Raphael's eyes had been leveled at the man's shoulder, staring hard as if only words meant anything to him, I will bring my Queen and quest for your daughter. Money is of no consequence to me." he said softly as the King walked by him, he turned to watch him go and closed his eyes.
Never had he been asked to willingly betray his kingdom... and now he was being ordered to be a key to his own Queen's execution. The only question that remained was: would he do it? The answer? Hell yes.
Raphael knew exactly where he stood, here in the Dark he was trusted by the King.. he was never trusted by the Queen and Guard in the Water Kingdom. He'd do anything for someone who place trust in him, including kill the Queen of his former allegiances.

Seilynn nodded and smiled a little at what Crystal said about her offer and followed the young girl as she started to lead the way out of the city. All the time, Seilynn looked around, making sure they weren't watched with suspicion. After all, with her dark coat, she could pass pretty much as anyone. She just wanted to be sure. As they finally made it out of the city, Seilynn couldn't help but let a small sigh of relief leave her. "Thank you so much for showing the way out." She smiled at crystal and started to walk along the road "Come on, this way." she said kindly as she removed the hood from her head again not looking back at the city. She wouldn't miss is, that she was sure of. Then a thought occurred to her and she turned to Crystal. "Won't someone get worried?" she asked as she looked at the girl. She had a feeling that the girl was younger than Seilynn thought. She just couldn't pinpoint her age.

Crystal hesitated only a moment as they passed through the gates of the dark kingdom's capitol. She was both excited and scared. She had absolutely no idea where this woman planned to go and yet when it came to the unknown Crystal found her pulse racing and her heart hammering in her chest. Not solely from fear but from the exhiliration of learning just a little bit more of the world and what this life was all about. Still technically being a child, there was much the girl still had to learn. However, she was sure that as long as she stuck by the side of this kind woman, she might just have the chance to discover all the things her curiosity desired.
"I'm coming." She said, hurrying to catch up to her new found companion. The excitement in her voice was barely contained, causing it to shake slightly. If not for the smile that briefly graced her small lips, one might have almost thought she was sad to be leaving the city behind. At the question, Crystal turned her teal eyes to her new friend with a puzzled look. "Worried? About what?" She seemed completely oblivious to the girl's concern that someone might wonder where young Crystal had gone. The only people who might have wondered were far too busy with their own children to give more than a fleeting chance of pity to the young girl's fate. Not out of cruelty but simply because they had so much on their own plates that they could hardly waste the time worrying about another child.

Seilynn smiled as she heard and saw Crystal's expression, figuring she found it somewhat exciting to be outside the city. Although her smile faded as she heard the child as what to worry about. "Isn't someone caring for you? Won't they be worried if you're gone too long?" she asked her with obvious concern in her voice. This child might be of the dark kingdom, but that didn't stop Seilynn from worry as Crystal still seemed to be just a child. Seilynn bent down slightly so she could look more directly into Crystals eyes, trying to read her again to understand this young girl as she waited for an answer.

Crystal didn't flinch or back away as Seilynn got a little closer. She could see where the girl was and tell how close she was, partially from the electrical currents running through her body and partially from that feeling one got when someone was close, usually considered sensing their aura. She blinked a few times, her face a calm expression voice of emotions, yet not seeming lifeless or cold. It was simply that blank look that came across anyone who simply wasn't feeling anything save for a sort of serene carelessness.
"Oh, there's no one worrying about me. I take care of myself." She said this is a rather confident and matter-of-fact voice, as if this were the norm. Poor Crystal, so young and more mature than her age usually seemed capable of, was still so naive and innocent to the ways of the world. She was oblivious to the fact that such a statement might cause alarm in another. She simply stood there, her eyes staring past the girl rather than at her. It was the first true sign she had given to her disability, since she couldn't tell exactly where she should be looking. While she could tell where a person stood, it was hard to see more than a sort of strangely shaped figure.

