"'Thinking?' That's what Asher told me earlier," Shido commented, glancing back at the coon.

Asher almost replied to that, but he smirked faintly instead.

Shido grinned then turned back to Mull. "Oh good... it's one thing to study," in this case, under the tutelage of someone like Inari, "but I can't even try it to see if I'm doing it right." Well, perhaps he could, but it was not the same. What would a vampire know, unless he was still young and remembered what tasted good to people?

Mull shrugs slightly at the thinking statement, slowly eating the food on the tray in front of him. "Well, you did make this right. That's for sure." He says, a very small, barely noticeable smile flashing ever so briefly across his face before he went back to his previous expression. "You know... No matter what Zel said, you two don't have to stick around and mother hen me or anything." He mumbles softly, keeping his eyes on the tray before him. "I'm sure you both have better things to do with your time than take care of something like me."

Shido watched Mull carefully as his almost cheerful smile sink back to darkness. What would the hybrid think if Shido told him why he was here? Curiosity, fascination? 'I'm keeping an eye on you to make sure you don't kill anyone.' That would not go over well. But now that he was here and even after only a short time in his presence and knowing only part of his story, Shido could safely say no decisions made would be easy to make. There was no cut-and-dry, good-versus-evil scenario. Mull was complicated to say the very least, and anything that happened from now on would have a long list of consequences. And while none of these decisions had any bearing on himself directly, he nevertheless found himself reluctant to leave.

Staring at the hybrid unblinkingly and without discernable expression, the coon spoke quietly, "Earlier I said that I would stay the night. I have not changed my mind." His eyes shifted to Shido. "He is welcome to leave at any time."

How strange it must feel to have two vampires staring at oneself, Shido mused, after glancing briefly at the coon. "Aw, have I worn out my welcome already? People need about three meals per day, if I'm not mistaken. You need me here."

Mull blinks, looking up at the two, shock plain on his face at the two of them. He honestly couldn't fathom why anyone would want to stick around him, especially considering his personality problems. "Fine, since it seems you two are bound and determined to stay, and I'm really not in any condition to say otherwise." He carefully sets the tray on the table to his left, hands folded in his lap. "I'm used to only entertaining Zel, who merely speaks when he wants to, so, you'll have to forgive me if I'm not the best host." He sighs, leaning his head back against the pillow briefly, eyes half-closing.

"We couldn't possibly expect you to play host in your current condition," the unicorn said. "If you can stay awake for another hour I'd be surprised." More than that, he was surprised that Mull had not pressed Shido further. He really had no excuse to be here.

Shido approached the bed and reached for the tray. "Are you going to need anything else to eat?"

Asher watched the unicorn, tail curling subtly as he held his coffee. He thought Shido's reasoning for staying was shaky as well. "There is a library," he said quietly.

The unicorn glanced back at him, eyes widening a little. It was hard to say if this was because of an interest in the promise of books, or if he thought that he was being subtly dismissed by the coon. "I'll have to check it out then."

Mull raises his head slightly at that, raising one white eyebrow slightly. "If you think I'm bad now, you should have seen me when the incident first happened. I heal quickly, which is both a blessing and a curse. I'm healed enough to stay awake for a little bit longer, but not to actually get up and move around on my own. Legs're busted up pretty badly. That'll take a week, at least, to heal up, I think." He frowns, running a hand through his hair once again, whether in irritation or just because, one couldn't tell. He, of course, wasn't going to order either of them out of the room, since he doubted they'd listen to him anyway.

Again Shido's mismatched eyes widened. A week? "You don't say. That's an amazing healing ability you have there." He straightened, pulling the tray back with him. He added the two cooling cups of coffee to it. "Well, now I believe I will take this out and check out that library of yours," he said, eyes arching briefly along with a grin, before heading back out the door.

"About a week for your broken bones," the coon echoed the hybrid's words, arms crossed as he watched Mull carefully and waited to stand corrected. "That would leave you perhaps three additional weeks of peace from your other half." He left his statement at that. If Mull wanted to discuss it or not was entirely up to him.

Mull nods slightly at that. "That's also if I don't suffer any extreme bursts of emotion, mostly centered around pain. And if that b*****d doesn't show up again to cause more trouble. And he's the one element I obviously can't control, since he practically wiped the floor with me." He shifts his eyes over to Asher once again. "So... Did you mention the library intentionally to get him out of the room? If so, I'm assuming you wanted to talk about something in a more private manner?"

"We will have to hope he does not return anytime soon," Asher replied dryly, though he had little faith in that. There was little he could do to stop Aion if he did return. Whether Mull realized this or not remained to be seen.

