ooc;; I'll send Jasper's profile to Griffen today, then. :3 Also, I don't think Sand Cats can roar, so -does some quick research- ... Ahh, okay. Sand Cats bark, sort of like dogs, and they hiss and spit like domestic cats... It doesn't mention roaring, so I assume Sand Cats would be able to purr.

bic;; Sahari rose to her paws as the story finished and the short spell of magic-like awe and intrigue broke. She followed after Bianca, padding over to Daniel and curling her body around him. She was slightly chilled from sitting near the entrance to the den and the misty moisture that had soaked her pelt, but she settled down to wash herself thoroughly, and soon her body warmth had spread to Daniel. A black panther tottered towards her, nosing her underbelly fur before settled down to sleep. Sahari purred quietly, lulling the cubs into a deep sleep; she shot a glance towards Konya, wondering if she minded if her panther cub slept with the small Sand Cat for the night.

Zephre listened to the sounds of little bodies bedding down for the night, under the gentle supervision of their protectors. Sometimes he envied the den-watchers, being able to spend all of their time with the cubs. Once the last youngster had padded sleepily to the back of the den he rose and stretched and with a soft sigh, made his way back out into the night.
The rain had let up even more now and was merely a sprinkle, beading delicately into his ash-gray mane. The wind brought dry air to his nose, letting him know the storm would be out before dawn broke tomorrow.
The sounds of the outrider choosing had vanished long ago. Zephre suspected that it would be postponed until the next night as, during the day each member of the pride had duties to attend to.

((I await cub character Waveh.))

((i did some research and i found that panthers noises are chirps, peeps, whistles, purrs, screams, growls, and hisses. When frightened, kittens emit a series of short, high-pitched peeps. Kittens and mothers keep track of each other with whistles. i don't think they roar ninja ))

Konya saw Saharis unsure glance and smiled kindly to her showing she didn't mind that the cub was sleeping with her. She stretched alittle, the cub on and around her made it so she couldn't streatch out as much as she'd like to. She layed her head on her paws and closed her eyes again. She thought about going to sleep since she couldn't move anywhere.

Kiros, now tired of his scanning, found that there was no immediate danger. He continued to lay down in the spot where he was sitting. He breathed with a great sigh as he layed down. He rolled to his back and looked up at the sky, as the stars were out, and his tail swung back and forthe on the ground. He looked at them awstruck in there vastness. "Beautiful" He whispered slightly.

Armine couldn't help but chuckle to himself, Brindle was usually pretty straight forward for a leader. Which could be one of the things he liked about her, sure, he liked a good riddle now and then, but trying to decode some leaders' words were killer. "All is well, all is well. All of the herds are acting as predicted and are going about their usual business. It seems to be a good year for them, even better for us then." Armine replied as he slowly got up and walked over to them. The rain was usually a welcome thing to Armine, but any attempt at tracking would be hindered greatly for some time. The rain knocked many scents out of the air and cleansed the ground of presences and tracks. Armine loved it all the same, it made the hunt more challenging, and Armine just loved the rain.

ooc;; Cub-charrie on his way. :3 Also, I think I just made up a word there. -points to 'rhythmicatly'- XD

bic;; Sahari smiled at Konya, before turning her attention back to the cubs. She licked the small panther's head slowly, rhythmicatly, before grooming Daniel as well. Finally, with a last, wary glance towards the den-entrance, she settled down. She could hear the rain outside, its pounding dance now fading away to be replaced by deep, even breaths of the sleeping cats surrounding her. She herself rested, a sort of limbo between a true sleep and wakefulness.

Cirro felt Kiros shift beside him as the Puma-Panther cross rolled over. A soft murmur left the tom's maw, and Cirro's ear twitched. He glanced up as well, seeing the stars scattered across the deep, midnight-blue heavens, glittering down upon the felines serenely; he had to agree, it was truly beautiful. A last, fat raindrop fell from the clouds scurrying away, and landed in his eye. The Clouded Leopard jerked his head, blinking the bead of liquid-diamond out of his eye.

Kiros chuckled at Cirro's attack. He soon stopped himself after a bit, "I guess the rain doesn't like you much." He said as he chuckled a bit more rolling back and forth from side to side. He looked like he was having a seizure but in truth he was itching his back. "Dang itch, can't quite get it." He thought to himself as he wiggled like a snake on the ground.

((Sorry for being slow with posts. I usually am a slower poster, and I've been posting from work, which, apparently, they don't want us to do. sweatdrop So I may be posting less often. Oh, and let me know if I'm not supposed to find Raiden and I can change my post. >.>))

Thela nodded when Brindle said she would send her out to get the other outriders. She would do just that, letting her second get treated and some rest.

So as the others talked and heard stories, Thela ran through the ever lightening rain to inform other outriders of what happened. She kept her messages short, though the main message was that no choosing would happen tonight, and everyone should be on guard more so than usual. They would gather for a debriefing from Mahora later, where a better plan of action could take place.

She asked those who she met where she could find others who's location were not as apparent. One of the last outriders she came to was Raiden.

