Kira's eyes widened as she heard the roar, and she kicked her heals off, running to the tables and diving under one, holding tightly to the Zubat. "Oh no, this can't be good...." She muttered, tipping the table over to use as a shield between her and the angered pokemon. She wasn't quite sure about it's range, but she prayed that she was far enough away to be safe.

Looking down at the Zubat in her arms, she gently stroked it with trembling fingers. "Are you alright?"

Quil remained in his semi-crouched, semi-upright position, glaring angrily in the direction that the Ghastly had run off to. He was silent now, save for the low growl he kept up as a deterrent for any further surprise appearances. In his mind, though, the highstrung Typhlosion kept up a running litany of foul words and phrases he had learned from humans and pokemon alike- throwing in a few he'd created himself every once in a while.

If he noticed the two humans who had been in his line of fire, he didn't give any indications of it. Furthermore, he gave no signs of concern or even awareness of the fact that he had injured at least one of them, or had attracted the attention of any of the numerous humans occupying the room. In fact, the only thing Quil was concerning himself with at the moment was whether or not he'd managed to hit that damned Ghastly...And whether or not he could manage to do it again.

It simply didn't do to startle an irritated Quil. The act was generally not a very healthy one.

Anya's eyes were not on sam she was paying attention to the fire pokemon she had seen that stance befor she knew it ment some thing bad was about to happen befor she could warn Sam she was pushed on to the floor. It seemed fate wanted her to become good friends with the cafe floor.

She herd the sound of the flames overhead she did not need to look up to know they were there, as shey lay there anya thought she smelled something buring arealized that Glinda was close to the flames. she looked at sam with surprize

"I think I am fine but are you ok Mrs. Glinda you are not on fire are you." she was visble shaken but ok

Fenrir still had his head turned, brows knitted in worry. Two girls...they had been caught in the attack. Or at least they had been very near. He looked around quickly for Kira, sighing as he noticed she had hidden behind an overturned table. What a spectacular bunker!

He looked for the few others he knew as well. Hayden, Anya... Anya had been one of the girls near the fire blast, but she was flat on the ground, and looked rather un-toasted. Good, good.

He was still concerned for the other girl, though. Terribly so. There was the urge to bolt and do something, the urge to running-tackle the Typhlosion...but instead he stayed in his crouch. Tackling an already startled Typhlosion was bad news, and he wasn't sure what else he could do. Oh, he hated feeling helpless!

He whimpered a little, and then turned back to his pals. "That was...some crazy stuff, huh?" he said weakly, smiling wanly. He pulled out some candy- this time for himself- and chewed at it. If there was a problem candy couldn't fix...he didn't want to deal with it. "The important thing is to stay mellow...if we all run around, we'll just upset the big guy more." he remarked, occasionally throwing glances at Quil to see what he was up to...and if they should move.

"Just as long as you're alright, Anya..." Samantha forced a shaky smile, pointedly avoiding answering Anya's other inquiries. "I was afraid I might have hurt you there. I'm not exactly err...the most 'delicate' of females..." She chuckled at the sad attempt at a joke. Nothing like being the butt of one's own joke, eh? It usually worked at least...

Only now realizing that her back felt raw and hurt like hell, she hurried to rid herself of the remainder of what had once been her faery wings. Not that there was much left of them, but she didn't need anything touching her back right now. She gingerly shrugged the rigged contraption off, cringing noticably in pain, despite her best efforts not to show it. "Ow..." She craned her neck, trying to look back over her shoulder, but to no avail.

So much for surveying the damage. Irrationally, she shot a very pissed look at the Typhlosion across the room, muttering darkly to herself more than anyone else. "How could they let such a beast run loose like that? Turning his rage loose on whatever moves, innocent or guilty, with no mind as to what he destroys in his fury? Sickening..."

Of course, even Samantha wasn't dumb enough to follow her own righteous anger and attack the Pokemon. Even if he had almost hurt Anya.

Still feeling oddly woozy, Samantha knew better than to try and get back to her feet like this. She needed longer to rest....even if her back was still hurting like hell.

Literally. Fire and brimstone and all that jazz.

As with the human girls who had been accidentally swept up in Quil's need to attack whatever had suddenly laughed in his ear, the twitchy Typhlosion made no signs that he even realized that Fenrir and his two friends even existed. Even less did he show any signs that he intended to move in their direction. Currently, the human's current plan of action seemed to be the best one.

