Ianios woke early in the morning. The few birds that still hung around chirped in the trees. He stretched, yawning. He wasn't really that hungry, but he knew he had to eat. Getting up from his makeshift bed, he went over to the bag of sunflower seeds. It was getting old only eatting seeds, but it was all he had. Taking one out, he bit off the end, chewing. Maybe he ought to go home.

But what was at home? Family yes...family that loved him. And food. He snorted. No, he still hadn't found out if he could move on. He assumed he could, but it was so hard. It was hard looking at Cel's stone and thinking on what could have been.

Ianios sighed. It was going to be another long day.

Ianios gathered his few things, intent on returning home. His journey really didn't help him much at all, so he had given up on that. He still couldn't sort through his feelings as he still wasn't sure on what his feelings were. He didn't want to move on without Celaien, but he knew he had too. It hurt him, pained him through his very core to see the gemstone in the window of the shop. Would it sit there forever?

Ianios glanced around the den. I can't come back here, he realized. Too many memories... Gathering his things, he flew towards home. Maybe there he could collect his feelings, his thoughts.

Ianios hadn't been home long when he was pounced basically by Aria. She hugged him tight, nearly in tears. Dropping his things, he held her, looking down at her, concerned. "What's wrong?" he asked gently.

Aria looked up. Breaking the hug with one arm, she rubbed her eyes. "I missed you...I worried over you..." She trailed off, hugging him tightly.

Ianios nodded simply, rubbing her back. "I'm home, Aria, no need to worry." He said in a near whisper. He had to figure she would worry over him while he was away. She was more a mother at times than a sibling. He looked down at the feien he held, picturing Celaien instead. He wished it was him he hugged instead, but the feien faded, becoming Aria instead.

"Oh Ian..." Aria began, burying her face into his shoulder. She started to say something, but couldn't, as fresh tears rolled down her face.

"Shhh..." Ian wondered what had set her off like this. She had known he was leaving, but why the tears? Had she done something? What? What could she have done? Or...was she simply overjoyed to see him?

Aria looked up at her brother, weaving one hand from his back to touch his face. "Ianios," she said, her voice cracking. "Don't go away again. I don't know what you found, but please..."

Ianios froze. She never called him his full name. He looked down at her, his blue eyes softened. She was adorable, he'd always known that. But he never saw past the fact she was his sister. "Aria, I'm not going to go away again. I promise. Besides, I did discover something while I was away."

"What was that?" Now she was curious. What had he found while he was out in the cold world? Something good...or something bad?

Ian smiled gently, and led her to the bed. Sitting down in the middle, he pulled her into his lap, hugging her gently. It was a little odd to sit like this, but it didn't matter. Aria looked at him, tilting her head. "I decided...since we both wanted to mate so badly....I would..." Could he really ask her if she'd breed with him? What would she think?

"Go on," she prodded. What was he getting at? Was he asking her if she'd breed with him?

The plant feien took a deep breath. It was now or never. "I thought I would ask you if you would want to breed with me, out of friendship." There, wasn't too bad, was it? He looked to Aria, who had turned in his lap to look at him. What was she thinking?

Frown lines crossed her brow as she thought on his offer. There would be no harm in the breeding, she knew. And if it wasn't out of love, which it certainly was, not the romantic kind she had with Nigel, but a sibling love, she could stand a friendship breeding. She knew he had wanted to breed with Cel, to raise a child of their own, but now, with Cel turning into a gemstone, his dream was dashed. "I'd be honored, Ian. But Fionn has asked me as well. The day you left, in fact."

Ianios nodded. "I figured that, actually. I remembered how he was around you. I thought I would ask as well."

Aria hugged her brother. "It would fill both our dreams, wouldn't it?" she asked quietly. "To have a child we could call our own, to raise." She looked at him, her blue eyes meeting his own. "It wouldn't bring back Nigel or Cel, but they'd be a part of that love, wouldn't they?"

Running his hand lightly over her hair, he nodded. "Of course. It would fulfil both of our dreams, your longing for a child, mine...well, it wouldn't be the same, but still..." He trailed off. Would Celaien approve of him breeding with his sister out of his love and friendship with her? He had a inkling he would, but still...they had spoken once about breeding. He wondered, would one of their children turn out like Cel had? Easygoing, but determined? Loyal and calm? Or would their children turn out like he and Aria? Adventurous, playful, unforgiving? It was starting to make his head spin.

"I know, Ian," Aria said gently. "I am sure Cel wouldn't mind."

"Yeah..." He looked to Aria as she pushed him down onto the bed. "Huh?"

She only smiled. "Rest, Ian. You look exhausted."

He smirked, taking in the fact he was lying on a nice, soft bed. He glanced over as she started laughing. In her hands was the jacket. "What?" he asked. She held it up, unable to catch her breath to inquire about it. "Rynn gave me that to stay warm, if you must know."

Aria could only nod, putting it aside as she pulled free his blanket. She was still grinning, snorting laughter as she covered him up then laid down herself, snuggling to him underneath the blanket. Ianios smirked, pinching her nose lightly. "Hush, and go to sleep. You look like you need it too."

