I nod, grateful that this meeting was obviously coming to a close. I glance around me and spot a small notepad on one of the end tables near the couches. Moving over there, I scribble down my cell phone number and name. "If it has to do with the carnival you can call me at any time. I'm going to be looking for a place to stay next. When I find one, I'll let you know." I tell her as I pass her the note.

Taking the note from him, Franky nods. Folding the small paper in half, she beckons to Kendal. "If you would show Mr. Slade here the way back to the club." Franky murmurs to her, brushing her fingers lightly down the feline's arm. "Then instruct him how to get to Letum." Glancing back at Slade, she informs him "Hotel Letum is just down the street. The owner is very observant of his guest's privacy. I would recommend you try there for accommodations."

Reaching a hand out to him, she gives his hand a parting squeeze, not shake, then moves passed him towards the door. She pauses momentarily as Urban opens it for her, giving him a nod to follow her, then deads into the hallway towards the elevator.

“Let’s try a whole painting, just this once.” Chahna replied, wagging a playful finger. Besides, she always felt safe within the Muse’s protective walls. Nothing wrong would ever happen, right?

A faintly wicked smile curved Thorne's dark-coloured lips as she heard the reply, and she offered a faint nod as she unhooked the heels of her boots from their perch and slid from the stool. Moving briskly to the panel in the wall beside her elaborate mirrors, Thorne unhooked the securing latches for the "table" that folded down beside her vanity, a well-known object to all of her "victims" subjected to inkings and paintings that covered more than just simple areas. Patting the soft, leather-enshrouded surface of the "Altar" with a gloved hand, slanted emerald eyes shifted to Chahna as she settled back onto her stool, pulling out her colour palatte that was usually used for the more Oriental-styled paintings.

"We'll go ahead and start with the paintings on the back of ya, beginning at the feet so that they'll be dry by the time we need you to move. So... ," she murmured, her expression taking on an angellic mock-innocent look as she reached out, tracing the hem of Chahna's robe with the end of one of her brushes, "...if you'll go ahead and move that to somewhere that gives me access to your entire back, and lay down on the Altar, we'll get started."

Silvery-coloured eyes watched Slade for a long moment as the Mistress made her way out the door, before Urban's gaze shifted to Kendal and offered her a faint nod. Then, in a flare of his cassock-like coat, Urban turned and made his way quickly out the door behind the Mistress, closing the door behind him. The soft jingle and clatter of his various metal adornments on his attire marked his quick steps as he caught up to the Mistress, a deft hand reaching past her and keying the elevator.

"So what do you think of all this?" Franky asks Urban as she moves into the elevator." She watches the elevator doors slide closed, her eyes idly trailing over the plush dark red fabric lining the walls and ebony trim accents.

"So what do you think of all this?"

Urban offered no immediate answer as he slid his ID into the panel by the door, giving the security system something to occupy itself while he thought. After a long moment, he absently slid his glasses up from the tip of his nose with a single long finger, disguising the troubled look that appeared in his silvery eyes.

"What do I think, Mistress? Well... if he's serious, I think we need to get some extra security here. Mayfly's a good roving attack dog, but... she's somewhat like a guided rocket: Good for hitting her target, but useless for the more subtle stuff. Maybe we should look into actually getting a magic-user or two on the staff, or asking about a demon-hunter. Y'know, one of those specialists." Here, Urban offeres a faint shrug, his features turning floorward as he continues to think... he knows that their security is top-rated, for a building like this, but finding a spellcaster of the kind of calibre that the Mistress would accept would be hard... and finding one they could also trust on any sort of short notice would be impossible.

Sighing softly, Franky tilts her head as she considers the possibilities. "I certainly wouldn't mind a proficient magic user on staff. We certainly have enough psionically inclined personnel to level a small village.." Her eyes narrow as she tries to recall the magically savvy denzins of Berlin. "Spread the word amongst the staff. Kendal has that mob-boss boyfriend who delves into the mystic arts, perhaps others have made friends with skills we desire." Turning her attention back to Urban, "I think we should contact the Reverend."

As the Mistress and Urban head out of the room, Kendal places Franky's wine glass on the desk. Once they are gone, she moves over to Slade, her expression faintly peaved. "Oh let's just skip the bullshyt pleasantries, shall we?" she mimics his voice with a healthy batch of sarcasm. Picking up a small decorative pillow from the couch, she thwacks him in the arm with it. "Smartass." Tossing the pillow back, she turns to start towards the door, only to pause halfway there and spin around to face him again. "Oh, and what was up with the 'freaks and monsters' bit huh?" Advancing upon him now, she points a finger at him accusingly. "You wish you had a girl that was a freak like me." She pokes at his chest several times, each poke accentuating those last few words.

Her tail twitching beneath her skirt in irriation, she turns away again for the door. She doesn't wait for him to follow, instead simply disappears into the hallway.

I blink a couple of times, really surprised at the feline's flare and the pillow that pegs me. As she pokes me and tells me what an a*****e I am, I take a better look at the girl. I had been slowly getting to know her over the last week, but it was always in The Muse setting while she was working. That happy, flirty waitress attitude she gives everyone. I had never seen her mad before. She's actually pretty damn cute when she's pissed off. I think to myself, hiding my smile.

I jog to catch up to her as she high-tails it out the door. Catching up to her, I find myself in the awkward position of trying to find something to say that will prove I'm not a total jerk. "I er.. didn't mean it in a bad way." I attempt to explain. "You told me not to try anything funny with her. I was just being honest."

Sliding an ID cardkey through the elevator keypad, Kendal acts as if she can not hear him. Even as he attempts to apologise she continues to ignore him. She folds her arms against her chest and taps a foot impatiently until the elevator doors slide open. Slipping inside, she makes a point not to look at Slade as he joins her. Instead, she leans back against the wall and waits for the doors to close again.

Great, the silent treatment.
I think to myself, joining her in the elevator. Standing up against the back wall, I bang my head back against it a couple of times, not hard enough to make noise, just to get out some frustration. Think. I tell myself. What do I know about Kendal? Hot, flirtatious, vain. Maybe if I appeal to her vanity? Crossing my hands in front of my waist, I intertwine my fingers and lean a little in her direction.

"I don't know." I shift in place, feeling as awkward as I sound. "Maybe it's hard for a guy like me to admit that I'm pretty damn curious just how freaky a girl like you could get."

Arms still folded and crossed against her chest, Kendal's ear twitches at the comment. As if she is weighing in the pros and cons of forgiving you in her mind, she tilts her head just slightly to the right, her elongated cainines lightly chewing on her lip. Determined not to give in just yet, she doesn't turn to look at you as she talks to you. Keeping her gaze forward, the slightly petulant look still gracing her features, she finally speaks. "Really?" she questions, her voice quiet but still vaguely defiant, like your answer won't make a difference to her either way.

I glance at down at her. The way she chews on her lip tells me that she is mulling over whether to forgive me or not. I think back on the last week and all of our interactions together. It is my first time at the capital of New Berlin and she has been pretty good to me. I notice the look of petulance on her face and I can't help but smirk. Even that looks good on her.

"Really." I tell her quietly, complete honesty in my voice.

Emily Kane-Living Doll

Emily couldn't resist, everything seemed so unknown, yet, it made sense. Finally, she found herself in the crowd of people. Her movements different then theirs, but fitting perfectly. Each person seemed a corresponding shape to the next. Her movements were jerky, stiff, the music leading her into it. She shoved the confusion of emotions from her mind. None of them made sense anyways. All she felt was the music pulsating through her body, the people surrounding her, adn the absence of Maria's memory. The last pleasing her the most.
