Quote: I'm personally not a very big fan of male genital piercings... just seems like it would get in the way. Female genital piercings is a whole different story though... Anyways, I'd have to say that I'm addicted to piercings... I have 3 lobe piercings on each ear, an industrial, 2 snug piercings, a conch piercing and a labret piercing for a grand total of 12 (I think... I've always counted the industrial as two). I've never had any problems as far as jobs go, and in my industry (photography), it's unlikely that I will... I've only ever received compliments and people telling me that they've never seen so many piercings done with class. Future plans... I've been mulling over it for a while. Maybe an eyebrow piercing and perhaps some dermal implant on the back of my neck, but I'm still not sure. ironically, one of my female friends was talking about this subject the other day... she said it made the sex better, to her surprise. i said "thanks for sharing" xp

Im addicted to piercings, after my first (center lip) I was addicted. I have both nostrils, septum, lipx3, nipples, and my hood.. for ear piercings I have both lobes at a 0g and 2 more on eachside. Piercings that I plan to get in the future are my nipples done again, bellybutton, smiley, septum a second time, one more on each side of my lip, and cheeks. I absolutly hate tongue piercings, but on guys it looks good. I would never get that done personally. I dont really have to tone myself down for a job since I work in my house, next year Im working towards my tattoo apprenticeship and piercing apprenticeship so i guess I'll never have to tone myself down, which is good cause Im as stuborn as a mule anyways. xd

Actually most piercings are made of surgical steel, and surgical steel does not set off metal detectors or work on magnets.

I am however, 100% positive that magnets don't work though.

Most of my piercings are surgical steel, but I have a pair of earrings that are titanium. They're much lighter than surgical steel, and since I have these rings that I wear on my ears constantly, I think it's good that the biggest (the first ones on my lobes) rings are light.
My industrial is made of teflon (the actual bar) and the end bits are surgical steel.
And yeah, that's a hella lot of piercings, grim troll. =o

I've never had any problems with metal detectors, and back in high school physics class, I tried to get a magnet to stick to my earrings and it didn't work, so there we go.

LOL, why not? idk, it just seems to me that if women have more trouble with metal detectors than men, it's probably not because of something obvious like forgetting to take off a belt or take change out of your pocket (the change thing especially, since women tend to carry purses). and when those simple options are ruled out, it seems to me like the reason may not be something i need to familiarize myself with...
