When Siri said the word 'car,' something stirred in the deepest regions of Monollius's mind. It sounded faintly familiar, but he could not tell why. He did not even know what a car was, and was about to ask when multiple members of the party became edgy. Threats of people in the woods seemed to be the verdict. The Arch-Sage wasn't worried, but he was certainly curious.

"Well, by grace, let them come forth. No need to be hostile lest they show desire for bloodshed. If it be just one, they are vastly outnumbered, and would be undoubtedly overpowered."

Aria let out a shriek as something cool and smooth wrapped around her ankles. It was the snake! She hadn't really killed it, and it had come back for her! "Get the hell away from me!" she snarled, glaring down at what she expected to be black and scaly.

It wasn't. Aria blinked. "Just-" she broke off as a small, borderline hysterical giggle bubbled up. "Just vines." She took a deep breath. "Well, you're not a problem, are you?" She took a deep breath, trying to replicate the feeling of sunlight shooting thought her that she'd had just before the snake's destruction. Nothing happened. She glanced at the vines with growing consternation as they started wrapping around her torso, pinning her wings rather painfully to her back. "Great," she mumbled, "Of course."

Siri moved swiftly back into a relaxed stance without realizing she had ever moved in the first place. If everyone else was unconcerned with the stranger watching them, than she needed to act like she was, too. It was always better to fit in, to go with the crowd.

Siri blinked and frowned, shaking her head a little. Where had that come from? She wasn't one to normally follow the trends, and yet here she was, acting like she was content with this world when really it felt like there was some enormous wieght on her chest, constricting her lungs, suffocating her.

She closed her eyes and took deep, even breaths, forcing herself to remain calm. If Monollius and TK, citizens of this planet, were at ease, who was she to differ? Still, she couldn't help shooting a dark glare into the trees and muttering, "I blame them if it's some giant monster coming to eat us all."

TK closed her eyes, then opened them. "well, the vines have pretty much got her tied up, in any case. they can be very loyal if you treat them nicely. lets have a look at who are little onlooker is? its always best to be on the cautious side, in any case. she walked calmly over to the tree line, barely noticing the dead grasses turning to green and twisting up where she stepped. she leaned on a tree and inspected the newcomer. "well well well. its wing-girl. i suppose at least your not one of the spirits, from up the mountain." she looked at the vines still creeping up the girls torso, and moved her hand in a strange gesture, which meant. 'Its safe'. she made another one, which meant 'thank you'. the vines almost shyly dropped back to the ground and seemingly slithered back into the shade.

Newcomer, please don't ignore me. Doragon thought as he pulled off the amulet, putting it into one of his pockets. He decided to save the amulet. When a new great enchanter came he could give it to them and they could surely be able to re-create it. Doragon got up and started walking towards the new-comer and the rest of the group. This was the basic thing of his life. He'd travel around a bunch, rarely ever actually living in his house and when he met a group they'd ignore him or run away and he'd follow until he got bored with them. It was late afternoon getting dark. Doragon came to where the others were with the new-comer and he sat down cross legged. He straightened out his legs and collapsed to the ground on his back, laying down and using his own hands as a pillow.

Aria glared at the green haired girl. "That was you? You almost gave me a heart attack, you-"

A chill ran down her spine, and she instinctively spun to face what had caused it, a boy a little older than her, who was in the process of flopping down on the ground. The sunlight feeling welled up inside her, not just down her arm, but through her entire body. "What are you?" she said in a soft, deadly voice that was not quite her own.

"What are you isn't a nice thing to say, unless you're reffering to species in which case I'm half elf, quarter human and quarter fairy. If you're just saying who are you in a rude way I'd be Doragon Akuma." Doragon had sat up to speak to the girl and now flopped onto his back again.

Siri moved closer to the group now by the trees, reaching them in time to hear the newcomer ask what the boy was. She frowned at the coldness in the other girl's voice, instinctively tensing up at the tone. She looked warily between the girl and the boy, who seemed to be polite enough, feeling a thick tension in the air.

Briefly, she wondered if every encounter with a sentient being would result in an argument, or if that was just how it was here. It that was custom, Siri felt she didn't want to meet too many strangers. The act of her emotions flipping every five seconds was beginning to wear her patience down.

((... Um... Is he lying? I thought he was a demon.))

Aria glared at him for a few more seconds of frosty silence, then blinked and switched her attention back to Kat without any apparent awareness that it had been elsewhere. "...Idiot! If I was a monster, or, I guess, spirit thing, those vines wouldn't have done s**t, so I'm guessing you thought I was something else. Did it occur to you to come and ask? All of you against me; I doubt I posed any significant threat."

She stopped for breath, then paused, taking in one of the other girl's hair. It had blue tips, which for some reason made her ire fade. "Are they from earth, too?" she asked, her tone as close to apologetic as it would get.