"If nothing else, that library of yours will keep us from going completely insane with boredom," the vampire remarked. Sighing lightly he came to sit on the edge of the bed near Mull's feet. "Shido does not support my idea to split your two personalities. He thinks that alone your other half would be too dangerous. There is also the possibility that if you are still injured, or injured again, once the procedure occurs, that he will take your body over entirely. Shido did not mention this directly but it is possible."

Mull nods slightly at that, picking at a crease in the blankets around his waist. "I had thought of that as well... I know I'd be happier without that side of me, but as to whether that would be possible is an entirely different matter. Obviously, you know the one thing that'll put him into remission for awhile. Beating the ever lasting s**t out of me. I dunno if there's any other methods. Haven't really taken the time to test them out." He looks back up at Asher, giving a lop-sided smile. "I still dunno why you've taken such an interest in this, truth be told. I know you're stronger than me, so you could have and still could just take what you wanted and leave if you really wanted to. What's in it for you, to help me out with my problems?"

Other methods? A brow arched briefly before sliding into a frown. Mull had asked something similar not long ago and Asher still had nothing simple to answer with. He probably could supply a simple answer, but it would be only a fraction of the whys that would be equally true. "I have asked the same of myself many times over the past two nights." He glanced back at Mull but for only an instant made eye contact. "And I considered asking you that question as well. Besides what is obvious, what is it about you that would make me stay? What could you give me that no one else could?"

There was only one answer that would satisfy Asher and he was not the type to verbally express it because it was a conclusion that only Mull could come to. That is not to say that if Mull came to a different conclusion Asher would immediately leave. In fact, it was possible that Mull would never be the wiser, knowing only that there might be something wrong but never able to put his finger on it.

Mull blinks at the questions Asher asked in return, his mind drawing a blank on any answer of any sort that might be what the vampire was looking for. "Truth be told... I don't know. I have no ******** idea. I mean, being what you are, obviously, you don't need to have someone willing to get what you want... I suppose that me not flinching from your scars has anything to do with it either. We both have our own scars, mine are just not as bad as yours are. Although, obviously, you don't need to feel the need to hide yourself in my presence, simply because they don't bother me. To me, they don't detract from your good looks. But I'm sure that's not the answer you're looking for, either, so..." He gives a small shrug, one hand reaching up and fiddling with his collar in embarrassment. His face flushes slightly, turning his pale face a bright red in his embarrassment. He honestly didn't know what he could possibly offer Asher that the vampire couldn't just as easily find somewhere else. He knew he'd been a fool to allow his other side to even make the bargain that it had, but, he hadn't felt right keeping Tunda in the condition his darker self always ended up leaving the poor boy. In all honesty, Mull had been waiting to see if Karma would show up and snap him in the a** for what his darker side did to others. Perhaps this was Karma's way of getting back at him?

Asher had not necessarily intended for Mull to answer, in fact at least for now Mull could not possibly know. It was not Asher's intention to lead Mull around constantly guessing either, he just was not going to open up to the hybrid all at once.

One thing that could be said was that if it was anyone but Mull, he would not have believed him when he said that Asher's scars did not bother him. It was obvious that they did not, and the fact that they meant anything at all had been almost completely lost on Mull, as many things had.

Perhaps that was something. They were equally enigmatic to one another, almost beyond comprehension despite being superficially similar.

Or perhaps this karma thing Mull had mentioned was true, but not in the way he thought. Perhaps they deserved eachother, but not because they were wicked but because everyone needs someone to understand.

Asher was tempted to tell Mull exactly what it was he wanted. Instead he leaned back on his elbows, his pale-blue gaze seemingly mindless as it fell on the wall. "Perhaps now is not the time for such philosophical complexity. All you need to do right now is to focus on healing."

Mull frowns slightly at that, crossing his arms over his chest much like a child throwing a silent tantrum. He then laughs slightly, running a hand over his face before glancing over at Asher, his face turning red once more. "Um... I don't know any delicate way to say this so... I need to piss. Bad. I just need help into the bathroom. Once I'm set in that area, I can handle the rest myself." He murmurs, his face growing a brighter red by the second. Hell, he'd crawl or drag himself to the bathroom if needed.

(( X'D ))

Asher turned unblinking stare back on the hybrid. Several things ran through his mind at once, one reminding himself where the bathroom was, from the tour the previous night. The other, "Your legs are broken, are they not?" He had smoothly rolled off the bed to stand beside it and was now pulling aside the covers. Without another word, he scooped Mull up into his arms as easily as he had the night before. He glanced at him once before heading off toward the nearest bathroom.
