Raito's eyebrow tilted a bit as she spoke. He looked down and wrote down her 'name.' "It's a cute name. Be happy you have it." He looked away for a moment before looking back at her. "Hold on a moment." He returned to the book shelf he'd just came from and grabbed another book. It was the same as the other kid's. Returning to her, he held it out to her to grab and read. "Go sit down and learn the hand seals." With that he turned around to head back to his seat. The girl was odd but nothing too special. He knew the only reason for an appearance like that would be if she wanted attention. What a childish thing to do. Either way...she was late and would have to spend a bit of time when class was over to study what she's missed.
Handseals
The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The handseals can be found here. The rules are as follows: Roll a d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 10 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [d20 + Int Mod = (#)]. I had the students post the following stats in each post:

Ryukin tapped into his memory as he found he had already learned and mastered some of the handseals .He had done up to five seals and there were twelve so he had seven more to go not to bad.He didn't even look he simply began remembering the handseals more clearly than the night before as he remembered the ones he did and the ones he had yet to do.

Six handseals down six to go he thought in his head .He then folded his fingers together as he pushed his wrists back cracking his knuckles supposedly getting his hands more flexible to do the handseals.He closed his eyes again ,and thought of the eleven handseals his mother had showed him only the night before.

Five more to go he pondered.He was beginning to think he could live up to being a child prodigy because this stuff seemed to come naturally to him as if he had already learned it.Maybe it was because he was the son of two Jounnin level nin which was probably the reason why .Maybe he would be a child prodigy guess he'd have to see how things went along.

"A book? We're supposed to learn from a book?" Kumiko stoped there not complaining any further, she looked at the other younlings like herself pff being goody two shoes for the sensei... the only reason she would comply for now is . she remembered the importance of the handseals, her brother had shown her what he had learned and told her what they were for when he had learned them... "Well i guess beating the tar out of eachother happens later..." she mumbled before taking the book and moving to be away from the other students. She noticed a girl with oink hair...and decided she didn't like her at all already. SHe reminded her of the other stupid girls from the village. Remembering her own purple hiar she thought well atleast mine isn't some laim goody two shoes hair cut.
As she walked past the other students to get to a more alone corner of the room she finally cracked open the book and began to read.
After skimming it all seemed pretty basic to her because she remembered much of what her brother had told her so Kumiko began to practice.
Kumiko couldnt remember what she trie dthough so she had to pick the book back up and actually pay more attention to what she was reading this time before she practiced again.

"Grrr" Kumiko growled again having closed the bok and stood up to attempt to practice she found that she could not fully remember a single one. She grumbled to herself feeling like an idiot as she had just seen that other dweebey looking boy seeming to get the hang of this. If he could do it why couldn't she!? Because you're a failure that is why, you suck at this and you look like an idiot. Just throw the book at someones head and leave before you look any dumber. Kumiko's instincts were talking again but she refused to give in and so she opened the book again running her hands through her short cropped hair as she read the pages again, one hadn on each side of her mohawk. FInally she moved the book aside and stood up again to try this once more...

After finally haveing really paid attention to what she was reading and looking at Kumiko was abel to preform her first seal easily and having read more realized why it had been so hard, the first seal she tired was listed as a more complex one, the seal of the dragon... no wonder...

Kumiko had seemed to have finally grasped it all, and then just as quickly she had lost it... She growled again and pulled out the book "This is so lame" she grumbled alloud incase anyone had seen her fail yet again. SHe read mroe and then pushed the book aside a little grumpily and preformed the dragonseal and then attempted the next one...

Kumiko was begining to get fed up with this, she thought that being a shinobi in training would be more active than this but no, here she was in a muty old library practicing stupid hand gestures from some book because some guy told her to do so... she had a hand geture in mind right now for that old man, and this one she didn't need to practice... Kumiko decided that this was not yet the proper course of action and instead tried again to remember the seal. starting with dragon she moved into the next one..

Failure again. Kaida grabed the book angrily and nearly ripped the pages as she angrily flipped through them to the place that she had read several times now...she was getting very very sick of this... reading it yet again she thumped the book down on the table and attempted to preform another seal.

..why do the dice hate me so much?
Kumiko failed again and this time as she picked the book up there was no mistake to any onlookers the level of her frusteration with this whole ordeal.
She was getting very very sick of this, she was sure she looked like an idiot to everyone around her they were all on seal six or seven and she had mastered only one... she refused to let it end like this and so tried once more.

Kumiko was truely sick of this, how much more effort could she put into this? she was giving it all she had and was meeting with constant failure. It wasn't right SHe was better than them, she knew she was, she was stronger and smarter than them, and after all this time it seemed that she had lost her edge or perhaps this was going to be something beyond her grasp? SHe refused to believe that and so began to try once more...

Kumiko attempted again to preform a new seal and again things semed to click in his head. There was just this feel she got when she got it right. Kumiko knew she had done it . "Tiger." She mumbled to herself having learned Dragon and tiger she was ready to move on to the next seal. She opened the book and began to read it again looking over the later seals and preparing to do the next ones.

"Ox" she muttered haivng seemed to hit a small stride and returning some of her confidence in her abilities, it seemed things were finally coming together as Kumiko had now grasped two seals in a row. To make sure she remembered them she rapidly passed her hands through them three times in a row saying the names each time. "Dragon, Tiger, Ox, Tiger, Dragon, Ox, Tiger, Dragon, Ox." she flew through the seals and decided on a whim to try the next one to see if she could go on without looking at the book.

So much about going out on a limb, Kumiko had had it for a moment but she lost it again. She knew she had three seals now that was one fourth of the total number of seals she needed to be learned, that had to account for something right?No, no it doesnt account for anything it is all or nothing fail or succede and you are failing you loser. Kumiko refused to lose to fall behind hsoe she knew she was better than. She began to study yet again.
