[[Erm, just so you know. There's no real "door" in the room our characters are in. It was busted down.]]
Ignis could've just easily told her to just use the lamp, since it was useless without a lightbulb anyway, but he wasn't the one she actually directed the question to, so he'd been pretending to be invisible. For all he cared, he wasn't in the room. He made a small nod at Elon's look of inquiry without looking at the girl at all.
Staring at the one page in the book, he tried to keep his mind from wandering off to certain thoughts. It really was a no-win situation. If he let his mind wander, he could truly act as though a certain girl wasn't in the same room as him, but then he'd end up thinking on some rather depressing things he usually avoided.
He was suddenly thinking of plans that revolved around him running off to be alone. But then he'd already told Elon that he'd show him some "action", as he'd put it, and it would've been rather awkward and rude to just bail out on him. He felt as though he'd dug himself into a pit that was full of traps intended to stab him where it really hurt. He usually didn't run away from people, but then the people he'd met never knew he wasn't exactly... Normal, and could only hurt his feelings about as much as a mosquito did to a full-grown human.

((Err... Sorry. sweatdrop ))
"Well you want a response from him." She turned to look back at Ignis. "And he isn't taking my apology which I understand. But it's a butter knife, not like it could cut someone open easily if it was even possible... Anyways, it's practically useless since there's no lightbulb... So just ignore me. I'm not that important anyways." She mumbled the last part and walked over to the lamp. Carefully, she started to try and pry the bottom of it off. It took a few minutes before she actually got it. Without thinking much, she turned it upside down and forgot to unplug the thing.
Sticking the knife in to take out some of the copper wires she fell backwards. Her heart was racing and she was trembling. Her breathing sounded choppy and slightly odd as she gulped a few times trying to calm down. The knife was laying on the ground infront of her. "I..." Nothing else would come out. Fate had never been electrocuted before seeing as she had never done anything that stupid.

Elon almost stood up to help Fate, but then had a second thought. He turned to Ignis and grinned, "How about you ask the lamp to apologize to her?" This might have seemed childish and pointless in their eyes, but it seemed like a fine test to him at the time.

"It's fine." Fate mumbled with a shaky voice. Walking to the outlet she unplugged it. With a trembling hand she picked the knife up again and sat down on the floor. She pryed a few wires out. "Copper... Steel.... Steel... Copper." She didn't want the steel and tossed them to the side. Holding up the two pieces of copper she tried to guess how long they were. Then turned to look back and asked out loud, "How long do you think this is?" Twisiting the ends together she held up about two feet of wire and didn't ask no one in particular in case one wouldn't answer her.

[[I can't really post much today, so you might want to leave my character in its silent state.]]
Ignis definately sure that he was digging himself further into the pit only to find even more traps. A part of had wanted to help Fate when she got electrocuted, but it was buried under the parts that were either still hurt or angry and her. He wanted to shoot Elon a dirty look, he couldn't get the lamp to apologize anyway. He continued to ignore her and "read" his boook.

((This is probably my last post until I get home tomorrow unless someone gets on and responds before I leave.))
Not a word came from Ignis. "I said I was sorry okay. It's just that... Well. I dunno really." She said with a sigh as she continued to gently pull out wires. "I'm not good with other people around. Or so I'm told by the therapists at my old school I went to... They all had the same opinion: bipolar and queer. Maybe it was because of the school I attended. Or maybe it was because of the fact that I don't really know who I am." Pulling out a few more wires she twisted all the copper ones together. "But it seems like you do. I guess it just really bugs me to be around people who know who they are in life." She turned and looked at him. "It just makes me feel like I shouldn't be here compared to everyone else." With an uneasy laugh she turned the other way and looked at Elon. "I'd say this is about... Three feet eh? Not shielded but it should still work out right." Looking at all the wires she sighed.
Steel... Steel... Steel... Not sure what that is... Her thoughts remained on the wires infront of her as she tried to push that little speech as far away as it would go. "Aha! Iron!" Taking it she pushed everything else away and went to work.
Pulling the fork from her backpocket she also grabbed the nail from her front pocket. Setting the jar infront of her she took the corked jar and aligned the nail so it would make a clean cut. Pushing it as far in as it would go, she then took the knife and pressed down on the top. With the fork now, she pulled it back out. Repeating the process over again she was making some progress.