Seilynn blinked in shock and utter surprise as she was told Crystal had no one to care and worry about her. In Seilynn's eyes that was a sad thing. Growing up in the light kingdom, where many cruel but also very kind people lived, she had never, ever met anyone that had no one to care for them. The ones she knew were really orphans always had some sort of kind person to care for them. She then noticed another thing as she was this close to Crystals face now and in the same height as well. Crystal wasn't looking directly at her, it was more like she was staring at the distance, like someone who is daydreaming or lost in thought. "I'm sorry to hear that Crystal. You are, as I said before, very welcome to follow me if you want, as long as you want to." She said, not wanting to leave the young girl on her own now that she knew part of the truth. A small and very friendly uet not plastered smile was on Seilynn's lips. She easily felt sympathy for another if that's what they needed and wanted to help them if she could.
After a moment longer Seilynn finally straightened up again as she looked around. "Now let's see... I need to find the border to the Water Kingdom.." she mumbled and let out a small sigh as she tried to imagine the mad she had looked at before she was captured and put in the dungeon. She did not have a photographic memory though so that was a little harder. She slowly started to walk just to not stand like a fool a bit outside the city gates they just had left. She glanced back at Crystal every now and then to make sure the girl was still there.

Crystal flashed a rather innocent grin for a brief moment as, once again, she was offered the opportunity to stick with Seilynn. "I would very much appreciate that." She spoke with the best of manners, as if she were the young lady in some noble's house. Her smile disappeared as soon as she heard Seilynn pondering over how to get to the Water Kingdom. Being of the Fire Kingdom, Crystal had a natural distance towards anything to do with water. However, it wasn't the hatred most of her people thought but rather a sort of mild discomfort. Her eyes seemed to flicker with said emotion, which soon disappeared as she moved to follow Seilynn, keeping close so as not to get lost.
"You don't know the way?" She asked, thinking it odd that this girl was trying to find a place she likely had never been to before. Crystal would have loved to help, but there was nothing the girl could really do. She had only ever been to her own kingdom and this, the Dark Kingdom's capitol. "Perhaps if we walk along this road long enough, heading in the general direction, we will find someone who knows the way." She said in a slightly hopeful tone, thinking her suggestion might be enough help to Seilynn to make Crystal's presence more useful. If there was one thing the young girl hated, it was being a burden to another.

A message carried in the wind. The smell of burning wood.
Death Whispered.
A fair skinned woman stood at the edge of what would've once been a mighty forest. Her icy sapphire orbs stared on impassively while a warm wind blew at her long silver touched blue hair. She wore a plain oriental top and pants combination and around her coiled the mighty form of a dragon. The creature's icy eyes stared intensely at the burning nightmare as if waiting for a command from the woman. Her lips moved but not a sound was heard. Nevertheless, in an instant, the dragon slipped away and spiralled into the air before seeming to dive down towards the flame and lose its form. A strong bust of air wrapped around the woods, quenching the fire and where the woman had stood there was no one anymore.
Celia sped through the woods, riding on the wind. Her hair trailed behind her as she manoeuvred through the ashen trees, her body lithe and soundless. In her path the fire died, their fuel being stripped and drowned. Messages screamed by in the wind and surely enough, soon she began to hear the crackle and clashes of fighting at the source of the fire. No longer extinguishing the flames, Celia sailed high into the sky and plunged back down into the camouflage of the trees that stood defiant with life. Nobody even noticed. The scents of the air mixed, blood and rotting corpses. Five scents stood stung in the wind.
Celia scanned the battle fields, eyes trained hard within the shadows. A dark woman she sensed but could not see. An earthen fighter raging against a destroyer. A lone woman and a knorthian girl at the side of a water-user. Five strong souls in a clash of wills. The air stunk of death. Barely before she had finished her assessment, the fire woman twitched and spun around, snapping her fingers and sending a spark of flame straight for Celia. The leaves lit alight and burned, a figure shout out of the tree and took refuge in another. Keen senses that one, or maybe she had sensed her intent on attacking the prince.
She had received an anonymous request, paid in advance, cash in full. She would not refuse such a generous offer and the quarry had proved its worth. "Your target is the Young Prince of the Fire Kingdom. Do what you do best." An unusual note, but the price she had received had seen to her questions. What a sight to stumble upon, travelling in the wake of the young prince only to discover that perhaps she would not even be able to fulfil her task? She had been spared no more time in her newest hiding place when yet another flame shot at Celia and this time she darted out on the foliage, only to disappear in a gust of wind?
As Anae turned around, looking for the woman who she had sensed was an unexplained threat to Ferros, she turned barely in time to spot a pointed dart aiming straight for her before she snapped her fingers and it burned to a crisp. Unluckily for Anae, if she'd ever and when she'd discovered that the dart had only been a decoy, a sword stuck out, stabbed through her belly in her carelessness. Although the sword had been inscribed with the insignia of the men that Ferros had taken with him, the wielder stood to be Celia. Finally appearing in front of Anae, the mercenary woman offered a bow and flashed an unfeeling smile. "My apologies for your stomach. You see, you were not my target and surely enough you seem unsuited for war. Perhaps you may sleep comfortably without needing to see your heir slaughtered." Celia made no effort to move as a flaming ball of fire came flying towards her. Barely inches from her face, the fire extinguished of it's own accord and unable to hold her own, Anae collapsed.
A stomach wound was fatal after all. "It's too bad you have the misfortune of interfering with my job. Perhaps you'd have lived... no, what am I saying? Ridiculous. And look what you've done, now that woman's gone off and killed my target. Tsk. And I don't even have a return address for that request. Nevermind.." Shaking her head, Celia almost turned to walk off. What was the point in staying in longer if she was no longer needed? That was, of course, unless anybody stopped her.

