(( Need me to come down there and whack you with a frying pan? Those are quite effective provided the blow doesn't kill you. ^^ And perhaps tonight I'll stay up to keep you company. Then again I probably would have last night since I would have stayed up had I not laid down. ))
"Hm ... We all have enemies and that shouldn't prevent you from having friends because friends watch eachother's backs and drive their enemies back. That's how the hunters here work, it's pretty much an unwritten code though there are a few loners out there that're fine being isolated from the rest of us. However, help's always there if they need it or if anyone needs it. And hearts are good, they give you purpose and maybe they make you a softie but they also make you happier in the long run." She then hugged him close and nuzzled her cheek against his own as if she were a little girl with her favourite toy though this was profoundly more loving than a little girl and her toy. There was an unsaid message in her touch that promised she would always protect him and stand by him no matter what.

Veroen smiled at her statement. He knew now what the meaning of friendship and love was, but back then he had no intention of finding out. It made his job easier. He looked at her for a moment, before deciding to ask her something.
"Care to go for a stroll? It's a habit of mine to not stay in the same place for too long." he said thoughtfully. It was true, he hardly ever stayed in the same place for too long. This was the longest he had been in his apartment since he had come here.

"Since I've become a hunter I've learnt how to get restless pretty easily so you took the words right out of my mouth, believe it or not. Where were you thinking of strolling? Just through the streets? Through the park? I guess even the cemetary is pretty peaceful for the most part and they have really nice pathways for you to walk down even though it's technically there so you can visit dead people. However, I think it's a nice place to walk even though everyone gets that spine-tingling feeling from it every once in a while." She'd propped up and was already rearing to go, looking back to him over her shoulder for confirmation as to their destination.

Veroen was already at the door before she could fully turn around. With a smile he replied, "A stroll through Central Park on the way to the graveyard sounds nice."

Meredith smiled and sprinted over to him and slammed her hands down on his shoulders and pushed herself up into the air as if to do a leap frog but she remained as stiff as a board instead of trying to jump over him. She then wrapped her arms around his neck and captured his lips with her own but pulled away too fast for him to react with a mischeivous smile on her face. "Alrighty, lets go." She zipped out the door before he had a chance to, laughing as she ran down the hall, already slamming down the stairs and making her way toward the park though she knew full well that he'd catch her.

It had been quite some time since Veroen had even been in his own room. He had almost forgotten that it had burned down, and that he had it refurnished into an elegant living quarters, just for Meredith, back when she was still human. Now, it had been un-used, and look uninhabited. Dust covered most of his belongings, and cobwebs were now abundant in almost every corner of the apartment.
However, these thoughts were at the very bottom of his concerns.
Black shadow appeared in the middle of his bedroom in the shape of a small sphere, about the size of a quarter. For a few seconds it stayed the same size, rotating on its own axis. Then, it suddenly grew about seven times its size, and shifted into a thick, fog-like state, and continued to grow. After a grand total of about 9 seconds, the manifested shadow quickly dissipated into the figure of Veroen, and Meredith.
Veroen was now immediately standing in the middle of his room, as well as Meredith.
Using his small connection to the Void usually took all of Veroen's energy. That, mixed with the fact that UV liquid was spreading into his veins, was bad.
Veroen coughed, and stumbled froward, towards his bathroom, clutching his right shoulder, which was an open gunshot wound, and was leaking UV liquid. It was beginning to spread throughout his Vampiric nervous system. He got to the bathroom, coughing continuously, and vomited blood into the toilet.
'Damnit...' he thought to himself.
His body began to ache with searing pain, as the UV liquid continued to spread through his veins.
He uneasily stood back up, still hunched over, and still clutching his right shoulder. He stumbled out of the bathroom, and back into his bedroom, where Eden stood. That was the last thing he saw, before darkness took him, and he blacked out, crumbling onto the floor in immense pain.

