.ll Arriving At The Event ==> Beach Bar ll.

Josh stared apathetically out of the widow of his truck. His eyes seemed to waver to a particularly intriguing yellow splotch… he could only assume it was the aged remains of one very unlucky butterfly. Though it was the only thing saving him from boredom at the moment.

‘HOOONK!!!’

He jumped with a start as a horn blared at his truck’s slightly swerving path. Threatening to tread into the opposing lane. The boy jerked the truck back into a straight path in his own lane and picked up on his quest of the scanning the horizon… making sure no wayward kids flung themselves in front of the pathetic hunk of metal he called a vehicle. For heaven’s sake it was already dented and scared enough! He was glad that his father had managed to salvage the thing from a junkyard. However, the man could have at least spared enough sense to get him something with a seatbelt!

Josh sighed as he pulled into the scenic lot of sand he could only guess was the improvised parking lot. Giving the fact that there were already a good number of cars speckling the small open plain. He parked in one of the opened spaces and hopped ungracefully from his truck. The battered metal gave a shrill creak in protest as Josh made his leave, as if asking the boy why he had doomed the truck to live a few more inelegant years instead of offering it a timely demise. ..Or it was just an old jalopy squealing over the fact it was about a century past its prime. The boy swung an orange sports backpack over his shoulder and slammed his door securely shut. As securely as it could get, the pile of mechanics and ruined leather seating lacked locks…

Josh plodded onto the beach with a grin plastered on his face. This was undoubtedly one of the better events the Lab had hosted, in his humble opinion. The boy could feel it in his sports junky bones. The event had everything a person like himself could ask for; Sun, waves, and physical activity! Josh treaded over the sand at lightning speed; like an predator in hot pursuit of a rather delicious morsel. However, it was less because of his excitement and more for the fact that it felt like molten earth under his bare toes. The boy made a large mental note to put on his sandals later.

Josh pattered under a covered area to seek refuge from the searing sun and nipping sand. Only momentarily though. Once he had put on his sunscreen and sandals, Josh could be considered a titan of Summertime fun. Nothing could get between him and pure rapture during this event. He pulled out said articles from his bag and in a sense… ‘prepared for the battle ahead’.

He was in he middle of covering his shoulders with a generous portion of greasy lotion before he noticed a man struggling with what appeared to be… a kite? Josh finished rubbing the last small signs of sunscreen into his skin and slipped on his sandals. He approached the man and cooed to him in a subtle yet bouncy tenor, “You seem to be having a bit of trouble there… I think I could help?” Josh crouched behind him with a smirk adorning his lips.

With a grumble, Isi paused after finally making it to beach front. He sighed, breathing in the salty sea air and he closed his grey eyes for a moment to feel the breath of the sea. It was nice here. He almost wished that he were only here with his family, Aphi, Riv and Eiry. Perhaps the ten million pets they had in their home could come too. But to just lay here on the beach and enjoy the atmosphere, the wind and sound...

"Hey Isi!" Eiry piped, destroying Isi's sudden tranquility with a push and a shove, and then floating straight though Isi so he could turn around and face him face to face.

Isi shuddered wildly as his raevan ghosted through him and he snapped open his grey eyes to glare at his ward, "What?! What is it?! And would you stop going through me?" he glanced down to his exposed arms and balefully inspected the goosebumps now crawling on his skin, "I don't like feeling as if I was struck with a subzero wind, got it?"

"I see Alex...And Chloe!" Eiry informed his guardian, floating a little higher with the beat of his ethereal wings. He had been surveying the area for innocent bystanders...Um...No. He was looking for familiar faces when he spotted them lounging on the sand near the beach. "Say 'hi', we should," Eiry urged. He hoped to ditch Isi there and wander off to do as he pleased. "Can we? Can we?"

"Yes, yes, we can, come on, Eiry," Isi urged as he started on his way towards them. It took a little time for Isi to traverse the sand, but at least he hadn't fallen yet. His legs were still relatively strong this early in the day. When they started getting closer, Eiry floated forward excitedly, waving his arms and calling for their attention. Isi couldn't help himself and he started too, "Chloe! Alex! Hey!"