Seilynn chuckled lightly at the young girl's question and rubbed the back of her head, almost a little embarrassed. "Well.. You see.. I know the way, but not from this kingdom. To be honest, I've never been in the dark kingdom before." she confessed. She figured that she didn't have to lie to Crystal but neither did she have to tell the whole truth about herself. "If I had tried to find the way from my home, then I would have no problem.. but being here, the map in my head is messed up.." she sighed and glanced at Crystal. "That's a very good suggestion, Crystal. I think we'll go with that at least until we can come up with something better." Seilynn turned her eyes forward again and strolled along the road, hoping they would meet someone soon. She really wanted to find her way out of the Dark kingdom.
~¤ ¤ ¤~ Keyla looked up from the last fire soldier she had killed. It was awfully easy to fight those soldiers once she had blocked the flow of their element through their body. She saw a woman, just about to walk away from that female fire user she had seen earlier. Keyla glanced at Shane before she took off. She was a fast runner so she caught up behind the woman soon enough. "W-wait.." she said and panted lightly. She had never fought likeshe had today in her entire life, and she knew there would be more to come. "Wait.. Who are you?" she asked, curious at this woman, who seemed completely calm despite the heat of the battle, as if there was nothing that could ever hurt her or even touch her. Keyla slowly straightened from her slightly bent position and took a deep breath before breathing normal again, still waiting for the woman to answer her.

Shane watched as the woman dressed in oriental garments came down from the trees and dispatched the fire woman. A small sigh of relief came from his breath. He nodded to Keyla when she glanced at him before she ran over to the mysterious woman. Looking to the dried up lake, Shane called upon the clouds. Rainwater began to fill the lake and he walked over to fill his flask. With the elimination of the fire soldiers, it was time for some rest. He walked over to Alaura. She was covered in blood, but surprisingly most of it was not her own, and she was short of breath. He stood ready, as she seemed like she was about to fall over. "You've saved this forest. Perhaps you should rest considering the tolls on you from two different battles so close together. Tomorrow we can determine the best course of action, but for tonight... you need to rest."

