"I don't think it's worth... dwelling on. In good time, they'll be put in their right place," Kakaru said confidently, as the Unforgivable Curses ran through his head. "I don't know much about this uprising of a Dark Lord, but I do know that it will be good news for us. Once we join such a force, limitations and laws would be useless to someone who stands for everything against people like Dumbledore, and that point, people shall get what they deserve."

He fell silent as he watched the boy carefully, wondering what was going through his head. He probably wanted to cower in fear, for now, everybody else was dead set against him. "As much as we're considered the filth of the school, we're also stronger than the rest of them. There's a reason some of us are notorious for being knowledgeable and powerful; maybe people spit on us, but they also get out of our way when we pass by. They define us as "evil", but it's an excuse to cover up fear. We read books and dare cast spells that people bypass, just because they've been labeled 'Dark magic'. Maybe now he'll cower in fear of people like Potter, but in good time he'll learn to fend for himself with the influence and guidance of us older students. I'm not sure how much of what I say is correct, I can only talk based on my peers' and my own personal experiences..." Kakaru trailed off, hoping that his speculations were correct.

Kakaru followed her gaze to the girl, and nodded in agreement. "I'd like to get her before she goes back to her Common Room to gossip about all she's heard, but I don't see how that'd be possible..." he murmured, as he considered the routine of going straight to the Common Room after dinner, which didn't leave them anytime to adjust her memory.

Suddenly, Arduro bent her head over to Asakawa's and began whispering something. Hastily, Angel looked away and over at the students being Sorted.

The first kid to have been Sorted, a scrawny, sandy-haired boy, named "Aspenn, James," was put into Slytherin.

No surprise... someone that weak looking, he was supposed to be in Slytherin, thought Angel wryly.

"Archer"..., "Baines"..., "Bessermeiseney"..., "Byrthin"... "Chang"... the Sorting went on until Professor McGonagall called "Zabini, Parke," who was Sorted into Slytherin.

As Professor McGonagall took away the stool, Angel looked back at Asakawa, still whispering with Arduro. Abusing Angel couldn't have taken that long, so now she thought they were probably exchanging sweet talk. She was so intent on finding out what they were up to that Dumbledore's voice from the top of the High Table made her jump.

There he was, with his usual pointed hat and star-spangled golden robes, his arms extended wide, his lips in a welcoming smile at the students, and his bright blue eyes sweeping over them all.

"Another year!" said Dumbledore cheerfully. "I happily welcome back our old students. I hope that your holidays have been somewhat good, and I am very, very sorry to hear about those who had suffered deaths in their families.

"But, on a lighter note, I welcome to Hogwarts our new students!" There was a great deal of applause. "I am happy and always ready to help our respected faculty to lead a new generation of witches and wizards into well being!

"However, now is not the time to drive your minds into long-winded speeches--not when your tummies are pitifully empty. Let's all help ourselves!"

The students applauded, although some halfheartedly. A wonderful smell met all of them as platters and platters of food and flagons of juice appeared before them.

Angel sighed and prayed, then helped herself to mashed potatoes, some chicken, pork chop, beef stew, fried bacon, gravy, and iced tea and began to eat joyfully, chatting with her fellow Gryffindors.

There was a time to think about Asakawa and Arduro. Right now, however, Angel just cotemplated her return to Hogwarts.

Machi came late. She sat down and looked at the children. A couple teachers glared at her and one leaned over to speak to her but she waved him away with her hand. She simply nodded. And with a nod, the headmaster gave an odd grunt.
"Well, you cant expect me to starve..."
She muttered so only Dumbledore could hear. She stood up and walked away from the table. Her robe flowed softly as she walked past the slytherians and gryphandors. Opening the doors to the great hall she left, and none of the other teachers bothered to go after her.

"I know I shouldn't get worked up over it, but it just sucks." Atra watched the girl turn away as soon as she realized they had seen her, and had to stifle a laugh. Really, she was acting like they were a basilisk, afraid to meet their eyes from fear of being petrified.

"Evil is definitely a point of view. I'm sure the cows in a slaughter house think of humans as evil, while we're just murdering them to eat." She wrinkled he nose as a plate of beef appeared in front of her. "And, with that pleasant mental image, I'm pretty sure I've lost my appetite."

She was thinking about Kakaru's last statement when the teacher from the train entered the Great Hall, sat down, and left within minutes. No one questioned her departure.

"What do you think the chances are of us pulling off the same feat?" she asked quietly. "We could leave earlier than the rest and find somewhere along the path to Gryffindor Tower to ambush her. Upper classmen don't usually travel in herds more than five. The problem with that, though, is that there are so many different routes she could take. The chances of us picking the same one are slim."

"... and I accidentally picked a bowtruckle or two for the firewood, I only just got away," Angel recalled about her summer as some of her fellow Gryffindors to whom she was talking laughed.

It was a somewhat joyful dinner. The students laughed, happily recounting moments of their vacation as they ate and drank their way through the feast. Unsurprisingly, Slytherin table was quite silent albeit came an occasional ring of laughter. They, Angel thought, were probably discussing Voldemort and who knew what other idiotic idea.

Angel played with her utensils as she waited for the desserts to come, reflecting that Asakawa was probably cutting up his steak right now as though it was Angel. She had to be prepared.

Kakaru tilted his head as he contemplated the dilemna. "I'm not sure how we could work around that, unless we hid in front of the Common Room, but I'm afraid that then, someone is bound to be there with her, which could be inconvenient. What if she gets owled saying she needs to meet Professor Sprout at Greenhouse 2? It should be isolated down there, and I'm sure we could get done what we needed to before Professor Sprout came." Kakaru ate the cold steak that had been stuck on his fork for several minutes, and lay forgotten on his plate till just then. "Or somewhere else to your choosing, it was just an example."

