“What!?” she squeaked then lowered her voice leaning closer to him. “Yes I like him, but not in the way you’re thinking.” She grinned, “I’m like what 8 years younger than him?” Truth be told she wasn’t really sure what their age difference was, she smiled inwardly about it. “As for tackling you, you SO deserved it!” She laughed, fixing her clothes and brushing herself off. “Being able to fly, but can’t take someone cool like me up with you.” Crosses her arms and gives him a grin and a wink. Her voice had been filled with sarcasm as she spoke

Leo gave out one loud laugh of banter. "Ha! Like I would even if I could! There are many other people I would take up with me before you!" He said, trying to press her buttons. "For example, Lucid!..." Leo was hoping that that last word would make her squeal. He grinned widely and a smug look crossed his face.

Meredith quickly makes his way through the halls with his hands shoved in his pockets. He speaks in a low voice, but only when there is no one else in his vicinity. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say there was no one alive in his vicinity. "Yes, I know that it is a good idea. That hardly means that I must like it. No, no; you really do not need to remind me of why it is a good idea. I think you have done enough persuading already. Yes, I know. And you are a good friend. But if you were not already dead, I'd start kicking you right now. Because you won't be quiet! I'm already going; don't expect me not to be nervous." He felt a little guilty yelling at his friend, the spirit of a kindly psychiatrist who was trying his best from beyond the grave to keep Meredith from becoming unhinged. Still, the man did tend to be a bit pushy when Meredith showed any hesitation toward his suggestions.
Finally Meredith stepped into an elevator and addressed the computerized system. "Meredith Ludd; fourth floor, please." Mr. Smith was always polite to the computer and Meredith had taken up the habit as well. He never asked why, but had developed his own reasoning. The recorded voice was intended to make the passenger comfortable, but that had never sat well with Meredith. He found it just slightly easier if he treated the voice as he would a person. And so, he was polite. The elevator completed its trip and the boy hesitated to exit, then stepped out quickly at the last moment.
The Show Room was vast and impressive, but Meredith was not here for the grand tour. Taking a deep breath and squaring his shoulders, he strode toward an object with which he was very familiar. A ceremonial athame, very old and still bloodstained from its long life of use. Nothing in this room can truly harm you. You know that. The spirit reminded Meredith, intending to comfort him. "That does not make it any less terrifying. No more pep talk; let us proceed."
Meredith removed his hands from his pockets. He was wearing white gloves to protect him from accidental visions. That was what this little exercise was all about. He wanted to practice controlling when a vision would come to him. Higher classed Syndicate members were attempting to teach him, of course, but Meredith hoped to speed up the process by experimenting on his own.
Meredith ungloved one hand and reached out to the athame. His fingertips touched the surface and, for long moments, nothing happened. Relieved and about to withdraw his hand, Meredith was struck with a vivid image of a violent ritual. He wants to scream, but he has at least learned enough control to swallow that reaction. He pulls away from the object and waits, heart pounding far too fast in his fear. The vision would pass, they always did; he just had to wait. No matter how terrifying that wait was.

Kiami crosses her arms looking away from Leo. “Yeah, well you can’t take him anyways. So there!” She looked at him again and stuck out her tongue. “Unless there’s something you want to tell me about you and Lucid…” She returned his smug look with a sly grin of her own. Her fingers tapped along her arm as she stared at Leo. She was bored and looking for some fun.