However, Samantha had no such luck. The pathetic human underneath her warranted no attention beyond the irritated twitch of an ear at her mewlings, but Sam herself? The growl emanating from Quil increased slightly in volume, in response to the challenging glare she sent him, and her mutterings about how much of a beast he was. Che. It was her own fault if she couldn't move it in time to avoid his attack. He'd hardly been aiming for her.

No, Quil was much too interested in that Ghastly to indulge a human in a glaring contest. If she wanted to go ahead and challenge him physically... well, it was her own funeral.

"I am ok it is not like I have not made friends witht he floor yet we have gotten to know each other relly well." a new scrach had apeared on her cheek though it was not a big one at all she did not pay attention to the stinging when she looked at Sam.

"Glinda you are hurt arn't you. You got hurt because you protected me." she looked at Sam as she removed her mask. "Let me get you some water and towls and I do not know what else." she thought fast. "Do not move I will be right back." she ran off avoiding any pudles of punch on the floor befor she got to were the water bottles were stored and granned one and ran back sliding as she stopped infront of sam witht eh bottle of water

"For you Glinda."

Sam was still glaring angrily at the Pokemon, not realizing how wrapped up she was in her own thoughts until she jumped at the sound of Anya's voice. She shook her head slightly, as if tossing off her dark musings. "Err...thanks, Anya." What was with the 'Glinda' business still? If she was Glinda, judging by all the names...did that make Anya Dorothy? It hurt her head right now to be honest, so she'd have to think more on that later..

"You know...you can call me Samantha, if you'd prefer," she offered, not sure she could remember to answer to another name like that. Sighing softly, she struggled with the bottle for a moment, only now realizing her hands were shaking. Once she managed to get the cap off, she took a long drink, then paused before leaning over and pouring the rest so that it ran slowly down her back. Stung like hell...but at the same time, it felt like it was drawing out some of the heat. You were supposed to put cold water on a burn right? Or was that just in cooking? Did it matter? Who knew...

"I could really do with some aloe about now...like a tubfull..." she muttered under her breath.

"Sa man tha That is a complicated name I think I will stick to calling you glinda." she looked to were sam was glaring and saw Quil she ssighed looking at him and then at sam.

"Glinda you stay here do not worry I will go over there to wak why her blew fire at us." she then added in a wisper to Sam. "May be he thinks that he is the wizard instead of mr wizard." with a smile she walked over to the fire breathing quil.

And with a smile she said "hi there My name is Anya why did you try to toast me and Glinda I do not think that we did any thing to hurt you. Did we."

Quil snorted, surprised that the human had dared to speak to him, much less approach him. And at the moment... Quil really wasn't someone you wanted to surprise. At all.

He snarled at her, his ruff of fire flaring in irritation and a few licks of flame escaping his muzzle, warning her from coming any closer without words. He would have responded to her, really, if he'd thought that she could understand plain pokemon... if only to tell her to buzz off. To put it nicely. However, since she could not, he did not. Instead, the Typhlosion merely brushed past her roughly, almost shoving her out of his way, hoping she would get the hint and leave him alone. As much as he wanted to find that Ghastly, he didn't want to waste any time being talked at by some idiot human.

"ANYA!"

Samantha hissed softly, with veiled urgency. Her injuries had kept her from moving quickly enough to stop Anya once she'd realized where she was going. She had NOT just dived in front of a Typhlosion's fire just to watch the child commit suicide! "GET BACK HERE!"

Her heart practically stopped, thinking she was about to watch the untimely demise of this eccentric new friend of hers...then almost dying of shock as the girl got away from the incident relatively unharmed.

"I don't believe this..." she muttered, shaking her head tiredly. "Anya! PLEASE, get back over here and leave him alone before you get hurt!" Maybe it was a bit harsh, but if the child didn't know better than to leave angry, violent Pokemon alone, they she wouldn't last long without some quick instruction in the way life worked.

she stood there amazed as she watched quil. she could hear sam behind her. she did not move worried that is she moved quil would charcoalize her right then and there.

And to her amazment quil pushed her out of the way as he walked by she stood. she sighed ans smiled she did not know what to do but she guessed quil needed some alone time.

Walking back over to sam she sat near her. "I think he needs some alone time to think." she said to sam and then she saw the fear. "I did some thing bad didn't I? I am sorry I will not do it again." she looked at the floor.

Hayden Rutherford

((Combo post for Sam and Hayden 'cause I'm lazy and need to get to bed...other posts will pick up tomorrow when I'm not completely braindead...))