Aria nodded, curling up to her brother's side. Ianios dropped an arm around her, holding her close. "Goodnight," she whispered.

"Goodnight, sis."

Naaro rubbed his stomach, pushing back from the table. He was full, and he couldn't bare to look at the turkey sitting in from of him. In dragon form it wouldn't have even been a mouthful, but in human...

Rynn smirked, looking to her feien and maien. They were all sitting around the table, getting stuffed themselves. Malthius was sitting at the back, calmly eatting and drinking. He was watching Naaro as he wandered off into the living room, crashing onto the couch. "What's with him?"

Rynn smiled. "He's full. And now I think he's sleepy. Turkey has this chemical that makes one sleepy once they eat a lot."

Malthius nodded, sipping his blood in his wine glass. "I see."

Ianios pushed back as well, his plate clean. It was better than eatting sunflower seeds for days. He yawned, stretching. "I think I'll take a cue from Naar as well."

Aria glanced over to Ian and grinned. "Me too."

Rynn smiled. "Go ahead. Malthius can help me clean up."

Both feien got up, heading towards the bedroom. Liliana followed right after. Malthius turned to his adoptive mother. "So can I finish first?"

Rynn nodded, picking up another roll. "Of course." She smiled to herself. Last year she had no one to celebrate with, the house had been empty and she didn't bother cooking anything. Now this year she felt blessed.

Nov 26
(Shop rp)

Rynn
Ianios flew into the shop, settling down near the gemstone that had once been Celaien. He glanced around. The shop seemed empty. That was good. He hugged the gemstone to him, feeling its warmth. How he missed Cel still. Nearly a month had passed since his death and time had not eased his pain.

Ian rubbed a hand over the surface of the stone, sighing softly. Would he ever see Cel again or would he be forced to face the fact Cel was never coming back?

Dragonfyre
A tall, pale feien wandered in, fluttering lightly down to the windowsill of the shop. The impact of her landing quietly jangled the set of silver bracelets she wore on both wrists and ankles. She walked a few paces further and almost tripped over her own feet, and a louder metallic jingle announced her presence to anyone in the area. Selene winced and looked down, embarrassed, and sat herself down on the windowsill with her feet dangling to watch the end of the sunset.

The sunlight was just fading away into scattered wisps of pink, giving way to the hazy purple twillight. It was just the time of evening where every light, from elegant candle flames to dingy streetlights took on a certain ethereal, jewel-like quality that marked the coming of the twilight.

Selene watched the sky quietly, her silver eyes lit with the few old stories she had heard about the twilight, of the time when the veil between worlds was at its thinnest.
I wonder if one could travel between them? She thought to herself curiously.

Rynn
Ianios looked over quickly from his perch. He was still hugging the red gemstone and dropped his arms quickly. This was one feien he didn't know, nor had he even seen her before. He watched her, hearing the jingle of the bracelets she wore.

She was pretty, he gave her that. Unusual color for her markings. He hadn't seen a dark blue before. Wonder what her element was?

Ian coughed softly, not to surprise her. Perhaps they could become friends.

Dragonfyre
Selene sat up and looked around when she heard the small cough, and smiled politely to the green fairy sitting near the gemstone. She hadn't seen him before, which was no surprise. She started to turn back to the darkening scene outside, but suddenly remembered her manners, and decided that she should at least go and introduce herself.

She scrambled to her feet with a jingle and made her way toward the counter carefully, watching her step on the rough, knotted wood of the windowsill so she didn't make any more embarrassing mistakes. She made the jump from sill to counter gracefully, appearing to be much more at ease when using her wings than when using her feet. She landed near the red gemstone, and smiled a little shyly. Her voice was musical, but very quiet.

"Hello. I don't think I've met you before, I'm Selene." She folded her wings neatly and shuffled her foot back behind her ankle a little nervously, the anklets shifting with a muffled clink.

Rynn
Ianios stood up, and gave her a slight bow. "Name's Ianios, but you can call me Ian." He smiled at her, remarking at her beauty. "You must get told this a lot, but you're very beautiful." He was blushing as he said it, but he meant it. Granted a lot of the other feien were beautiful too, but there was something.

He smiled, looking at the silver around her wrists and ankles. "You like silver too? My bond adores it."

Dragonfyre
Selene's pale face turned an interesting shade of pink. Whatever she had been expecting, it wasn't that. She fiddled with a lock of dark hair, not even noticing as her fingers worked it into a neat braid. "Ah... I.. well um,... I mean, thank you." She looked a little flustered, but smiled. "Nice to meet you Ian." She lifted her hand with and nodded, studying the shimmering bracelets. "Mine likes it too, she makes jewelry and things from it, she let me have these. "

Rynn
Ianios was still blushing himself. He hadn't meant to make her blush, but had spoken the truth. And it was quite odd. In her spare time, Rynn too would craft jewelry out of silver. "Our bonds are somewhat alike. Rynn makes jewelry as well."

He smiled, taking a seat once more. "Have a seat. I promise I don't bite." He grinned, chuckling to himself. "That actually depended on who he was wanting to bite. Cel had gotten a few of those type bites before, and had quite enjoyed them.