Staggering out into the sounding lights looming about the street, Amarantha allowed her barren feet to trample upon broken glass. It was undetermined if the blood was from these new wounds, or the gaping holes that laid waste to the perfection of her pale skin. She had not always been this sickly in appearence, her flesh had once been a beautiful olive color, however, the past few months have... changed her, to say the least. Amarantha held her hands close to her chest, the blood seeping into her white peasent skirt as she made her way deeper into the city. The street lights cause her to squint, it had been a long time since in a city like this, perhaps she was not ready to be here, that feeling to run away, far away eating at the back of her mind, but she knew she could not. There was something else in that darkness of her own thoughts, something not her own...
"They aren't here..." The voice called again. Not just one voice, but the voices of many, children, men, woman, even demonic sounds, all speaking in complete unison. It was the voice of her... it. Whatever it was, it did not sound pleased. "That b*****d lied to us..."
"Then we can leave. Please let me leave..." She pleaded into her own mind, still cradling her wounds as if they were a crying child. "Please let me leave..." She begged, stopping once in the crowded area where no one seemed to notice her.. yet...
One man, his expression of sheer horror, rounded the bleeding girl, his hand reaching for her shoulder, his eyes focused on her as if it is was own daughter. "Are you okay? Oh my GOD! What happened! Come on, let's get you to a hospital!" His voice rose up above the crowd where a few others had taken notice, but could not bring themselves to surround nor approach her.
"Kill them.... kill them all......." The voice called. And finally, that feeling of darkness seeping into her heart and mind, clouding all thought and feeling of her own accord.
"I am sorry..." And Consensio had taken over. No more was there Amarantha's child like innocence, but the cruel demonic being which took pleasure in the screams of others, dementia her aphrodesiac, and insanity her favorite play thing. Of course, killing everyone was as easy as... well, as easy as it was to control her little puppet on strings, mayhap a bit unneccesary, but how much fun would that have been.
"Miss?" The man asked, as Amarantha's hands reached for his head.
"No. Sorry." That strange voice began. "Not any more..." And with that, Consensio, using Amarantha's body, jerked his head swiftly till the sound of bone cracking echoed loudly in the town square; his limp body falling to the ground.
It was then that the screams began, and Consensio could not help but laugh. "Your time is up..."
There was no savior in this city, not a single damn one...
"May God have mercy on your souls!" Consensio screamed as she laid waste to the unsuspecting crowd. She had been betrayed, but no matter, the man who said she would be able to find the syndicate had been long away from life for some time now. Now, to take out his treason on the lives of these pathetic mortals. And that is just what she did....

Zenn smiled slightly as he looked toward Taro. "Just incase you wanted to know, these wings of mine are real. I just have figured out a way to hide them using my powers. Otherwise they'd just be out all the time, it's easier to travel that way." Chuckling a little bit, his eyes looked downward. "You should know better than that Taro, I'm not gonna give you anymore information. That's something you'll have to find out for yourself. Now, if you'll excuse me, there seems to be somewhere that I'm needed. There must have been some mistake with what she was doing." ((So switch all I said about Gyel and just replace it with Skittles character.))
The flames on his sword died down and eventually stopped. Slowly he placed the tip to his sheath and slid his sword all the way inside. His hand glowed black as a portal seemed to take form behind him. It grew in size until it was large enough for him to fit though. "Don't try to follow me, it won't turn out so well. Cya later Taro, I enjoyed our little fight." With a slight smirk he stepped backward into the portal. In the blink of an eye the portal and Zenn were both gone.
A few moments passed and about ten feet away from Consensio the same portal took shape. Zenn stepped out before the portal disappeared. His breathing was clearly much heavier then it was before he used teleportation. Clearly he had been in a fight and the stab wound in his chest still seemed to bleed. The other wound that was still bleeding was the one on his hand. The blood slowly dripped to the ground and he smirked weakly. "I see that things here didn't go the way you had planned. For me, it was harder than I thought to keep myself alive, but I did and now that the Syndicate knows who they're dealing with, we'll be able to destroy the Syndicate."

Lucid had snuck out of the fountain square if everyone there hadn't noticed. While he was gone he went to see what was taking Amico so long. Shortly after he had received the mission from Amico, he got reassigned to another mission. There also seemed to be a change to the mission Lucid and the others were going on. Slowly he walked back into the fountain square. The mission folder open in his hand as he was looking over the mission somemore. Shutting the folder in his hand he smiled. "Well boys and girls, seems like there were some changes to our mission." He said with a slight chuckle.
"Shortly after I recieved the mission, Amico was assigned to a different one. So, he won't be joining us on our mission until he's finished with that. Our mission is still gonna go on with the people we currently have. Instead of leaving tomorrow though, we're supposed to go now. So, Draqy and I are the teachers here, so that means we're in charge. Though, I'm pretty sure that was already known. Anyways, we'll meet back here in twenty minutes, that gives us enough time to pack for what may be a long mission." ((So, hopefully that works for everyone, seemed like the easiest way for us to continue. ^^))

