Lee glowered at Emmy and growled deeply as she stood there. "I know exactly what they are Doctor. The fact remains if those had been real weapons and you did that, you would have not only probably killed us, but our allies as well. I want those intars NOW!" she ordered, not caring one iota about Emmy's feelings or whatever.

"If I have to retrieve them by force I will do so. Therefore I suggest you hand over the intars quietly. Because even with your training with the Jaffa from your previous experiences, I doubt you are good enough to take me on," she ground out.

"Oh and if you have it in your mind to try and tell me that I should follow the chain of command, then le me simplify it for you. You are now off world, we the soldiers are in charge. Thus you are under our command and as such subject to follow OUR orders. If you resist, then I will gladly kick your a** all over this planet and then send you back to Stargate Command, where they can deal with you and your attitude problem," she took a deep breath. "I do know for a fact doctor that if you are sent back through that gate, you will be taken off of this team for what you just did. Any rookie fresh out of the academy knows not to do that, it's a good way to get into trouble with their CO and other team members. Now hand them over!"

(*giggles* emmy makes things interesting. lol.)

Even as Lee faced off against Deveraux, Kyrin stepped onto the planet via the Stargate. There had been no hesitation at the portal on her part, no jitters. Only the calm acceptance of her intar weapons and a step across the stars.

Before she could drop into the appropriate maneuvers however, the Tok'ra was presented with the frozen tableu of Deveraux sarcastically explaining the definition of an intar to the officer. Instead of ducking for cover (though she did take a swift look around for the Jaffa, not feeling particularly trusting that they would not take a cheap shot at her given the opportunity), she strode toward the confrontation.

"Actually, Lee, the soldiers are not in command until we are in a combat or military situation. This exersize has not started yet and you therefore have no jurisdiction over her." Light brown eyes flicked over Lee dispassionately as Kyrin spoke with that disconcerting dual-toned voice unique to the Goa'uld and Tok'ra. "So, unless you wish to be faced with your own threats of disbandment from the team, I suggest that you stand down."

Aria ducked for cover as Emmy's rampage began, then, visibly shaken, she approaches Emmy, Lee and Kyrin. She is unaccustomed to hearing the dual-toned voice that Kyrin spoke with, so that had only a negative affect on her nerves. Using a phrase she's heard on Earth, Aria asks Emmy,

"What the hell was all that about?!!!" Her voice is barely hiding the trembling, though her initial surprize is lessening.

Lee whirled around on the Tok'ra and just growled in response before regaining her composure.

"If you had been here, you would have seen what she had done! She has misused military property, acted like a total beserker and put everyone else in danger. Just because the intars are not real, does not mean that they cannot hurt or cause damage. Therefore, I am appropriating her weaponry and making sure she does not cause anymore trouble or damage," she explained.

"The exercise started the moment we stepped through the wormhole. If this had been an alien hostile planet, Doctor Deveraux would have put everyone in danger with her reckless actions. According to Stargate Command protocol. Once through a wormhole on the otherside of the gate, the military are in command of the mission. The civilians are to follow all orders of the military present. Training mission or not, she disregarded protocol and also went off half cocked. As such I am requesting and demanding she turn over the intars effective immediately. If you have a problem with that Miss Kyrin, then take it up with my superiors at Stargate Command. Until then, please butt out."

Lee was not in the mood to deal with a Tok'ra who had a superiority complex. Nor was she in the mood to be explaining her actions and what she was doing at the moment. Which she had to do, which was putting her in an even more foul mood.

"Lastly Miss Kyrin, you are not in any position to give me orders or suggest that I stand down. I am in the right here, Doctor Rouke, Miss Aria and Captain Hunter all witnessed what Doctor Deveraux did, and as such, I highly suggest you mind your own business," she finished as she turned her glare back on Emmy. Her hand was held out expectantly at the Doctor. Lee was all but ignoring the Tok'ra now as she waited all but impatiently as she tapped her foot.

(Gods this is fun *giggles* I love you people!)

"Unless the entirety of this military exersize is to step through the gate and roll around to prove we're capable of it, then by all means, I'll follow Colonel Lockwood's orders. Even on off-world missions, until the planet is proven hostile, the scientific team has equal command of the team. Right now the only members of the team with the jurisdiction to disarm Emmy are Sonata and the late Colonel."

Kyrin wasn't concerned in the least that Lee dismissed her as unimportant. Her head lowered slowly, eyes closing. When she opened them again, the Tok'ra's entire stance changed. Golden eyes roamed over first Emmy and then Lee, taking them in from head to toe. She spoke again, as though nothing had happened, this time in a single voice.

"I think what Kyrin is trying to say is that perhaps we should wait until Lockwood arrives to decide this issue?" Her voice, with a lilting accent, was low-pitched and musical. Ceri stepped in between Lee and Emmy, giving a languorous smile first to Emmy and then turning her charm toward Lee. The smile was genuine, someone entirely different looked at the officer from behind warm, amber-colored eyes. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Ceridwelle." As completely unbothered by Lee's military stance and demand for Emmy's weapon, Ceri placed her warm fingers into Lee's hand and shook the outstretched palm in an awkward sort of handshake.

"Now hold on here, hold on here," Emmy stood up and stepped forward, raising her voice and moving between Lee and Ceridwelle. "Just a damn minute before we come to blows. First of all - hold this." Emmy shoved one of the empty P-90s into Lee's arms, then held out her now free hand to Ceridwelle, "That was awesome," she grinned, "We haven't met - directly, anyway - name's Emmy. This here's Aria. And the one with the broomstick up her a** is Lee."

