[[ Gerard's POV ]]
It was later that night, and we'd pulled into a gas station for the night, so the driver could get some rest. We'd been driving solidly for the whole day, and Molly had been making sure everyone stayed awake until about an hour ago, leaving Ray and myself on the sofa whilst the others slept.
Ray had offered his bed to Haley for the night, and had now been asigned the sofa as his bed until she left. I guess that was pretty nice of him, but then again, I wouldn't expect anything less. He was a pretty awsome guy. He'd stick by you through thick and thin, and wouldn't be affraid to protect his friends. I guess he was landed with a pretty heavy duty job in the band however. He was always the one to break up fights, and comfort everyone who was feeling down. I guess you could say he was like the mother of the family.
By now Ray was begining to get tired, I could see him nodding off every so often whilst we where watching Son of Frankenstein, and decided to leave him be. I gave him a slight nod, indicating I was going outside for a smoke before bed, and he smiled back, letting himself fall onto the sofa in my place so he coudl settle down to sleep.
By the time I was outside I already had the cigarette in my mouth. It was only when I lit it that I noticed the man standing behind the gas station, looking relativly shifty. I just assumed he was a drug dealer, and I was right.
He walked over to me, slightly taller, and somewhat indimidating for someone you would expect to be pretty skinny and pathetic, and as he reached my side, he shoved something into my free hand.
"What's that?" I asked, bringing it up so the light from the bus could give me a better view.
"Enough to last you." He replied, his voice hoarse and cracked as he talked to me, nudging me slightly with the side of his arm. "Free sample, I insist."
"Hey look man, I don't need anymore of this stuff. It's screwed me up before, I don't need anymo..."
"Just take it alright? I'll be at your next gig if you want more."
So this guy knew who I was, that was pretty unnerving, specially seeing as he was aparently going to be at our next gig, this was pretty bad. I'd have to make sure security was on full.
With that we heard the door open beind us, and the man suddenly ran off, leaving me standing with a bag of God knows what, for now I just dropped it and kicked it under the bus, bringing my cigarette up to my mouth and taking a quick drag before turning round.
It was Molly, in one of Bob's T-shirts that he'd let her borrow for the night. She looked pretty tired, and I was wondering why she'd come outside insted of just staying in bed. They wheren't the comfiest things in the world but they did the job.
"I can't sleep... Ray's snoring pretty loud."
"He does that." I replied, sitting myself down on the floor where I had kicked the bag, just to make sure she hadn't seen it.
"Can I come sit with you?" She asked, stepping out of the bus and standing by the door. I'll go get my jacket or something to sit on, and I won't talk if you don't want me to."
I sighed slightly and shuffled over slightly on the ground, smiling at Molly as I did. "Sure, park yourself here."
"If you're sure, I'll just go get my.."
"Hey wait up, Molly. You can use mine. I don't mind"
With that I gave her another smile, slipping my leather jacket from my back and over my shoulders, being sure not to burn it on my cigarette as I did. Once it was off I dropped it down by my side for Molly, suddenly feeling a chill wash over me as the cold air hit my now bare arms.
"It's cold isn't it?"
Molly nodded at that point, coming over and sitting beside me, resting her head on my side. She really was pretty tired, and I was suprised the cold hadn't got to her yet. There we where in T-shirts in Sub Zero temperatures, our breath's appearing before us each time we blew out.
By now I'd put my cigarette out and put my arm around Molly to keep her warm. We didn't need her going home with pneumonia or something along the lines, as well as her telling people we hit her with our tourbus. For now we just needed to keep her safe, kinda like a little sister we never had.
I did have to admit she was pretty sweet for a girl her age, I could definatly see us getting on, if only I didn't have other things on my mind.
**********************
The next day we woke up to find we where still sitting outside the bus, her curled up beside me whilst I was lying on my side, both of us covered over with my jacket. I was just hoping no-one thought anything dodgey... after all it was Ray's snoring problem that landed us out here in the first place.
