Hello and welcome to my [ Lab 305 ] quest thread. This thread will feature some things I'm considering on trying to make a reality. Thank you for stopping by and I love comments and suggestions.
This new quest was started on July 25, 2016.

 Available Fel Essences Found Here***Visible Imagination*** I am in no way, shape, or form claiming these as my own. They belong to Lab 305. I am simply using them to get ideas flowing and potentially use one of them, if at all possible, for my hypothetical Raevan. Thank you. Visible Imagination A wispy substance floats within this vial - flowing like smoke but with an almost solid looking core. While from far away it doesn't look like anything in particular, when you near it you are able to see brief flashes of light, color and even detect the barest hints of sound. Drawing the bottle close to your eye and looking into the wisps, you are able to see and hear the past imaginings of many people within this Essence. After awhile, you feel your own mind start to slip into a daydream, zoning out to the mix of colors, sounds, and shapes whirling lazily around inside the Essence's core. As that happens, the Essence absorbs and adds your own idle thoughts to its collection, later rousing you from your drifting state and making you wonder for a few moments where you are and what you were supposed to be doing.

Toadstool  Reason: I've chosen the toadstool for multiple reasons. The depiction of the agaric in culture with it's nod to faeries and the fantasy aspect has always captured my attention. Also, the fantasy elements of the powers that could come from a "hallucinogenic magic mushroom" are also fascinating to me. Finally, my guardian character is an herbalist/mundane earth witch, so it just seems to fit with him as a whole.For more information on the specific toadstool, aka: agaric, go here.

POSSIBLE POWERS :
Daze: Passive - Sometimes spending a lot of time with Rowan, especially doing monotonous work, will cause a person to daydream more often than they typically would. Once in a great while, people tend to zone out completely acting almost as if they are mesmerized and not present whatsoever. This is wonderful for when Rowan is hungry.
Imagination Casting: Active - Rowan can project the daydreams, imaginings, thoughts and memories of himself and others into crystals, mirrors, glass, water, etc. He can't control them whatsoever (unless they're his own imaginings of course), but he can make fantasy a more visual experience for others to enjoy. NOTE: At first, this power will cost a lot of energy and will only be able to show these things blurred or distorted and the audio would also be muffled in such a way. However, once perfected, Rowan will be able to display these thoughts/imaginings/memories perfectly, accurately, and in perfect sound quality.
Spore Cloud: Active - Rowan can create a type of smoke reminiscent of his essence which actually contains microscopic spores that, when enough are inhaled, can cause very vivid visual and auditory hallucinations, bringing their current imaginings -- potential fears, joys, etc. -- to a reality for a short time. Only Rowan and the person going through the hallucinations can see them. He uses this as a defense mechanism to distract someone and get away more often than not.
Magic Mushrooms: Active - Rowan can create toadstools with special properties. These "magic mushrooms" aren't what they seem at all, as they actually cause temporary changes to physique -- i.e.: shrinking and/or growth of fingers, limbs, body, head, ribbon, etc. The effects are always rather random. NOTE: Of course, these things would be up to the other RPer if, in fact, they decide to have their character consume a mushroom. Rowan can't tell what the effect will have on the raeven other than the obvious temporary physical changes.
POSSIBLE TRAITS :
Mind's Eye - Rowan can see the imaginings of others. Trying to figure out a math problem? Rowan can see the numbers bouncing around your head. Trying to recall a memory? He can see the blurry memories forming before his eyes. Have an imaginary friend? He can see them just as you can!
Hallucinogenic Skin - Rowan's skin is "poisonous", that is to say, that coming into contact with his skin can potentially cause minor hallucinogenic effects (i.e.: visual and auditory distortions, sweating, salivation, low blood pressure, mood changes, euphoria, relaxation, ataxia, and loss of equilibrium) within moments. This doesn't always happen, but there is always that possibility.
FEEDING : Rowan feeds on the imaginings of others, causing them to feel dazed and confused a moment when they come back to earth, wondering where they are and what they were supposed to be doing. He's also a fan of dead, decaying matter, his favorite being dead, wet tree.

Rowan is the type that will see a situation and respond to it in the best way he can at that time. He always tries to be a good person, but in the end he knows you can't please everyone. He's very calm, quiet, and level-headed, always thinking before he speaks. He likes to think of himself as a problem solver, for if there's an issue, he'll think about the different potential outcomes before taking any one course of action; but this may be more due to his lack of focus than anything else.
Rowan oftentimes can be found in a daze, daydreaming or lost in his own thoughts; his mind is constantly racing. Others have to "bring him back to earth" quite often in that regard, more so than the average person. He's very imaginative, constantly playing pretend. One of his favorite pastimes is world building and character creation using his imagination, something that he tends to get lost in quite often. Fantasy is definitely his favorite genre and he aspires to be a writer one day. He oftentimes imagines full length movie scenes and uses his powers to show off his imagination and creations to others.
Reading and learning is an absolute must with Rowan. He can oftentimes be found reading fiction novels and increasing his knowledge base of different herbs and things of that nature (which helps Reuben out quite a bit in a pinch). Rowan would rather be inside reading or creating fiction than outside with Reuben (unless they're going to the forest after a rainy day, in which case he can find some scrumptious damp, dead tree).
Rowan is an introvert and enjoys himself that way. People may see this as off-putting, but he doesn't care. They will either accept him or not, and that's none of his concern. He's much more of an observer than a "take charge" type. He likes to view other people as though they were characters in a story he's making up and oftentimes will place likenesses of them in his own fantastical fictions if he finds them fascinating enough.
Rowan is kind, but only to those who are kind to him. He believes trust is gained through experience with a person. He's read enough books to know you can't trust everyone that walks into your life. Once he knows he can trust you, he's an open book and actually quite outgoing and talkative; albeit a bit strange and all over the place in his conversations, dashing from one subject to another without even thinking.
Over all, Rowan will end up treating you however you treat him, regardless of consequence.

