Just kidding! Although that would be kind of badass to say you beat everyone in a Metro. This is my 1991 Honda Civic STD. I had serious plans for it up until I lost my job. Now I just enjoy the good road feel, excellent Honda handling and the 40 miles per gallon. When I get well-to-do again, I'm either going to swap an engine into this car (Can't pick much of a better chassis to modify than a 4th gen Civic hatch) or sell it and buy a newer, faster Honda. The STD (besides being a hilarious name for a trim level) is the ultra-base zero option model. On the other hand, for a 1991 there's almost no rust whatsoever and it's in extremely good condition. Bit of sun fade on the roof though. Check out the the complete lack of a passenger-side mirror The ladies love the luxurious vinyl interior (I've removed the back seat since this picture was taken.) No tachometer whatsoever :[ I've gotten used to it, but if I start modding I will be installing another gauge cluster first thing A slick-shifting manual transmission. Honda is renowned for making superb manual transmissions, which just barely makes up for the fact that this one is only a 4-speed. For some reason I don't have a pic of the engine bay. I have one in my phone but I don't know how to transfer it. I've got a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder with 70 ponies under the hood :] And for an extra tease, because I feel like showing off, here is my last car, a 1992 Acura Integra GSR, with 160HP coming from a 1.7 liter VTEC engine. It could easily do 15s in the quarter mile, which is not bad for a car from 1992. I miss that car dearly even now.

Heh. This was the car I had before the Integra A 1988 Honda Accord DX. That was a really fun car, but when I decided it was time for a new one I swore that never again would I drive a dented-a** car. If anyone's looking for a reliable, roomy, fun-to-drive car, look no further than a 3rd gen Honda Accord. PS The Acura didn't have a V6. I said VTEC. You know the variable valve timing technology that was out for years before other companies jumped onto the bandwagon with VVT, MIVEC, etc. I had a 4-cylinder. And that was the other thing I promised myself. I'd never own a car with more than 4 cylinders.

ooo, man of virtue, lol. i always wanted a 6 banger. but now that i have a corolla with some speed, i likes it. plus, i kinda like paying 20 bucks for a half tank of unleaded Plus, that 88' honda was like back when Honda and toyota was busy copying off each other, lol, the 88' in the pic and the AE86 Trueno looks almost the same. frame is built a lil different though. both are sturdy cars, and i like the AE86 Trueno and the Levin as well as that 88'

The 3rd gen was the last generation of Accord with a 3-door available for the US market. Interestingly enough, it was also the only market that particular 3-door was available. It is like the AE86, but the CA7 Accord is fairly large by comparison. This is what the European and Japanese markets got: It was called the Aerodeck, and in these markets, the Aerodeck is still available, although from the 4th generation onward they were 5-doors.

Well, I don't think you'll ever be smoking anyone at a drag strip, but, those are all lovely base vehicles to build a real nice track-car out of. I've considered putting cash aside before to build up a good road/ track car out of an older import, a lot of them can out perform the american mini-cars of the time. Then again, I've also considered building up a six-banger vintage mustang for racing out on the track, those suckers are sprite without a 500lb. engine block up front. Plus, plenty of room when you're working on it, it'd be easier to work on in the pits.
Either way, all cars have potential, personally, I wouldn't mind having a Trueno...

True about the drag-strip comment. Luckily I don't really care about drag-racing. :]
I just want something communicative, with good pickup and superb handling. And when it comes to mass-produced 4-cylinder cars, no one's better at that than Honda. (At least in my opinion.) If I sell the Civic, I'll probably get another GSR.

Masticatius Laguna Seca is awesome. I want to drive there one day. Come to think of it, I'd actually like a mini at some point, an original mini cooper. Sporty little cars.
