((OKAY REDY GO!!!))
Talen tilted a smile at him. "You couldn't possibly make it worse..." He paused. "Unless you punched me again. That could probably make it worse... your 'healing' doesn't involve punching, I hope. I really don't like punching right now."
He then shook his head and laughed. "Just don't worry so much." And then he stood still and watched him curiously.
He wasn't really expecting too much, or maybe he just didn't know what he was expecting at all. Maybe an angelic choir? But when Abel's hands began to glow he did take a sharp intake of breath. He glanced between his hands and his face and just shook his head in a awe. But it wasn't just something he was seeing. He FELT it. He could feel his body repairing itself.
When Abel drew away he was still shaking his head. "Is there no limit to your talents?" He said with a smile and examined the bruise. "I need a poke test..." And with a finger he made a jab at the mostly healed wound. He smiled. "Didn't feel a thing! HALLELUJAH! I'M HEALED!" He laughed and shook his head, but then paused.
"You look tired... does that wear you out?" He wanted to know.

Abel laughed slightly and shook his head as well. "That's the only 'talent' I have I guess." He winced when Talen jabbed the healing bruise, afraid it'd still hurt. "You shouldn't be so reckless..." As Talen laughed, Abel smiled, glad he had actually healed Talen's wound...except there were much more on the boy that Abel was unsure if he would be able to do them all.
"Oh?" Abel blinked and nodded a bit. "I'm only a little tired, that's all. I've just never done it before...I guess it's along the same principles as learning to swim or...you know...another physical activity...which I don't do much of." He smirked and looked down the road. After looking back at Talen, he examined his face and frowned again.
"You have so many more though...maybe I can do the ones that hurt the most..." He laced his fingers together and rubbed his mouth with a thoughtful gaze.

"What hurts the most?" Talen looked very thoughtful about this. He put his hand to his chin and hum-ed to himself. "It'd make sense to heal the most visible bits, wouldn't it?" He asked thinking of his sister and how'd she react.
But that wasn't what hurt the most.
Talen glanced around carefully again and then raised his eyebrows at Abel. "Alright. I got a big one here. Don't freak out." He grabbed the end of his shirt and rolled it up carefully. Most of his torso was bruised and battered, but the worst of it was along his right side where it puckered red, purple, green, and sickly yellow. The place where Cain's knuckles made contact was split and clotted with sticky blood.
"He hit me there like ten FRICKIN' times I swear to fuc- frickin' god. It felt like he was tenderizing me with his FIST." Talen made a stab at smiling. He looked down to his shirt and saw it was blood stained. "You know... he was wearing a ring or something maybe. Which is cheap and low and exactly like Cain... so you know..." He looked down at again and winced.
"I swear it's better than it looks."

((Ewwww. *squirms* ))
Abel knew he hadn't seen the worst of Talen's injuries, but when Talen told him not the freak out, Abel knew it would be bad. He tried to prepare himself for the worst, but when he saw Talen's torso, his eyes widened and he gasped. Then when he looked to his side his face went pale and he put a hand to his mouth. "And you didn't say anything?!" He yelped and moved closer, staring at the gash.
"Talen..." He whispered and put a hand to his forehead, frowning and shaking his head. "You should have..." But he decided better on finishing that sentence and instead, very carefully, put a hand over the large wound. "You don't have to lie to make me feel better." He muttered and smiled a bit at him. "I'm weak, not stupid, remember?" With a joking smile he looked back to his hand and frowned again.
"Okay, hold still..." Closing his eyes again he focused onto Talen. He pushed away any other thoughts and let his mind steady onto his hand, once again imagining a light flowing from his veins and out to his hand. This time, as he healed, he could feel the pain. His face twisted but he refused to let it deter him. After a few minutes the pain began to subside, his expression relaxed, and he could feel the wound getting smaller.
After another few minutes he let go. This time he was definitely more tired. There was a slight twinge on his arm, but he ignored it and smiled at Talen. The wound was now closed, only a little bruising remaining, but nothing severe, and nothing that would cause pain. "Does it feel better?" He asked, eyes steady on Talen's face.

