It's an attempt at German, yes. The correct German would be something along the lines of "Hallo, ich komt aus Deutschland" or something like that.

Ein klein bit, jah.

It was either that or french, but there weren't enough people for the french team, so we were all forced to do german. I got a B- in it for my exam. And I suck at it.

That, and I have family in Germany.

ever since I got into high school these were my language choices

Spanish
French
German
ASL (AMerican Sign Language, I know a little bit of the signS)
and Russian and so I am taking Russian

edit: our teacher forced the level 1 students out (me and my friend)

I know what you mean, Shram. When I was in england earlier this year, I had a hard time adjusting to their keyboards. I was used to the different signs being in other places than they are on th english keyboard, not to mention I couldn't write properly when e-mailing my family in Denmark.

if you don't have the font then use this:
å=aa
ø=oe
æ= ae

or go to wikipedia and copy and paste the letters

What's the difference between 'nynorsk' och 'bokmål'? Is it hard for a bokmål speaker to understand a guy who speaks nynorsk?

I only know the words 'norsk', 'tusk' and 'svansk'... Oh and 'jag likke dag' or so? Had some Norwegian exchange student friends. I was an exchange student in Minnesota last year and met them there.

..is "jag likke dag" "I like that"? Because when I babble my "nonsense-English", that sounds a *little* bit like how I say "I like that"
(alternating between "me likey da" and "jao lik dat"

I would also like to note that my friends and I want to go to Norway because from what we've heard, the English grammar makes more sense (quotations).

Norweigian (sp? sorry!) seems like a fairly awesome language biggrin

@Mivi:isn't Jag swedish
@Chocofudge: it's Tysk and Svensk
@anyone: Is the Oslo dialect Bokmål by any chance ?

@Forgedawn: Nei, det er ikke "Jag likke dag", men "Jeg liker det (eller Dette/denne) eller if you wanted to say I like you then det er "Jeg liker deg" eller love er "Jeg elsker Deg"
Forstår du? Ja eller Nei
