Eva nodded to the Viscount, an indication that he may proceed with the questions. She was never good at answering questions that were personal, and she prayed that he didn't ask anything too personal.

Taking her nod as a motion for him to continue, the golden eyed man asked, "I can understand you trying to keep your origins a secret, but lying to someone upon first meeting gives a very bad impression." He looked up briefly as food was beginning to trickle in, a bowl of soup was laid before Eva before the servant was gone, silent as the grave. "I would ask why you had done it, however, the mark on your hand is proof enough you were wary, so instead I'll ask this, why were you branded as such?"

Eva looked away slightly, a slight hint of hurt in her eyes to even think of such a think. She then looked to the Viscount, her eyes serious and almost unreadable. "My village, is very supersticious. They concider my methods witchcraft and branded me as a witch, an outcast for eternity. I only used the techniques of the ancient druids for healing, and protection. I had to hide it for many years, until they found out. Their suspicions were strong in the first place, then when they found out that i've been doing it for so long" she said her face growing serious to match her eyes. "It was either death or being marked. I look back now and it doesn't matter what I choose. Being cast away, beaten, and tossed to the side is almost the same as death" She said her voice strong, but her eyes growing a sad wisdom to them.

"It's probably why most people choose death over being cast out." Jozsef murmured, more to himself than anything. He folded his hands neatly and leaned forward, his mouth behind his linked fingers as he kept his intense gaze upon the young woman who was before him. "Have you used any of your knowledge since you've been cast away from your own village? Or have you ceased dabbling your fingers in that section of life?" Whatever she had chosen to do would give him a good thought on who she was and how she operated. On a side thought, the Viscount wondered why she was wearing that dress in particular, and had no doubt that Sarah had been the one to pick it out.

"Of course I have Viscount Noir. It doesn't matter if you are close to death, those who do not use their knowledge are most likely the ones who are truly weak, and do not survive." She said slightly firmly. "Just because I was cast away is no reasonable excuse to forget everything I have learned" She said nodding.

The man chuckled, the sound coming out like a deep purr, at what she said. Well, she certainly wasn't afraid to say what she wanted to, and that within itself gave him a bit of amusement. Humans were amazingly interesting creatures. "That's good, then. I'm glad you haven't forgotten and haven't stopped." He paused and gestured to her food. "Please eat. You need to regain your strength."

Eva nodded. "Are you not going to eat Viscount?" she asked taking a spoon and dipping it in lightly. She didn't sip the soup, like a rude person.

Jozsef smiled slightly. "I never was fond of soup." He leaned back in his chair, linking his fingers together as his elbows rested on the armrests. The woman was polite and had manners, but from how she had changed, he wasn't sure if he found that part interesting or not. When one has only had the company of prime and proper maids and servants, one grew tired with their politeness. The Viscount sighed to himself, the expression lost to the girl as his eyes traveled away from her and across the table. She was right, however, he did have to find food.

((You'll find Eva has a lot of personality changes due to what is currently going on XD))
Eva put down her spoon and looked at the Viscount. "I do believe you should eat something now Viscount Noir. Though just a stranger, I do concern myself for your well being." she said placing her hands in her lap. "I refuse to eat until you've eaten something yourself" She said firmly and seriousley. She wondered if the Viscount was that of a different race also, like Sarah. She'd try her best not to be too curious, but if curiosity got to her, she supposed she could try something later.

The Viscount looked at her for a moment and said musingly, "I can only assume that Sarah has let it slip that she is not entirely human, so I could assume as well that by telling you I am not as well wouldn't entirely bother you." He remained leaned back in his chair. "I don't currently need food like a human does. I'm perfectly fine going months without. Please. Eat your food." His voice was calm, only holding a small edge of sternness. He wouldn't move until she had finished all she could eat, and once she was cozily tucked away in a warm bed somewhere in his mansion, he would hunt. It wouldn't be too difficult to find a woman enchanted by a melancholic man. He'd just have to disappear down into town, and not bring her back to the mansion. He wouldn't risk his guest coming upon his own secret.

Eva leaned back slightly in her chair and crossed her arms. She refused to eat herself until he ate. She didn't care what he ate, or how long it took him, but she wouldn't eat herself. Her stubborness was always one of the weaker points in herself, but it was used to her advantage sometimes. "I assumed so when you didn't eat. You can either tell me now what ethnic you are or I can always find out later" She said with the same slight edge of sterness in her voice.