((Beach Bar Buffet / Sand N' Stuff))

Roux gave a sulky look in Mouse's direction before bringing the glass to his lips once more. He paused before taking a wary sip... last time she'd given him something it was good, so... He gave a small snort of surprise into the drink. He glowered down at the glass, eyes shifting between Mouse and his cup. It was fizzy... he wasn't sure if he felt betrayed at the unexpected surprise or pleased.

"Hm... okay. I guess." He tried not to let Mouse see him take another tentative sip. It was refreshing, and the ice made it very cool. He decided Club Soda was alright, but not better than Ice Tea. He would accept the gift Mouse had given him.

Irritation piked as he began hearing his name called. He looked up, glowering at the crowd until he saw the owner to one of the voices... he thought she'd sounded familiar. He raised a single hand, holding his glass in the other, to wave at Aki. If Aki was here that meant... but he didn't see anything pink. In fact... there was a completely different Raeven floating beside Aki, one he didn't recognize.

Chloe looked up, a bit surprised, as she heard someone calling her name. A smile spread across her lips as she saw Eiry and Isi coming closer, raising her hand high above her head and waving to them both. "A-Ah! Isi! Eiry!"

{{ Beach Bar /// From the Beach Bar to the Sand N' Stuff }}

User ImageZayne twitched every few moments. His skin was pale enough that it shone blindingly in the sun. Further more, he had only peach fuzz on his chest that didn't even show up; it just made him feel even more self-conscious seeing as the most hair he could grow was like a 7 year old's. He wore dark red board shorts that stopped at the knees and had a pattern of black flowers at the site, flip flops, which he usually never wore, both of which he had to buy specifically for the event, since he never went swimming when it wasn't job related.
He looked over at Damien and smiled amusingly at the kid's response. But, in less
Zayne now felt extremely awkward and cursed to himself as to why he let Damien make him promise not to wear a shirt until after they had gone in the water. But, since they had come all the way to the beach anyways and the bag of clothes was left in the car, he adjusted his sun glasses and sighed in decision to make the best out of what was to come. He strode up to a guy with long black hair who was wearing beige board shorts that were decorated with patches of blue, and introduced himself, slightly stumbling over his words at first, and then finding his voice. "H-Hello, my name is Zayne, nice day out, isn't it?" He offered out his hand to the stranger and smiled.

Damien had never been to the beach before. His eyes widened in amazement and his mouth made an "o". "WOOOOW!!!!" He squealed, not referring to the popular game, World of Warcraft. "What an amazing place!" Within seconds he was off running, and nearly tackled the nearest person- a brunette feeding some snacks to a dragon- in a small cloud of sand.
"Hi!! This is my first time at the beach! This place is so cool! How about you? Is this your first time here?" The first few things he said were fast and excited, but as he started calming down in speech, his words got clearer and more comprehensible. His excitement still glinted in his eyes and he awaited a response, unabashed at his attire of black -almost girl length- board shorts that had a patch/pocket on the bum, brown flip flops, and goggles that he positioned on his head, which didn't quite look like swim-goggles. His tattoo-mark also stood out against his bare, tannish skin and he also had sun block that slightly tinted his skin somewhat blue-ish in some areas.

(( Sand n Stuff ))

Alex laughed in agreement with Chloe. "Raevans are composed of...well, certain things," she explained partially. "Roux happens to be inclined towards ice." Truthfully, she didn't know what made up the Sigel, but she knew from the coldness he had conjured on the first meeting, it had to be of an icy nature. Or winter. They went hand in hand, in her mind.

She dropped her sandals and sunglasses near Chloe's things, absently tracing her fingers over the scar on her ribs, glancing to the side at something flailing. Her face lit similarly as it had when she'd first seen the secretary as her eyes found Eiry, as well as a happy-looking Isi. "It's our boys," she said playfully to Chloe, turning to jog towards them, mindful that her sarong only parted over her left leg.

"Hello loves!" Alex greeted the two, stooping down to plant a kiss on Isi's head. It was habit, and had stuck with her for all her years; it would be a difficult one to break. "Eiry! I don't think we've got to properly talk for more than a second. Good to see you!" Looking to Isi, her smile softened into something warmer, accompanying them the rest of the way to the group of friends that was gathering. "How are you, Isi?"