The last time Meredith had been in this room she had, indeed been human and it had been with Veroen. Since then she had not taken a single step within this room since Veroen had been away for a long time, which she still needed to ask him about. However, she didn't figure that he'd been hoarding himself up in his room all the time in which he'd been gone without saying anything so she hadn't bothered to drop by the place. Of course right now that was probably the last thing concerning her seeing as Veroen had been stupid enough to take a UV bullet for her when she was a lycan and he was a vampire. Who the hell in their right mind would do that?! She was able to take UV bullets as easily as she could take a lead bullet but he'd insisted on protecting her even at the expense of himself when it would cost him so much more than it would have her. "WHY THE F--K WOULD YOU DO THAT?! WHAT THE HELL'S WRONG WITH YOU?! I'M A LYCAN, UV IS NOTHING TO ME BUT YOU DECIDED TO TAKE THAT BULLET! WHAT THE F--K?!" It was clear that she was yelling out of concern but her yelling really wasn't accomplishing anything other than likely worsening the situation.
She remained on the bed as Veroen made his way to the bathroom, covering his shoulder and hiding from view just how bad his wound had been. As she sat there the hunter leader could hear him purging some liquid, which she could only assume was blood, into the toilet and that was when she decided to get up and go check on him. However, as she'd been getting up Veroen had stumbled out of the doorway looking absolutely horrific and that was when he'd began to crumble to the ground. Of course, Meredith chose to exploit her amazing agility and speed and caught the vampire before he could hit the ground. It wasn't often she chose to exert her lycan abilities since she tried to keep them under check but this was different and out of view of the public. She cradled Veroen and though she was panicking as to his condition she kept calm and decided that the best course of action would be to take him to haven where Gail, the medic she trusted more than any other would be able to look after him and assure that he recovered. "Don't worry, Veroen ..." She whispered through tears as she pressed her cheek tenderly to his, "You're gonna be alright. I'm here. Stay strong for me ..."

The shadow of Veroen's bed became darker than what it should have been. Then a small piece of the bed shaped shadow broke off, and moved to the center of Veroen's apartment. The shadow then flattened even more so, and shaped itself into a circle, and became thicker as it got taller, becoming a tall, black cylinder about 7' tall.
Then the dark form of Veroen stepped out of the dark cylinder, and he led Edith out of the cylinder as well.
Veroen looked around, noticing that everything was still covered in dust and cobwebs. Not very fitting for the current situation.
With a flick of Veroen's hand, a wave of dark energy spread through the room at a high speed, like a strong wave of fast wind, knocking every molecule of dust, and cobwebs off of everything in the room. immediately after, Veroen then closed his hand as it was still outstretched, and a small orb of the void appeared in front of him in the air, and it sucked all of the now airborne dust and cobwebs into it, disappearing into the void. Veroen, now satisfied, lowered his arm, and the orb disappeared with a subtle rush of wind. This left the room nice and clean.
Veroen then turned and smiled at Edith.
"Alright, that's much better. We may continue our conversation here."
He then sat on the king sized bed, and looked up at Edith, waiting for her to sit down as well.

Edith could only observe in awe with her jaw dropped at the new found capabilities the void had granted Veroen. Who would have thought he would have honed his abilities so quickly? It was as if he'd become accustomed to the void within the single day that he'd been gone. Perhaps his reason for avoiding her had been because he'd wanted that time alone in order to sort things out as he clearly had. She wasn't sure but that wasn't her main concern at the moment anyhow. She was anxious to know what his course of action would be since she was concerned that Veroen was potentially in a lot of danger at the moment, exposed to the likes of the coven. "So as I was asking ... What is your course of action going to be in regards to your affairs with the coven? You were way too upset to form a proper decision but you seem much more level headed now and I'm wondering because I want to know so I can worry a little less."
She took a seat on the bed beside him and proceeded to untie her steel toed combat boots and kicked them off after unlacing them. After setting those to the ground she set her legs on the bed and laid the back of her head on Veroen's lap, gazing up at him with her hazel eyes. It was clear that she was concerned and confused as to what had happened and that she wanted a few answers but she was taking things in short strides. Hell, she still hadn't been able to ask him where he'd disappeared to the last time he'd been gone for months on end. Finally they'd managed to nab some alone time together and while it was comforting to be in the midst of Veroen she was still highly stressed about his position with the coven now. She'd told him time and time again that he was welcome to join the hunters so she wouldn't open her trap again to suggest that for the ten thousandth time since he knew full well the offer was there if ever he chose to take it.