Having gone to the kitchen to retrieve some tomato juice for Diana after her run-in with the Stunky, Hayden had missed most of the commotion. The bright flare up of light from Quil's attack had reflected even in the kitchen and something told Hayden that whatever that light had been was not something he'd want to write off. Rushing back in the room, he arrived just in time to see Anya's little stunt, nearly stopping his own heart.

He slammed the large can of tomato juice down on the table as well as a can opener. Diana could take care of herself. Meanwhile, Hayden was stalking over to where Anya had rejoined Samantha. Why did her name sound so familiar...? It was starting to nag at the back of his mind. No matter right now...

"Alright, what the hell is going on out here? I leave for five minutes..." He crossed his arms, falling silent as Sam stepped in to relate an abbreviated version of recent events, feeling a bit guilty for yelling at Anya after seeing that look....even if she was completely justified.

"I don't believe this..." the guard muttered, missing the slight grin from Samantha at hearing her own words echoed back at her. "Just a moment, okay?" he told the two girls before turning to the crowd and raising his voice over the remaining chaos regarding the wandering Pokemon.

"LISTEN! I know none of you are exactly fond of my being here...but trust me, you're better off with me here than someone else, especially an entire squad. If we don't keep things quiet around here, those squads will be in here in a matter of seconds and trust me, the party is over." Frowning, he crossed his arms, hoping to carry at least a trace of authority with this crowd. Not likely...but he could hope. "Just keep things responsible, okay? No killing anyone, or miaming...or setting the building on fire. Think you can all manage to do that? Please..."

Sighing, Hayden shook his head and turned back to the girls. Something about the older woman was worrying him. "Alright, I'm no doctor, but if you don't mind, we probably should take a look at your back." Then he blushed a bit at the look Samantha shot him. "I didn't mean anything, I swear. Trust me," he added hurriedly.

"...fine. Not that I have anything to hide really..." Samantha rolled her eyes, then shifted carefully to turn and show her bare back.

Hayden cringed reflexively. Though, her back was red, he'd actually expected much worse based on the story he'd been told. "Well...it could certainly be worse..." he admitted, shaking his head sadly. "Just a minute, I'll be right back." He paused on his way back to the kitchen, debating whether he should or not... "No more barbeques while I'm gone, okay?"

Samantha made a face, wondering again if she was sure she could trust this guy. He was one of those creep guards... Then again, that had sounded like the kind of joke she would have made...then got glared at for. She barely had time for a resigned sigh of her own before Hayden returned.

"Ice, a wet towel, and some burn cream. What, it IS a kitchen," he explained as if this was the most obvious thing in the world and answered all questions possible. "Alright,' he smirked, trying to keep the situation light. "Time for Dr. Rutherford to get to work."

Samantha rolled her eyes, but either Hayden didn't see...or he didn't care. Either way, she turned her bare back towards him again, fully aware that she needed someone to take care of this for her, since she couldn't very well see or reach it herself.

Hayden set about packing the wet towel with some ice. "This is going to sting...but we need to draw out the extra heat if we can."

"Go ahead. I can take it."

Hayden shot her a look, missing the fact that her fists were clenched tightly in her lap. "Alright then..."

Samantha inhaled sharply with a hiss, realizing it wasn't so bad after the initial shock. Still hurt though.

This was going to take a while...but Hayden wasn't going to be too willing to wander back to the kitchen and leave this little 'party' alone again for a while.

she watched hayden and sam and then relized she had never intodude them to one another. "Mr lion this is Glinda the good she saved my life. and Glinda this is Mr Lion he saved me also." she smiled happy now that her two friends had met each other.

"I do not know how to do fire magic though Mr wizard can blow fire and so can the fake wizard but Mr wizard only uses his magic for good." she nooded though looked concered as she watched Sam in pain. "Glinda if you are good i will bring you and Mr lion some browies I saw some on the table and chocolate always makes things better also bandades make thing better also but I do not have any bandaids so we will stick to chocolate?" it was her pholisphy on life any thing can be cured with a smile bandades and chocolate.

Having had his fill of these absurd happenings, Quil trundled slowly, and grumpily towards the corner he had occupied in the beginning of the party. He paid no mind to the words of the guard- what did he care if this squad of armed humans he was talking about came? Che, it might actually be a good way to relieve the remainder of his stress if they did...

The comment about his being a 'fake wizard' solicited an irritated huff. He didn't want to be included in that insane human's storybook delusions, anyway. Fake....Huh. A slight smile appeared on Quil's face as he brooded over the word. He'd like to challenge the 'real' Wizard, whatever the hell that was, and see who really was the 'fake'.

With this thought to cheer him up, Quil was in a much better mood by the time that he got back to his corner.