He merely raised an eyebrow, still feeling quite amused by the human's attempt to be stubborn. Well, it really was no matter to him if she ended up finding out sooner or later, but usually it wasn't something that people were able to accept. She wanted to know what he was, did she? He could see it in her eyes, the open curiosity that ran with the stubborn glint that she was so confident in. Slowly, he leaned forward, the clothing that covered his body making a soft sound as it brushed across his body. His eyes remained completely focused on hers, glowing slightly brighter as the rest of the room was suddenly dark. Still, he kept his attention focused on the young woman before him, the woman who he could hear the blood pounding through her veins, giving life to her body. His eyes sharpened, when suddenly he spoke, his voice like chocolate covered sin, dangerous but soothing and seductive. "What I am, Eva? I'm a vampire." He calmed the air enough to make himself seem harmless, the air grew thicker as seduction rolled gently off of the Viscount and coiled around the human female before him, pulling her emotions and feelings closer to himself as he caressed her mind into submission with his powers. "I tend to drink the blood of those that come near me, draining them completely." He smiled at this, his teeth flashing white at the slow, sensual expression. His fangs were long and sharp, canine-like as his gaze turned predatory. "I can eat later..." Slowly, the man leaned back, drawing all feelings and emotions back into himself though he kept his intense gaze upon her. "You should eat your food now."
The air completely relaxed, the darkness was gone from the room and the Viscount broke his gaze with her, staring into the huge fire that was next to them as he waited for whatever reaction she might have.

