A slight eye twitch occurred; Joker hated for his punchlines to get miscued like this. "I am the Joker. What's your name? And it would be impolite for you to not shake hands. Wouldn't want the readers to think you're rude, would you?"
(( That's right, Deadpool! You're not the only one with Fourth-Wall Perception! HA-HA! xp ))

Batgirl couldn't help but stifle a small giggle when she say the Joker's face when the red man rattled on about something. She could tell the Joker was trying to get a joke in but the red guy wasn't going to give him that pleasure, whether it was intentional or not.
((oooh snap Joker just broke the fourth wall!))

Joker could see within his periphery vision a figure of a Bat, but it was too small to be Batsy... had to be that newer Batgirl. He wondered whatever happened to the older one for a minute, then realized that she could ruin his whole gag. This was followed by the realization that he really didn't care either way, because if the new guy shook, it was gonna hurt him a LOT, and if she interrupted, he had a chance to kill another member of the Bat Brigade. He held his hand out a little farther, towards the stranger.

Deadpool shrugged, trying not to show his surprise. He had never met someone else who knew. EVER."Readers will think what readers will think," he said breezily, ignoring the extended hand, "Besides, their opinions aren't exactly reliable. Apparently, there are actually some people who like the Brand New Day story line. I mean, can anyone say 'Cheesetastic?'" Without waiting for a response, he gave Joker a thumbs up. "I knew that you could!"

Kara's super hearing picked up a terrified scream... the terrified scream of a small girl. Her head snapped automatically in that direction, and then she turned back to look at Lex, torn. If she really wanted to be honest, though, there wasn't anything to be torn about; she was Supergirl, and she had responsibilities. Glaring furiously at that all-too-familiar chrome dome, she hissed, "I'll see you in a minute, Lex." With that, she shot off toward the source of the scream.
Luckily, finding the problem did not prove to be particularly difficult. A few blocks away, a small girl was staring up at a monstrous figure all clothed in red. It seemed to be dripping blood... Great. "Hi!" Kara said, putting her hands on her hips as she dropped to float several meters above the ground, "I'm sorry to barge in like this, but all of the other cliched villains were busy. I'll make it fast." Her eyes were hard. "Get the hell away from the kid." She really wanted nothing more than to just go up and knock him into next week; he, or it, was wrong, wrong in a way that set her teeth on edge. Still, Kal-El was always talking about giving people the benefit of the doubt, and since she was his representative at the moment, she felt more obligated than usual to play by his rules.

Joker smiled at this, not a sadistic smile, but a genuine one. He was expecting confusion, but instead he got understanding. He suddenly like this new guy, and decided he could live. For now, at least. He retracted the hand.
"Whatever your name is, I think you and I are going to get along just fine..."

Deadpool smiled amiably. "What can I say? I'm a people person. Here's my card." With a flourish, he pulled out ... A joker. Flipping it away, he started digging through his pockets. "Oops! Well, originality is overrated, anyway." He pulled out another card, which listed him as 'Captain America (with a much cooler costume),' then another that said he was 'Definitely not Deadpool,' with the tag-line, 'The non-merc who literally has no mouth. Really.' Finally, he found his actual business card, but by that point, he had forgotten what he wanted it for. He passed it somewhat vaguely to the Joker, anyway, and then turned his attention back to the Penguin. "Hey, Beaky, weren't we going to go get some food?"

Joker took a look at the card, which simply read, 'Deadpool, The Merc With A Mouth', and saw why he gave himself that moniker: the man can certainly talk up a storm. He was also smiling about the Joker card Deadpool had originally pulled out. He found it flattering, in a strange way. He pocketed it in his outside jacket pocket, and said, "Food sounds like an excellent idea to me! How does Chinese sound?"

Batgirl pulled out her hearing enhancer to catch the Joker's last words, "How does Chinese sound?" What? she thought to herself stunned, I thought Joker was going to kill the red guy. She shook it off and continued watching the Joker and his 'friends' carefully. She could tell by the way the Joker changed his posture and tone that he knew Batgirl was there so she decided it'd be a smarter to stay away until he actually tried something that could hurt someone.

Deadpool beamed. He could actually see himself getting along with this clown. The closest he had ever gotten to that before was Cable... And let's face it; that wasn't very close, he thought dryly. "Perfect. Beaky's paying!" he replied happily. He didn't think that the already nervous little man would be contradicting him. Suddenly he paused, looking from the Joker, to the Penguin, then down at himself. "Maybe we should get takeout. Oh, and are we inviting her?" he asked, jerking his thumb in the direction of the little girl in the bat costume.

Joker thought about this carefully for all of about two seconds, then replied, "Only if she promises not to attack us." He leaned in and whispered, "She doesn't like me very much; I tried to kill her a couple of times."

Batgirl jumped. He knew she was there! She broke the one rule, she got caught. After she had a short debate with herself she lept from her bad hiding spot and faced the villains, "Why are you in Metropolis?" She demanded, her hand was on a pair of batarangs, just in case.

Deadpool opened his mouth to reply, but before he could manage, the topic of their discussion jumped right into the middle of it. Literally. Deadpool shifted into a shallow fighting stance automatically, his muscles relaxing into combat readiness. The little girl was pretty good. "Now, now," he said patronizingly, "You shouldn't interrupt. The grownups were talking." He turned to the Joker. "What is it with kids these days?" Looking back at the girl, he raised an eyebrow, though of course she couldn't see it. "To answer your question, we were talking about inviting you out for Chinese."

"Look, Batgirl, all I know is that the Joker has actually found someone who he really gets along with! This is insane! SQWAUK!" Penguin was scared of this; someone who can think along the same patterns as Joker was something he never expected to meet. One guy who thought like this was bad enough. Now there's TWO. "I'm leaving this to you, Batgirl! Good-bye!" With no time lost, he held his umbrella into the air and squeezed the handle. A pair of helicopter rotors shot out of the tip and immediately began spinning, thereby lifting Penguin off the ground, allowing him to fly away. "Writers... Readers... Whatever drugs they're on must be excellent, indeed!"

(( Awww... we scared him away with our Fourth-Wall Perception... LOL ))
"That's right, Batgirlie. And we just might do it as civilized gentlemen, too. You never know, it could happen." He looked up to see Penguin flying off and sais of it, "Never take him anywhere, he ALWAYS skips out on the check!"
