Lai gave a short, low wave to Thasios as the man disappeared down the hall. Once his form had fully disappeared Lai retook the seat he was originally situated in, though stretching his legs out in front of him. Just another attempt to get the numb sleep fully out of his legs, more specifically his joints. Once he felt something give a pleasant pull in both Lai sat right on the chair. The Russian looked over to Hyo, smiling at the girl before pointing down the hall where Thasios vanished.

"He will be back."

"...Thank you" was all Johannes could muster. He was relieved by the fact that his ears have stopped ringing. That, and he was sitting down. In any case, he can just fall asleep and do no more harm than if he was walking back to his room.


Johannes took off his helmet and brushed his hand on his wig, while he waited. He hadn't paid attention to his beard but he wasn't as worried as before. "If it hasn't fallen off, it won't now."


To pass the time while Wraith would get some water, Johannes decided to whistle...or hum. Well, it was actually a combination of both, but you get the idea.

Lai listened to the words Hyo spoke. It sounded like the girl was trying to repeat his sentences. Ah! So she wanted to learn English! For her first time the girl did reasonably well, so Lai patted her on the head and nodded.

"Yes. He. Will. Be. Back." He spoke slowly, emphasizing the syllables so that Hyo could form the words. Lai only worried about his own accent, his 'W's' sounded like 'V's', plus other factors. Quietly he figured if he spoke slow enough, the accent wouldn't matter as much. He nodded to himself and spoke the words again, slow and fluid, and with a short pause between each word.

"He. Will. Be. Back."

Lai nodded as the girl grasped the words pretty well. Though something told him she didn't quite get what they meant all together. This would take some thought. There was no point of speaking words if you didn't know what they meant right? So how to go by this...

"Right Miss Hyo." He stood up and walked to the center of the hallway, facing the girl. Then he turned and pointed the way Thasios had left. Okay, that gave direction and they both knew Thasios went that way when he left. Smiling at the girl, Lai spoke the first word again.

"He." Meaning Thasios. Then Lai let his hand fall and his arm swing so that his finger was pointing at the spot where Thasios was when he walked over from out of the ballroom.

"Will. Be. Back." The man in the wine stained clothes would go back to being right there. Lai hoped that she could get this idea. If not, he would try again until they made sense. Once again he repeated the sentence, pointing down the hall then to the spot on the floor as he spoke.

"He. Will. Be. Back."

Lai nodded again as Hyo presented the words in a question. Yes, Thasios will be back. Hopefully in not too long a time so that his example and words would hold true. Lai repeated his motion and words once more and would have done it again when Hyo clapped.

"You understand it Miss Hyo?" Lai's face lit up. He was able to teach someone something! And it didn't involve falling and scraping his hand up and then the oddest medical treatment ever that led to...Ahem. Now was not the time to be thinking of that day in his life. The images would be too vivid and he'd probably start blushing madly. Which would probably confuse Hyo.

The Russian strode forward and patted Hyo on the head, showing he was extremely pleased with the girl. From her reaction she had put the words together and understood them. That was perfect. She was ewll on her way to speaking fluently, and Lai couldn't help but feel good that he had help make that happen. The night was starting to get better.

"My. Aren't we getting a bit too somber with all this talk of fixing things? You speak as if you know what's really going on here. Wraith and Shee may look innocent and strong and righteous... but you don't want to go digging too deep into all that. I assure you you'll be disappointed. But enough of this boring, work-related talk!"

Eknephias began to laugh madly, even though he'd heard nothing funny. He had felt it would be a good time to laugh. "You are a man full of ironies, friend. You are part of an organization called LOTUS, in a building surrounded by blooms year-round, and yet you cling to the smell of ashes from the past?" Eknephias flung his arm around Einar's shoulders, and lowered his voice for effect.

"It's time we did something fun, rather than being the sad drunks in the corner. Don't you agree?"


Johannes (the only person Wraith surmised could swear quite so well in Spanish) was a sad sight. He'd come back with a glass of water in hand, and bent slightly to place the glass in Johannes's line of vision.

"Water generally helps. You should drink it." That noise he was making was grating. "And stop... whistling, or whatever it is you're doing."

He wondered if he could find Shee and pawn the man off on her.

Hyo nodded quickly. He wasn't entirely sure, but he thought that the kind spirit did understand his request.
And he agreed.

The boy smiled widely, and bowed to him, showing his gratitude towards the kind spirit. Oh, he had so much luck, so much luck that the kind spirit found him! What would he do without him? And now the kind spirit is even going to teach him engrish!
He was ready to do whatever is needed to communicate with the kind spirit in a language that he understands!