What in the blazes was THAT? Lorenzo stared at the green flailing thing by his owner, his new cookie still hanging halfway out of his mouth. It looked different, but he was sure he'd seen it before. If it didn't have a memory of sweets tied to it, the Gwee's memory did get a little fuzzy. He crawled from one side of Rai's shoulder to the other, cocking his head to the side and nearly losing his treat as another newcomer nearly bowled them over. Clutching his cookie between his front paws, he squawked indignantly, fluttering between Rai and Chloe with his weary eyes on Damien.

Tony was still somewhat distracted as she sat her own towel on the sand, kneeling down and flattening it out blindly as she was still looking at the Raevans in the distance. As she flattened out her towel, she clumsily fell forward, glasses sliding to the end of her nose. She huffed a little, pushing them back up, and sat back on her legs.

Finally she drew her attention away from the Raevans as she was introduced by Ani. "Pleasure." She said politely to Kale, smiling.

"I've never heard of...these creatures...or even of science and magic being used together like that. It's unbelievable. Do you really suppose it's real? Remarkable..." She said, to both her friend and new acquaintance. Her gaze had already focused on the Raevans again, as she groped around blindly in her bag for sunscreen. It was so hot, so bright, she wasn't used to this. But it felt nice on her pale skin which hardly saw the sunlight.

"What? Oh... yes." The latest orders were given to the customers as Mouse answered the question she has been given. As Josh arrived, she tried looking over and around the people in the bar to see if it was anyone familiar, but her shortness thwarted her efforts yet again. She would have to try flagging him down later on when she felt like she could leave her post at the beach bar and see how the rest of the party was unfolding.

She turned her green eyes back on the Raevan and gave a friendly laugh. Something told her he'd like that drink, it was worth having to pay for it out of her own pocket to see Roux trying something new.

Dayo continued drifting aimlessly over the sand, pausing a moment to observe a man that was thinner and paler than her guardian working with something that was half-wrapped in cloth. Something else caught her attention, however, before she decided to approach the necromancer and his kite: a small group of happy people a bit farther away.

A chance gust of wind propelled her off course a bit and she giggled a little at the feeling and how it made her hair fan out in so many directions. She took a moment to comb it back into relative place with her claws before making her way closer to the pink-haired girl she recognized, and another new Raevan that was composed of muted shades of green with a touch of red.

"Yeh, that's the problem..." Ani squinted over at the bar, trying to see if the bartender that was meant to be heading it was there yet, but from the distance they were at it was far too shady beneath the cover, and she could barely even see the vibrant green Mouse. "Let alone we've got no clue what he looks like, or even if it's a he. Oh well. Lots of people are showing up, maybe he'll introduce himself or something."

All through out the conversation Ani kept stealing glances at Ekundayo and the other Raevans dotting the area. She did a short double take, squinting yet again and putting a hand over her forehead to make it a little easier to see. Some one new had approached the bar, and... was... that Josh? From the elevator?! It was too hard to tell for sure, but with already having seen the boy shirtless it was a little easier to be sure of herself on thinking so. Still, she would have to make sure later.

Ani once again directed her attention onto her friend and aquaintance, tightening her grip a little on Tango's leash, but he didn't seem to mind too much. He had already lapped up all of the water in his miniature dish and had layed over on his side, keeping his head on Ani's white towel to avoid getting sand in his mouth or eyes as he panted away in the heat.

Though she did not make eye contact with Aki, Lucretia smiled at her words nonetheless. "Milkshake party," she repeated slowly. "Sounds like fun."

The Ice Rose's dark eyes widened a little as she peered at Roux. Though he was still a stranger, she felt some degree of familiarity - Lucretia chalked it up to his coloring. "Roux," she called, not wanting to shout but still loud enough to try to draw his attention. She drifted towards him slowly, like a party balloon caught in an invisible eddy of air, and reached out behind her as she moved to beckon for Aki to follow.

In the meantime, Kumoru had moved to the sand just outside the beach bar to finish assembling his kite - a multi-colored delta-shaped kite a good six feet wide. The necromancer had the thing flat on the sand for the moment as he attached the control lines.

When it was ready, he picked the kite up and held onto it in spite of the wind's attempts to pull it from his hands. Glancing around at anyone in the area who looked free at the moment, Kumoru called out, "May I have a hand launching this?"