Motioning to the gemstone, he gave Selene a sad smile. "Meet Celaien, my former mate." The gemstone was quite warm, even in the coolness of the shop.

Dragonfyre
Selene sat down next to him with a jingle. She saw the emotion in his eyes, and her brows knitted sympathetically. Silver eyes studied the gem idly, and she wondered to herself what the fairy had been like. She knew what it was like to lose someone... but she shoved away the rest of that thought with a cryptic expression on her face, a cross between resignation, sadness, and something else. She returned her attention to the other feien, meeting his eyes and imagining what he must be going through. Selene hesitated a moment, and put a cool, comforting hand on his arm. "I'm sorry..." She trailed off akwardly and looked away, knowing that was not nearly sufficient. Her gaze turned to the sky outside, searching for the words to say what she wanted. A wistful melody formed itself in her head, but that would be of little use without its words.

Rynn
Ianios nodded. "Thank you," he said softly, smiling sadly at her. He caught the expression on her face, but wasn't sure what to make of it. He glanced to the gemstone, then back to Selene. "It's been almost a month...I'm still not use to the fact he's gone," he said softly.

Ah, this wasn't how he wanted to greet the newcomer. He was bringing her down and he hated himself for it. Trying to break the tension he had caused, he decided to ask Selene more about herself. "Do you like silver as well? Rynn only wears silver, and though I have a silver circlet, I rarely wear it."

TarnishedHalo
Valsharess felt rather social for once and thought that a feeling such as that should not go to waste. Unfortunately, being quite short on social acquaintances, her mind rattled on, she felt the need to acquire some. This also posed quite a dilemma when it came to meeting them. So Val did the only thing she knew and that was to go to the shop.

She'd only been here a few times, so the red striped feien sort of peered around the corner of the doorway as she hovered in. Her tiny wings buzzed behind her to keep her aloft and her hands were clasped neatly behind her back.

Rynn
Ianios heard some buzzing near the doorway, and waved as he saw a smaller feien peek in. "Hi!" he said. "Come on in!"

TarnishedHalo
Val saw two feien who seemed to be much larger than her.

INTRIGUING!

She didn't know many adults and she'd really only met Semella who was rather grown up.

"Hello.." She waved one of her hands passively in the direction of the male and female faeries, "I am Valsharess. What names, recognitions, nicknames, etc do you happen to follow?" She rambled in her normal way and smiled gently.

Dragonfyre
Selene nodded, "Yes, I do. It seems a little silly, but it reminds me of the ocean." The feien's expression was a bit wistful and detached, though not quite sad. She coughed slightly and her attention snapped back to the warm shop around her. "I'm learning to weave a bit at home, it's pretty fun, it will be nice to have something to keep warm when the winter comes. I didn't really mind it before, but I was inside most of the time then." She thought of something, since not all of the feien would have even seen the winter here yet. "Have you ever seen the snow?"

She turned to the little red fairy who had just entered, "Hello there." She smiled politely, wondering to herself just how many of the tiny feien there were. She grinned at Val's long-winded manner, and brushed an unruly lock of hair from her face. "I'm Selene, nice to meet you."

Rynn
Ianios smiled at the younger feien. "I'm Ianios, but usually called Ian. Or if you're Arith, you'd call me Ia." He grinned. He had never minded that nickname. "Are we to call you Val?" He liked this one, she was a lot like he, curious.

Turning back to Selene, he shook his head. "Never seen snow. I don't like cold much. I'm a plant feien," he went on to explain. "I like summer more. Aria, my bond's other feien, is a water feien. She likes cool where I take to warm. We're almost complete opposites." He smirked, wondering what she was doing at the moment. Probably playing a video game.

He wondered how he was going to do once winter really hit. Whould he be forced to wear that pink and white jacket to go anywhere outside? Dragon's fire, he hoped not. If the others saw him...

TarnishedHalo
"Hello Ian and Selene.. No I am not Arith, though whether that is fortunate or unfortuante is left for you to determine.." Her hands clasped once more behind her back. She looked both of the other feien over. "It would be rather odd if I were Arith, don't you think? I do not even know this Arith so I suppose it would be even MORE odd for me..." Val caught herself rambling again and hovered about the two as they talked about summer and winter and people she did not know.

She needed to get out more, obviously.

Dragonfyre
Selene smlied, remembering what winter was like last year. She had been summoned in the midst of it, and her memory was a little misted with the length of time that had passed, but Snow she remembered perfectly. "It's beautiful. It's not like rain, it's perfectly quiet when it falls, and the little snowflakes are just like lace. They're so fragile they just melt away if you even touch them. Bitterly cold though, you wouldn't want to stay outside for long. Like Dragon said, it can be dangerous, especially to the smaller ones. " She shrugs with a smile. "I don't mind the cold so much, as long as it doesn't stay for too long. I'm a sky feien myself, by the way."

Rynn
Ianios laughed. He hadn't laughed like that in a while, either. "No no, Arith is another feien. She calls me Ia, everyone else calls me Ian. I was just poiting that out." Valsharess was cute as well, in her own way. "Come on and have seat."

