My friend's stupid little alligator moved in.
No... there were millions nay.
TRILLIONS of spots he coulda moved into but no.
He had to move in the spot where I had a hoard of flowers,
my... my beautiful flowers.
my... my beautiful hybrids.
GONE!
ALL GONE!
Thanks to that STUPID, STUPID ALIGATOR.

Oh, that happened to me once.
You know those signs in your town? Yeah... don't plant any flowers/trees near them.. Why? 'Cos that's where villagers can move into and where Gulliver crashes... I don't know Gulliver's dimensions and if they follow house dimensions, but this is the house dimension...

The 's' is the sign, the 'x' is where the house will appear. The 'o' is the border around the house. So, flowers and trees should never be planted on the 'x's while trees should also not be planted in the 'o's while flowers can be planted in the 'o's spaces.
I suggest you place patterns around the signs in your village as to prevent that from happening again.

Wait, are your flowers not in the Lost & Found?
Depending on which squares they were in near the sign post, they could be in the Lost & Found.
I'm not sure if that works for flowers, but that's how it works with items.
