Hi there! I'm Akira. I've been interested in Japan since we had a Japanese student in our thid grade class. Her name was Miho and her father works for IBM so she moved to America. Miho never liked to speak English but she learned it very fast. We were good friends. She taught me my first handful of Japanese words. After she moved back to Yokohama I started studying on my own. In eighth grade I hooked up with a teacher who has been giving me private lessons for four years now.

Last summer I went to Japan on an Educational Tours program. It was such a blast! I visited Osaka, Hakone, Atami, Kamakura, Kyoto, and Tokyo. It's too bad the trip didn't last longer (only 9 days). Out of 45 people I was one of 4 with any knowledge of Japanese. I had some amazing experiences there and my Japanese improved majorly.

Originally I was going to go to Okinawa this summer, but it seems I'm going to keep saving my money and become an exchange student to Japan next year, when I graduate. I want to major in Japanese in college and someday teach it to get supplemental income (I want to be a writer and there's no guaranteed income for writers smile ).

I am by no means fluent in Japanese, but I am working hard to become so. This summer I'm going to an intensive Japanese study camp across the U.S. from where I live. I hope to have many good stories to share with you all!

I also hope to learn from you and be amazed by the superiority of all the knowledgeable people I've seen so far! Thanks for accepting me!

My name is Miggrator, and I'm 13 years old.

I've been interested in Japan and Japanese culture ever since my friend, Erina, came to our elementary school in 3rd grade. It's been a few years, and now we're in 7th grade.
Next summer, I might be going to Japan with Erina's family. I joined the guild when Koiyuki told me about it, because I don't want to make a fool of myself when and if I get there.

Erina's mother used to come with her and teach origami at recess in a corner of the playground. My brother was in the same 3rd grade class as Erina, and he took an immediate interest as well. His interest, however, stayed soley with origami, while I wanted to know everything I could about Japan. I have a Japanese dictionary, but it doesn't tell me how to pronounce the words. Every time I try to speak a few words of it, Erina says I've misspronounced every single one.

I came so I could learn some basic phrases that I could use in speaking to Erina's parents, brother, younger cousins, friends, and elderly grandmother.

I'm very glad that Koiyuki pointed this guild out to me, otherwise, Ii would've embarrassed my self and Erina as well.

Hello, I happen to be Yoshimasa. I am a great fan of anime and the over-all culture and art of Japan. I am by know means a scholar of the culture and know next to nothing about the language, but I love it all the same!

Hello All,

My name's Aeolya (durr) and I've been studying Japanese for about 3 years. I just finished Japanese 203 at my university, and I have no one to talk to now that I moved home for the summer. I'm looking forward to meeting people and having fun conversations! And yes, I love anime too.

Hello, I'm Noralynn (I go by the nickname of "Rio" mostly, though).

I. Am. So. Obsessed. With Japan and it's people/culture/everything.
It's almost not funny. *Alllmost*. xD
I would sell my soul to the hobo that lives in the parkinglot of Walmart, JUST for the chance to go to Japan for a day, and that's my supreme goal in life so far.

I'm 13 (gonna be 14 on July 15th). I just moved to Utah from Maui. And I kinda-sorta like Asian guys... -coughsniffcough- xD

Anyhow, I really want to learn more about Japan and the Japanese and their language... And no. I don't really care much for anime/manga (it's alright though, I'm usually just not interested). In fact, I've never read a manga in my life. o___o;

And so. That's it. ;3

I love anime and manga.

Well that's it for Japanese. I don't know anymore that I could use right now. Looking at that with the roumaji looks so weird. Anyways I love to learn history and Japan is one of the only places I haven't learned much about, so that's one thing I'm really hoping to learn here. And I hope to help others with volcaulary and get some help on grammar for myself. I am using the Rosetta Stone program to learn Japanese and am currently doing very well. I love to learn new languages and try new foods, although Japanese cusine is a little too bland for me, I'm sorry to say.

I love the Japanese language. (Duh.)

Hello. My name is BreAnna. I have casually studied Japanese language and history for several years but, as with most things, my knowledge never amounted to more than a few scattered bits of information.

I was struck to the heart when I played Final Fantasy VII. I had never experienced an immense awe from a game purely from the story. (I played FF X first and was quite spoiled by its graphics long before I could play FFVII.) It was as strong as a symphony of Beethoven's and completely embraced the technology it was built on.

We need more faith in great legends these days, I think. And so, I pursue learning so that I can be one of the lucky few game artists who create something graced.