Rynn
A sky feien? He hadn't heard of one of those! How interesting. Was she the only one? He was the only plant feien he was aware of. "I think I'd like to see this snow then. It sounds lovely." He would like to feel it, at least once, But if it was too cold, he's admire it from the house.

Turning back to Val, he smiled. "And what elemental are you? Just being curious."

TarnishedHalo
Valsharess listened attentively while she moved in a bit of a circle before settling down to a sitting position, much like an animal who circles before getting comfortable.

"Sky and Plant? I have never met those types. I am a feien on Respiration. Breathing. The act of life for humans you know.. " She nodded sagely and sat indian style.

Dragonfyre
Selene giggled at the tiny feien's chatter, a musical sound like pearls falling on glass. She smiled and offered a hand to the talkative red feien hovering above them, "You're welcome to come sit with us if you'd like."

Edit: ((whooops, looks like that one was late sweatdrop ))

Rynn
Ianios nodded. "Well, I'd never met a Sky or a Respiration feien before either. Or another plant feien for that matter." He smirked, running his hand through his hair, spiking it. Ian drew his long legs up, sitting like Val now.

Dragonfyre
Selene watched the little feien settle herself cutely. She looked at the young feien a little curiously as she mentioned her element. "Respiration? I can't say I've heard of that one before either." She smiled, "I suppose it's because I've been away for so long, people have been coming and going that I haven't even got a chance to know yet."

Rynn
"You're not the only one, Selene. I still don't know a lot of the feien here, and I've been around since June. Though for the month of August, Aria and I joined our bond on an adventure." His blue eyes seemed to glow at that. "Are there any special spells for Respiration?"

TarnishedHalo
"Spells? I.. don't know. I am not adept with magic very much at this time." Val rested her hands on her knees. "I have not been sure how to go about it, in fact. Is it just like Alakazam.. magic? Hmm.." She tilted her head to the side.

Rynn
Ianios bit his lip in thought. It was sorta like that, he guessed. All he knew was flight and Green Thumb, and those came naturally. "Maybe it's suppose to come naturally. Take my spell Green Thumb for instance. I don't think I am casting it when I tend to my flowers, but they seem to grow and thrive a lot better than when Rynn tends to them." It was the only way he could explain it.

Dragonfyre
Selene nodded, with a smile. She wondered what it would be like to have a sibling, another feien that was always around to talk to. It seemed like it might be a little stifiling, having people around all the time. "That sounds like fun." She smiled, "I've been on a few journies myself, but only on my own. Is it hard to travel with someone else?" Selene glanced behind her to the window - it was already dark out, and the moon was just visible above the line of houses, veiled thinly with clouds. "I had better be going." She stood up and waved to Ianios and Valsharess with a silvery jingle. "I hope I see you around sometime!" Her eyes lingered sympathetically on Ian, silently wishing him strength. She hadn't even spoken to him very long, but it seemed like he had been a friend for a long time. He hadn't even said anything in particular that should make it seem like that. She shrugged to herself and waved with a jingle, "Goodbye then." Selene fluttered towards the window and outside, disappearing into the moonlit night.

TarnishedHalo
Valsharess watched Ian talk about spells and it was obvious she was always thinking. Her mind never stopped moving.

Selene had risen though and now was feeling. "Farewell Selene.. It is unfortunate that we could not speak longer.." She smiled a bit and watched the elder feien go.

Rynn
Ianios shook his head no, watching Selene get up. Too bad she was leaving already, she was fun to talk too. It felt somewhat like he's known her a while. But they had just met! He waved goodbye to her, then turned to Valsharess.

"So you have any other feien at your house? Or are you a loner as well?" Not that it was meant mean spirited, as Feien were somewhat hard to get. Rynn had told him that. She was happy being bonded to him and Aria. And he rather liked his housemates. He didn't think he'd like being alone.

TarnishedHalo
"I am the only feien in the house.. though there are other oddities. I share my room with Gallium. Do you know of her? She is an element.. not as in.. natural.. but as in chemical. She is very vulgar. '******** vulgar' as she says." There was something very unoffensive about the way Val said it. It was very much blatant and sterilized, more like a scientist than a street punk.

Rynn
Ianios was taken back abit. He hadn't heard language like that before! It sounded interesting. "What's ******** vulgar? And no, I don't know her. Sorry to say." He was interesting in meeting this '******** vulgar' creature though. "Will she be coming here?"

TarnishedHalo
"She curses a lot. Using swear words. ********. s**t. b***h. a*****e. b*****d. Words like those. She thinks she is tough I think, rough and tumble. 'Hardcore'." She quoted with her fingers.

"She does tattooes and piercings as well. Odd thing. Shiny and reflective and you can see her skeleton.. Zooombie mendel.." She said the last bit, softer, to herself almost and then giggled a bit.

"I do not think she will come here unless I make her. Even less likely if I try so. Very stubborn. Anti-social."

Rynn
Ianios nodded. What an interesting creature. He hadn't heard of such of one before, or seen one either. It piped his curiousity.(sp?)

He glanced at the clock and sighed. He was having a lot of fun, but he knew he had better get back home. Getting to his feet, he bowed to Valsharess. "Been a pleasure chatting with you, Val. But I gotta get going. Sorry," he said, blushing slightly. "Goodnight."