((Hahah, I'm sorry. I enjoy writing very violent things D:< BECAUSE I'M SUCH A VIOLENT PERSON.
You don't even KNOOOOW.))
"Well, I'm sayin' it now aren't I?" Talen replied in an easy tone of voice, hoping to calm him down. "I said NOT to freak out. Seriously! It's like... it doesn't really hurt... well, I mean it HURTS but only if I like, breathe too hard and I've been doing a very good job of NOT breathing too hard." He smiled again.
"Should have what?" Talen asked. "Should have let Cain get away after doing that to Saul? I should have just let him beat the hell out of my friend and let him go?" His eyes were serious. "I can't do that, Abel. It's COMPLETELY against my nature. It was my fault we even got caught in the flippin' first place and I let Saul take it for me and- EEEEH owow James Taylor was MY STEP FATHER." He hissed out when Abel touched his hand to the very nasty bruise.
And then he laughed, shaking his head. "I'm the stupid one."
While he was being healed it found it easier and easier to breathe and when he was done he rolled his shirt back down. He grinned at Abel. "Thanks." He said. "It feels like new almost."
Talen then sighed and tucked his hands behind his head. "So much for school today... Alice'll kill me..." He quirked his mouth. "Maybe we should check on Saul."

((Haha oh, I know this already. D: I think we can equal each other out haha. You like writing violent things and I like writing flowery cute things!
CAT! *waves her hands at her baby*))
Abel only smiled and nodded. "You're welcome." It felt kind of wonderful to be getting a thank you. He didn't expect or, nor did he need to get it, but actually having one thrown to him was pretty decent. It told him he was doing something good, it gave him a reassurance that this was where he was needed, where he was supposed to be.
"She won't kill you so much as for missing school, but for getting hurt again." He stated and then looked over to the hospital. "Yeah, we really should. I hope he'll be okay." As they walked into the hospital he caught a glimpse of auburn hair and his heart stopped, but started to beat again when he saw it was only Lilith.
She had a hand wrapped up in bandages and a large patch over her left eye. When she looked up, she met Abel's gaze and her cold face seemed to lighten just slightly.
Abel on the other hand, his darkened with worry. "Hi, Lilith." He said and she shrugged, as if that was a way to say hello. A nurse came up behind her and told her something. She responded in a calm tone and shook her head. The nurse nodded and walked away. Lilith came up to Talen and Abel and studied them with that expressionless face.
"I didn't think you could get much uglier." Was her response to Talen, a slight rise in her voice signaling that it was a joke. Abel glanced to Talen and back to Lilith. "What are you two doing here? Trying to do some community service to make yourselves a bit more holy?" A twitch on her lips tried to put out a smile.
"Our frien-"
"Saul." Lilith said and looked to the side. "I heard." She used a good hand to pull some hair behind her dark ear. "He looked uglier than he usually did too. I saw the nurse taking him away. I could have sworn he pissed his pants when he saw me." She continued to look to the side.
"Do you know if he's okay?" Abel asked patiently, trying to ignore how emotionless the girl seemed. It didn't make him uneasy in a frightened or angry way, it made him uneasy in that worried way, as if something was wrong with her, something that shouldn't be wrong with her.
"I doubt he'd really want to see me now, of all people. Lord only knows if my brother followed me...not that I'd let him. If he followed me anywhere I'd punch him in the balls...punch him hard."
((Hahaha. I kinda like her. D: ))

((LOOL. She is amusing XD))
Talen glanced at Abel about the remark on his sister. "... You're probably right." He said and grinned.
He then followed after Abel back towards the hospital and was surprised to see Lilith. He felt very uncomfortable by this. Maybe it was the fact SHE was at the hospital and she seemed a little rough herself.
Abel was the first to say hello, of course. At her greeting towards him he smiled briefly.
"You don't look too good yourself, princess." He said, but more with a concerned tone than a joking one. He then laughed at the comment she made towards Cain. "He should be afraid... very afraid. I shoulda had you with me while we were going at it. One blow from you and I woulda had him, huh?"
He then drew a little nearer. "What's with the new look? Trying to look a little tougher?" He put one hand into the other and cracked his knuckles.
"Who did that?" He wanted to know.
((hahahaha, I bet you if she said JFK he would STILL try to beat him up XDDD Oh, Talen. You're so silly.))