Who I am in life huh... Ignis really found that he was sighing a lot since his arrival in the manor, perhaps it would become a habit pretty soon. Just 'cause I know, doesn't mean I'll be happy with my role. He resisted the urge to take out his wallet and take a look at a certain photo he'd placed inside, Elon would inquire about it and he didn't want to explain to anyone. As stubborn as he was, he knew he wasn't very good at holding grudges or anything, he couldn't really retain any strong emotions for very long anyway. Especially after some sleep, he'd probably wake up dazed, calm and leave the feelings from the other day behind. I'll talk it out when I feel like it... Probably tomorrow...
He turned back to face Elon. "Well... Book or coins?" He himself would've actually preferred to use the coins, he wasn't really "acquainted" with the book yet and didn't know what it might do. Coins, on the other hand, were pretty predictable and didn't really matter how long he'd had them for. That, and because they were easier to animate due to their small size.

Stretching her arms out, she moved them around. They were starting to get stiff just like her fingers which, she had just cracked. Moving her head from side to side she went back to what she was doing.
With the iron wires, she stuck them through the holes and attached the nail to it. Putting the cork on she twisted the other ends together with the copper. "Alright what comes after this..." Her voice trail off and she looked back at the lamp socket and her little project. "Got it." She mumbled to herself and started to play with the other stuff. Without turning around since she was focusing on this she said loudly, "Sorry but I also need to use the other lamp." When her little wire project was done, she stood up and unplugged the other lamp in the room. Carrying it to where she was sitting, Fate toyed with it for a few minutes. Looking around she sighed. How was she suppose to hook up the wires to the light bulb socket.... Unless. Then it hit her. With a lot of determination, she tried to pry the metal off the thing. A few minor shocks made her drop the knife. With a shaking hand, she'd just pick it up again and continue working as if nothing happen. "Prepare to be amazed fella's." She said with a grin on her face.
Twisting the wires together, the jar was now hooked up to the lamp. No light came from it though. "Er... One second." She scratched her head from the floor and realized it had to be plugged in. "Oh! Hahah. Right." Pushing herself up, Fate took the experiment to the night stand and set it on top carefully. "Easy does it... Don't break or fall apart now." She whispered to the project. Then, plugging it in she crossed her fingers. A faint glow came from it and started to get slightly bright. They now officially had one light bulb. Though it was slightly dull and not as bright as a store bought one, she had put her heart and soul into it.

Elon opened his mouth to answer Ignis, but was once again interrupted. He stared at the light for a moment, smiling at Fate. "Cool," he said, and turned back to Ignis. "Let's see a coin. I've always wondered what the life of a coin was like..." he trailed off, lying down with his head on the pillow, but with his head turned and eyes open to see what Ignis would do.

(( I'd be lost in the roleplay too if 1) I'm barely ever here or 2) I don't read. Though I cannot blame people for not being here, I can, however blame people who don't even bother to read the first post.
Plus, the plot would move a bit faster if people slept. If I told when events came, people would probably just skim through the days. I've been saying this a lot, but if you do so much in just one day, what would you do in the next 29 days? Mystery not quite that complex. May take a little thinking, but not that difficult once the plot moves on. ))
Day 2 2AM (( Time added for a lightbulb scavenger hunt + project ))

Fate started to get tired. Something that didn't seem normal. "I'm gunna unplug this and catch some sleep. Bye." She walked out of the room. Not knowing what rooms were safe to be in or occupied, she went to the library. Finding a overstuffed arm chair she quickly fell asleep.

He made a mental note to mention the fact that he thought the hand-made light bulb was pretty impressive during the talk that he was probably going to have with the girl sometime later in the day.
Ignis dug into his pockets and took out a penny. He placed it in the middle of his open palm and held it out so that Elon could see it clearly. Closing his eyes he said, "I don't necessarily have to talk to it. That isn't really part of what I can do." It could be compared to talking to a dog or a cat, they still moved whether you talked to them or not, but you'd have to talk to them to get them to do something specific. After he finished speaking, he opened his eyes and, at the same time, the penny rolled down his arm and "jumped" onto the bed.
Huh... This one's a little hyper... He thought as he watched the penny roll, spin and jump around on the uneven surface of the bed. Show off... He caught it between two fingers, ignoring the penny's struggles to jump out again, before tossing it over to Elon. He then took off the thin jacket he had on and tossed over to the foot of the bed. Deciding that it was probably time to get some shut-eye, he pulled the blanket over himself and lay on his back.
"I'm gonna get some sleep now. Do what you want with that penny, but if you want to keep it, I suggest you weigh it down." He said, yawning. The things he animated stayed that way until he cancelled his "gift" out, it wouldn't matter whether he himself was conscious or not. "It'll probably run away if you don't." Closing his eyes, he slowly drifted off to sleep.

Elon gazed in wonder at the penny. He had thought that it would sprout arms and legs, but it was still of the same form, just jumpy. He caught it and clamped it within his hands, peeking at it through a hole between the two. "Amazing... Night, Ignis." He put the penny in his back pocket, where it couldn't move, but for the rare buzz of effort, and fell asleep.
