Orika easily ignored Shisei's comment about them 'sucking tongue.' She and Karite both knew they were far from that point and that was all that mattered. The girl rolled her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh when Shisei blabbed on about his selfish and cynical viewpoints. She did a double take and calculated that the deer were far enough away that she could put in her 25 cents before they'd have to fight. "Kore's not a thing you can throw away just because there's another cub. He's Karite's family and should be treated like one. Or is this something you'll never be able to understand, you miserable hermit?" And one more thing. The fact that he was refusing to give up his weapon irritated Orika so that she pointed her club at Shisei, the end just centimetres from his face. "I'll make you return what you stole, believe me," she said in a low voice, her eyes flashing. The girl wouldn't allow disrespect to her sensei, especially by someone who probably couldn't even use his weapon yet. She grunted, turning away from the horrible boy. If his parents knew what he'd turn out to be, they'd have probably drowned him when he was a child. Orika shook the thought free and tried to focus back on the task. What option did they have left but to take a stand and kill those deer? By jove, she was more than ready to fight. As the buck came into focus in the distant, beyond the farthest darkwood tree they could see, the girl touched Karite's steaming neck with a frosty hand, gave a cute smile with so many undertones, and ran off to battle the bucks. She took the biggest one in the center, which was consequently the fastest deer. Orika gulped as she saw the buck's full grown antlers charging, aimed right at her chest. With a deep breath and lunge, the girl crouched and swung the club up underneath the deer's chin just before the antlers could impale her. The club caught the deer with a sharp thud as it broke the animal's jaw.

Karite had no time to return his feelings to Shisei, and good thing to. His mind would have verbally assaulted the boy for thinking Kore was nothing more then a hand me down doll. Luckily Orika would do the talking. "We will talk later Shisei, I have some questions for you." Karite said placing down Kore both knowing what had to be down. Running forward he saw the first deer was taken care of by Orika's first blow. Knowing that close range wasn't going to work he pocketed the Ainan Akkuru. He pulled the staff from its holster and used it to sky rocket him into the air. using the momentum to flip himself backwards he aimed to smash the next deer to the ground. Widening his legs almost to a full split he let the staff aim high above his head which he would bring down upon his target. to his surprise the next deer had some legs on it. Coming from over the gate it speared him out the air like a Kunai with a lot of force behind. Flying in reverse his body hit the ground rolling. Rolling to his feet the young Reaper slicked back his green hair and smiled as he yelled. "Now Kore!" His hit didn't land but he was enough of a distraction for Kore to land a blow.

Kore was ignoring the surrounding as his ears began to shake in every direction. He heard every hoof pound the ground and it only grew louder. Trying to pry himself from Karite's grip he found the boy only insisted in waiting. Then as he was placed on the ground the young lion waited for nothing. He shot out like a bullet seeing his prey jump the fence. but as the sun seemed to be blocked out he also saw Karite aiming in from a high angle with the red stick. The boy overshot himself as his decent lined perfectly for a check from the deer. Kore's eyes fixated now on the slab of deer racing towards him this was the time his fur stood straight up and his claws seemed to itch for blood. His golden eyes began to scream and swell like the orchestra of a thousand warriors on the horizon. This was the moment he lived for, and as the deer grew as wide as the sun in the cub's eyes he heard Karite's yell and jumped with out hesitation sinking his teeth and claws into the hind quarters of the deer. With such force from Kore's speed the deer began to tumble and slide. Now this was the time for Karite to strike again as well as for the cub to gain a better purchase on the animal. The hunt was on and it was a good one.

It wasn’t the name calling that took his attention. The fact that Orika believed she could him make do as she desired. That was irritating. Her head was getting a little big from her victories. Especially since Shisei could not view any other way than how he would watch a worm. The snake child found himself wondering what Karite’s expression would be if he woke up the next morning to find that his little lively bunny had that club so far smashed into her face that it poked the back of her skull. Or maybe he should use his makeshift stake to stab her stomach. From there he could pull out her intestines and finish strangle the life out of the girl with her own organs. That would be very messy though. It just might traumatize everyone who saw the scene. That the abrasive diva wasn’t worth all that trouble. After all you wouldn’t use a mace to kill an insect. That is how Shisei thought of the situation. He was not returning any of his armaments until he came across something better or paid for a better weapon.
His mind processed the information quickly as in a few seconds his body was going to be gored by another horned animal. Unlike his wily, blood boiling peers, Shisei could not wield any of his weapons. He specifically chose weapons that would be of future aid rather than right now. If there were any shuriken in the weapon shop his fingers would have picked those up, but his eyes could not find any. There was only one thing he could do and that was to improvise. The boy’s ears just barely heard Karite’s words, did not take heed to them. For now Shisei had to concentrate on the opponent before him. What could he use? The stake! That was his best weapon at this time. His fingers quickly pulled it out from his pants and feet pivot. The right ankle first adjusting to make his body whirl but only partially. The other leg moved forward slightly. The serpent’s mind had already calculated just how close his foe would pass. “Two inch distance in between us… about five seconds to pass by.” his mind typed away all the facts of the situation. The timing would be perfect because the stake lay in his left hand with the sharp end perpendicular and behind his body. As the young buck ran past all Shisei needed to do was push his arm backwards. It was an awkward movement, but proved beneficial as the stick hammered into the calf’s ear like a nail being struck in wood. The animal squealed loudly and slammed it’s body to side knocking the serpent youth off of his feet. The determination to win made sure the last Orochi kept a firm hold of his stake. As his body feel the stake returned with crimson drops and a piece of buck ear. The snake child looked up from his grounded position to stare emotionless at the animal. Even in this situation the youth’s face had not changed into of any concern.