Veroen chuckled at her statement as she kicked off her boots and laid on the bed, resting her head on his lap.
"Ah yes. The Coven..." he said, now deep in thought as he looked down into her hazel eyes with his two, opposite looking eyes.
"Well, I will be hunted by them soon, I can assure you. However, I can tell you that I will be fine for the next couple of days. It takes time for the coven to make any decisions. They do not like to make mistakes, nor do they make hasty decisions. They know I am a valuable asset to their ranks as an Assassin and Intel gatherer. But, they are also ruthless. It will not be long before they come looking for me. I can guarantee you that they will kill me on sight. Apparently, those three bouncers i neutralized at Las Noches died from my attacks. My anger indeed had gotten the best of me."
He said this without any concern visible on his face.
"As for my next course of action, I do not quite know what I shall do..."
He studied Edith's face for any reaction to his words as he spoke. He deeply considered joining the ranks of the hunters, but Veroen felt like he needed to go solo for a bit before he made any major decisions.
"Honestly, love, I think i may fly solo for a while before I decide to join the Hunters. I have much soul searching to do. Many things have changed for me in the past day than you could imagine..."
He glanced around for a minute, knowing that within the next few days he would have to move everything out, which would be easy since he was now one with the Void.

"If you're on your own for the next couple of days you have to promise that you're going to lie low and make sure you're not making any huge scenes that are going to attract the coven to you. I know you of all people probably know how to keep a low profile but don't get too cocky or anything about hiding from a coven of vampires that are good at holding grudges. I mean look at how long they've managed to stay pissed at the friggin' lycans. Six centuries? That's a long time to hold onto angry sentiments if you ask me. Anyhow, I just want to make sure you stay safe. I love you and I don't know what the hell I would do if I lost you again." Her hazel eyes were completely serious as she stared up at him and she even fished for one of his hands and held it tight against her cheek, nuzzling it as she did so. "I love you," she stated to him tenderly, small tears brimming at the corners of her eyes.
"Also," she decided to ask as she began fiddling with his hand, rubbing it from time to time and splaying his fingers, tapping the nails, trivial things like that, "when you say soul searching ... does that have anything to do with us? I mean ... do you think that it's gonna affect us at all or ... I just ... I don't wanna f--k this up for my sixth time, you know? Like I really care about you and you've just done so much for me and it really hurts when you just disappear and stuff without telling me. Can you please promise me that the next time you're going to leave that you'll tell me where you're going first? And better yet, on top of that it'd be nice if you could stick around here for a while whether or not you were planning to disappear or not for this soul searching journey thing. I mean, I don't know exactly what you mean by it. Are you just going to self-examine yourself or what do you mean when you say soul-searching?"

Veroen smiled down at her tenderly as she spoke he first line of words.
"I love you too Edith. And no need to worry. I have become...wiser... since you have last seen me. I will know when it is good to stay low, and when it is good to be in public. And besides..." He stood up suddenly, and walked forward a few feet, and turned around to face her. "...I have the vast knowledge of the Void." And with this sentence, he lifted his hand up to his side, and snapped his fingers, and the exact second he snapped his fingers, his current clothing dissolved into shadow, and would have revealed him to be naked, but instead the dissolving clothing reformed itself from his waist down to his feet into soft velvet black pajama pants.
He softly smiled, now that she could see everything about him that had changed. The markings of the Void covered him from head to toe, save for his face and forehead.
He then spoke once more.
"No, this does not mean that i feel any different about you. I still love you, and always will."
He stood there and smiled at her with a soft expression that looked odd with his body covered in black markings that looked like odd tribal tattoos, and his new eye that was completely black save for the crimson iris in the middle.