((-continued from IM's- XD))
Sarah moved Eva over to a chair and pushed her into it. "Here, sit, you should relax. Especially after what happened last night."
Eva looked away knowing what Sarah was talking about, but so she didn't spill what happened afterwords
"What happened last night?" The nosey cook asked, glancing over as he stirred the pot of potato soup.
"That's none of your concern!" Sarah snapped, stalking over to the cupboard to get a bowl for Eva. "Fill this for the poor girl." She shoved the bowl under his nose and scowled as he rolled his eyes, doing as she asked.
Eva held herself slightly and frowned a little bit. "I'm not hungry" She said quietly
"You need to eat." Sarah stated swiftly, as if she knew that was coming. "So you'll eat. You don't need to eat it all, but you do need to eat." She took the bowl back when it was full and stuck a spoon in it, placing it in front of Eva. "So eat." She patted the girls back. "Will you be leaving us?"
Eva was silent for a bit, not moving to eat. She eventually shook her head no
"Tsk for shame, you didn't eat anything last night. You need to eat now." Sarah frowned, not willing to take no for an answer. "I'm glad that you're not leaving us, but are you sure that's what you want. Sitting here and not eating isn't a good decision either. C'mon, eat."
"If she doesn't want to eat Sarah, she don't gotta."
"You keep your trap shut, Lark!" Sarah glared at him as he shrugged, going back to his food. "Stupid man. Doesn't understand...."
Eva jumped in her seat a little at Sarah's yelling but still refused to eat. She didn't have the stomach for it, the visions of the night before in the bathroom stuck in her mind
"Mmnn.." She frowned at Eva before shaking her head. "I'll be right back, don't you move." She patted the girls arm and slipped out of the kitchen, headed to the Library.
Once she was gone, the young man named Lark peeked over his shoulder and sighed. "Bothersome, she is." He stopped stirring for a moment and looked back at Eva. "So, whatcha see last night that's got your stomach arollin'?" His voice was mild, amiable, and not at all curious over what he was asking.
"The Viscount....." she said quietly then closed her eyes. Almost immediatley after she had to open them from the images. Her eyes were now wide and innocent like a deer caught in the headlights
"Lord Noir, eh?" He continued to stir the soup, not looking back at her. "He's done lotsa things. Dun tell me he's gone and tried to force 'imself on you, did 'e?" At that suggestion, the half boy, half man, did look back at her, a frown on his face.
She shook her head no. "He...he....fed....and I caught him washing off.....there was so much blood....after that I don't remember anything...." she said her eyes somehow going smaller
"Ohh. I see. Yeah he does that." He paused stirring and tasted it. "Kinda like 'ow Sarah goes and gets all wolf-like on the full moon. Only she dun go attack people, she just runs around howlin' and snappin' at me iffn I don't feed 'er." He made a small face and added something to the soup. "Did 'e scare you then, lil' miss?"
Eva stayed silent and nodded. "I've heard of vampires, but i've never learned anything of them, except they take the lifes of others to suffice to their own life....I didn't know they...f..fed." she said a chill going up her spine
"Oh aye, they feed on human blood." He glanced over and added, "But iffn it makes you feel better, the Master Noir never takes a life while 'e does so. 'e likes to pretend he does, to scare away people from 'is mansion, but I've never seen 'im actually do that."
Eva's eyes went slightly more small, but then a relaxed look came upon her face. If he scares people from his mansion, then why does he let me stay? One would think he'd chase me out by now
"As it is, I'm not sure why yer still here. Aren't ye scared of 'im?" Lark went back to stirring the food, calmly listening for an answer.
"I don't know...I think I am a little bit....but...I think it's mainly because I don't fully understand vampires....if I understood them more...knew more about their history, how they came to this world...and anything about them, I supposed I wouldn't be as frightened....before I knew he was what he was...I wasn't afraid of him at all. I was...." she blinked and shut up
Slyly, the young man looked over. "You was.. what?"
"Nothing! Nothing!" She said quickly and looked away
Lark grinned impishly. "Look, iffn ye don't wanna eat that heavy stuff, I gots somethin' better fer a lady like you." He put a lid on the soup and walked over to a small cupboard. Yanking it open, he pulled out a small sweet roll. "It's got that honey and almonds on it. Not th' bes' thing fer givin' someone whose not eaten for a while, but it'll keep your strength up I'll reckon." He offered it to her. "It's light, so'n it won't trouble your stomach none."
She blinked a little bit and took it. "Thank you" she said blushing a bit. She took a small nibble of it
"Yer welcome." He paused and leaned closer, blond hair slipping over his forhead and into his dusty gray eyes, "Iffn you don't mind, if Sarah asks, dun tell her I gave it to ya. She'll flip out on me again and won't leave me alone the next time she goes canine." He smiled sheepishly, pulling back.
Eva blinked a few times and nodded, giggling ever so slightly
"I swear that woman's got it out for me..." He sighed, going back to the soup and lifting the lid off, a huge billowing pillar of steam rising out of it. "So miss, what are you doin' here, if you dun mind me askin'?"
"I have no place to go...i've been cast away from my village, and have been cast away from anyplace that I go to." she said subconciousley pulling the sleeve down on her nightgown to cover the mark on her hand. She took another nibble off the sweet
"Oh? Then yer like me." He grinned. "I been cast out 'cause they thought I'd dabblin' in the Dark Arts." Lark snorted, shaking his head. "Me, little country boy who can't read. I think it's 'cus of th' scars I've got." He flashed her a bright smile. "Thems townfolks sure can be judgemental, can't they?"
She giggled a little. "They did the same to me" she said and showed him the mark they gave her on her hand
"Brand o' the witch, oh they got you good." He shook his head. "You certainly dun look like a witch to me... well, unless you count yer messy hair, but I'm guessin' that's cus you didn't sleep well, right?"
Eva lost her giggle and her mouth went open a little in offense
He grinned, going back to what he was doing and humming a little. "Gotta take a joke miss and then throw it back ta live in this place. C'mon, certainly you've got some witty 'marks hidden in that pretty head, right?"
"Possibly, but I don't offend anyone, even if they have me. It's the more mature thing to do really, and the more civilized way" she said nodding.
Lark laughed. "That was a pretty good insult right there." He rubbed his chest. "Ouch." Grinning wryly over at her, he put the soup on another section of the stove and covered it. "So miss, what's yer name?"
Eva pondered a little and realized that she did insult him. "Oh i'm so sorry" she said quietly. "I'm Evangeline...but you may call me Eva"
"Evangeline? Why would I consider to shorten such a beautious name?" He looked insulted for a moment before bowing. "M'names Lark, incase you hadn't heard from Sarah, I'm th' cook in these parts." He winked and waved around. "T's my kitchen."
Eva blushed a little bit. "It's easier to say I suppose" she said.

"May be easier to say but it sure ain't perdier." The young man grinned at her. "Well I'll tell you what, you can come down here whenever it is that you want. I've got food everywhere, and if I'm not here, you'll see my apprentice, Terry. He's a good cook- but don't be alarmed by the way he looks, just happens that he's got a bit of a bear in 'im. 'Is da was a bear dæmon, and 'is mum was human... thing is, he didn't get the magic part o' the family so he turned out to be big, burly, and as gentle as a kitten." Lark grinned, "And he's got one hellova good nose for spices!" He nodded once or twice with certainty and then turned back to the soup on the stove, checking it. "So, iffn you ever want better company than that dottering Sarah, you can come down here and party." He tossed a wink over his shoulder at Eva.

Eva gave a small blush at the wink and nodded. She finished the pastry and placed her hands on her lap. She gave a mental sigh of relief that Lark didn't pester her about what she had almost said earlier. She fixed her hair as best she could with her fingers.