Karite's next attack would have to make it that last hit was on target just a hair to early. This hit would be a rib crusher. Running forward low to the ground the staff held tightly behind him whipping in the wind. Karite was having fun now. He wasn't one for blood but a good fight got his heart pounding like a stampede of Rhino's through the city streets. As he neared the deer he raised the staff again and was about to slam down but Kore was moving up on the beast. Which caused Karite to hesitate on his attack. The boy would learn quickly there was no room for hesitation in his attacks. As Kore moved his way up the beast and chomped into its neck the deer bucked and caught its antler in the back of Karite's ankle. Pulling with enough force Karite saw himself flying into the air. Hitting the ground Karite coughed a little trying to get some air in his lungs. "Damn deer."

Kore did not wait for Karite to spring his attack. Climbing up from the deer's hind parts, The cub worked his way to the beast neck sinking in his teeth and digging in his claws. Suffocation was the best way to bring down something this big. He had seen this in effect against Baki, It was a hard spot to reach and difficult for animals to get to without hurting themselves. This was the perfect placement for any hunter. Kore hoped Karite could inflict some damage with that red stick soon. If he didn't Kore could take all the credit for bringing in this kill. With big game like this how where the four suppose to bring it in now was the only question.

Karite rolled to his feet again. He was spending a lot of time on the ground and it was showing. He looked dirtier then Kore after digging. This was not like him, he was usual so light on his feet and pretty damn good with a staff for not having any formal training. He was just attacking the wrong target with his style of fighting. Watching Kore trying to suffocate the animal. Raising the staff again the buck stood and began to shake wildly trying its best to get rid of Kore. As it bounced and shook once again a direct hit on Karite. "What in the name of chakra is going on?" Karite was not believing that he was getting his a** handed to him by a deer. Let alone Kore with and injured shoulder was taking on the entire hunk of meat by himself. "Lucky cub."

Kore was luckily to have stayed on this long. If it was Baki he would have been pried off by now like a bad leech. Kore however began to feel a little vertigo. Rolling his eyes around inside his head to get a better view of his surrounding the young cub saw the deer had stood. Instinctively he dug in deeper which did not bode well with the deer. As he did such it began to buck and jump and hop around like a crazed horse. It was doing what ever it took to shake Kore free. Not likely going to happen. Kore wasn't letting go till the buck was good and and dead.

The buck’s ear made two spurts of blood shooting off like someone quickly turning on a faucet then turning it back off. The flow became slow trickle from the animal’s ear down to the side of its face. It winced in pain from the blow and anger at the child, yet it was not going to give up. Its animal instincts had kicked in to overdrive to destroy the thing that hurt it. At the same time Shisei’s intuitions had kicked in. It was because it was now a challenge for him to gain survive. He didn’t have a legitimate weapon to face off against the animal. All he had was his stake and whatever plan came to his mind. Yet it was because of the situation that his mind remained as still and cool as ice. His mind had to stay on task at hand. To remain completely on it for the one thing he loved most. Something more than watching the intriguing way a living thing loses its last essence when it dies or how something gains life through birth. More than battle and blood. To win. He’d continue to fight the antlered animal not for the love of fast pace action, but to feed his own desires to win. That was true gratification for the wanderer.
All arm strength pushed backwards and both legs straightened to propel the youth in a standing position. The deer was beginning to turn back to gain another charge. “Eight seconds…” the serpent youth thought to himself as his brain began to count off the seconds. His feet back peddled keeping an eye on the rampaging animal. His movements had to be quick. Slashing was ok, but would not get the job done quickly enough. Shisei was risking injury trying to stab the creature, but if he slowly hit points that decreased its senses that would make it much easier to take down. “Three…two….!!” the boy’s face only slightly changed with the bat of an eyebrow. His leg pivoted again only putting a half motion. It was enough of an evasion to let the buck cross by missing his target. This time the wooden knife went upwards under creature. Shisei could feel the piece of wood enter its trachea. It was a swift jab that did damage. The injury became amplified as the deer burst at a quicker pace to escape the pain, only managing to jaggedly slice through a piece of it’s throat. The snake boy was dragged a few feet by the deer, refusing to let go of his stick. His body rolled a few inches before gold eyes could regain a picture of the sights around him. The deer was slowly galloping now as a trail of scarlet was beginning to flow behind the animal. Shisei’s face remained unnerved.