Upon his arrival, Consensio had personally drug a few of her kills by the heels of their feet and piled them lifelessly atop one another. It was a beautiful masterpiece, and though happy with her work, there was a false sense of accomplishment eating at the back of her mind, or better yet, Amarantha's who, without asking, took control over her body once more. The girl whom Consensio occupied climbed down from the tiny mound of bodies and attempted to push Zenn, perhaps strike him, before her hand could even reach his face, Consensio took hold once more and gained control.
"Little brat..." The voices rose up over the sound of silence the once lively city had been consumed up in, that same wicked glint that was Consensio shining in Amarantha's eyes. Her smile reflected her utter disgust, but her relief of Zenn's sudden appearence was plain as day. "I trust that all is not lost...however with the damages you have... incurred." Consensio made her way back to her work and sat atop the bodies as if they were constructed into a throne in her honor. Her legs crossed cocking her head slightly in the utter amusement of his wounds. "They are stronger than anticipated..." Consensio casted her gaze to a dimly lit building, pondering what would needed to be done in the future to ensure their success.
"Tell me what it is that thee must do." Amarantha's eyes welled with tears, something uncontrollable by Consensio, that pathetic girl was always crying, a sheer sign of weakness. But she had to hand it to the girl, with as many mental slaps as the demoness had cut across the girl's mind, she still managed to take control over their body from time to time.

Draqx nodded and shifted the weight of the backpack he wore slightly.
'I am allready to go, so I will stay here and answer questions if you have any while everyone gets things, if you need something brought and its bulky or hard to move, tell me and I will add it to the transport list.'
Draqx looked around at the group and nodded once more signalling that was what he had to say about that.
(( sounds reasonable eh? ))

Kiami looked a Lucid with furrowed eye brows. She was pulled away from her bickering with Leo when Lucid spoke of the mission. She wondered why they had pulled Amico from the mission and shrugged it off. “I’m almost concerned about this,” She let out a sigh. “Alright, I’ll be back. I won’t be long.” She ran inside smiling at Lucid as she ran past. Her ice spear melted and returned to the fountain as water.
She was back out within a few minutes with a small pale blue bag over her shoulder with a water bottle strapped to the top of it. She was dressed in light clothing, mostly in pale blues and turquoise to match the water that she worked with. A choker sat around her neck with a small jade stone in the middle of it. She wore a short sleeved jacket that was kept closed by a stone covered belt. She wore protective gloves as well and tall boots that went all the way up past her knees. She came to a stop when she reached the group again and stood with her heals together. “Ok, I’m ready.” She grinned. She turned her attention to Leo again and stuck out her tongue then grinned again. She looked away from Leo and up at Lucid. “Where are we going anyways?”

Not for the first time, Meredith stood stock still and watched the dancers in their tribal garb, undulating and wailing, calling their gods to the altar. It was a horrific thing; an unadorned stone slab still coated with the dried blood of virgin girls. A live one lay there now, wrists bound and dark eyes wild in her brown face. And yet, she did not struggle. Was she a willing sacrifice? Perhaps she was only too frightened, too resigned to her fate. For all he knew, she could be bound by more than the simple rope around her wrists. "Stop it..." He said softly as he continued to watch. The high priest lifted the athame above his head and called out to the skies in a language the boy could not understand.
"Stop it!" Meredith yelled louder, just as the blade began to descend with deadly accuracy. He had seen this sacrifice and many others before; the athame never missed its mark. But Meredith was mercifully spared from having to watch the rest of the grisly ritual; all around him now was the safe, harmless Show Room.
Relieved, sickened and distraught, Meredith slowly collapsed onto the floor, supported on hands and knees. He felt like he might lose his lunch right then and there, but he gulped in deep breaths and suppressed the urge. One, two and then three drops of moisture hit the floor before Meredith registered that tears were slowly falling down his cheeks. Passing suddenly from despair into anger, Meredith regained his feet and roughly wiped his eyes on his sleeve.
"Doctor?" Meredith slipped his glove back on and waited, but there was no response. That was not surprising. Times like this one he did not know whether he had simply lost his link to the doctor or whether the spirit had intentionally abandoned him. He did not intend to ask; neither answer would much improve his mood. Meredith stalked back into the elevator and requested the first floor.
Failure. Again. Its taste was bitter and did not sweeten with repeated samplings. Meredith's teeth were clenched tightly as were his fists now shoved deeply in his pockets. He needed to relax... perhaps some fresh air? Not that fresh air had ever really seemed to lessen the reek of defeat that seemed to permeate the air around him. Now you are just exaggerating, dear. Not the doctor, but a woman this time. Realizing he must have been muttering under his breath, Meredith tries to force a small smile. "I'm sorry. Let's have a walk, then. What is your name? I do not think we've had the pleasure of meeting." Meredith strides out onto the campus more calmly than he felt.

