Nope. Deception is good for -Disguises -Lying -Creating a Diversion to Hide yourself or an item -Feinting in combat -Cheating -Creating a Cover story to make up for a bad lie -Innuendo
While Persuasion is good for -Changing someone's attitude about you -Haggling -Intimidating -Bribing people -Improvised communication

except i like skill, not luck, to survive. the only scoundrel tree which even moderately apeals to me is slicer.
