Mattias saw a shadow flicker in his poriferal (sp?) vision. He stared into the dark window of an abandoned warehouse. That's interesting...that warehouse has been abandoned for years. Who could be up there? Matt took a sweeping glance to his left and right before crossing the street from the wall of by the docks, and entered a narrow alley. Here, he jumped on a pile of boxes and lifted himself up into a window adjacent to the building. Walking through the piles of dust he climbed the rickety stairs to the second floor and to the shattered remains of an ornate carved window. There, he leaped out to a window slightly below the one he had just been standing in and caught the sill and pulled himself in. His body, lithe-like, melted into the shadows so that none could see him, a trick he was quite proud of as he stalked through the warehouse in search of anyone.

Ashe heard movement in the warehouse. She slipped into the shadows that where near her window and listed for more movement and breathing. Was I spotted? Or is it the man from earlier? she asked herself. She slowed her breathing and pulled out one of her two daggers, holding it at the ready. Then she settled herself to wait, watch, and listen for the newcomer.

Mattias stumbled around in the dark. Twice he bumbed his knee on a table or chair. He kept trying to remember a simple 'see-in-the-dark spell'. The words were on the tip of his ton-ouch! He had bumped his knee a final time against something sharp and almost cried out in pain. He almost didn't hear the swish of metal in the air. Uh-oh...not good. Mattias wasn't sure if he heard correctly, so he decided to listen more closely. Then he remembered the spell, the words came a little slowly but finally he spoke it well enough for its effect to take place. In his eyes he saw neither night or day, darkness or light, he saw everything in grey hues. He looked around, but saw nobody. I was sure someone was up here...
Markus was inside, slumbering in his house. His eyes shut, his nightmares coming back to him vividly. He was in front of a large castle, the gates closing before he could enter. He was shivering in the cold night rain... He awoke with a start, sweat dripping down his brow. Why do I have that same nightmare? he thought bitterly before looking out the window. The sun had not yet set, so it was not his time for watch outside yet, and he settled back to sleep.

Ashe heard the person fumble around, banging into the discarded creates and barrels. Not to far from the window I entered from. I'm safe if he doesn't make his way over here. She looked around, her eyes had gotten use to the dark, and saw the him. A boy. What's he doing in a place like this? She moved silently further into the shadows and waited.

Com'on Matt, you've done this a thousand times. You can do this... Matthew was getting spooked, he had been in dark warehouses, watched people killed and seen all sorts of appalling deeds in this city. However, he was never the one about to be killed in these events. Maybe it's no one. Yeah that's it, no one at all is in here. Just seeing things. Mattias sighed, not knowing if this was true but hoping for it. He decided to go back outside, but after unsuccessfully doing so realized he that he could not find his way back. So he pulled up the hood on his robe and trecked forth into the warehouse looking for the light of a window or crack of a doorframe.

Riley got pretty bored of watching, and decided against breaking on to the ship. Mainly because it was in broad daylight. So he went back to the hotel room, dropping down to the small balcony that jutted out from under the window, and leaned against the railing. He continued to observe the ship, as well as other smaller vessels entering the dock area. Maybe if he got too bored, he could go steal the dock records, see if she was listed.

Ashe could see that the boy was freaking out. She sighed and place the dagger back, he couldn't cause her any problems. She got up and moved back to the window, one of the few places that allowed light into the warehouse. She stood silently, watching both the boy and the ship.

Matt was about to walk through some crates when he saw movement in his poriferal vision. He looked to see a person standing by the window. Mattias took a couple steps back, about to unsheathe a short sword he carried, before he realized it was a woman who was standing there. Mattias gulped down his panic and took a breath before speaking, "Um..hello? What are you doing up here? This...isn't a very nice place for a wo-..person." He had almost said woman but decided he didn't want to offend her. Mattias, with his spell still in effect, could see the woman clearly, noticing she looked almost like a boy with her short hair. He also noticed two daggers she had sheathed on her body and felt his nose twitch, which it usually did at the sign of trouble. He kept his hand from his sword, to look as least threatening as possible.

Ezekiel's eyes shot open at the thump and subtle vibrations caused by the man dropping to the balcony in the next room over. He let out a frustrated growl and sat up looking over his shoulder to the door leading to the balcony. Looking back to his equipment he let out a sigh, he picked up his jacket and hooded vest and put his finger through the various holes. "I need new clothes" he mumbled as he picked up his black wool shirt and slid it over his head. He kicked the jacket and vest into the empty fire place and finished dressing himself leaving his backpack on the floor. He made his way to the balcony his feet dragging some what sleepily as he went. He yawned and stretched looking around at the streets he'd wandered the previous night before looking over to the next balcony. He quickly attempted to size up who he assumed to be the source of the noise that had woke him before taking a look to the line of the roof. His face contorted somewhat as he analyzed the situation.
What business would this person have being on a roof, especially one out here? There's nothing to see but boats and more roofs exactly like this one.
He decided it would be best to ask a simple question or two and go back to sleep provided he didn't find anything too suspicious.
"Excuse me sir, were you just on the roof?"

Ashe looked over at the boy and saw that his hands hovered over his sword. "You can remove your hand from your sword. The daggers are mainly for self protection." She then look back at the ship. "If it's not a nice place for a person, then why are you here?" She asked. Her eyes moved over the ship and the docks below. The ship was still devoid of people. Sighing she turned her head back at the boy and cocked an eyebrow. "Well?"

Riley turned to look at the man beside him. "Yeah, I was. I rather enjoy the sea air." he told him, leaning against the railing. He focused on the man, trying to guess his intentions. He didn't seem to be a guard or anything of that sort, but still, Riley didn't trust him yet. He felt the cold blade of his knife up his coat sleeve, and only needed a moments notice to have it out.

Mattias thought for a moment, "Well when you grow up in poverty in a place like this," he motioned to the city outside the window, "you have less things to fear. However, I'm up here because I saw you come up here and was curious as to who it was." Matthew lowered his hand away from his short sword, still a little tense but calmer than before. He then narrowed his eyes a bit and coughed to gain her full attention, noticing her gaze flickering to the window that he couldn't see out of to the streets from his vantage point, "So why are you up here?."

Ezekiel furrowed his brow slightly at hearing the response before looking back to the roof. He'd heard of travelers going to great lengths to enjoy the ambience of the places they visited, but those types usually preferred more rugged places of rest than port town inns. He shook his head and looked back at him.
"Kind of a stretch just to enjoy the breeze. Don't you think? I mean most people would go for a walk down by the docks or hitch a ride to the nearest beach but you, you climb onto a roof overlooking the entire port, just to enjoy the breeze."
He looked down and scanned the streets for any signs of the port authorities before looking back to him.
"Is that really a good idea considering the amount of thieves running around the roof tops? I mean someone might misconstrue you as one of them."