Alexander changed his appearance into something quite ghastly. His face turned golden. All facial features gone but eye holes and a small open mouth with jagged peaks hanging from the top and bottom of the mouth. Behind the mask was nothing at all. Atleast not to anyone around him. His body became very large and muscular. Out of the mask grew straight bright white hair down to his waist. He wore only a loincloth. "I figured I might atleast try to look like the natives." he said in a loud rough voice. He walked up to lucid silently. "So what is this mission?" he said quietly in his own voice. "I need to know what were up against. You know I at the least need to know. I'm the best you have for reconassaince." [sp?] He said calmly.

Taro watched Zenn with an unwavering gaze even though he so desperatly desired to close his eyes and die. Somethings were more important and were to be held in the highest regard, like honour. If he was to crumble in a heap in front of Zenn than all his efforts would have gone to waste because that would have meant Zenn had won. He hung onto his okatana with the fingertips of his left hand, barely able to hold it. Muscles that hadn't sustained direct damage in the battle now ached.
Taro watched Zenn dissapear into the portal, not bothering to give chase. He knew it was his mission to kill or capture Zenn but at this point it was impossible. He followed a strict code of honour and bravery, and even though sometimes it was hard to tell those apart from stupidity he knew better than to act rash. He would cut off his own hand if it meant completing a mission but following Zenn into that vortex of death and evil was sheer madness.
The portal closed after Zenn had left it, leaving Taro to enjoy and relax with his thoughts as he slowly died from his injuries. His legs shook and his knees buckled. Taro fell on his back but in that moment of instinct reason came through and he tossed his sword so he didn't land on it.
Taro lay on his back, feeling comfortable even though he was on hard ground. Above him, the skies had turned dark, the smoke from the fires on ground had darkened the heavens. Evil, black clouds rolled in from the horizon and covered the skies. One hundred percent of storm with no chance of sun, Taro thought.
Beneath him he felt something against his back. He lifted himself barely so he could reach underneath into his back pockets, taking out a cigarette carton and his lighter. Some of the cigarettes had been crushed but one of them was only bent slightly. Taro placed into his mouth, holding it with his lips tiredly. He lit it and inhaled, feeling slightly better.
"Son of a b***h," Taro grumbled, taking a drag and blinking heavily. "Dishonourable dog. Traitorous renegade..."
His voice trailed off and he fell asleep, the cigarette still in his mouth.