"Anyway," Emmy said, hooking her free hand in her belt loop, "Let's straighten some stuff out. You there, jarhead..." she looked at Lee, "Do you think I'm an idiot? Of course if these had been real weapons then doing that would have been dangerous. Why would you feel the need to tell me that unless you think I'm an idiot? Do you think that I would do that if these were real weapons? Do you think I don't know that these are not real weapons? I have a degree in high energy physics. I could build an intar. Do you think I'm so stupid that I don't know what they're capable of? Do you think I could have a PhD in quantum physics, be a part of the most secret facility on Earth, have clearance to work both off-world and in Area 51... but be crazy enough to actually endanger people for no good reason but chuckles? Or do you think maybe there was no danger, and you just have your block-shaped head stuck deep up your own a**?"

"Next item of business...," Emmy said, strolling around aimlessly, clearly amused, "Is this chain of command thing. You're right that Kyrin does not have authority to tell you what to do... but then, you don't have authority to tell her - or me - what to do. I don't know if this training comes under military jurisdiction or not. But even if it does, you got no rank over me, GI Jane. I answer to one person and one person only - Dr. Rourke. She is my 'superior officer'. You are not. In science business, she is also Lockwood's 'superior officer'. In military business, Lockwood is her 'superior officer'. That means that even in military matters, the only people who get to yell at me and order me around are Dr. Rourke, and Colonel Lockwood. And that is the chain of command, Einstein."

"Next item of business...," Emmy said, turning her back to stroll a little way away, "Is this whole 'mission protocol' thing you keep talking about, that you say I broke. Lady Captain, the only mission protocol I've heard so far is one Captain Hunter, USAF, telling me that she wanted to see me act like a soldier when I came through the gate. Wasn't that what I did? Seems to me like I followed the 'protocol' exactly. What's that? I did it wrong? Oops. Good thing we're training. I'd love to hear what I did that is wrong for going through the gate into a hostile place. But you know... I haven't heard one single order, from anyone organizing this training mission... that I shouldn't fire my weapon when coming through the gate. Not one. So... which protocol did I break?"

"And finally...," she turned around to face the group again, and while her back had been turned she had put the P-90 magazine into place. She slapped it down now, grinning, "You were going to appropriate my weaponry? By force?"

Hunter massaged the bridge of her nose furiously. This was a disaster! This wasn't a team, it was the cast of a sitcom!

Unfortunately, she had no jurisdiction to step in and say anything. Not that she would have known what to say anyway. Where to start? Devereux was making a joke out of the training exercise before it even began, and Lee was threatening a civilian. It was a nightmare. Until Lockwood or Rourke stepped up, there was little to stop it from spiralling out of control unless one of the two backed down.

Sighing, Hunter walked over to Rourke.

"Pardon me, Doctor," she said softly, "But I think your assistance might be required. I am not entirely sure what you can do, but until the Colonel gets here, you are what passes for the commanding officer."

Aria calms down more as Ceridwelle steps in-between Emmy and Lee, then she listens as Emmy speaks. Now over the shock, Aria suddenly starts laughing wildly, seeing humor in the direction that the discussion headed. Her laughter is light and musical, similar to her voice, and she seems unable to quit. Her eyes even begin to tear up.

(( okay, I'm going to make an official note who hasn't posted stepping into the gate, aka the warning. I've deleted a few OOC posts to keep the thread clean, nothing big. ))

Once the last of her team was through the gate, Lockwood nodded to those up in the control room, tapping a cigarette out of the box and tucking it behind her ear. A quick check of her zat, followed by a look over her intar before looping it across her torso and strapping an intar pistol to her thigh. Rather than march through the gate, Lockwood strolled through the liquid-like surface. Finally, Lockwood put her sunglasses on, knowing that though the world she was gating to was jungle-like, the stargate itself was in a clearing. Even as she was stepping through, the colonel was reaching up for the cigarette behind her ear.

Lockwood pulled the cigarette from behind her ear before she even saw what was transpiring on the other side of the gate. Deveraux had a p-90 leveled at Lee, Hunter was talking to Rourke who was, as far as Lockwood could tell, pretending not to be there. Aria could be having a breakdown (gate travel did that to some people) and the Tok'ra seemed to be the only one attempting to stop Deveraux from shooting Lee.

The Colonel sighed.

One hand lifted to shield the cigarette after she put it in her mouth, and Lockwood lit it. She would need one good drag (at the minimum) before she was going to be ready to deal with this.

"Lee! Deveraux! Both of you get a time-out! About face and I want to see twenty paces between the two of you. Hunter!" This last command was accompanied by a beckoning gesture. As the first one through the gate, Hunter was the most likely to be able to give her a full accounting of the incident.

Once Hunter was within earshot, Lockwood turned to where she could see Deveraux, purposefully making sure that Hunter would have a clear line of sight on Lee.

"I want you to explain to me fully what just happened. As unbiased as you can make the account, if you can."

Lee plainly ignored Deveraux and also ignored the Tok'ra. Even though she ignored the woman, the soft silky voice of Ceri and the touch sent an involuntary shiver through the Captain. However, she got herself under control and she turned her face partially away from Deveraux. Just as she faced the Tok'ra, Lockwood came through the gate and then gave an order.

"No we haven't met, Ceridwelle, but I have my orders. We can play nice later, if you wish to do so," she replied formally. Even she wasn't immune to the Tok'ra's charm, but she could keep herself under control.

Moving away from Deveraux, she had her intar still at the ready in one hand. She didn't trust the doctor to not shoot her, even with an intar while following orders. It was plain to Lee that Deveraux would not follow orders as given. The doctor was mad and probably a tad insane, if anything at all. So much for good relations between the civilians and the military personel.