"Raiden," she called out. "There has been an attack, a murder." She paused before launching into the rest of her message.

ooc;; That's okay, Pan. :3 I don't think, once school starts again, I'll get on much either. ):

bic;; Cirro chuckled as well at Kiros's joke. "No, I think not," he agreed in a lquiet tone, turning to watch his fellow feline squirm like a demented snake among the grass. The Hunter gave another low chuckle, eyes darkened in the shadows.

((Yea same here for me, I don't know If I'll be on much the next couple days or not. A good friend of mine past away yesterday and yea.))

Kiros finally got the itch and then he relized that others were watching him. "What I had an itch on my back." He said kinda embarrassed asn he rolled back to all fours and stood up.

((Okay, I think that just about everybody has stated they will not be posting much within the next few days ^^, its good because I should be doing work anyway. Kakash, you take as much time as you need, and I'm sorry.))

Brindle chuckled at her subordinate's antics, looking up herself at the stars which peered bravely through the fleeing clouds.
"Excellent Armine, we'll hunt the western lands tomorrow then."
The tigress gazed around at the cats who lay about her, feeling a wave of peace wash over the worry of the night's events. Calyn was safe. That was a victory, but she would need to assign guards she concluded. Calyn would not like the idea but Brindle could think of no other way her second could hunt and remain protected.
She let out a sigh and lay down in the wet grass. After tonight, she had no wish to return to her cave.

Raiden listened with great interest and apparent shock.
"Another assassination?" He asked before Thela continued.
When she had finished the Liger got to his feet. He had been in a low cave, taking shelter like the others when Thela had found him.
"I am greatly distressed to hear of Mahora's injury. Do not worry, I will take two other outriders and we will run a full inspection. I shall deliver our findings to Mahora first thing tomorrow as it appears our noble second needs time to recover. Perhaps you should go and attend him? I am not sure he should be left alone with wounds as you have described."

ooc;; Kakash, I'm sorry. ):

bic;; The small panther cuddled close to the warm, sandy brown fur. His broad, velvety nose nuzzled the Den-Watcher's belly fur before he curled in on himself. He could feel Sahari's tongue rasping over his dark gray forehead, imagining the black spots shining clearly.

His tail twitched as the spots in his vision blurred together, pressing against the dark veil that hung behind his closed eyes. The spots now stretched out into long streaks, black on shadowy gray, forming figures that raced towards the pre-dawn horizon.

Jasper felt himself drop among the tall grass, watching the felines race away, and his wiry tail jumped. The young tom cub leapt to his feet and began racing after them, but before he got far a shadow slipped free from the darkness at the edge of his vision and tackle him to the ground. Jasper reacted quickly, rolling over and batting at his attacker with strong hind paws, claws gleaming.

Sahari opened one eye, a pale green slit against her dark brownish fur, and peered down at the tumble of black fur by her side. Jasper was nearly the same size as the Sand Cat now, large for his age of four months. She watched for a few seconds as he twitched in his sleep. "Sweet dreams, Jazzie," Sahari murmured softly, with an affectionate smile curling over her maw.

Armine nodded, taking a mental note that he would have to hunt in the westerlands the next day. That meant he would have to get some decent rest, the cold of the rain would likely make his old bones creak the whole night. "I'll be waiting then, please, don't leave without me." he added. He liked to sleep in, and it took him a bit to get active after he was awake. If one of the cats could get him up early enough, he would be ready by the time everyone else was. He lifted a fore paw and stretched out his claws and then curled them up until they cracked a little. Every healer that saw him do it was always yelling at him, but he couldn't help it. He felt funny if he didn't do it sometimes.

((thanks all for the sorries but these things happen I guess, as much as I don't want it to.))

Kiros sat back on his front legs and contiued to look up at the sky. His mind could not help but wonder back to the times when he lived in the forest. "Troubled times those were" he whispered to himself as he gazed at the stars and the blanket of night that was acrossed the sky. He then returned his attention to the surrounding cats. He watched the leadrs and elders convers and the young cubs and other cats laughing and enjoying themselves. Kiros held his reserve and kept quite dispite the show he had put on moments before. He watched them with vigilence, he felt that dispite not being a leader he had a responsiblity to protect the pride and all his friends within' it.

((My condolences, Kakash.))

"Yessir," Thela answered the Liger's question, and proceeded to explain the situation. Raiden then got to his feet and explained what he planned to do.

"Good. Several other outriders have paired to increase the patrols nearer the den tonight, but none have gone to investigate. I will let Mahora know." She trusted the older outrider's decision; not only did it make sense, it would be foolish of her to openly challenge the older cat. Obviously, he had seniority. Personally, Thela didn't always like him. Sometimes his attitude towards the younger in the pride was not pleasant. But his current suggestion was sound, and Thela was happy to agree, mostly because it would get her out of the rain (finally), and into a nice warm den.

She said her goodbyes, found the last few outriders that needed telling, and went back to where Mahora was. Thela decided not to comment on the green fur by the wound; Zephre's ointments were known for causing... interesting color side effects. It was good to know the second had been cared for. The jaguar shook off water away from others and went to sit by the second, grooming herself.
