Soo...I'm guessing all of us females have beaten boys in video gaming before. How do you feel when your the victor?
I react to it normally almost all of the time because genders are totally equal in gaming. The only time when I get full of myself is when the guy I'm facing is all cocky like "You'll never beat me."
I totally hate the whole 'Girls cant game', because almost every member here has proved that girls definitely can.

I've never played against a guy who underestimated me because I'm a girl. Only really get excited when I beat a guy is if he's really good at the game we're playing. Otherwise it's just satisfaction of knowing I kicked someone's arse.

Gender certainly doesn't have a detectable effect on gaming ability. I am an excellent gamer in my own right, though. Winning happens quite often for me. It also probably has something to do with my sister's lack of focus. Seriously, she complains she can't pay atention in school because people are talking. People talking in school-nothing new there. Now my step-sister is very focused and competitive. She is driven to win.

Sakyh I've never played against a guy who underestimated me because I'm a girl. Only really get excited when I beat a guy is if he's really good at the game we're playing. Otherwise it's just satisfaction of knowing I kicked someone's arse. Same here. ^^ Ive played against both guys and girls that have threatened to beat me, but it was never because of my gender, it's because they think they're better.
For example; Yesterday I was at my friend's house and her brother wanted me to play Naruto: Ultimate Ninja with him. We did 6 matches (One match includes 2 rounds) both as rookie ninjas. He was getting kind of full of himself when we were chosing our characters.
Well, this is how the battles went:
Match 1 Winner: Me Match 2 Winner: Me Match 4 Winner: Me Match 5 Winner: Him
At match 5 he had realized that he was too confident to begin with, so he got back at me, which is something that only a good gamer can do.
He didn't know what kind of opponent I was, therefore he was used to basic attacks, where I come up with extremely fast combos, and dodge almost everything.
Although...I did win Match 6, hehe.

I rarely take satisfaction in the fact that I am a girl and can kick some serious guy butt, it's usualy only when someone else points out "OH! not only did you get owned! but you got owned by a girl!" Usualy thats the point where I say "You try a round with me and say that!"
That actualy happend last year, at my friend's b-day party. I was the only girl invited so naturaly the fact that I was a gamer drew some serious attention. Now, I am a PS2 player, and they busted out every system except PS2. Naturaly I picked the controller that looked as closely to the PS2 as possible, a game cube (( he had a smaller controller, so it looked a lot like a PS2 one)) so at least I had a clue what I was doing. On that particular system soul caliber 2 was up and I quickly had an oponent.... who owned me.... but I kept trying.... roughly three rounds later I finaly found out what character worked for me, and her strongest weapon (( Talim )) and I owned everyone there! At one point someone who was suposed to be the master of all game cube games pointed out "you are all getting owned by a girl! here let me show you how it's done!" he picked up the controller..... and ate it big time.... I kicked his butt so hard he must have been ashamed to be alive at the moment. Naturaly the "What where you saying about getting owned by a girl?" came up.

I can't even beat the seven year old girl I babysit at videogames. sad My talents lie elsewhere. What amuses me is the kick the guys in my gaming group get out of beating me at anything, since the girls in our group can own them at anything else. Our girls are hardcore RPG nerds, and not a one of us has the coordination to pull off anything resembling a good show at video games.... I own at monopoly though.... too bad Monopoly isn't a FPS

I always get competitive when it comes down to playing video games, there was this one time I was playing with my friend Mike, and we both were playing Pokemon Puzzle league for the N64. I beat him every single time and there is an occasional win for him. He would get so embarrassed that he had been owned badly by his best friend! My dad and I get competitive when it comes to Tetris (sorry if I misspelled it)) we would go so far into the game and burn each other while we are struggling to win. It is good times, I had a good dealing of winnings with my father. ^^

I can never beat my brothers in any fighting games. They just go all out on me. xp However, I can beat games much faster than them. I beat Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Soul Calibur III (including Chronicles of the Sword), Champions of Norrath, Ape Escape III, and a few others before they did. biggrin

I feel good no matter who I beat in a video game. Though it does feel sort of weird when I'm lanning and I kill some guy in CS or something and everyone screams, "YOU GOT ROLLED BY HER!!"
Yeh, it makes it awkward... But flattering.
But honestly, I don't think it matters who you're beating and I don't think it should matter to anyone. Some guys I know get bent out of shape whenever I beat them... It's weird.

Usually people don't get surprised when I beat a guy, they just say something like, "Dude, she owned you!". But never something directly pointing that I'm a girl and I had beat a male.
I kinda have a rougher image, so people assume that I'm pretty decent. ^^

The only time I've been in the "You'll never beat me," situation is when I was younger. My brothers were always playing Tekken and I'd just watch, till one day I decided to play. They started laughing, I beat one, then I beat the other. That shut them up XD, but it pretty much just a fluke, I had to practice to beat them after that.

I've never been underestimated when playing a game against boys...unless it's the first time I've ever played it. We usually know how good the others are and just go all out.

Made in heaven, I'm your creation I feel like I'm one of the girl's that gives the guys the opinion that they are superior at gaming. Pisses me off. My reflexes are sad. That... and I have little confidence in my gaming abilities... ;[[ Tsumibukaki sonzai Hakai shoudou ni seiteki shoudou Uetsukerareta nou
