Noah surfaced and shook his head, letting the regulator dangle from the tank's shoulder strap. He looked around for Veli, trying to spot any kind of creepy angley being. Hmmm...

And a little glowing forehead doodad popped up above the water a few feet from Noah. Hiding Veli... Wasn't hiding all that good.

Veli popped up in all his horrible, angler fish faced glory and giggled, little not-nose wiggling.

"Sure did, suga'," Noah chuckled. Ah, the more he saw that face, the more he decided it was actually pretty nice.
He beeped the little not-nose and stuck out his tongue.
"Wanna go down?"

Noah popped his regulator back in and dove under, following after Veli not quite as quickly, but rather strong. The creatures were interesting at night here. He watched a fish swim by and resisted the urge to smile at it. A mouthful of water wouldn't be cool. He's JUST gotten used to salt water in his eyes.

Ah, and this was a happy Veli. He spun and swam, looking graceful and oddly beautiful in the water. He swam back up to Noah, wrapping around him. Mmm, an arm full of slimy merman. Awesome.

Noah blew a great deal of bubbles in a kind of controlled laugh, petting Veli's tail...body...whatever it was, exactly. Ah, yes. Love for the slimy merman.

More bubbled rose and Noah caressed Veli's round cheek, running a finger up a tooth. Really, he didn't see why anyone was so off-put by the poor boy.
