-=Neko walked down the cave entrance, a hot mug of tea in one hand, and a manilla folder in the other. He stopped as he saw Karu around the corner, and locked eyes with him, in a 'deer in headlights' fashion=-

Karu opened one eye and looked at the man staring at him. He then pulled himself to his feet and smiled. He walked slowly over to him. "Hi, the name's Karu. Are you the sensei here?"

-=Neko blinks and takes a sip of his tea, walking past Karu and pushing open the doors to the Mizu dojo with his foot, since his hands were full=-
Yeah, I am. Come on in...
-=He walked in and over to the nearest couch and table, to set down the folder and his tea, then sit and wit for Karu as he opened the folder and looked through it's contents=-

Karu followed Neko and sat on the couch. "I was wondering if you could train me, if that's alright." He shifted his weight slightly, the couch wasn't very comfortable. "I want to become a shinobi."

Zakuro stepped into the cave entrance. Her dark eyes flicked about as she took in the sights. The damp air felt good in her lungs. It had been much too long since she was near so much water. She smiled behind her light blue scarf and tucked some long ebony strands of hair behind her ear.

-=Neko pulled out a sheet of paper from the folder, and placed it in front of Karu. It showed all of his physical characteristics, a little bit of his past, jutst major events, it had a photo of him paperclipped to it, and it showed a small list of his abilities=-
...I know...
-=After sorting through some of the other papers, Neko pulled them out and closed the folder, but kept the newer sheets in hia hand as he leaned back and looked at Karu, glancing at Zakuro=-
So, why don't you tell me a little about yourself, what exactly you expect to learn, and anything you know about water, as an element.

Zakuro sat cross legged next to the waterfall. She watched Neko and Karu carefully, but lowered her eyes when Neko looked her way. Making little movement or sound that would attract any attention to herself, she listened intently to what Karu's answer would be to the questions.

-=Neko looked up and over at Zakuro, putting his feet on the table as he leaned back=-
And what about you? What do you expect to learn here, and what do you know about Mizu?

(Because of the length of the post I'm going to color all that technical information she's spewing in blue. You don't have to read it.)
Zakuro blinked. She wasn't expecting to have a question directed at her. "Water in its pure form is a tasteless, odorless substance that is essential to all known forms of life and is known as the universal solvent. It appears colorless to the naked eye in small quantities." She said at 90 miles an hour. "Water has the chemical formula H2O meaning that one molecule of water is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. It can be described ionically as HOH, with a hydrogen ion (H+) that is bonded to a hydroxide ion (OH-). It is in dynamic equilibrium between the liquid and vapor states at standard temperature and pressure. Water alone is a colorless, tasteless, and odorless liquid, but upon standing it takes on the traces of carbon dioxide in the air and trends toward a sour solution of carbonic acid that is unpleasant-tasting and more inhospitable to life. Water is often referred to in the sciences as the universal solvent and the only pure substance found naturally in all three states of matter." She took a breath and kept going. "A common misconception about water is that it is a powerful conductor of electricity, with risks of electrocution explaining this popular belief. Any electrical properties observable in water are due to the ions of mineral salts and carbon dioxide dissolved in it. Water does self-ionize where two water molecules become one hydroxide anion and one hydronium cation, but not enough to carry enough electric current to do any work or harm for most operations. Pure water can also be electrolyzed into oxygen and hydrogen gases but without any dissolved ions, this is a very slow process and thus very little current is conducted. The taste advertised in spring water or mineral water derives from the minerals present, while pure H2O is tasteless. As such, purity in spring and mineral water refers to purity from toxins, pollutants, and microbes." She stopped herself abruptly when she realized she was rambling. She sunk downward and refused to say anything else.

"I want to be able to use water as a weapon In any form... I hope to become stronger." He had always had a certain respect for water. Without it nothing could live. It was also his natural element. He slid down into the couch. He felt that was a good answer.

-=Neko sighed softly, and looked between the two students=-
Alright, you both seem to be competant.
-=Slowly, he stands up, and cranes his neck to the side, it was getting stiff=-
The first step in mastering an element, any element, is to respect it. I'm not talking about any deep respect found through meditation. I mean true respect.
Now, Karu, I'll give you a little while to prepare, and when you're through, meet me in the far chamber..
-=Neko nodded to the large oaken door at the end of the cavern, then looked to Zakuro=-
And you are welcome to it, as well, though, I'll need to know your name, first.

Nami was careful to be quiet as she took in her surroundings.
The directions obtained for the Mizu dojo had proved unfailingly accurate and now she stood in the main room, eyes darting around cautiously, noting the positions of beams and lamps, bridges and areas of rest. For a few moments, she simply let the sound of the water wash over her. She felt immediate calm.
The scroll of introduction was grasped firmly in her left hand as she adjusted her pack. She could have brought the introduction from the Hokage in a folder, or other practical means of transportation but Konoha had always been one for tradition and so she held her scroll, complete with one from the Hyuuga Clan and one of her own that she had written halfway through her journey to the Gaian Ninja Academy. The three were snugly rolled together, the Hokage's sealed with the village symbol.
A shinobi of high rank sat with two young ninjas, apparently in discussion. She would not interrupt them. She had always been good at waiting.
Settling herself comfortably near the waterfall, she pulled a tattered book from her bag. One hand grasped it loosely, while the other dangled over the water, taking the transparent liquid and manipulating it into various, meaningless shapes. A flower blossom glistened up at her before splashing back into the pond.

Karu stood up and began walking toward the large oak door with his hands behind his head. He opened the door and waited inside doing some stretches. "Don't want to pull anything."

-=Neko nodded to Zakuro, respectfully, then focused his attention on Karu. He walked into the round cavern and watched Karu stretch for a few moments, then reached down and touched the pond, resting his hand on the surface of the water. After a few moments, the pond started to freeze over, the first few feet of water becoming solid ice.
The water vapor in the chamber also became chilled, leaving a layer of frost on everything it touched, including the walls of the cave. The temperature dropped noticably, from around sixty degrees Farenheit, to about twenty five. Neko turned back to Karu, seemingly unaffected by the change=-
The first step in your training will be to sit in the center of the lake. You get a towel to sit on, and your underwear. You will stay here until I see that you're ready to move on.
-=Neko smiled to Karu and walked back into the commons for a moment, then came back with a pink hand-towel, and sat it on on the floor, next to the frozen water's edge=-
I'll come back to check on you periodically. If you decide to chicken out, the door is unlocked. Good luck.
-=And with that, Neko shut the doors to the main chamber, and stepped back into the commons, which were still the same temperature they were before, around sixty five degrees. He let out a small sigh and looked over to the new face, raising an eyebrow in curiosity as he inspected her from afar=-
This must be the Hyuuga...Wow, this is going to be fun.
-=Neko cleared his throat and made his way over to the girl, giving her a slight nod of respect as he stood beside her, arms folded behind his back=-
Can I help you with anything?