(9actually, according to his bio, he only changes into a demon once a month, although his amulet contains it. he's not actually a demon. he's telling the truth, but not all of it, basically.))

TK raised an eyebrow at the exchange between boy and girl, but said nothing. she looked to the winged girl, and said. "yes, she's from earth. anyways, technically im called TK. Kats just resting in here for the moment." she tapped her temple.. "its a bit difficult to explain, and its all pretty much theoretical, but basically all of the people from earth have their souls transferred to bodies here while they sleep, however the bodies already have souls. so either they repress the souls, become repressed by the souls, or manage to work together. Me and Kat are working together right now. im the person who normally inhabits this body, and im a dryad, as you probably guessed." she looked at the tree she was leaning on and calmly stepped into it. a few seconds passed and she emerged from one on the opposite side. she sat down a few feet from the newcomer, cross legged, and, although evening was approaching and she was only wearing a leather jerkin and short leather trousers, she didn't seem to feel the cold. she bound her green hair up behind her head in a leather thong.
((this is the soft beige leather im talking about, not black or dark brown
also, if you want to change anything about this, go ahead. my characters just making educated guesses, and the truth about this might be different))

Aria stared at TK for a few seconds, her expression skeptical, then a smile began twitching at the corners of her mouth. Suddenly she giggled. "Right. I mean, I suppose, with everything else happening I have no reason to disbelieve you. Except for one important fact: I still look like myself, except for the obvious." She gestured to her wings. "Plus, I think I would know if I was sharing someone else's body."

She giggled again, then frowned. "Oh, there was something I was meaning to ask, if I met up with anyone again." She put her hand to her forehead. "I completely forgot. Anyway," she continued, shaking her head, "Back in the real world, I heard about someone falling asleep at the wheel of their car. A boy. The Doctors were saying something about how parts of his brain were active that shouldn't have been active." She paused, looking uncomfortable. "So does that sound like anything like something that's happened to any of you? Because if it does, we are in some seriously deep s**t."

Siri blinked at the girl's mood swing between her and the boy. It was...odd. Then again, what in this world wasn't? The girl's question of Siri's origin was answered by TK. When TK began explaining once more about her soul theory, however, Siri zoned out. She still wasn't sure how she felt about that. For now, she wasn't going to try and push the other soul inside this body to come out and play. When whoever it was decided to be social, Siri would let her. Until then, though, she wasn't going to force anything.

When the winged girl began to speak of Earth, Siri snapped back to reality. This reality, at least. She frowned and shook her head. "No, I'm a girl back...on..." Siri trailed off, remembering what Francis had said a short while earlier. "That boy," She nodded in Francis' general direction, "Said he got hit by a car back on Earth, and thought he was dead...It sounds a bit too convinient for a coincidence."

Tk rolled her eyes at Aria. "look, your in a different universe, a different dimension even. it stands to reason that your probably in your counterpart, dopplegangers, parallel versions, whatever you want to call them, in this universe." she looked to her. "and at first Kat didn't even realise i was in here. i didn't even know anything had happened. you most likely are sharing somebody elses body, without either of you realising it. it was only when Kat acknowledged that she wasn't alone in here that i started to worm my way out." she listened to the siri and aria talk about the boy in the car. "that might work. and if you come here when you're asleep, then he would be experiencing things here.his body might be mirroring his souls experience. there is an intricate link..." she thought. "anyway, Kat just fell asleep on earth. speaking opf which, she'll probably.." she trailed off, and her form seemed to become translucent, then, still partially transparent. she slumped to one side.

*~*

Kat sat up, and looked around. she heard the shrill beeps of her alarm and, sighing, she got up and switched it off. she got dressed and headed downstairs. she grabbed a piece of toast, a5te it along with a glass of oJ, slung her bag over her shoulder and dashed outside, checking her watch. she reached her stop just as the double-decker pulled up, and, flashing her pass at the driver, she got on, walked up the steps to the top deck, and flung herself down on one of the seats. she rooted in her bag for her book, then leaned back and began to read.

Kat hurriedly stuffed her book back in her bag as the bus pulled up to the gates, and walked downstairs, checking her watch. just then the start of school bell rang, and she hurried to her tutor.

((If Kat was inside TK but not being active and letting TK control then when she dissappeared wouldn't it make no difference because Kat was inside TK at the time? Just wondering.))

((shadow has a point.))

Monollius listened to the hubbub these adolescents made. They were so hasty to build conflict, he almost laughed several times. The passion of youth had long since left him. Then again, so had most of his memory concerning such things. He shook his head, letting the thoughts slide away.

Then he was struck with that feeling again...

"Excuse me if you will, but what, might I inquire, is a car? Pardon me if I sound the part of infant for a moment, but it has become apparent your world and ours vary greatly."

Perhaps if he knew what a car was, he could further understand why exactly it struck him so.