}~{ I decided a post from Alaura was more important....just pretend this happened before Shane got there, then I will work into Shane's approach. ^_^ }~{
The thorns, as Alaura had predicted, pierced through this fire weilder's defenses. Even his terrifying flames were no match for a woman of the woods. A master he mave have been considered, but Alaura had the furry of thousands on her side. A ferocious presence seemed to linger about her, and even the forest seemed to bend away from her. She was a thing of beauty and terror, a hurricane of vicious proportions that would not back down until its full force had been unleashed. Daring what most would have shied away from, Alaura stepped closer to the blistering heat of this man in flames.
The leaves ceased and the thorns subsided, but their damage had been done. The man before her now knelt on the ground, glaring up in defiance of his opponent. His body was not listening to his commands and even his flames seemed to be dying down. It was not weakness that forced back the fires but his own frustration, blocking his control of the element. Now grin swept across those rosey lips as the triumphant woman stopped mere feet from the prince.
"You who have destroyed that which you could never own. You who have claimed countless lives of the innocent. You who sought to destroy a power greater than your own. You have been judged by those unbiased and found guilty of crimes that cannot be overlooked. You burned down a forest simply because it housed those you hated. For that the penalty is highest. Your life shall be forfeit for the lives you have taken." Her words seemed not her own though they moved through her lips. They seemed so surreal, as if housed by the voices of many, not simply one. The words rang over the forest which suddenly seemed so silent, as if all eyes were watching the scene unfold.
Then, without hesitation and without a second thought, Alaura lifted her huge sword, the silver of the blade gleaming with malice. The decision was finite and though Alaura seemed often to try and avoid the death of another, even of her enemy, there was no escaping what she had to do. Prince he might have been, but he had dared to tread where none other had gone, and now he was paying the price. A furry of swings in a flawless, clean motion rendered the body before her completely limp. Eyes of furry went wide in astonishment as the man finally realized he had been beaten. Then the life was gone and the bloody masacre before Alaura went limp.
In the aftermath of the battle Alaura remained still. Her blade's tip only just touching the ground before her, red lines crossing like vines over the once clean weapon. Blood had spattered over her clothing, yet she seemed completely unaware of this fact. She stood there, motionless and still with that eerie glow about her, but only for a few more minutes. Then the glow faded and her body slumped forward, almost toppling over the lifeless prince. Her weight fell on her sword, much as it had in days prior when she had been forced to use the last of her strength. Her body ached, yet somehow it was not as bad as it should have been. The energy used had not been merely her own but that of the whole forest, which now seemed quiet as if in long deserved slumber.
Eyes of emerald, bright and still as piercing as ever, moved to stare at the man from the Water Kingdom as he approached. He looked as steady as ever, seemingly unwavered by the death around him. Alaura watched him in silence, looking at him as if seeing through eyes not her own. She felt detached from the world for that moment, as if she didn't truly belong but was merely an observer in the lives of others. However, one look at the body before her would clearly state otherwise.
A sigh escaped her lips as her eyes finally dropped, her body sagging with fatigue. She wanted to object, already they had wasted far too much precious time in these woods, hiding away when they should have been gathering the army needed to march against the darkness of the Dark Kingdom's lord. However, her body agreed with Shane and she was forced to oblige. She struggled to her full height, pushing with her sword until she was standing up once more, using the bloodsoaked weapon as a cane. "I suppose you are right." Was all she said, her tone darker than ever it had been before.
It was clear that the battle from which she had just emerged had taken a greater toll on her than just the physical. There was something far deeper and far more troubling about it all, something about herself she had discovered and was terrified to admit to. Her own emotions had traveled through the forest, moving along her ever present link with the living organisms around her. It had influenced them as they had her, and through that link she had been capable of such terrible things. It was not out of necessity that she had killed the prince, but out of hatred and desire. She had never known she was capable of such cruelty, and the reality of it truly scared her. Without another word to the man whom she had come to believe a true friend, she turned and headed towards a tree. She would sleep on the ground that night, she needed no comforts, for the forest around her was her home. Her mind needed the fresh air to clear out the malice of the battle that still shook her to her core.

