  "Oh Chini, what happened?" Mine' cried as she held her pet close.
"I was just hunting and then out of nowhere, this girl was chasing me and she almost got me! Oh, Mine' I was s-s-scared." crying

"Um...." Sabriel hesitated, not sure if dhe should be giving her name to a complete stranger, but when she glanced up, the girls.... Lee's.... eyes were persuasive. "Sabriel." She muttered, she grabbed the girl's hand, placing most of her weight on her right leg, not wanting to strain her knee. "So much for my offroad race." She mumbled, dissapointed.

"Well Sabriel," Lee said , smiling, "At least you weren't seirously hurt." She placed Sabriel's arm aorund her neck. "Now, let's get you back to town. Um... where do you live?"

Marcus followed the scent of blood to Lee. He slowed his speed to the normal walking pace of a human. "Lee? Are you there?" He peered past the trees and walked to Lee. "There you are."

"Oh Marcus!" Lee pretended to be startled by his sudden appearance. "I didn't know you were following me." She smiled. "Oh, Marcus, this is Sabriel. Sabriel, this is Marcus."

Marcus bowed. "It's a pleasure to meet you Sabriel." He than noticed that Sabriel's was slung over Lee's shoulder. "Is everythig ok?" He gestured to Sabriel.

"Oh, I see." He responded. "Here, let me help." Marcus walked to Lee and Sabriel. He grabbed Sabriel, "Hope you don't mind piggyback" and he gentally place her on his back. "Wrapped your arms around my neck and hold tight." He said. "Try not to choke me, though." He added to keep up the human surade.

Sabriel was nervous and for some reason, she felt terrified! She was running off with strangers she didn't know. She made an instantaneous desicion. "You know what...." She laughed nervously. "I think I can make it home by myself." She climbed off of Marcus' back and started limping back the way she'd come. Her ATV wasn't far off, but she wasn't sure she would be able to drive very far. Then she remembered the medical lady who lived down the street from her hotel. She limped unsteadily towards the break in the trees where she could see the yellow paint of her ATV. She could sense that Lee and Marcus were following her and she felt bad about not accepting their help. She decided to make up for her impoliteness. "Would you guys like to come see my race this weekend?"

Mine' raced ahead of Leo and followed Chini and found Lee and Marcus soon enough, but with someone else. Someone strange...someone...absolutely delicious.
The burn in Mine's throat that was content was suddenly ravenous.
"No! Mine' NO!" she could hear her pet warn, but she could already smell freshly laid blood...
Before reason could take over she began to black out.