"I-it is a he. . ." said Kale stretching a bit. Glancing over at Tony his face turned more quizzical as he stared. "Um d-do you need help?" Tony was looking for something and Kale had no clue to what it was. Stretching the restless muscles he moved around again to sit himself comfortably until a voice echoed into his ear. . .

"May I have a hand launching this?"

Intrigued he turned and stood up glancing at the person that said it. Biding farewell to Ani and Tango, and their friend Tony he made his way over to Kumoru. Simply ignoring the question he had just asked Tony. "I-if you'd like I c-could try to help?" He asked shifting nervously on his feet. His nerves tightened as he asked the complete stranger and his heart pounded.

((Beach Bar))

Taking the chilled drink gratefully, Niksia dug out her wallet from her skirt pocket and slid a couple bills back across the bar. She sipped the liquid so that it caused goosebumps down her pale bare arms.

'Ah... Thank you!' It felt wonderful, the sand had been attempting to get the better of her.

Wandering slightly from the bar cover, Niksia squinted in the light bathing the sand. There were various activities she recalled hearing about during her little 'nap' and she would investigate them. After she finished her drink, obviously.

Taking another sip she glanced down and avoided tripping over the growing contraption and its owner nearby. A bit of drink spilled over her hand and she shook her glove to dry it as she eyed the massive kite.

'Umm... You look like you're going to take off with that thing.' She noticed someone answering the question of helping to launch the huge kite and waved faintly at him.

Completely overwhelmed by the kindness that was Alex's greeting, Isi couldn't help himself but blush as a kiss was planted firmly on his head. It seemed to be becoming reoccurring thing that always happened with older women that happened to be at these parties. First, Natsuki and now Alex! They both had planted kisses on Isi's head. For a few moments, Isi puzzled over this and wondered what was it about him that encouraged these women to do that.

Gaining his composure, Isi fought away the blush from his freckled cheeks and tried his best to answer all her questions as he was guided over to where Chloe was lying on the beach towel. "Um, yes, hello Alex. You're very happy today, I see...Um, me? I'm better than before. How's the beach so far?"

Eiry, completely happy that Isi was getting absorbed by feminine tenderness, pulled a large cheshire smile onto his face for Alex and Chloe. "Halloa, Alex! Hihihi Mum! (He meant Chloe) Nice to see you too," he said, cleverly working the charm and polite greetings that Isi had programmed into him. However, he was suddenly distracted as a new raevan, one that he hadn't seen before, made her way over to them. He tilted his head at her and waited.

Josh sat back as his offer went unanswered. Nevertheless, the man seemed have built up a steady pace with the kite and the unruly mass of string and cloth tumbled into the tidy form of a rather majestic kite. When Kumoru looked up lively auburn met vivid blue. Josh piped up again, “I guess I’ll be happy to help you launch that behemoth then… never mind. Maybe another time.” The boy chuckle lightly trying to hide the fact that he was a tad intimidated by the kite. Most people would, considering it stretched well past his own height. Plus, the man seemed to have a team of able people already at his heels to get a chance to assist him. Josh stepped out of the sand again and made his way back to the bar. He plopped down on a clattering seat clumsily and awaited anyone who would like to strike up a sudden and enthralling conversation. Josh felt needy for an exchange of words.

"Sure, thank you," the mage said to the stranger who had offered to help. "My name is Kumoru, by the way," he added with a small bow that looked a bit out of place from a man in swim trunks and flip flops. "If you'd like, once I get it in the air, you can try flying it, too." There was the ever-present risk that the kite would crash on the sand, but it was a fairly sturdy kite. That, and Kumoru decided that, out of practice as he was, there was not likely to be any greater risk of that from any of the other guests than there was from himself.

"I haven't done this in a while, but I figured this beach would be the best place to fly it," he went on, offering the other person the kite. Then the mage cautioned, "Careful, the wind will try to pull it out of your hands." As he said this, he glanced over at Niksia, who had spoken up about him taking off with the thing, and laughed a little.

Kumoru smiled at the attention his old kite had attracted, and dearly hoped that he would be able to perform at least a few of the tricks he learned back in school without messing up the kite in front of an audience.