}~{ And now for something completely different. XD }~{
A deep rumbling errupted through the streets of the dark city that housed Adel, the lord of the Dark Kingdom. Something zipped through the sky, its large, dark figure so high up that it appeared to be no more than an oddly shaped bird. However, those within the city below knew that strange form to be something far larger, and far more terrifying. The roar that soon pierced the sky sent many running to hide. However, one unknowing figure chose to remain oblivious. The sky was growing dark as night approached, and it seemed this young boy was tired from a day of hard training. He had taken to the streets for a leisurely walk, but he had no idea of what now approached him.
The figure in the sky seemed to grow larger, when in fact it was simply descending. Larger and larger it grew as its circling pattern brought it closer to the ground and incidently the boy. The beast, of course, had spotted its prey from far above, those beady, malicious eyes with their keen gaze locking on like a hawk to its prey. Now the game had begun, and the leathery wings rippled in the winds as Fear descended. The boy, having heard the roar, looked up in curiosity. His eyes soon broke with terror as he recognized the foul form of Nicki's creature. He had met the demonic woman and had seen her beast's fury first hand. He knew that regardless of his new allegiance, his life would not be spared by the merciless creature.
The boy broke into a run, his feet hammering the paved streets as he flew past closed doors, trying to find his way through the maze and back to the home he had started out from. In his fright he became lost, or so he thought. In truth he was very close to Nicolai's home, but he got no closer than perhaps a few doors away when Fear finally came crashing into the streets. The ground rumbled with the weight of his landing, his huge body only just fitting into the street. He folded his wings and all three head turned so that three pairs of eyes now gazed in hunger at the small boy.
Shaking in fear, Acario was completely unable to move, a common reaction when faced with such a ferocious beast. Each jaw opened, salivia dripping from long fangs as they slowly moved forward. It seemed as if all three heads were now grinning, their joy at finally feeding on the small earth boy was almost overwhelming. No command would stop them now. The only one who could have stopped them was miles away, not that she would have in any case.
The boy finally managed to find his voice, stammering out a pitiful plea that fell on deaf ears. Fear was too far gone, too hungry to bother listening. The cry broke as, in movement unheard of in such a large beast, all three heads snaked out on long necks and fed like the beast Fear was. Not even the bones were spared as the place where once the boy had been now remained empty.
A rather familiar chuckle errupted from the shadows and all three head, dripping small portions of blood, turned with a sort of vicious gleam in their eye. This was unlike the look given to the now devoured boy. One might have almost called it more loving, if love could be seen in the twisted bond shared between beast and master. Thus the dark woman known as Nicki stepped from the shadows, having returned from her little trip. The power within the group she had been observing was greater than she had imagined, but they also had the weakness of emotions. Somehow she would find a way to use this to her advantage.
She reached out a hand, sliding long, slender fingers over the scales of Fear's flank. "Ah, my precious pet, I see you finally did us both a favour and rid us of that retched boy. The stench of good still clung to him, that and his former master's power. Had she ever claimed him back we might have had a bit of a problem. Let Nicolai morn his pupils loss. Shall we go and give him the wonderful news?" Her grin was almost more vicious than ever before, a look that could easily send chills down the spines of even the strongest and bravest of men.
Fear let out his usual rumble of agreement, though he took flight to free himself of the cramped street while Nicki walked along in her smug manner. She walked straight up to Nicolai's door, rapping her knuckles on the wooden door. She stood there, hands crossed over her chest and that coy grin firmly over her lips as she awaited an answer.

As the clouds came to wash the flames away, two figures ran for their sanity, leaving behind horrors they never thought could exist. They had heard the sound of battling and, though it sounded to be over, that seemed to be the best place to find their way. As they came into a burned section of the forest near a lake, they saw four exausted travelers leaving behind a charred battlefield of bodies. Evan noticed that the fallen were wearing the symbol of the Fire Kingdom, which led him to believe that the travelers were of good intent.

Celia whistled a quiet tune, although the tune was sooner carried awat by the wind than heard directly around her own proximity. Her hair fluttered lightly behind her and she walked with a lithe grace, as if she were floating rather than making any contact with the bloodsoaked dirt. She contemplated about what to do with her payment, after all, she had not successfully completed her task but the man was dead nonetheless. So, that should satisfy her anonymous requester... right? Or would she have any morsel of regret spending money that was not good and willfully earne-... No, what on earth was she spluttering on about? Money from death was not clean money. Ridiculous, and she had no qualms about it.
"W-wait.."
Barely even twitching, Celia had continued to walk on as if she had heard nothing. "Wait.." Again, not even a falter in her step. When the woman had caught up to her, however, and inquired "Who are you?" Celia stilled her steps and turned, waiting for the woman to regain her breath. She stared on with those ever cool eyes of hers and only when the girl straighten up did Celia say anything. This was the girl from earlier, the Knorthian child. In spite of the two being, she suspected, the same age, to the air user she by far considered her a child still. "Don't you think you should tell me who YOU are before expecting anything from me. That's awfully rude you know, expecting me to yield to a complete stranger."
It was an amusing sight to watch her squirm just a little bit.
After the girl's stammering attempt to recity her actions, Celia offered a mocking smile. "I apologise for interfering in your fight, I'd come to complete a task requested of me. If that's all you're after, then I request if you would now let ME go." Celia turned again and began to walk off. Taking three steps, Celia turned suddenly and let three darts fly in unison. Though they fly straight at the blue haired girl, in a panic she ducked and the pointed tips dug straight into an archer several feet away. A groan resonated and he fell out of the tree with a thud, dropping his bow and arrow. Flickering her glance back to the girl, a Celia smiled that same infuriating mocking smile again. "I suggest you be careful and watch your back. Not all of these soldiers may be dispatched as you thought they were." And with a chuckle, she turned again, to wonder off.
Where? Wherever the wind lead her.
