Celeborn smiled at Donovan and led the man inside.
"Well ... Timaeus is a lot like both of his parents," he began thoughtfully, "though I'd say he looks more like Arthael, and acts more like Halmir. Not quite as crazy, but still rather chatty and ... Overall he's an amazing fighter, though no one would expect anything less from the product of his parents. It's an honour to fight with him, and I'm sure you'll see that quickly enough. Bronwe has been here since the beginning, but he's always on duty at night, which is probably why you haven't met him. We call him the Owl, he can see in the darkness better than you or I see in the daylight ... and the daylight just about blinds him, so if his appearance startles you .... don't take it personally."
He nodded and turned to the right. "We'll get him first," he said decisively.
Aliya grinned. "Any preference?" she asked. "I can make whatever you'd like, it wouldn't take long. Not that there's a rush, I suppose." She laughed and began to lead them towards the house.
Haradhel grinned and nodded. "Once the group is gone, then," she agreed. "I suppose you'll be wanting to see Donovan off ... give me a moment, I've got to get the bags of provisions for the men. They've actually forgotten them once before, that didn't turn out so well ... they had to come back for them and ended up wasting nearly two days because of it."

"Eggs!" Naida replied "They're yummy...."
And she tended to get it on herself unless they were scrambled or boiled, but that didn't matter. She thought they were good.
Feng giggled, "I guess that answers that question."
Since she nor Ryu ever showed a preference, whatever was best, it was all good. Especially at breakfast.
Kara finished tying Miyu's braid, looking up from her work, the children were already digging into their meals.
"Do you need any help? she inquired.

Chatty Donovan could deal with, had Timaeus been like Halmir that might have been another thing all together. Though he shouldn't have been surprised to hear about how he turned out, he had quite amazing role models to look up to.
"Agreed, explains why I haven't met Bronwe before," Donovan replied.

"I think even Lin has only met him once," Celeborn commented thoughtfully. "But I think that with recent events, it is best if we have the best possible night lookout. I've seen the man ride a horse while asleep, so we won't have to take turns either. He can watch the night through."
He led Donovan to a door nearly at the end of the corridor and knocked. "Bronwe? It's Celeborn ... it's time for us to leave ..."
Aliya laughed. "And we have fresh eggs for you today!" she giggled at Naida, reaching down and ruffling the girl's hair affectionately. "Come on inside, and I'll make us all a nice big omelet to share! Maybe we'll even wake up Amdir and the twins, they're being sleepyheads today."
Haradhel smiled and shook her head. "All of the preparations are done, I just have to take them outside," she assured her. "Unless you'd like to help carry them, there are quite a few of them this time ..."
"Considering how many people are going out this time?" Ahren asked from where he was sitting and eating his breakfast. "Obviously you couldn't do with any fewer. And I'll be helping you carry them, Mother, don't make our guest do any work."

"Can I help waking them up?" Naida asked eagerly.
She was good at waking people up granted it was just her mom and uncle and they were under water where she could move, but she would love to try anyways.
"Is Amdir still asleep?" Feng's eyes sparkled mischievously at the thought.
Even though she would not do anything to try and wake him up of course, that would be left to Aliya. The mermaid brushed a bit of hair behind her ears and giggled impishly.
"Well I'll be going out anyways to say good bye," Kara pointed out, "So it would not be too much trouble."
She didn't mind the very least.

Aliya laughed at Naida. "Perhaps your mother could take you to wake up Alyse," she winked. "Adwin will probably be up by now, and I'll be the one to wake up Amdir. You can ask her why they were out so late, I didn't even hear them come in."
She opened the door and held it for her friends.
Haradhel smiled. "Then you're welcome to help," she agreed. "You're pregnant ... you're not sick. Honestly, carrying a bag won't be the end of you."
"Still," Ahren shrugged. "On principle of the point."
He finished up his breakfast and grabbed six of the bags, heading towards the door before his mother could protest. "Come on, they'll be waiting for us by now I'm sure."
Haradhel rolled her eyes at her eldest son, then moved to pick up the two remaining bags - which did end up leaving none for Kara after all, but she wasn't going to make a big deal out of it.
"Come," she smiled at Kara.
The door opened in front of Celeborn and Donovan, and a tall cloaked figure appeared in the darkness. The cowl of his hood was down, showing his overly large eyes and black hair.
"Celeborn," he said crisply. "Donovan. Off we go, is it?" He reached behind himself and closed the door behind him, as if he had been expecting them at just that time. "Right."
Celeborn tried not to grin as he nudged Donovan after the eccentric elf.