Lilith watched Talen and raised her brows. "Who? The ghost of Martin Luther King Junior. But you know...I might have said a few racist remarks here and there. He was just teaching me a lesson."
((Okay. Onto the REAL post. Haha. Sorry. D: ))
Lilith's green eyes moved from Abel to Talen when he spoke to her and she shrugged again. "It's not like I try much anyways." She then, just barely, gave a smirk and tilted her chin up. "If I had been there, he'd have not thrown a single punch. I've got him tied onto my fingers." Something about her statement was laced with a undertone of doubt, something Abel picked up easily, and he puckered his brows in concern.
"Tougher?" Lilith shook her head. "I may be tough, but I'm not one to go around trying to show that off. I like people not knowing I am, and then when I go at it, they are open to surprise." She waved her hand and then looked back to Talen when he asked who did it. Her lips tightened into a line and she looked to Abel, who seemed just as curious.
"I don't think it matters really. I'm fine. You'd be surprised how fast I heal. By tomorrow I'll be the same as always." Her voice lowered and she straightened her posture. "I doubt you two would want to get involved either way. It's not fit for you. And definitely not worth it." Her eye shifted to Abel who was still frowning. "Frowning doesn't fit you either. So stop making that face."
Abel lightened a bit but still looked worried until he saw the nurse who had taken Saul away coming towards them.

((NO WORK TOMORROW! Just sweet, sweet party time New Year's madness. BABY. OH BABY.
And that Martin Luther king comment CRACKED ME UP.))
"Of COURSE it matters!" Talen said suddenly. He spread out his hands. "How could you say something like that? And what would make you think I wouldn't want to get involved?" He demanded. "If someone is hurting you I want to make them hurt back."
And why did he want to help? He hardly knew her besides the fact she was Cain's sister and not to be touched. Talen was one of those rebel punks who was prince in disguise. He may have been destroying himself but he still could not for the life of him turn down someone who needed help. He was the guy that would go completely out of his way, make circles, and do back flips for someone if they needed it. You tell him to jump and he'd ask you where and never how high. It didn't matter how high.
And here was this girl, denying his help. It was frustrating.
"You're frustrating." He said and tugged at his hair.
But he'd never be able to insist further. The nurse who had wheeled Saul away was walking towards them. Talen walked to meet her and grasped her shoulder.
"Is he alright?" He asked her right off.
She smiled lightly. "It was bad... but not bad enough. He'll be fine..." She trailed off. "But we couldn't get in contact with his family."
"Of course you couldn't" He put in before she could finish.
"So.. there will be problems with the bill... are you family?" She wanted to know and already knew the answer was no, but her eyes told him to PLEASE just say yes.
Talen smiled. "Yeah. Cousins. Real close. Same school, same classes."
"You can see him." She said. "But we found traces of drugs-"
"You can keep that confidential can't you?" Talen wanted to know.
She thinned her lips and decided not to answer. "We'll be keeping him over night, but tomorrow he should be fine to go. He's real bandaged up and we had to clear his lungs, but he was awake when I left if you want to talk to him."
Talen looked to Abel and jerked his head towards the hospital. He followed after the nurse. "You can come too if you want, Lilith."
((hahaha, yeah... only family can visit and stuff... Talen was probably going to try and sneak in otherwise. LOLZ. OKAY. YOUR TURN.))