With that, he flew out the down, turning to wave to the younger feien, then disappeared into the night.

I have been thinking on Ian's offer. Breeding with him, out of friendship and love. More friendship than love, I believe. Well, with Fionn it would be friendship. But I know Ian loves me, and wants to see me happy. I do love him and wish him all the happiness he wants. But this is a big decision! It would be nice to have a child around, but what sort of mother would I make?

I suppose I'd be like I was when Ianios was a leaf. Worried over him and all. Trying to take care of him. But that was also kinda different as he wasn't my child, but a housemate as I have heard others call their feien siblings. He's not my true sibling as neither of us have parents, not like Nero for instance. But I still call him my brother.

Would that not be confusing for the young feien? I suppose, but we would explain so not to confuse him or her. That he or she was wanted enough that we decided to breed. I would not be disappointed in the child, even if they turned out complete opposite of Ian and I. I would frown on bullying others, as I know Ian would, but other than that, I would want this child happy.

I do hope in some small way we both get what we want, even if it's not with each other.

Rynn pulled out the box of Christmas lights, setting them down into the wagon. Naaro smiled. "That the last of them?"

Rynn nodded. "Yep. Last of the lights. We still gotta get the tree and ornaments though once we get those hung up."

Naaro sighed, glancing to the wagon. It was slam full of boxes. "I thought we had the ornaments out here. What is all this stuff then?"

She giggled, brushing back a lock of blue hair. "Lights, inside decorations, wreaths, stuff like that."

Naaro shook his head, rolling his eyes. Back home, she went all out as well, for they had a winter celebration as well. Not Christmas, but something like it. She had taken to their Christmas as well.

Rynn giggled, placing her hand over his and began to pull. Naaro glanced at her and smiled.

Once at the house, Ianios and Aria fluttered at the porch. Both had on coats Rynn had made, with slits for their wings. Ian was shivering. "Can we go in?"

"No, we need the help." Rynn started unpacking the lights, and Naaro unrolled them. Once unrolled, she plugged them in, making sure they worked. Then Naaro climbed the latter, with Rynn and Aria feeding him the lights, Ianios helping to hang them.

*************************************************************
Late that evening, the house was finally decorated, inside and out. It all sparkled, getting oohs and ahhs from Naaro and the feien. Rynn was quite pleased with herself. She ushered them all inside, with promises of hot cocoa.

Aria was in the living room, counting the gifts under the tree. There were a lot, but then, there were a few living in the house. She wondered which was hers. Most of the boxes were huge, but many were smaller, more feien sized. Pulling one out, wrapped in green foil, she looked it over, shaking it. This was her first Christmas and she was curious. What could such a box hold? Nothing rattled, but there was a cough.

Aria turned, a blush over her cheeks. There stood Ian, shaking his head. "Aria, Rynn said to leave thise gifts alone."

She giggled. Ianios, however, was very serious. "Awww, come on, aren't you dying to know what's inside?"

Truth was, he was as curious as she. But Rynn said he couldn't look until Christmas morning. And he promised her he wouldn't. And it was so pretty to look at anyway. "I am...but I promised Rynn...we promised Rynn we wouldn't snoop."

Aria nodded, setting the small gift back under the tree. "I know..."

Ian smiled gently, seeing the look on her face. She was crestfallen. He took her hand, leading her underneath the tree, but to the corner where it was sitting. Pulling her into his arms, he hugged her, settling down on the floor with her. "Come on, it's not much longer. We can survive this."

She could only nod, blushing. She liked being in his arms. It wasn't exactly the same as say, Maq's, but it was still nice. She leaned back, smiling softly. "I know you're right. But still....I wanna know!"

Ian laughed, just holding her. "Relax. Good things come to those who wait."

Aria sighed, looking to him. "I guess."

"Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. Just wish one of those held a certain gemstone..."

She wiped away a tear that was beginning to roll down his cheek. "Remember, good things come to those who wait," she said, echoing his own words.

Ianios had to nod. She was right. They'd get the gemstone, he hoped. One day...

Rynn opened the door to the house, peerking inside. It seemed to be quiet when all of a sudden, Ianios was there, buzzing in her face. "Well?? Did you get it??" he asked, all excited.

The dragoness sighed softly, putting her hand out for him to land on as she entered, closing the door behind her. "No, Ian....I didn't win the gemstone."

"NO!!" screamed the plant feien, having collapsed in her hand, curling into a ball and sobbing. No, dammit, it wasn't fair! His Cel, gone forever. At least with the gemstone, there was some chance...now that hope had been crushed as well. Hot tears flowed down his cheeks, dripping into Rynn's hand.

Gently, she rubbed his back, trying to soothe him. Aria flew into the room. She was puzzled at first, but then seeing Ian, she flew to him, landing on the open palm, holding him close. "Oh Ian..." she whispered, her head on his back. She had known how much he wanted the gemstone.