"They were late?" Naida asked though it was a retorcial question, "Oh.... I'll ask that too!"
She grinned from ear to ear at the thought nearly bouncing as she watched her mother and uncle walk in.
"You enjoy waking people too much," Feng laughed softly tapping Naida gently on the nose.
Of course the act only made Naida giggle harder.
Kara had to laugh a bit as she petted Miyu on the head before getting up. She wasn't hungry, perhaps some hot water, ginger and a bit of sugar would do the trick, but nothing else at the moment. She followed Haradhel out giggling all the way, Ahren had certainly grown up.

Donovan glanced at Celeborn, though he couldn't help but smirk. This was going to be an interesting trip, but then again when wasn't it an interesting trip he wondered as he followed Bronwe to get the others.

Aliya laughed at Naida. "Go on then," she grinned. "You go ahead and wake Alyse, I'll get Amdir and then get breakfast started for us all."
She ushered them down the hall, but once they reached her and Amdir's bedroom she left them and headed in there instead.
Haradhel led Kara and Miyu outside, though Ahren was ahead of her, and once they were outside she looked around to see where everyone was. Elberon was ready with the cart and horses near the stable (along with a few other hands), and several of the fighters were there already.
As Bronwe headed outside, Sir Leith appeared from the opposite corridor and motioned to Celeborn and Donovan.
"You're late," he accused them, though a twinkle in his eye showed that he was making fun of them. "Come on, everyone else is already outside. We're the last ones now."

"Yay!" Naida grinned, "Come on Mommy let's go and help Alyse wake up!"
Feng's shoulders shook in laughter as she put a finger to her lips before taking Naida to Alyse's room. Her bare feet padded softly against the floor as she opened the door to the young woman's room. Then silently creeping in, so she could lean over the bed, so Naida could lean over her mother's arms.
She still couldn't reach, so Naida took one of her twisted braids that framed her face and tried using it to tickle Alyse's nose.
Scanning the faces Kara would have to admit to have only met a few of them several times during her stays and there was at least one or two she didn't know very well or knew at all.

Donovan recongized Sir Leith on sight... that was the thing about working with elves as adults they generally didn't change too much after several years... or a decade or two.
He chuckled as he headed towards the outside, "Right, let's not keep everyone waiting then.

The sunlight was streaming in Alyse's bedroom window and shining directly in her face, but she was still sleeping soundly despite that, her hair spilling over her bed and just about sparkling in the sunlight. She was lying on her stomach, her arms just about wrapped around her pillow, her face to one side - and as Naida tickled her nose, she wiggled her nose slightly. A moment later, she let out a tiny sneeze.
She reached up with one hand to rub her eyes, then peered up at Naida sleepily.
"Oh," she murmured softly. "You're here again ..."
She yawned and rolled onto her back, looking to see who else was there. She smiled faintly. "Good morning Feng ... Naida ... when did you get here?"
Haradhel followed Ahren over to the fighters and began to speak with them in elvish, checking to make sure they had everything they needed while Ahren passed out the bags.
Celeborn, Donovan and Sir Leith were just approaching from the barracks, and Celeborn and Sir Leith made their way straight to the horses and after grabbing a bag each they mounted along with the other fighters.
Bronwe had already mounted and was in the process of tying his horse loosely to the cart that Celeborn would be driving so that he could sleep through the day and not worry about being left behind or taking a wrong turn.

"We got here yesterday," Naida told Alyse, "But you weren't here... and you didn't come home till really really really," she took a deep breath, "really late last night. What were you doing that kept you out so late?"
She tilted her head at Alyse wanting to know the answer.
Kara made her way over to Donovan knowing it would be a while and of course to make sure he had everything and to wish him well. When he went off she always worried.

Donovan chuckled a bit, some things never changed, "Look after yourself, at least I don't have to tell the kids to be good."
Once that was settled which only took a few moments anyhow he continued walking. Making sure his bag was secured before mounting. It was time and a small part of Donovan was still glad to be going out.

Alyse giggled softly. "Research," she replied simply. She rubbed her eyes and sat up, smiling, then threw her blankets back and moved to get out of her bed. Only then was it clear just how much she had grown since the last time any of the Gaians had visited: nineteen years old now, she was easily as tall as her mother, which was well above average height for either of the races of the elves.
She yawned. "Let me get dressed and then Adwin and I can show you what we were doing, all right?"
As soon as the hunters were ready, Ahren headed back towards the house to get his own things for the day, but Haradhel waited patiently for Kara. She didn't want to rush her, after all: she was sending her husband off on a very dangerous journey, more dangerous than usual.