((New years! Wooo! And I am so glad you enjoyed it. After that JFK comment...I couldn't resist. Haha.))
Lilith blinked at Talen as he seemed to get worked up over her injuries. Why he cared about her was beyond her understanding. She was used to no one even looking at her, much less getting upset over her. She realized she should have felt some type of warmth over that concern, yet she felt nothing. Instead she shook her head and looked away from him.
"You don't even know me. You should keep it that way." She remarked and turned her head when the nurse came over.
Abel's eyes flickered away from Talen and Lilith, eyes widening with worry when the nurse came over. His fears were ebbed away when she said that he would be okay. "Oh thank heavens..." He whispered and rubbed at his face. He winced slightly, a pain on his upper arm. Lilith glanced to him and raised a brow, but noticed the look in his eyes that told her not to say anything.
"Drugs?" Abel repeated, brows furrowing. He should have noticed. He looked at Talen, studying his face before looking back at the nurse. It pained him to know that Saul had no family to get in contact with...but it pained him even more to know the trouble he was putting himself through.
As Talen followed the nurse, Abel quickly pursued. Lilith stood there and quirked her brows ever so slightly when Talen invited her. "He'll have a heart attack. But hell, why not, if he hasn't gotten one from overdosing yet, he should be fine." She muttered and stayed a few steps behind the two boys, healthy hand in one pocket, while her bandaged one swung by her hip.

((GO. GO. GOOO.))
When they all emerged into Saul's hospital room his first response was to smile. He smiled brightly at Abel then Talen... and then he saw Lilith. He paled a shade lighter than his already sickly face.
"She... wait... and I." And he turned his head and stuffed it in his lumpy pillow, like an ostrich hiding in the sand. The back of his neck glowed a violent red.
A beautiful girl was in his room. He was beaten beyond any physical attraction, he smelled, AND he was in a hospital gown that if he stood up and bent over his skinny little white butt would hang out. He made a muffle noise that sounded something like a groan mixed with a humiliated sob.
Talen glanced once at Lilith and gave a snerk. "I think it was something you said." He remarked smartly and strode over to Saul's bedside. "Hey man. Don't worry. I won't let her hurt you, huh?" He grasped at one of his forearms and shook it gently.
He said something into his pillow.
"What's that? Can't quite here you?" Talen said grinning, leaning closer.
He pulled his face from his pillow and glanced at Lilith briefly. He was glowing behind his bruised face. He leaned close to Talen and whispered, "Why did you you to bring HER here?"
Talen laughed. "We figured it'd be a nice get well present."

Abel smiled back at Saul and moved closer to the bed the beaten boy lay in. He examined him for a minute, making sure everything looked okay. When everything looked good, or as good as it could be at the moment, Abel relaxed and watched Saul pale when Lilith walked in.
Lilith leaned against the wall and held up a hand in greeting and looked at Saul as he shoved his face into a pillow. She blew through her nose and rolled her eyes. "I've seen uglier things, trust me. I see my brother every day." Her monotone voice made it sound serious, although it was somewhat obvious she was making a joke.
Abel smiled slightly and laughed a bit when Talen reassured Saul that Lilith wouldn't hurt him. "Don't worry, Saul." Abel said gently and then sat down on the chair that was by Saul's bed. "I'm glad you're feeling better. I was awfully concerned...but I do feel a little relieved to see you talk." He spoke calmly and placed his hands on his knees, studying Saul's face.
Lilith remained where she was and then raised her shaped brows at Saul's question. "You make it sound like I'm some awful monster here to devour your soul. You just need to chill out a bit. I think I kind of like you better when you're too high to care about anything." She said and crossed her arms over her stomach.
Abel's eyes darkened at the mention of drugs and he leaned back in his chair. "How are you feeling? I do hope you feel better..."

((LOLOLLL.... okay go D:<))
Talen laughed a little and Lilith's jokes and shook his head a little at her. "Lay off, the guys not well, huh? What a bully."
Saul just looked more embarrassed and couldn't really bring himself to look at her. "Y-yeah... uh... I-it's not that." He tried to say. His voice was dry and crackly, like a paper bag and yet it still took this opportunity to crack like it did when he was going through puberty. He stopped attempting to talk to her. It'd leave less space to humiliate himself further.
He never was really good with girls.
Talen patted Saul on the hand and jokingly gave him a pity shake of his head.
Saul ignored both of them and focused on Abel. "Feeling?" He smiled and licked at his scabby lips. "Yeah. Better... sort of." He sighed and laid back on his pillows. His hair spread out around his pillow in pitiful piles of unwashed strands. He didn't know what he was going to do after this.
"But thanks." He said quickly to Abel. "For..." And he didn't know what, but he knew he needed to say thanks. He rubbed at his forehead and looked tired. He then raised his head and looked at Talen. "And you... didn't you... bust a good one at Cain's face?"
Talen gave a very reckless smile and gave Abel a masculine punch to the shoulder. "Sure as hell did. More than one."
Saul grinned in return and gave a Talen a feeble punch in return. "He look worse than you?"
"Ten times."
"Damn." Saul said. "He must be dead then." And smiled slowly at his own joke.
Talen gave the other two unbelieving glances at the joke he had made. "DID YOU HEAR HIM? Do I REALLY look that bad?" He wanted to know.