Ianios didn't answer. He sobbed, his heart broken. Now, with a new owner, there'd be no way for him to get Cel back. He highly doubted the new owner would resurrect him. All he wanted to do was cry. His soul felt like it had been ripped from him again. This was way worse. Now he couldn't even visit the gemstone! All he had left was memories...

Ianios bolted upright, throwing Aria off. She blinked, upset, as he flew off somewhere in the house. She made to go after him but was stopped by Rynn. "Let him go."

Aria nodded, sighing. "Alright. I hope he'll be alright."

"He will...give him time."

"Okay."

It was Christmas morning, and the house was quiet. The lights twinkled on the tree, the presents underneath still wrapped. Everyone slept soundly, save for one.

Ianios sat underneath the tree, hunting for a certain package. He refused to believe Rynn had lost Cel's gemstone in the raffle. She had to be lying. His eyes wandered over the familiar packages, looking for any that were different. But they all seemed the same.

Maybe she was right...maybe she never had the stone. His Celaien was lost to him forever. He pulled his knees to him, wrapping his arms around them, leaning his head over them. He felt the tears spring to his eyes, wanting to cry. Nothing could replace his love, nothing at all. The stone was his last hope. The other feien didn't interest him in the least. He might have been friendly with them, but none held his interest like Cel had. All he wanted was a drink, to get drunk. Maybe the pain would go away then.

"Ianios?" called a familiar voice. "Are you up?"

The plant feien looked up, a tear rolling down his cheek. Aria landed on the opposite side, looking past the gifts to where he sat. Seeing him, she made her way around the packages to him, kneeling beside him. Opening her arms, he fell right into them, her arms wrapping around him, rubbing his back. "He's really gone, isn't he?" he choked out.

"Oh Ian...." Aria didn't know what to say, just rubbed his head, his back, trying to soothe the younger feien.

"It's not fair..." Ianios muttered between sobs. "We loved each other...now he's gone...taken, sold like he was just a stone. Like he never existed..." More tears ran down his cheeks, dripping onto Aria's knees.

Aria rubbed his back, holding him close. "Ian....It'll be alright. Perhaps whoever got the stone will let you visit. Once he or she learns about the past you two shared, they'd be more than welcoming to you. I don't think anyone would be that cruel to deny you that."

He looked up at her, the one he called his sister his entire life, short as it was. She was the only one who understood. "Aria..." his voice cracked, and he cast his eyes downward. "I love you," he whispered softly, not daring to look at her. "You know why I asked you to breed with me, so we'd both get something we wanted. Well, I...I ask you now out of love, rather than friendship. You're always here, always around. The others...I don't think I'd find what I had with them. But with you..."

Aria was speechless. "Ian...don't say that. Surely there are more feien neither of us has met, one who will be what you wanted in a mate. I do love you too, but I don't know if I could love you more than a brother. Rynn once said "We're not promised tomorrow," and my feelings might change but right now, I just want to be your sister, your friend. Please understand, I'm not rejecting you. I'm not leaving you, Ianios, but I wish only to be your sister."

The green feien looked up at her, his eyes red. Slowly he nodded. He understood. She'd always be around when he needed her. "Alright..." was all he managed to say. He let Aria hold him, just wanting to die. It all seemed so wrong. He let his head drop, more tears springing forth.

Aria put her hand under his chin, forcing his head up. He blinked, a tear dropping of the end of his nose. He looked so lost. She sighed softly to herself. "Ian, you know I adore you. But it doesn't feel right for me. You just claiming you want me. You haven't fully let go of Celaien. You're only wanting someone to love to replace him. I don't want to be a replacement. If you truely want me, you will have to let go of him. You will have to ask me with a clear head and heart. Not as a replacement."

"Aria, you're not a replacement!" Ianios cried, grinding his hands into his eyes. He looked at her, the tears blurring his vision. He blinked, then he saw what she meant. Her face was pained, but she had spoken honestly to him. He could see the sadness in her eyes. She hadn't meant to harm him, it caused her great pain to be honest with him. He had been trying to replace Cel with her. And that wasn't right. It wasn't fair to her, or him.

He hugged her tightly for a moment then held her back at arm's length. "Aria, you're right. I realize that now...I was looking to replace Cel. If you don't wanna go through with a breeding with me now, I understand. But I had hoped it would make us both happy."

Aria smiled gently, taking his hands in hers. "I do want to breed with you, dear Ian. I have always wanted you happy. But I don't really feel comfortable with you as my love. I still see you as a brother. Sometimes I think you'd be wonderful as the one I adore above others. But right now, you need time to get over the loss. I want to breed with you out of that love. Sibling love, something to make us both happy, to fulfill a dream we both share. But Ian, I think there's someone else out there what deserves you more. We just don't know who that person is yet."

Ian nodded, about to say something more, when there was a cough above them. Peering through the branches, he saw Rynn standing there. "You two alright?" she asked softly.

"We're fine, Rynn. Just discussing some things," Aria replied before Ianios could speak.

"Alright then. Are you ready to open your gifts?"

"Sure."

"I guess..."

She beckoned the two of them out. "Go wake the rest of the house. I'll fix breakfast." They nodded, darting to the bedrooms of the cottage.

