Ice/cold manipulation. I think that's the right name. Now, does anyone know how to do it? I'm trying a Google as we speak, but I thought someone might be able to shed some light on it for me. Everyone seems to love controlling heat; why not cold?

I live the the Northern Oregon desert, I can seriously relate.

I wouldn't consider what I do to be "cryokinesis", but I can make a cool or cold psi ball with a bit of effort.

It's really the same principle as making a warm or hot psi ball, but the inverse of that principle. It's hard for me to explain because when I do it I don't really think about cold or anything, I just sort of do it. If anything I "feel" the feeling of being cold where I want the psi ball to be, usually in my palms.

I'm glad to see you remembered that technique LoBo, it is one of the best beginner ways to make an ice ball. But don't ever forget grounding. It's the most basic of the basic in order to prevent a burnout. If it's unknown, I'll explain it here if anyone wants.

Iceman... Hmm, somewhat a different way in my opinion. Iceman is a mutant, and has the power to produce ice from his body, not by manipulating energy, but you have the right idea. Most of hydro/cryokinetics come from already present water sources as fuel. However, if there is a lack, any moisture in the air or your own body can be converted. It's even possible to some to cause a molecular restructure and create water. I use it often during times like the winter to get a little extra snow. Being out of school now, I like to help my cousins and other family out by giving them some snow days. Just recently I aided in a storm that Dameon can vouch for. Pissed him off I think. -cackles evilly-

So why not just take the heat out of something? Doesn't seem that impossible to me.

Well, to be entirely honest, kinetics are a rare breed. You'd be more likely to find a group of otherkin then a group of kinetics. It was luck that I discovered one of my best friends was a pyro. And with myself a cryo, it explained much of why despite our disagreements on things, we were such good friends. It's because of the balance between us.

Also, very true. The core of cryokinesis is the absence of heat. However, it's not to simple. I'm not simply just a cryo, I've learned to be more of a varied kinetic in all forms. All kinetics are jsut that, kinetics. A true master of them all no matter what their traits or preferences, will identify themselves as a Kinetic, not electro, pyro, anything. I learned to use electro by grounding myself through the air to power lines for energy. I've learned geo by just grounding myself and drawing latent energy in the soil. I'm learned pyro directly from cryo, by removing that excess energy and heat, it became more abundant in my reserves and I channeled it enough to become familiar.

Everyone has this ability, not just kinetics. it's one of the few things you can teach people who aren't kinetic, or aren't into these types of things. Just like most things in the world, it takes hard work, perseverance and patience. Granted, you may never amass enough to form a directly visible ball of fire... But when you charge a ball... Aim it and release it into the air... You can see its effects. You can see the residual acts it does on the air around it, how at parts, it will split fog apart and clouds. Belief plays a important role as well. You need to want and believe in order to do. Without that, you're swatting at the air expecting what won't come.
