Neb noted the new person. He nodded, but put no favorable emotion either way into his greeting. Buisness called.

"I always wondered how the jedi ever survived without emotion. I'm sure the kid you met will do fine, though it is not my responsiblity. I just wanted to inform you that Garos IV is under siege, and I'm not partaking in the battle at the present. I'm heading off to Ossus, and the Kapella will leave in the next hour or so. And since Ganil is present, I won't have to repeat the message. If you require anything of me before I depart, now would be the time to ask of it."

"Yeah...just a boring history lesson." he said, perhaps a shade glumly.

Wasn't very boring while I lived through it...

Nodding back at the new Jedi, he turned back to Mordranna "Ah...well, congratulations." he said. "It was nice talking to you, but you've probably got more pressing matters than idle chatter." he said, stepping back as the others approached and greeted Mordranna.

I suppose she has found something to believe in. That's good for her.
Myself...I don't know...

Mordranna gave Cajin a polite bow. "As you say. And thank you - perhaps we shall meet again?"
And, with that, she turned to Neb. "There isn't anything I can think of at this time, really. Aside from whether or not you wish either of us to accompany you to Ossus, or if we'll both be needed at Garos IV."
During her training, she had heard references to Ossus, and she was certainly more than intrigued to see this world for herself. Still, she would go to Garos IV if ordered.

After the exchange of a somewhat heated conversation between the Dark Lord and Rohsan, Angel said, " He may have a point. Perhaps we aren't looking as closely at everything as we should. But... He could also only be saying these things to throw us off track. Who's to say he's not working with the Jedi to keep us from finding something that would mean their doom? " After a moment of silence, she looked up towards the sky, wondering how the battle over Kothlis was going now. " Should I get R1 to take us back to the Eclipdra? "

The debris of Alderaan floated silently in the dead of space. there was an unearthly stillness of the field that some how set a sentinent at ease. this was a dark and solemn place, a site where a great evil had been commited, a site where the dead were remembered with nigh a tear eye or light heart, the site of the empire's cruelest act.
Amid this field of the dead, a small mote of life apeared. a red and gold aerospace fighter dropped out of hyperspace on the edge of the field and actively brought the full strength of its sensors to bear. the fighter strayed for a few hours, scanning the edge of the field with its sensing equipment and avoiding the ocasional micrometeorite storm that swept out of it.
Cale drummed his fingers on his console as he listened to the same cd for the fifth time today.
"three hours and nothing: no returning alderaani, no grave robbers, sith not even a single ship. no farkling wonder they call it a graveyard."
he sighed and reached for his flask of jet juice. as he was unscrewing the cap he glanced out the window.
there was a pale thin man sitting on the wing of his fighter, his legs hanging off the edge.
Cale blinked and the man was gone.
The outlaw rubbed his eyes and shook his head. he double checked outside the window. with a shrug he turned back to his drink and took a pull.
It was about the third time something odd had happened. it was getting creepily annoying
"'Go to alderaan' it said. but theres nothing here. just a buncha rocks. what the hell am I suposed to be looking for?!" he slumped against the accelerator chair and cursed.
"maybe I am going crazy."
he checked the scanner again and tapped his foot against the floor of the ship.
The outlaw glanced out the cockpit canopy again. nothing but rocks, the system's sun, a pack of cigarettes that floated past the window( probably a gift left behind from a returning native), and a bright star nearby that was the only other inhabited planet in the system, the world of Delaya.
more or less the same stuff he had seen for the past three and a half hours.
Cale sighed in frustration. "what am I suposed to be looking for?!" he griped in an annoyed tone. he yanked the rock out of his pocket and glared at it."maybe I just ought to shoot you in there too. save me alot of damn trouble."
Something caught his eye back out in the void. looking back out, the planet Delaya
twinkled invitingly.
he frowned curiously and looked back out at the graveyard, then to the star that was the distant world.
"Im guessing thats a hint. or maybe Im looking too deep into this."
not wanting to stay anylonger near the field, Cale pointed the Phoenix toward Delaya and blasted off across the system, leaving the graveyard behind.

"Actually, Neb, there is something I wanted to ask of you. Didn't you say we would be getting new ships sometime soon?" asked Ganil, wanting something new to pilot, being that as new and updated as his X-Wing was, he still thought it to be "old-school".

A wave of Dark Energy enveloped Imperius.

"Kothlis...is a loss.....DRAKO!!!!"

Imperius turned and used the force to destroy a segment of the valley.

"We will go to Ossus. Prepare the ship."

Selkisto returned with his battered squadron to the MonCal cruiser "Stellar Destiny." It was populated by few Calamari, as it was designed not for their erganomic requirements, but for general species. As a result, there were a lot of humans and humanoids manning the ship.

Selkisto didn't care about that now. He'd lost over half his squadron.

He stomped to the command room and sat down in a huff. The surviving pilots from a few other squadrons were there, in addition to a handful of gunboat crews. Selkisto's pilots came to join him. One of them tapped his shoulder. "General-"

"Don't call me that. I'm not good enough to be a general."