Karite held his staff trying to hit the buck now would only cause it to become more skittish then it was now. Watching as Kore held on he could see the pool of blood the cub was forcing out of his mouth. Even if the buck got away it would be easy to track. Karite knew that him and Kore had this beast right where they wanted. Not wanting to be to caught up Karite holstered the staff and tried to steer the buck away from the pins walls. In doing so Karite managed to get himself pinned between the side of a tree and the buck itself. The force was enough to knock Kore loss and to give the buck a chance to run. "Oh no you don't." Karite picked up Kore and yelled behind him. "I got some meat to catch up to don't worry about it. It wont get to far." With that said Karite side straddle hopped out of the pin after his catch. Setting down Kore they began to run into the forest following the white tail.

Kore was surprised the buck had managed to still have so much energy with the amount of blood pouring out of its neck. Constantly snorting into the bucks neck and pushing the blood out of his mouth with his rough cat like tongue. Kore tried his best to work into the bucks muscle. This one was quite stubborn. As it bounced closer to the wall he picked up a flash of green and then a groan before he was slung to the ground. Standing he was quickly picked up and dragged off over the gate. Being set down he quickly shot off Karite close on his tail. This was how it was suppose to be. Running from prey was not the Tategami way. Chasing them to their death was how a hunt was conducted. Now all they had to do was catch up to the beast and finish this kill the way Shuga and Maya had taught him.

The last hit was more pivotal than the serpent youth expected. The deer had begun to slowdown. Its frightening swift actions were now slower as if the beast was meaning to trot. Behind it was a track of blood and from the ragged opening in its neck one could see what looked like a red banana that was smashed. The animal coughed and blew air through its nose as if trying to sneeze. The end would be nearing. Shisei could feel it. His mind was formulating how to approach the beast now for a finishing blow. It was still a threat. After all, the animal had an easy hundred pound advantage, height advantage, and antlers. Still the animal was slowly being embraced by silent doom. No matter what happened from here the beast would die soon. As the gold eyes analyzed the situation a disturbance alerted his ears and pivoted his head. Karite had hopped over the fence chasing after his prey. Shisei had forgotten about his allies in this hunt. His only focus had been on his prey.
The key words being ‘had been’. As his head twisted to see Karite leave, he missed the movement of the marred deer. With its last burst of speed it had charged into Shisei. The snake youth was not flung into the air like a rag doll. Instead the buck had aimed its head down after the hit and took the down the small framed youth to the ground. The herbivore was not planning on letting this opportunity go. Instead of just using a full force tackle that would have torpedo the child like a white firework, it grounded him and all his movements. The snake youth grunted as his quarry was beginning to put on pressure to crush his ribs.

“Gah….” Shisei grunted as the wind was taken out of him. He had not expected the animal to have taken him down and place a hold on him. Luck would have it that the beast would hit the same spot Orika’s fist had crashed into earlier before. The child did not panic although the pain in his chest and back was a vile awakening. It felt like a current of electricity was flowing between his back and chest. Even the once impassive face had slightly cringed and knotted from the assault. Despite this, his mind remained calm and collected. There was not a need to panic… not as yet. The beast did have him down and the pressure of being between its skull and ground was increasing. He could not roll away because the antlers would make sure he stayed in place. “There’s still the stake…” his mind though as his hands were looking for it. The all duty wood knife was missing in action. As Shisei felt for it, the idea began to dawn on him that the thing was no where to be found. Perfect. The beast snorted and grunted loudly into his rib cage to make Shisei look closer to a crushed egg. For now the snake wanderer had to alleviate as much pressure from his chest until something came up to use. He grounded his feet, trying to remain in one position and then managed to place his arms between his stomach and the snout of the beast. Then his back and legs tried to push upward. Maybe it could deter the animal into using some other tactic so Shisei would get a chance to break free. His mind was waiting for something to seize the opportunity and regain his position as predator between the two. For now the boy was at the buck’s mercy.