Lilith shook her head and walked over to another of the chairs and sat down in it, running her fingers through her hair and resting her injured hand on her lap. "I was only telling the truth. I don't like sugar coating things. All pointless." She raised her green eye to the ceiling and drummed the arm of the chair.
Abel looked at Lilith with a confused expression. "Not if it hurts their feelings..."
"If they find out the truth than it hurts even more than just saying the truth from the very start."
"But you don't lie...you just be nice to them..." Abel began and winced a bit when he moved his arm. Lilith pursed her lips at him and kept his gaze.
"I consider sugar coating things a lie. Not telling the whole truth is lying." She gave a simple shrug and looked away, tilting her head back and staring at the ceiling. When Saul and Talen talked about Cain her face twisted and she rubbed at her nose. "He looked like a big pile of shi-"
Abel frowned. Lilith breathed out. "He looked pretty bad. You should have seen him. But it suits him very well. An ugly face for an ugly person."
When Talen asked about how he looked, both Abel and Lilith looked at him with an unsure expression, though Lilith's seemed less so than Abel's.
"Ahhhh..." Abel began.
"You look like a train hit you." Lilith finished for the angel and motioned to the bathroom that connected to the hospital room. "Mirror is in there, if you dare look. But trust me, you are better off not destroying what little dignity you have."
"It's not that bad really...you don't look ugly." Abel said quietly and smiled. "It will all heal well. I'm sure it will."
"Yeah well, who knows how long it will take."
"It will heal fast." Abel commented calmly, not looking to Lilith who was gazing at him. "Don't worry. Both you and Saul should be fine." He seemed sure of himself as he got up and wandered over to the window. "You need some fresh air." He grinned at Saul and pushed the window open a crack.

((LOL. I'M GOING TO POST. OKAY?))
Talen smirked. "Ha." He said of Cain. "See?" He said to Saul. "If I look bad you should see THE OTHER guy." He joked.
When he waited their answer of how bad he looked, and he was greeted with a silence that said it must have been pretty bad, he just smiled. Then he laughed at Lilith's blunt explanation. "A train wreck? Better than I thought..." He said wonderingly.
When Abel said he didn't look ugly he laughed again. "Don't WORRY about it. I still have my boyish charm." And with that he waltzed into the bathroom to have a look see. "Don't worry you worry so much about me and my dignity, Lilith. Though it warms me that you care so." He joked as he flipped the light switch on.
He then gave a grunt and there was the sound of his hands settling on either side of the sink.
"Man. My face looks like a... There's not even anything to compare it to." He opened his mouth. "AH HA! All my teeth!" There was a longer pause as he inspected his face tenderly with his fingers. "No black eyes! Ow... my lip... it's all... in two pieces. HEY! I know what I look like... the guy at the bottom of the tackle after a football game... only the other team was a team of really big fat guys, who just ate, and had bad gas... and... hm. One of them had a mace... and a meat tenderizer... AND ONE HAD A TASTE FOR BLOOD! And he was chewing on my leg while the other tugged on my hair... and I think I'm getting carried away."
Saul laughed and buried his face in his hands. "Crazy sonofabitch." Is what he had to say.
When Abel opened the window a crack he smiled and then settled back against his pillows again. He was back to his old somber self. "Hey." He said to Abel. "Is there something wrong?" And he didn't know quite why he asked, but Saul didn't know quite why he did a lot of things.