Alshia Mev frowned slightly. "General Kerath, we got word of Hesh, Pell, and Foln."

Selkisto jumped to his feet. "And?!"

"They're alive, sir." Selkisto slumped back into his seat, and she continued. "Pell is critical, and he'll never fight again. The others will be ready in a few weeks."

"But they're alive." He turned to Alshia and sighed. "That still leaves four dead."

She sighed in response. "Well, sir, you did what you could. We lasted against several squadrons, star destroyers, and dreadnaughts."

"Uluss, Kamjik, Dell, and Grott were each worth a million star destroyers," Selkisto responded glumly.

Alshia tisked softly and sat next to him, pulling his head onto her shoulder and caressing his hair. "You need to stop being so hard on yourself."

Selkisto was about to respond, but the admiral of the Republic Navy walked in at that moment, and all pilots stood to attention. "At ease."

They relaxed and sat again.

"You fought hard, ladies and gentlemen. But we were not without losses." There was a cold silence that pervaded the room as he finished those words, and he broke it with a careful tone, "But the time for mourning is not now. We'll remember those who gave their lives when this war is over, so they did not die in vain. But you who are still here and alive must fight, so that in the future we can mourn our dead. If we don't fight, it'll be a new Empire telling us how to mourn and when to do it."

There was a tired murmur of approval, and the admiral nodded. "That being said, you should all know we're on the move. You'll be briefed above garos IV in 3 standard hours, according our jump goes according to plan. I suggest you rest, because you never know when you'll get another chance."

The pilots nodded to themselves and wandered off. The commanders of the squadrons remained behind, and Alshia let her grasp on Selkisto's hand linger as she pulled away, extending her arm to full length before releasing her fingers from between his. It was a gesture noted by the admiral more than Selkisto, who wasn't waiting to mourn the death of his pilots.

"Alright. Like I said, we did good. We got them to retreat, and it would've been nice to take some more out before they ran, but considering our resources, we did good." He extended a rod and turned on the main holoprojector, then proceeded to go over the battle, analyzing their movements and adding words of encouragement or constructive criticism when he felt it was necessary.

Selkisto wasn't listening. He was in a world all of his own, one that had been darkening substantially. He decided he needed to see neb again one last time before he left.

"General Kerath!"

The words were annunciated as if they had been repeated a few times, and they caused Selkisto to snap his head up. "Yes, sir?"

"Did you not hear me? I said to take a more cautious approach vector when you next engage a capital ship."

The general glared at him. "More cautious sir? Excuse me, but it's not as if we had any choice. It would be nice if we could have attacked the monster with an actual capital ship or two, as it was meant to be engaged, but-"

"Shut your damn mouth, Kerath. You want to talk to me about angles of attack, you do it when you're my damn superior. Right now, you're gonna listen the hell to me. Is that clear?"

Selkisto glowered, hunching and lowering his face dangerously. "Yes. Sir." The words were tense and deliberately clipped.

"I understand if you need some rest, Kerath. I'd rather you take your attitude out on the fresher droid than on me." The words themselves hinted at understanding, but the tone was harsh and without compassion.

Selkisto stood, clenching his teeth, his fists barely conained. "Yes, sir."

He stalked out of the room and hovered outside the doorway. He leaned heavily on the wall, looked up, and let out a long, heavy sigh. It was a jedi calming excercise that worked well for him, even despite his lack of force sensitivity.

He looked down at the saber at his hip and grasped it gingerly. He calmed down considerably more upon feeling its cool metal against the palm of his hand.

Neb turned to Ganil, adressing his question first.

"Yes, we have new fighters. Mordranna is flying one at the moment. I'm sure the technicians can brief you, but its as strong as an xwing, fast as a Tie Interceptor, and deadlier than half the New Republic, since jedi pilot them. However, you choose your vessels you fly. I don't care if you pick a Yt-1300 and dress up as solo, just as long as you get your job done. While the jedi get many ships they want, the New Republic's own forces are not as lucky. Unfortunately, the E-wings take time and money, so many will still use X's."

He returned his glance to Mordranna. "Mordranna, the siege on Garos IV will take who knows how long. We have the captial city surrounded, but we cannot penetrate the shields that protect the city. In my opinion, you could break the siege, but the battle probably will end in the next two months. If you wish, you can come with me, Gunny, and hudson and accompany us. Same to you, Ganil. If you wish to aid the infanty on the surface of Garos, be my guest. I will attend to the Tan' Sa' Qua' on Ossus though. Either way, you're helping."

Mordranna merely nodded sagely. "Very well." was her reply as she pondered her options. She then turned to Ganil. "It's a nice bird, indeed, as Neb says." she told him, before switching her gaze back to Neb. "I feel drawn somehow to Ossus, and should like to come along."

"As I said, I'll be leaving in the next hour or so. If you wish to leave your fighter behind and come in the Kapella, then be there in half an hour. Hudson will be there." Neb stated. "I have other thigns to do at the moment, so I must take leave. It is good to see you both again." Neb waved, and headed back to the Kapella.