He didn't think much of the person who just entered and left, except that it was rather peculiar and rude to do something like that. He assumed it was another teacher, though wasn't interested. If someone was going to do that, then they didn't want to be part of the Hogwart's community, which even the exiled Slytherins were part of. It wasn't worth his time to ponder.

"Well, regardless of what our plan is, shouldn't we leave now and get a head start? It's the only official step in our plot, and we might as well get a start on it, yes? Besides, she keeps staring at me, and I'll hex her if I stay any longer," Kakaru said, with a menacing look in his eyes as he glared at the girl. "Have you ever used an Unforgivable?" He asked, as it was relevant to his thoughts. "Not that I'd plan on using one on /her/, but I'm merely curious."

((I'm so sorry to say this, because I love my character and really enjoy this roleplay a ton, but I'm going to have to drop out of it for now. Between school starting back up again -I'm a senior in high school who's currently taking two AP classes and an honors math class that is way out of my depth- and running my own RPG, I never have the time to post. I enjoyed my time here, and would like nothing more than to keep roleplaying, but right now I just can't. Sorry! Maybe I'll see you guys around.))

Atra nodded, pushing a piece of uneaten chicken around her plate. "Sounds like a plan. Er...half of one, anyway." She set down her fork and turned to face Kakaru. "Do you have an owl? I normally leave mine at my parents' house so they can send me anything I've forgotten. He won't be here until tomorrow morning. It's probably better that way, anyway. It'd look more official."

Thinking, Atra went over the half plan in her head. It was great and all, much better than her own plan, and she couldn't find any flaws that weren't easily fixed. "We need to wait until Professor Sprout leaves the Hall, though. It wouldn't do for someone to tell Lightwing that the teacher who'd just summoned her was currently enjoying pudding in the Great Hall."

As she spoke, Atra turned to the staff table. The Herbology teacher had set down her fork and was currently leaning back in her chair, eyes drooping. "It shouldn't be too long, she looks like she's about to fall asleep in her stew."

Scowling, she turned back to Kakaru and answered his last question. "My parents made me use the Cruciatus and Imperius Curses on a Mudblood the summer of my fifth year. The idiots modified her memory afterwards. The combination went funny, though, and I think she's in St. Mungo's mental ward. They seemed to think it would strengthen my will." The look on her face was not a pleasant one, but she asked the next question with great curiosity. "Have you ever had one used on you?"

((@ PromisedSword: crying That sucks. ))

((Wow, Sirius is some hot property. I've had a half mind to link Angel with him too. XD

PromisedSword: We'll miss you. You rock. ^_^))

The desserts suddenly appeared. Ice cream, cake, custard, gelatin, fruits, tarts, chocolates, pudding and doughnuts apeared before all of them...

Sahara served herself some custard and chocolates, watching Angel from her place at the Ravenclaw table. Looking over at where Angel had been staring, Sahara spotted Arduro and Asakawa in deep conversation, sometimes shooting Angel dark looks.

Sahara was appalled. They were clearly planning against her best friend, and she couldn't allow it. Especially not when they were planning against her for Dark Magic. She knew what she had to do.

"Obliviate!"

Sahara had shot a Memory Charm discreetly in Asakawa and Arduro's direction. She ducked, not caring to see whether she had made the target, and pulled out a random wand from the pocket of a boy sitting beside her. She pointed this wand at her own, whispered "Finite," and quickly stowed the wand back in the boy's pocket.

OoC: Sorry for not being active lately. >< It's weekend now, and I should be able to keep up?

He wasn't able to answer Atra, as he responded to the "Obliviate" shot in his direction. Kakaru instinctively turned around and said "Diffendo..." with his wand pointing in the direction from the voice. "What the bloody hell was that all about?" he murmured as he stood up from the table, as he continued to grasp his wand tightly. "I think we ought to depart," he said, "People shooting spells while people have their back turned... that's quite crude of them."

"Shall we go to the Common Room? I'm not particularly fond of running away when someone tries to hex me, but considering it seemingly came out of nowhere, and we're in a room full of teachers, it may not be the best time to do much of anything," he said quietly as his eyes scanned the tables, wondering who could have done something so brash.

Atra stood up, too. He wand , like Kakaru's, was drawn instinctively, though she had fired no spell. She noticed a few teachers looking in their direction, and pulled on Kakaru's sleeve. "Come on. It came from behind us, while Gryffindor is in front. It's unlikely we'll find the person who did it out of this lot, unless they're doing something idiotic."

Despite her own, advice, Atra too looked out at the mass of students. One of the people in front of her had just tried to hex them. The spell that had been aimed at them hadn't been meant to harm, which was more troubling than if it had been. It meant someone else knew what was gonig on, someone besides Lightwing.

"Let's go," she muttered, and headed towards the doors, wand still out and eyes still searching for the caster of the Memory Charm.

"Good point," he said as he turned away from the crowd, and headed in the direction of the exit.

He wasn't sure what would happen if he looked back, so he merely didn't. He hoped they hadn't drawn too much attention, for with readied wands and having early dismissed themselves, it'd be awkward, but he was sure one of the teachers was bound to understand, hopefully. "Someone could only do that to a Slytherin... try to hex them with a back turned. Enemies between any other two Houses wouldn't even consider it... it's not ethic, not that we're considerate of ethics either," he said thoughtfully as he proceeded out of the Great Hall.

"Do you know the password to the Common Room yet? If not, then we need to go find a new place to reside in," he said softly as he stood in front of their staircase that led to their dungeons.

Tori turned around at the sound of the spell and was disappointed when it didn't hit. She shivered. The castle was a bit drafty.