Breakfast was over with, the gifts passed out and opened. Ian hugged the plushie that Tahki had given him to him, eyeing Aria's cookies. He stuck a hand over to take one, grinning at her when she caught him.

"Go ahead," she said, rolling her eyes, but smiling all the same.

He took a bite, but nearly spit it out when Rynn gave her feien a huge grin. "Now guys, it's not what you expected, but I got you both something else." She headed outside, Ianios turning to Aria.

"What could it be? Do you think..?"

Aria shook her head. "I don't think it is, Ian. Maybe something else?"

Rynn returned, kneeling to her two feien who were sitting on the couch. She brought her hands forward, revealing fourteen little dragons, in every color of the rainbow. Two looked exactly like those Aria and Ian had given as gifts. Aria squealed, having not wanting to give the little grey dragon away. Ianios blinked as the red one came up to him, sniffed the bite of cookie he held, and took it from him. He dropped the plushie, hugging the red dragon to him, who then was busy licking Ian's face. "I hope you like them."

"I'm naming you Celaien!" Ianios told the red dragon who seemed to nod.

The rest seemed to rush forward, sniffing Aria and Ian both. Aria was grinning. "Merry Christmas, guys," Rynn said softly, watching a couple lick Aria who was giggling. It was going to be alright now she hoped. Watching Ian hug the newly named Celaien to him, and Aria getting glomped but the rest, she smiled at Naaro, who smiled back. Yes, things were going to be alright.

Gifts

Tahki
Ian,

Wow! It's been a really long time since I've seen you! I'm sorry I couldn't stay around to visit, but Neko really didn't want me to be out today so she told me to just deliver the gift and come back home. Maybe another time! Anyway, I know it's late, but I got a christmas present thing! I'm your secret Santa! Isn't that neat?? I wanted to wear the big red suit that one of Neko's dolls wear, but she said that I was good enough being red and black already. But Santa wears white, not black! Maybe I should have painted the black markings white for christmas and then I could have been Santa! I'll do that next year!

I hope you and Aria had a good Christmas, and that you two will have a good New Years, too! Bye bye, Ian!

Huuuuuuuugs,
Tahki

"So when the ball drops, it's a new year?" Ianios asked, watching the tv of the countdown. In his lap was the dragon Celaien, who was watching inbetween bites of the beef jerky Rynn had gotten for the small group of dragons. A couple of the others were around him, namely the green one, the lime one, and the blue one. Rynn wasn't sure of all the names they'd been given.

"Yep."

Aria looked up, munching a cookie. She was still eatting on them, the same ones Ursa had baked. They were very good, as Rynn had had a taste. Well, the cookie was that small, so that's what it was. A taste. "So how does that work?"

The dragoness blinked, sitting down on the couch next to Naaro. She snuggled to him, smiling up at him. He smiled back, his arm around her. "Well...I'm not exactly sure. At midnight, it's a new day. It just happens to be January first. And January is the beginning of a new year."

Aria nodded, but Rynn knew she didn't really understand. Heck, it was hard to explain!

The crowd on the tv shouted down, Ian and Aria shouting along. "Happy New Year!" they shouted together.

Rynn was turned to face Naaro, who kissed her. "Happy New Year, love," he whispered.

"Happy New Year, Ka," She whispered back.

Ianios flew into the shop, with little Celaien under his arm. He looked around when he landed, setting the small red dragon down. The shop was empty. That was good. Leading the dragon over to where the gemstones were normally kept, Ianios went to where Cel's gemstone had sat for a while. He didn't know who gained the stone, so he was stuck visiting the spot he last saw it.

"This is where your namesake was kept before the auction." He glanced at the dragon, who sniffed the spot. He smiled gently, then sighed. Gods, he missed the small red feien. Leaving the dragon there on the shelf, he flew to the counter. Perhaps whoever gained the stone was listed in the book of feien.

He looked down the list, struggling to flip the page. Finally he found the address. He made a point to write it down, folding the paper once done. Good thing there were some feathers and paper he could use. "Come, Celaien!" he called to the dragon.

Celaien flew over, landing on the book, rumbling happily at him. Ian smiled, picking him up. "Lets go. I got what I came for."

Picking up the red beast, he flew back out, towards home.

Once Ian arrived home, letting Celaien down, he put the paper with the address in his chest. Aria was sitting there, on his bed when he turned around. "Hi," she said, looking at him. "Where did you go?"

Ianios watched Celaien bound off to be with the others, then turned his attention back to her. "Shop...showed Cel around there....got the address to the person who got Cel's gemstone."

Aria nodded. "I see..." She looked down at her feet, frowning. "Ian...isn't it time you let go of Cel? Someone else has the gemstone...they're not likely to trade or anything." She looked up at him, her eyes pleading.

"Aria! Don't say that! They wouldn't use it...once they find out..." He broke down, tears filling his eyes.

She got up, putting her arms around him. "I'm sorry bro...but I felt it was time you moved one. Cel will always have a spot in your heart, but you need to focus on the living. If they do use the gemstone, what then? You can't do anything about it. Cel will not want you moping forever."

Ianios nodded, rubbing his eyes. "You're right...but I can at least try. Please...let me try."