Reuben stands at an above average height of 5'11", and weighs about 180 pounds. His body is quite toned as he enjoys staying as healthy as possible. He has straggly, unkempt dirty blond hair and sea blue eyes which are oftentimes covered by black rimmed glasses. He will sometimes grow out his beard just enough to make him look a bit older, but as soon as he feels he looks a bit too rugged, he'll shave it clean and start again. Oftentimes he'll grow out a soul patch for fun and shave it when he's had enough. He wears t-shirts with jeans in the spring, shorts and tank tops throughout summer, light sweaters in autumn, and coats with scarves in the winter. He wears whatever speaks to him at the time. As far as accessories go, he'll always be wearing his basic earrings in whatever color matches his current outfit. Along with that, he'll wear scarves quite a bit, especially during fall, winter, and beginning of spring. He'll also be sporting one of his large watches on most days.

Reuben is a kind-hearted soul and finds positivity in most any situation. He's not afraid to speak his mind and always speaks the truth; regardless if it's hurtful or not. He's stubborn, yet willing to admit defeat when he is clearly proven wrong. He spends a lot of his free time in nature; whether that be in the woods or at the beach, he's always having a good time when he's outside. When he's not outdoors, he spends much of his solitary time reading the tarot or studying herbalism and creating herbal remedies.
Reuben tends to be the type of person who marches to the beat of his own drum. He doesn't care for the opinions or instructions of others and would rather figure things out on his own. Sure, if he has questions about something he'll ask and take their responses to heart; but unwarranted advice or opinions aren't readily accepted or appreciated. This is one reason he doesn't care for religious people whatsoever, who tend to tell people "how to live", and gets very peeved at those who throw it at him. He is also a huge believer in karma and will take any chance he gets to be kind to another being in the hopes that it comes back around to him in the future.
HISTORY :
Reuben Rothmore was born on July 25th to his parents, Peter and Rubi; and an older brother, Pete. They were all a very conservative bunch; going to church every Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday. At a very young age, Reuben was instilled with all of these very conservative views which always seemed to conflict with the way he truly felt about something.
Growing up, Reuben always felt as though he was different from his family. He felt much more connected with nature in a spiritual way. While his brother was often found indoors playing video games, Reuben was outside enjoying the crisp, cool breeze and often spending time with the plants his mother grew in their back yard.
It wasn't until Reuben began going to grade school and beyond that he realized his "differences" were something that other people felt as well. It was during his teenage years that he realized that he wasn't only gay, but he didn't feel about God the way the rest of his family supposedly did.
When he was fifteen, he would do his own research at the local library. A friend he made at the library gave him his first tarot deck, an original Rider-Waite and the love for the tarot began. He took every opportunity he could to spend with the cards and it blossomed into more curiosities about other religions. It was through these existential studies that he realized he wanted to be free and finally live his life the way he wanted. He began taking formal courses in both tarot and herbalism, which he kept from his family. It was at this point he began to consider himself a mundane earth witch, which basically meant he didn't have any inherent magical abilities (like others in Gaia), but he was able to use his knowledge of tarot and herbalism to do mundane works in witchcraft.
It wasn't long before Reuben decided he wanted to be himself all the time. He decided to come out to his family when he was twenty-one, who then proceeded to kick him out, forcing him to move to Barton Town with his best friend, Calista Khova, a real witch. From there, he got a job at a local market and continued to study herbalism in the meantime.
Finally, after he had enough money, he bought himself a house just outside of Barton Town and opened his own alchemy shop out of his new home which he called "The Mystic Herb", selling custom infusions, spells, and even poppets to his clients. Another dealing in his business was that of readings for his clients; tarot, oracle, and rune readings. With all of this, he's been living fairly comfortable ever since.

I enjoy your Moon Shard essence, but it is still a bit bland. You may want to add a bit more information on it and make it a bit more "unusual" than just a glowing shard of rock. As for the Howl of Wolves essence, be wary. It may be treading on the Divine Song essence.
The soul is very nice and is a lovely contrast to the two essence. Overall, this is a great concept thread It just needs a bit more polishing. Good luck and I hope that I helped a bit. <3

I think your Raevan concept is a good start, but I think you still need to tweak it or polish it like Shu said. I'm a little..iffy about the Fel Essence being a Moon Shard because I think RoChan? has something called Liquid Moonlight, and I'm unsure if they'd be too similar. And yeah, the howl of wolves essence does seem to be dancing close to the Divine Song.
The soul is really attractive, since ..I'm unsure that there have been a lot of bird souls. I know Roux was a Roc but..still. xD And for the alignment..I'm not absolutely sure that the child-like aspect fits the Lawful Good alignment. When I think of Lawful good, I think of someone noble, knightly and like. My sister says to think of a Hufflepuff xDD;; I hope I helped a little. ;_;

I agree, the Fel Essence is kinda bland, and very similar to RoChan's essence.
Also, the Howl of Wolves is very very similar to Meli's Divine Song essence.
Essences are things that shouldn't exist in nature, i.e., for my quest, singing rain.
Remember, they were corrupted in the storm way back when~~
try to come up with something along that theme.
other than that, i'd say your concept looks pretty good smile