When Amarantha took over and attempted to push at him, he didn't bother trying to stop her. Usuallly Consensio could gain control in time, though even if she couldn't, it didn't matter to him if anything happened. "Heh, it's always the same with her, she'll never learn." Slowly he let himself down onto the ground. He was tired an needed to rest right now, in order for him to regain his strength and to try and slow the blood loss. "Everything went as plan, they are stronger then we first thought. Chances are, we'll see more of them, it's only a matter of time, they'll eventually come to us, then we'll have the advantage." He looked downward at his bloody hand. "Now I know the feeling of almost dying, just makes me want to die more. For now, I'll do everything in my power to prevent that, like I promised I would."
~~~
Lucid handed the mission folder to Draqx. "That sounds like a plan to me, here's everything you need to know to answer any questions Draqy. For me, I just need my bag and I'll be set, nothing too hard to move. This mission should be fun, it's been a long time, I look forward to it." He looked toward Kiami who just got back from getting her things. "That sure was quick, it's good that your ready, and were going to Germany, I hear they have nice weather this time of year." Lucid's attention turned to Alex. "Well, it's kinda hard to say what we're up against, seems our enemy may end up being unclassified, which could mean trouble for sure. Though, our main focus is to find that research team, we hope for the best, but doesn't seem like there are any good signs. Anymore questions, you can ask Draqy, for now, I need to get my things. Luckily I keep my things in my classroom."
With that he proceeded to walk down the hallway back to his classroom. He walked a little quicker now and after a minute or so of walking he reached the door. Opening the door he walked inside and over toward the corner. There was a smaller purple backpack which was already packed. He always traveled light, but he needed a bag that could at least fit his extra bottle of water inside, a change of clothes, and various other items that he needed for the mission. He picked up his bag and put it over his shoulder and walked to the door while closing it behind him. This time however, he locked the door on the way out and headed back to the fountain square. After another minute of walking he moved back to where he was before. "Good thing I always keep my things ready."
Draqx sighed at the nickname as he took the folder and looked at the people assembled.
'Okay, and justas a side note, my name is Draqx, Mr. Atray has more then earned the eccentricity of calling me whatever he decides, and out of politness I anser to that. Now we will be heading to Germany, extra supplies and equipment will be airdropped in, so any essential supplies and anything you might need right away you might think about taking with you personally.
Draqx ephisied the X as in tax or thumbtacks as well as the name as at-ray instead of as in atreidies [sp?]
Now I know you do not get as many field exersises as one may like, so why dont we treat the initial landing and setup as if it was a hot LZ, get it done fast, thoughoughly, and right the first time. Then once we got the basic home base set up and initialized, then split up into search teams, and those that will stay at base and compleate set up and help with comand center and orginizational duties. This should work out well, as for the first part after setup is complete there will not be as much to monitor, and when everthings up and running, a system of shifts and rest can be set up. If you think you have the situation under hand at that point you will be given the option of setting up the shifts yourselfs. If you are too busy and are in need of assistance, then ether myself or Mr. Atray will set up a system for you.'
This would keep the students on thier toes, and if they got done in short order, then they would be able to work things out themselfs, a bit of a rewards for a job well done, but if they were too bogged down to do so... well sometimes the assignments some teachers had been known to hand out made it a good incentive to get done, and done right fast. Another reason Draqx wanted to do it that way, was that if they went in treating it as a hot LZ, then if anything did happen before they got a base of operations set up, then they would more likely be ready to handle it.
(( exerpt from military 101, murphy strikes anywhere and everywhere, most often when you least want it to, so take steps as if it will strike anyways... and if for some chance the worst does not happen, then consider it your lucky day, and plan for the next worse thing to happen. ))
Leo let the weight of the world slowly fall back upon him, giving him a soft enough landing. He soon ran inside to change and grab his bag, right behind Kiami. When he emerged, he was dressed in a loose white pair of pants that were tight at the waist and ankles, to avoid interference with his running, a pair of red tabi's that were tied to his ankles under his runner's pants by a thin, brown thread, a tight, black top that came to right above his bottom ribs and came down into a V shap in the front of the neck and cut off right where his shoulder started, an black arm band on his left elbow, and a pair of fingerless, red gloves. He came out with a small bag strapped to his body by two velcro/buckled straps that fitted tightly around his torso and under his arms. He took apair of partially yellow tinted uni-screen sunglasses and placed them on his face. Kiami ran out seconds after he did. She ran up and stood next to him. Leo leaned over and whispered into her ear. "Like I'd ever go after Lucid! He's much to old for me. I'd certainly go for someone like..." Leo then remembered. "Mere! Isn't he on this mission? Where is he?" Leo ran back into the building in search of Meredith. He found he roaming around the first floor, talking to either himself or one of the ghost he could speak to. "Mere! Hey, aren't you assigned to the mission in Germany? 'Cause we're leaving here pretty soon. Everyone's gathered in the courtyard by the fountain. Hurry up!" Leo said, grabbing his hand and tugging at him to move.