Aria nodded. "Alright...I'll let you try. But don't get your hopes up."

"I'll try."

((Shop rp))

Rynn
Aria flew in first, landing on the countertop, waiting for Ianios to join her. They hadn't been racing or anything, but it was still so cold out, Ian was having a hard time keeping up. Plants didn't react well to cold, and it sorta slowed him down.

She looked around, smiling as she saw two new feien. "Hi!"

Just then Ian flew in, nearly crashing into the doorframe as he winged his way to the countertop. He shivered, snow in his hair, melting. "Dragon's fire, it's bloody damn cold!" He shook himself, rubbing his arms. "Howdy."

TormentedAngie
((Night Sarabi ^_^ Hello Rynn XD))

Reneeka was amazed at just how fast Hitomi appeared to be speaking. It was hard to keep up with, but she managed to get the basic gist of what the girl had been trying to say all along. Nodding, the fairy waved to Hitomi. "Goodbye! Have a safe trip home!" She made a mental note to remember the address on the table.

Turning to the other two feien who'd arrived, there was no trace of her former shyness. They looked much bigger than her though, she mused as she greeted them. "Hello. My name is Reneeka, and I am kinda new around here..." It wasn't that she was trying to advertise that she was the new kid on the block, they could probably guess that already without her saying anything. However it just kind of...popped out of her mouth as the right thing to say.

Rynn
((Hey Angie!))

Ianios nodded. My, what a pretty feien! Differnet than most he'd met. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ianios."He took in the fact she had dark skin. Some had colored skin, but hers...hers stood out. And her markings and her wings...he seemed intralled by her.

Aria smirked, elbowing Ian in the side. "I'm Aria. Pleased to meet you, Reneeka. That's a pretty name." Aria liked her coloring. "Have you just emerged?"

Ian coughed, glaring at Aria. "Don't do that!" He turned from her, stepping forward to offer Reneeka his hand to shake.

TormentedAngie
Blushing for the, how many times was it now? She couldn't recall, but it was no matter. She was blushing again for the compliments over her name. "Thank you. I emerged...not too long ago, but not all that recently either. I've been to the shop once before, but had to go soon after I arrived." She passed it off as nothing important.

Glancing at the hand extended to her, she slowly reached her own out. They were both so polite, in fact, everyone she'd met so far had been rather polite. Maybe the shop wasn't such a scary place to be after all. Taking his hand, Rene smiled. "I'm quite pleased to meet both of you. I think both your names are pretty."

Rynn
Ian grinned. "Feel free to call me Ian, everyone else does." He started blushing cause she had. It was a natural reaction.

Aria smiled. Well, she was always smiling. It was normal for her. "How do you like the shop so far? Met a lot of the feien yet?"

Ianios smirked, sitting down. He crossed his legs, leaning back. "What element are you? Out of curiousity, you know."

Both seemed interested in her, curious.

TormentedAngie
((Unfortunately I think I gotta head to bed too. Wanna pick this back up tomorrow?))

"I haven't met very many. In fact, I only know the names of 3 feien, and you're two of them..." She paused, looking around the shop for a moment. "But everyone I've met so far seems to be quite nice. I don't know what exactly I was expecting, but I'm glad for what I've encountered so far."

Rene pondered Ian's question, before answering. "I am of the sound element, if I recall correctly." Now that she actually thought about it, that would probably explain why she loved music so much...

Rynn
Ianios nodded. "Interesting...I'm plant. Aria here is water...though that's obvious." He smirked as she nearly hit him.

Aria gave the smaller feien a smile. "That's good, most feien seem to be nice. I don't think I've come across too many mean ones."

Ian looked at Aria. "You should have been sound. You love music, singing..."

Aria smirked. "Maybe." She glanced at the clock. "We gotta get going. Nice to have met you, Reneeka!"

Ian got up, stretching. "Bye!"
With that, he followed her out the door.

((I'll be here! Goodnight!))

Rynn was busy cleaning out a drawer in her dresser, removing christmas items to be stashed away elsewhere until it was time for them to be needed again when she came across 4 small boxes. She smiled to herself, having forgotten about them. Calling Ian and Aria over, she handed them one each.

Ian grinned at Aria. "I'd forgot about these!" he said, tearing into his. Inside was a picture of a dark grey mouse. He grinned. "Not a dog, but it's cute!"

Aria tore into her, ready to see what she got. Inside her package was another mouse, a deep caramel in color. "Oh.....I'll name him Acorn! He reminds me of the color of an Acorn!"

Rynn smiled, handing another to Ian, who gave it to Aria. "This one is from me."

Aria blushed. "Ianios! You didn't have too!"

"I know. I wanted too." He said, watching the blue feien open the gift. Inside that one was a picture of a dingo. She ooohhed and awwwed over the picture.

"Thanks!"

Rynn handed her another. "Remember, you wanted one for Maq?"

Aria blushed. "Can I take it to him when we go pick up the pets?"

"Of course. Come on, we'll go now." The feien grabbed their pictures, Aria holding the box for Maq, and they left the house, nestling in Rynn's coat pocket.

(Will post pictures when they're named by Zero Dream.)
