How long have you been playing?
I've played for approximately one year. I take lessons with my awesome teacher, who freely swears (quite profanely) in front of me, and gets calls from people who want to book him right in the middle of our lesson.
What model bass do you have?
I have two basses. One is a crappy black Yamaha that is coated with decals (it sound so spiffy though....) and the other is a black Squire with Badtz Maru on it. It has a kinda short neck. Or maybe the other one has a long neck...
Preferred method of playing?
Erm....plucking the strings...? Is there any other way of playing?
Personal Influences?
They're called the Golden Oldies baby!!! 4laugh I don't like any particular bands, but I like certain songs. Here are some examples:
1) White Room
2) Time Bomb (it's not that old, but still!)
3) Glycerine
Yeah.....my fave new band is WolfMother.

How long have you been playing? ~6-7 years...That long on up-right...And about 2 years on eletric.
What model bass do you have? ~Gergein Up-right....American Delux jazz fender bass [5-string]...And my first eletric is a Harmony P-bass...Wors thing ever...Only 150$ sweatdrop
Preferred method of playing? ~Walking the bass and slaping...
Personal Influences? ~No one...I was just tall and I wanted somthing to do...So I started on upright. sweatdrop
Favored Bassist/Idol Bassist?~Charles Mingus cool And Tim Commerford [Bass player from Audioslave.]

I've played bass for five years.
I play: A four string Warwick Vampyre and an ESP DF404
I use a plectrum the most but for Iron Maiden and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers I have to use my fingers.
Slayer, Iron Maiden, Disturbed, Rammstein, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Blues Brothers, Venom, Metallica.....the list goes on and on and on!
Definately Tom Araya, Steve Harris, Flea and Fieldy
The only thing I want to add is that bassists rule!

I've been playing for two years.
I have a colbolt blue and white silvertone bass.
My favorite playing style is plucking and slapp.
I like to play metal and punk.
Bands:
Rancid
Anti-Flag
Metalica
SlipKnot
ECT.
My personal influences are the bassists of Rancid and Anti-Flag.

I really don't know what model, but its a cheaper one.
Preferred method of playing?
Fingers, plucking, but I want to learn slapping and other methods

A couple of the bass players down here, i hang out with them. Oh...and my band director

I really don't know, but The Eagles have a good bass player, and so does The Who, and Led Zeppelin, and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

An epiphone, its a few years old but i love it. I got it from my cousin, he is an amazing bassist.

with my fingers or slapping

How long have you been playing? Seven months.
What model bass do you have?Aria Pro. Very.. unheard of.
Preferred method of playing? Finger.. mainly because my bass is unslappable.
Personal Influences? Well firstly i'd like to thank sleep, and then there was that whole funk movement.
Favored Bassist/Idol Bassist? No idols.. except for Mrs. Clarkson. But Tim Cummerford=amazing. And.. stuff.
Any thing you'd like to add (about the rules or anything at all?)? I can sing BOTH of the Oscar Mayer songs.

How long have you been playing? 1 week (date is now 11/7/06)...so embarrasing
What model bass do you have? Vintage V4 series
Preferred method of playing? Fingers, although it sounds better when I use a plectrum
Personal Influences? Flea (RHCP), Eric Wilson (Sublime, Long Beach Shortbus), Tony Kanal (No Doubt)

Flea and Eric.

How long have you been playing? About 3- 4 months now 3nodding
What model bass do you have? An Ibanez GSR 200 FM, it's light and durable 3nodding ((But has a very high action >< ))
Preferred method of playing? I'll usually use two finger picking and slapping, but if I need to, I'll use a pick...
Personal Influences? My Dad, who recently got back into playing guitar, a friend of mine who comes over every now and then and we jam for a few hours, the list goes on and on..
Favored Bassist/Idol Bassist? Flea (RHCP), Fat Mike (NoFX), Shavo (SOAD), Hunter (AFI), and Fieldy Korn.

so yeah, i'm 16, i live in northern California, and i play in my highschool band, pep band, jazz band, and i'm helping a budy of mine to start a band, were still not sure what kind of music were playing other than rock. so yeah, thats me =^^=