Angel commed her droid. " R1, bring the ship. " She then turned her attention to the newly destroyed segment of the valley. " A shame. No doubt the Jedi were there to cause our loss. We'll need to build our forces back up if we intend to gain a significant foothold in this war so that we can find what we're looking for without trouble... " She sounded as though she was going to say more, but decided not to. A short while later, the Sundered Rose came down nearby, and the pair were on their way back to the Eclipdra.

Imperius boarded the gunship and satback as R1 piloted it to Eclipdra.

"Our victory at Garos IV will make up for it..."

Feeling the heat, Imperius discarded his jacket, and levitated Valycia into the seat next to him.

Drako laughed. He threw off the energy just to poke at Imperius.

" Fool....Your time will come. Just one more thing....."

Drako leaped down into the hole Imperius made.

" Thank you Imperius. I could not done it bettere my self. "

Drako walked forward into the cave. A light was at the end. He could see large crystle formations. Walking up to selveral he looked for one that was only found on this planet.

" Ahh.....here you are. Blood stone...."

Drako plucked the stone and placed it into a small case. He walked back to the hole and jumped out. He pressed a button on his comm and PR1M3 came and picked him up.

" Now to follow them. If they like it or not...."

It was a busy day in the marketplaces of Delaya's largest city. An endless stream of people moved in and out of the myriad of stores that lined the streets.
in one particular shop, a store of a variety of artefacts recovered from the explosion of Alderaan, its gungan proprietor scanned the holonet for the latest news articles.
"Ah. so the Republic has defeated the federation over Kothis. Truly good news." he said to himself. "The Federation is bombad for buisness."
His entry singnal went off, alerting him that a customer had entered. glancing over his moniter he noticed it was a human. It looked like it might be male, but it was short and young looking. possibly female? the gungan didn't know. humans all looked alike more or less and their myriad of cultures was all too confusing. what was apropriate for one culture of humans could be horribly offensive for another. such a mess these humans were.
"ah welcome good sentinent! how may I assist you?" The gungan asked cheerfully.
"Just browsing thanks." it said as it started poking around the shelves.
The gungan shrugged and turned back to his news. "Just dont break anything friend. otherwise you'll be paying for it."The alien shrugged and rolled its eyes as it continued to poke around.
The gungan continued to pour over its news. it frowned as it started reading the news reports further."I wonder how the Republic can fight a reborn Droid army though...clonning is forbidden in the Republic..."
"Hey pal, whats this?"
The gungan peeked around its screen and saw the human examining one of his more pricy pieces, a gem in a well crafted display box.
Its expression instantly changed. the gungan almost materialized near the human and put on his salesman routine.
"That good customer? That is a piece of a jedi holocron, very rare artifact from the age of the Old Republic. sadly this piece is all that remains after the loss of Alderaan. Ive had it dated and the artifact is very very old. a relic if there ever was one and a bargan at the price Im asking for it."
The human frowned and looked up at the ambhibian in curiosity. "A holocron? whats that?"
"You honestly don't know? well I'll be delighted to tell you." the gungan took a deep breath and started his story. "Long ago, the jedi created special computers out of crystals to help train themselves in the ways of the force. They held an almost unlimited amount of knowledge and were much prized among the order. yet they were far more than simple machines. they were equal parts Computer, Art object, and artificial intelligence. For you see, each of these gem computers was impued with the personality of its creator. this gave the holocrons personalities of their own and the Guardian, what the jedi called the Holocron's AI, would project itself as its creator. ithis unique system actually allowed the jedi using the holocron to converse with it as though the master was actually there. They worked only for those who were attuned to the force, so only the jedy could use them. Truly fascinating technology. but alas, the creation process for creating holocrons is lost to history, and after the clone wars all possible leads to the creation of them were perminantly extinguished." The gungan shook his head sadly"Very Bombad indeed."
The human scratched its head as it stared at the shard. "Thanks for the dictionary explanation. So only force users could use them?"
"As far as I know."The gungan said.
"Uh huh. I see." the human nodded. "So how did you get your hands on this? I mean its a pretty small shard. and the force of the explosion could have hurled it pretty far."
"That is a very good question. As heplful as I am I never will reviel the name of my suppliers. Its bombad buisness. But I assure you that this is quite real. I have had several tests conducted on it and will gladly show you"
"Nevermind, I believe you." It sighed and looked at the gungan. "So how much?"
"250,000 republic credits my good sentinent." The gungan replied.
A sly smile crossed the human's lips. "Tell you what shop keep, what do you think of card games?"
The gungan frowned"Im not going to risk one of my most valuable items on a bet with a human. thats Bombad for buisness."
"Well you might change your mind if I wager this." The human reached into a pocket if its jacket and drew out a holocron fragment, larger than the one for sale.
The Gungan's jaw dropped.
The human smiled even wider."Thought so. Now about that Card game..."
