back there soon. If you don't like the idea of staying in a bar then I've got a place down on Plum Street. Thirteen Plum, if any of you want to visit or have a drink or something." Shadow opened the door and started down the stairs, then stopped and came back up for a moment. "Oh, and by the way, always make sure you're not being followed. Constantly check. Because I really don't feel like losing my house to Reapers any time soon."

Kaminari finished off her drink and dropped the needed money to the witch, before following Shadow silently, but she didn't hope that Shadow didn't know. She knew Shadow would. She stepped up to Shadow's side. "I'm following you. I wish to know about this Vlad," she said smiling, "Besides, I should be getting home soon anyways. Such things to do." She said, not speaking what things she needed to do. She stood firm with her words; if Shadow would to refuse, there would be something times changes. She smiled, this one true, and started walking down the stairs, her skirt flowing behind her.
